Ordered once and never again! Unfortunately, I didn't read the reviews beforehand, and they didn't even deliver to my door. If you, as a man, have to threaten a 5'10" woman, then your mother really did something wrong raising her. RUBBISH! You'd be better off spending your money elsewhere. This place isn't worth it. Ugh.

I ordered food through Thuisbezorgd.nl | Order Food Online. I was called to say my food wasn't being brought upstairs. (The way he said hello was already with an attitude.) To which I replied that I was at home with my child and asked if he could bring it upstairs. The man immediately reacted angrily and rudely, "Hey listen, we don't bring food upstairs, or you have to pick it up downstairs or your food will be canceled." I said, "Why are you talking like that?" He told me I found it strange because I've ordered roti rolls before, and they've been delivered right to my door. I couldn't even finish my sentence, and the man hung up on me. I immediately called back because I couldn't believe he was being so rude. I said, "That's not the way to talk!" He then called me by my full first and last name, said, "Walo Japa Japa," and called me "Djoeka." I was so angry that I called my neighbor and went over there right away. (On my way to Shanta's Roti, I saw my order was canceled. I didn't receive or accept any food, of course.) I'm not going to let this go. I've never experienced anything like this before.

Not even worth a star. The food is tasteless and the staff is incredibly rude. You pay for delivery but have to pick up the food yourself. You can tell these coolies haven't learned any manners. Shame on you!

I order my food here almost every week. It's a shame to read such reviews, but I've only had good experiences with this restaurant, and the food is delicious! Delivery is quite fast, and I always call ahead. 👍🏼

The chicken roti roll was okay, very tender. The roti roll practically exploded with the food, spilling all the ingredients onto the plate. You'd think they could make a decent roti roll for a roti shop.

It's ridiculous. I ordered and paid for my food, and it wasn't delivered because it was an old number. I don't see the point of that if everything has already been paid for. I tried calling and couldn't even get a word in edgewise, the guy kept talking over my shoulder.

Despite the bad reviews, I still ordered. But DON'T DO IT! They're rude and completely unprofessional. The man yelled at me on the phone. I don't care if someone hangs up on you; you're at work, so act accordingly.

As many have experienced; I was called asking if I could pick up the order at the garage, to which I said that I pay for home delivery costs on THUISbezorgd.nl so expected it to be delivered to the door. The gentleman did not agree with this, got irritated and canceled my order before I would start writing 'crap' on thuisbezorgd.nl. In addition, the gentleman thought that he had enough satisfied customers so he really did not need my order. Very rude and unprofessional behavior👎🏾

We always order this at work and they always satisfy us. Great food and always on time👌

I would like to share my unpleasant experience about this restaurant. On 31-05-2025 I placed an order via Thuisbezorgd. I had ordered a roti special and an extra roti plate. With a roti special you normally get more than enough chicken - I know this because I have been a customer since 2021. With this order, however, I literally only got three pieces of chicken. I posted a negative review about this via Thuisbezorgd, because I was absolutely not satisfied with it. Today I was called by the owner, who also does the deliveries. He called me with a 06 number to address me about my review, which he found "inappropriate". He indicated that I, as a fellow Surinamese, was not allowed to post a negative review. According to him, we are "Surinamese among ourselves". He also said that he prepares the food himself, that the purchase is expensive, and that I should have taken those three pieces of chicken apart (!). This was according to him the justification for giving me only three pieces of chicken – while you pay the full price?!? I found it very inappropriate that he approached me as a customer and tried to influence me not to give an honest opinion about his service. Apparently, as a fellow Surinamese, you are not allowed to criticize restaurants in Zuidoost, because “we are all Surinamese among ourselves”. What fcking bullshit. You should be free to express your opinion – about anything. This is also the very last time that I do business with Shanta’s Roti. I will not be intimidated by anyone. Pfff… Next time I will just go to a Dutch store that sells roti, because at least they apologize when a customer is dissatisfied, and often give a discount code or something as compensation.

Omdat ik mijn beoordeling heb gegeven op thuis bezorgd belt meneer mij op mij uit te schelden met yu mppp en dat een kind vervloekt moet raken om mijn mening. Meerdere mensen klagen om dezelfde gebeurtenis bij bestellen.

Always good food. I always order 5/10 minutes before closing if my work is running late. Yet they still deliver after closing time. Always tasty and good value for money. Enjoy coming to shanta's. See you soon. PEOPLE WHO COMPLAIN ARE TOO LAZY AND FAT TO COME DOWN!!!!!. The best man really comes up for a valid reason, the food is top notch and so is the service. I think it's quite normal for him to ask if I want to come down if I live on the 5th floor and unfortunately I can't give a tip because I don't have any cash. If you're a slob you can say so, it doesn't have to put the name of the place down immediately.

Poor service and unprofessional behavior I placed an order at Shanta's Roti's via Tijdbesorgd.nl and paid delivery costs. Shortly afterwards I received a call from the restaurant telling me that I had to collect my order downstairs. When I indicated that I had paid for this and that I just wanted to receive my food at the door, my order was canceled. This is unacceptable! If a restaurant charges a delivery fee, the order should also be delivered. This is no way to treat customers. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant and will never order from here again. It's a shame I can't post the recorded telephone conversation here. But I will share this on Facebook so others can hear how customers are treated.

Delicious roti, truly one of the best in Amsterdam. I've been ordering here for years and the quality is consistent, just always good and delicious. The bad reviews are only because the delivery person does not deliver your order to your door if you live in an apartment, but has to pick it up downstairs.

Opening hours are completely wrong!!!!!!!!!! , you stand there in front of a closed door

Most anti-social people I have ever met!!! Cancel your order immediately if you indicate that you are heavily pregnant and therefore cannot collect the order downstairs. Walking upstairs to me is only 1 flight of stairs and every delivery person just walks up, no one calls me in advance to indicate in an angry tone that they don't want to make any effort and that being pregnant is not their problem and you will still be also scolded once. Roti watery and too salty

Roti was very disappointing, not good in taste. The service is also crap. My father, who is semi-paralyzed, placed an order and the delivery person struggled to bring it up. NEVER AGAIN!!

Bad service and hangs up the phone while trying to solve a problem. Doesn't even give you all the things you ordered

1 star is too much for this company. I placed an order via home delivery, after which I received a call from the gentleman who works here. He indicated that I should pick up my food at the end of the street from the garage when he comes. I then politely indicated that he can come to the door by car and that I often do that myself. The gentleman hung up and called again after 5 minutes. He then said “yes, you will come and pick up your food downstairs.” I then said in a calm tone, "I am experiencing this for the first time." The gentleman then said “you know what, I'm going to cancel your order because this isn't going well, you're going to write rubbish for us and we've been around for 17 years bye” and hung up in my ear. I was very shocked by this experience. I am currently at home with complications and that is why I opted for convenience today, namely home delivery. With home delivery you pay delivery costs, where the delivery people deliver the food to your door, EXCEPT for this delivery person apparently. At no point in the conversation have I spoken as disrespectfully to this gentleman as this gentleman has spoken to me. God bless you and I wish you the best!

I waited more than 1 hour and was once cancelled

Food was delivered quickly. Friendly delivery person. However, the food was way too salty. I had the roti Lam special. What I tasted was really only salt. Unfortunately, this will no longer be the case. If it's that salty, it's too much. But they weren't big portions. I just ate it and am now lying in bed feeling nauseous because of the amount of salt.

Damn the damn!!! If I could I would have given -10 stars. These people are completely sick. Please call me in advance to let me know if I will come downstairs to pick up the food. I indicate that I will pay €3.50 delivery costs. You get into the elevator and just come up with your rude mouth (that didn't happen of course). Ultimately, the counter argument is "we drive all the way from X to The gentleman did everything he could to avoid swearing at me on the phone, because he couldn't stand the fact that I had immediately put him in his place by indicating that he was rude and customer unfriendly. This report was also made on home delivery. Hoping they will contact me by phone so they can waive this case on their website. Home delivery unworthy!

BAD! I informed the delivery person that I was sick and could not come downstairs. He says he's going to throw away my food. And that I will get the money from Thuisbezorgd!!!! This is a disgusting, rude place! The owner agreed with this approach and agreed with the delivery person!!! NEVER ORDER!

Unfortunately not worth a single star. Roti from Rotterdam with lamb, so turkey meat full of masala cannot be eaten. It just gives you heartburn

I always get my roti here and it is always delicious. I see a lot of bad reviews and I don't understand this, is this mainly about delivery?

This is the tastiest Surinamese food in the whole of the Netherlands. Can't understand why this doesn't have 5 stars. When I read those other reviews I completely disagree! It clearly states that they do not enter apartments. This means they can of course deliver super quickly, which they always do as long as it is not too busy. The portions are just right if you order special and no children's menu! Roti is delicious, chicken is beastly delicious. And most importantly: It's always FRESH! Many roti houses come with older portions and you can taste that! In addition, they are hard-working people who have years of experience. In short, Shantas is the best in Surinamese food! Number 1 in the Bijlmer!

Wat een tegenvaller! Kleine porties, erg duur en het eten was echt niet lekker. De roti pannekoek was hard en de rest van het eten niet vers. Dit is de laatste keer dat ik hier eten afhaal

Top eten heerlijk en goed en lieve mensen niets is teveel gevraagd ze dien alles voor he zeer vriendelijk personeel vooral Shania toffe dame e d'r eten is supergoed aanrader voor iedereen probeer het mssrbeens je weetniet wat je beleefd

Ik rij speciaal om, om hier mijn roti's te halen. Heerlijke roti lams speciaal (met extra beetje saus). Iedere keer is het weer een feestje als ik thuiskom en genieten mag van deze overheerlijke roti's.

Heerlijke roti hier gehaald. Weliswaar stevig geprijsd, maar het geld zeker waard. Fijne zachte roti-plaat met heerlijk gekruide toespijs en natuurlijk ontbreekt het kerrie-ei niet. Dit wordt mijn vaste roti-stek in ZuidOost.

Gister roti kipfilet speciaal afgehaald, met de veronderstelling dat het een grotere portie zou zijn. Eenmaal thuis aangekomen bleek het niet om een grote portie te gaan, maar eerder om een kinder portie.. ik heb contact opgenomen met de eigenaresse, en die beweerde dat dit normaal is. Daar ga ik niet meer heen helaas…

Heerlijke roti. Alles erop en eraan was om van te smullen. Staat op tijd klaar en je hoeft na een telefonische bestelling niet nog eens in de rij te staan. Top!

Wij bestellen al jaren bij Shanta’s en het eten is keer op keer uitstekend! Wij hebben ook wel eens voor verjaardagen eten besteld en ook grote bestellingen zijn net zo goed.

Lekkere roti met pittige sambal. We hebben n half uur gereden voor we thuis waren maar maaltijd was nog goed warm door de verpakking.

Goed eten verzorgd in nette verpakking zodat je het gemakkelijk thuis kunt opeten, met een Surimaas gevoel!

Heerlijke rotirollen verkopen ze.

Heerlijk gegeten, heerlijke roti's...zo eet ik ze nergens...kipfilet en aardappel is geweldig bereid

Lekker roti gegeten. Alles is gescheiden in 1 grote bak.

Avonddienst tot 21:00 uur... bami kip speciaal besteld. Supersnel bezorgd, en ja super lekkerrrrr... Ik heb spijt dat ik die bara er niet extra heb bij besteld horrr! Najaahhh... volgende week weer avonddienst. ;-)

Het eten is heerlijk en vers en wordt ook goed warm ontvangen thuis op Surinaams op jangh

Echt de allerlekkerste roti's! Ik ben zo blij dat we maar 10 min rijden van Shanta's afwonen 😆

Ordered two Roti's and a 'broodje bakkeljauw'. The food arrived quicker than expected despite being in the close vicinity. The pancake was good, so we're the vegetables and potatoes. The curry tasted nice as well only the chicken was a bit less to my tasting. It definitely had enough meat (4 pieces). Food was delivered in a food track so everything was separated.
