I came there regularly fourteen years ago and I would like to do so again today.

One of my favorite places in Middelburg! Wonderful to forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Nice, cozy and nostalgic vibes. The Surinamese chicken sandwich is highly recommended!

An oasis of pleasant nostalgia, great vibes, good coffee, nice clocks, and more goodies such as the homemade Bavarois cake (recommended! Unfortunately, just not for the vegetarian friends because of gelatin 😥. I'll just say it. I really thought it was a great experience. downside that it wasn't on the menu) Hence one less star. Still 5 stars for the excellent, laid-back atmosphere, the beautiful interior, the friendly service and the wonderful music (lots of 60's and 70's) Love it!!!

Saint John: a trip down to memory lane. In the past, when I was still at the PABO (then still in Middelburg), I often went here with classmates to enjoy the delicious yoghurt ice cream. Nice to see that Sint John still looks authentic and attractive.

You can't go back to Middelburg without a special sandwich, exotic coffee and yoghurt ice cream at Sint John. My living room in Middelburg for almost 50 (?) years. As teenagers we were there in between hours, now also a great place to work for a while.

Lovely terrace on a nice square in Middelburg. Many different sandwiches. I had the Tosti Bali myself, a surprising combination as a sandwich and very tasty! On a busy sunny day, there are a few staff, which means you have to wait a long time to be helped and before you can pay.

Leuke plek om koffie te drinken. Probeer de Javaanse Mokka. Heerlijk. Onze hond mocht ook mee en personeel is supervriendelijk. Komen hier graag.

A lovely cafe in a beautiful square in Middleburgh. Unfortunately with miserable coffee and cocoa, here you can still get the Zeeland standard from the 90s. So it's better to drink a cola or stop somewhere else...

Unfortunately not as it used to be. Been coming here for 20 years. Every time I come to the area from the east, I come especially for the Yoghurt ice cream. Unfortunately, it is no longer the way it was. It is grainy, sweeter and resembles powdered milk that has been used. Twice now. Very shame. We don't go here anymore, you pay 10 euros for an ice cream with some strawberries. Too bad after so many years.

A lovingly furnished mini hotel with 4 rooms. There is a cozy café on the ground floor. The rooms are lovingly furnished in the style of the 50s. The bathrooms are modern and clean. There is a nice large roof terrace for hotel guests. Unfortunately there is no other lounge for guests, so in bad weather you can only stay in the room. The breakfast was excellent and varied, although it usually involved a certain waiting time. The hotel has 2 parking spaces, which is really worth its weight in gold in Middelburg. Centrally located on the beautiful Vismarkt, the Sint John is the ideal starting point to explore the picturesque city center with its pretty little shops and restaurants. Sint John is really recommended.

The frozen yogurt is very jum jum

This morning we had a delicious breakfast here. We personally didn't like the coffee itself at all. But the place itself was nice, the staff was extremely hospitable and our breakfast, the Bali sandwich and warm croissant with brie and Serrano ham, was delicious. So all in all, definitely give it a try.

The coffee was really bad and served very cold. We couldn’t even finish it. The service was very unwelcoming. Though the old building is nice.

The food is of very low quality and extremely basic. So if you're looking for a great place for breakfast/brunch, look further. Lemonade was tasty. The latte macchiato tasted bland. And the chocolate milk was from cecemel.

Dat er jullie logo op de voorruit staat is niet voor niks. Tjonge wat een leuk restaurant. Alleen dat terrasje al, geweldig, je waant je beetje in het buitenland. Lekkere lunch genoten met mijn 2 kinderen. Vriendelijke bediening ook. Ik zal er zeker blijven terug komen als ik in de buurt ben.

It is not without reason that there is a Trip Adviser vignette on the windshield. I've only been there twice now because, as a Limburger, I obviously don't go there for a nice lunch, and they have that. So, if I'm in the area again, I'll definitely visit again. Nice atmosphere, friendly service and, as I just mentioned, delicious food. St. John gets a big 10 from me.

Went into the city with my girlfriend, beautiful sunny weather, ordered a yoghurt banana ice cream and ate it deliciously, then drank tea and coffee and chatted in the relaxation of the terrace, good cheerful service, Greetings Marina and Sushanti from Middelburg

Attractive café in a unique location in the city. Terrace on beautiful historic square opposite the café. The menu (lunch) is not very extensive, but that is not necessary for us. The food is very tasty and the many (some homemade) drinks make a visit to this café completely worth it.

We happened to come through this side street and discovered this wonderful café. What an oasis of calm in the hustle and bustle of summer. Completely relaxed in a historic courtyard, under shady chestnut trees. The sandwiches were tasty and reasonably priced. Good beer and very friendly and attentive service. Great!

Mooie locatie met live gitaarmuziek op het pleintje. De ober deed ontzettend zijn best en was heel vriendelijk maar de lunch viel wat tegen. Ik had een broodje kip avocado en mijn man een broodje pastrami. Mijn broodje leek wel opgepiept in de oven maar te lang. Was daardoor meer toast. Mijn man vond zijn broodje wel smakelijk. Moest lang wachten door onderbezetting maar vriendelijkheid ober maakte dit goed.

Sint John has been our favorite cafe in Middelburg for more than 20 years. It has just moved carefully with the times and managed to retain its charm. With one exception, the service is always good and you feel welcome as a guest.

Friendly service and delicious food. Chicken/Avocado sandwich was good and quiche Lorraine was tasty. They only have yogurt ice cream here, but with a delicious fig sauce, for example. A good idea to be able to serve all kinds of ice cream in a simple way.

Apple cake on the old town hall square under Linden... The setting is a dream, the apple cake, like everywhere else in the region, is unique and delicious. The blueberry cheesecake was different than expected, tasty but the filling was more like buttercream than the solid cheesecake. The yogurt ice cream was huge! The men in service were quick, friendly and attentive, and the price was reasonable. A good place to take a break every year. .

This restaurant has existed since the beginning of the 70s. Years. Basically nothing has changed. The staff is still very friendly, the Youghurt ice cream is second to none and when I enter I feel like I'm in the middle of the Netherlands. In typical Dutch terms he would say German tourist

We often come here for a Javanese mocha and a Java sandwich. Wonderful..... but what is a real shame is the staff. Why don't they speak Dutch? Not even a please or thank you? This also happened in English. They can at least make the effort to try. Too bad about this.
