The taste of the microwave food is good, mind you, the inside might be cold. Nice wooden diner table, coosy atmosphere, kind service. Not the highest price but that is reflected in the food quality.

We received 1 starter; okay, fine, we shared that. But a little later, only 1 main course arrived. Well, that's when we thought, something isn't right. So we shared that one too. The Bifteki was without feta filling, even though it was on the menu, and the Gyros was way too salty; you couldn't really call it Gyros. We spoke to the staff about it; it was unclear to us what they were going to do. We just ate the main course together. I wanted to get something to drink, but unfortunately, the wait staff apparently weren't in the mood. A little later, a waitress did come to our table... They realized something had gone wrong after all. The excuse was a miscommunication; the waitress who served us didn't speak Dutch. Eventually, we asked for the bill; that wasn't possible at the table, so I was allowed to walk to the front and pay €50. Nothing was deducted from the bill, which they really should have. So, not recommended, this Greek place.

Amazingly good place! I had the mixed grill and it was really extremely tasty, well-seasoned, and the lamb chop was very well prepared. The pineapple soda drink is also unique and delicious! And at the end, we had the grand dessert. If you can't decide which dessert you want, just order everything for a cheaper price. The grand dessert was enough for 2 to 3 people! I'm glad we walked in here and I definitely want to come back again!

Authentic Greek with excellent service and outstanding food! We loved it so much that while we only in town for a week we ate here a couple of times. They have a really great menu and food is amazingly good! The only complaint is that the seating is VERY tight. Not much room between tables, which I didn’t love but it didn’t stop us from coming back. Highly recommend as an excellent restaurant.

The starters arrived at the table at the same time as the main courses. When we pointed this out to the wait staff, the waitress responded curtly that she had not taken our order, after which she simply walked away. No one bothered to apologize even once; we were even treated as if it was all our own fault. After eating the starters, it turned out there was also a wrong main course on the menu: a vegetarian moussaka instead of the classic version. The kitchen did replace it, but with another problem. One of the new portions of moussaka was still ice-cold and frozen on the inside, while the outside was steaming from the heat. This restaurant is absolutely not recommended; what a terrible experience and unfriendly service.

Food was okay, Utrecht has lots of great options, this was fine but falls short of the rest of the restaurants. I ordered the gyros, bread was a little tough, meat was okay, salad was half a tomato, salad from a bag and a stick of cucumber. I wouldn’t be back in a rush. There was nicer Greek resturants

Starters came at exactly the same time as the main dishes. When we pointed this out to the waitress, she said she hadn’t taken our order and simply walked away. We ate the starters, only to then discover that, instead of the regular moussaka, we had been served the vegetarian option. This was replaced, but one of the two moussakas was frozen inside. The outside of the dish was steaming hot, while the meat inside was literally frozen. Would never recommend this place, terrible experience.

A Greek restaurant with various seating options, but it was crowded. We had to use the outdoor seating, which wasn't very pleasant as the space was small. We ordered five dishes: fried chicken (10/10), lamb shank with rice (5/10), Slavic chicken (5/10 - the chicken smelled fishy), stuffed grape leaves (3/10), moussaka (3/10), Greek salad (all tomatoes - 5/10), and chicken fillet (3/10). The prices were very expensive at 167. The service was quick, but it was an experience I wouldn't repeat because we left three-quarters of our dishes untouched.

We came Monday for a proper greek dinner and we found the most traditional greek restaurant that we could find. The service was great, the hosting lady was really sweet and gave a the right attention. The food was subliminal, the quality of it was very good and everything that we order we really enjoyed. Without asking what we wanted, they offered us food from the small shop across the street from the restaurant. Too expensive for the quantity. 18.5 euros to eat a tasteless, coarsely chopped pork gyro in a paper bowl with a wooden fork. The worst experience with Greek food abroad. The waiter who served us was not at all polite and what impressed me was that he asked for payment before he even brought the food. A disgrace that discredits Greek food.

Too expensive for a subpar experience: forgotten dishes, poor service. The food is good, but far too expensive, especially when you can find a place across the street with the same owner for half the price. In short, a tourist trap.

Over priced in regards to what you get in the plate. Giros without pita, a few fries in your plate, you take a soft drink it is 200 ml for 5 euro …. Service is not good , we came at 4 persons, ordered, the waiter come back with 3 meals. Next time I just take a pita bread in front and seat on the side.

Atmosphere completely ruined by screaming children of the owner or the owner's family? Children were torturing a small dog amidst loud shrieks under the guise of playing. The owner says nothing about it while guests sit eating on the terrace. An interesting glimpse into how the lower social class raises its children. The food was tasty.

I have been to many Greek restaurants, but I found the food here to be bad. We ordered mezedes for 4 people; the dishes consisted of 3 pieces, and in my opinion, the food lacked flavor. The service, however, was very friendly.

This was an impromptu visit since we were around. The host was super friendly and warm, and we were welcomed with a shot of Ouzo, a great start. We ordered pita bread with Tzatziki, and since we didn't know the menu well, we asked for recommendations. The grilled meat platter, Olympia, for 3 people did not disappoint. Perfectly cooked and more than enough, so we packed the rest. The ginger beer is highly recommended here too.

I've been coming here for years, but the prices are no longer proportionate to what you get. A pita meal comes with 5 fries. The kalamari doesn't have any fries at all for the price of a meal. Unfortunately.

We had 2 pita souvlaki and 2 drinks for lunch. The service was friendly and the food was brought to the table quickly. The sandwich was generously filled (perhaps even a little too much meat). We enjoyed our meal.

Good: Food & taste Terrible (not bad, but terrible): service, wait time, clean-up We basically waited 20mins for entre after ordering, and another 50+minutes for main dish, then they didn't pack the entre plates or empty drink bottles, and I went inside to check multiple times. The staff said that we have to serve people inside & outside, and I looked around and told her, you only have 3 tables full and more than 15+ tables empty. (So it wasn't that they were busy...) A lady came and sat next to our table, waiter took the extra plates and left the one for her. Then he never came back to take her order, she waited and looked, while the waiter was sitting and having a drink and chatting to others, lady ended up getting up and leaving - the moment she left, waiter got up and put the extra plate & menu back on the table.... I was shocked.... So... long story short, if you have tons of patience and time to waste for an average food, go for it. Otherwise, go to the fast greece food on the opposite (same owner probably) for a better tasting food and better service.

We really enjoyed our meal at Sirtaki. We tried their signature mixed meat platter, which was packed with flavor and a great way to sample different meats. The chicken was especially excellent — tender and perfectly cooked — and the fried cod was also delicious and crispy.

We had a larger group. Our whole group enjoyed our meals (Sirtaki, Leg of Lamb, Lamb Shank, soup of the day). Server was prompt and on point. Kitchen was fairly quick. Couple things could improve but we were willing to overlook: one of the soups was not as warm as the other + there was smoking smell at one point that likely came from outside (something we try to avoid having kids in our group).

The atmosphere is great. The staff seemed a bit disoriented. My husband had the mixed grill, which was excellent. I had the chicken gyros, which contained hard lumps of chicken meat. It tasted great, though. We complained and received a liqueur as compensation.

The listing states open until 9:30 PM, but at 9:13 PM it says "no, there's nothing left, we're closed"... From the owner's perspective, this might be understandable, but from the customer's point of view: it's quite annoying when you plan to eat on the way home and then find nothing. We think the listing should be updated to reflect the actual opening hours.

Ate delicious, tender souvlaki (chicken). In terms of seating space, it was a bit on the cramped side by the window, but otherwise, a cozy atmosphere.

We had to wait nearly two hours for our food, after which three of the four orders were not served as agreed. The excuse was that it was "too busy" and that they therefore just cooked standard fare. That is, of course, the world turned upside down; if you cannot handle the crowds, you should either hire more staff or accept fewer guests to ensure quality. When we asked for some extra rice as compensation, this was simply added to the bill. A very customer-unfriendly handling. Although the food tasted fine and the interior is very cozy, the portions are small and the service is substandard. Unfortunately, this was the last time for us.

We had dinner at this restaurant with family (six people, over €200 bill), but the experience was ruined by embarrassing customer service and blatant lies about a bottle of water. Here's what happened: We ordered tap water. Instead, they brought us a €7.50 750ml bottle. We pointed out the mistake, and the waiter categorically stated that they don't serve tap water. Too bad the table next to ours had it. When we showed him the next table, he tried to "climb up the walls" by saying that his colleague had mistakenly brought it to them. A blatant lie to force us to keep the expensive bottle. Shortly after, we asked another waitress for tap water, which she brought to us without any problem. So they did serve it! When paying, we mentioned what had happened, and the story changed again: at the cashier's desk, they told us they only serve it if you order other drinks. It's a shame we'd already ordered beers and a generous amount of food (about €35 per person). Feeling cheated for €7.50 on a total bill of over €200 is ridiculous. The lack of coordination among the staff is serious, but the dishonesty of the waiter, who blatantly lied to the customer's face, was unacceptable. Result: we felt not like guests, but like chickens to be plucked. Such behavior is shortsighted: to collect a few extra euros, you made a terrible impression. Not recommended due to the unprofessional attitude.

The food was delicious, but the waiter was rude. When we ordered, he told us they didn't serve carafe water (as is customary in Holland), which was available at the adjacent tables, but that we had to order the €7.50 bottled water (750ml). Disappointed with this experience. We were welcomed, had made a reservation, and had to wait outside for our table. It is very strange that your table isn't ready when you make a reservation. Then, they almost let another group go to our table who hadn't made a reservation. We had to point out ourselves that it was our table. Once ordered, we had to wait an hour for our food after our starter, and I received my food 5 minutes after the rest had already eaten. I ended up with a plate containing (exactly) 15 whole fries, 10 pieces of oily vegetables, and slightly raw salmon that wasn't quite warm anymore. My dessert tart was just a tart from the freezer. To top it all off, we ended up paying the wrong bill for another table. Not recommended for me.

The food was beautifully presented outside, however, the dish we chose at our table didn't match the one displayed outside. After pointing out to the owner that the sausages were missing, his reaction was unpleasant. If you're not careful, you'll be ripped off; for the price, it's still expensive. It's up to you.

Tried the gyro for the first time and it was good. You'll get a decent size portion, not the cheapest (€13,50) but for the location that's understandable. The gyro itself it tasty and a great mix of different meats, vegetables. Fries and tzatziki. For me the only downside was not the best tzatziki and too little, and the pita gets pretty greasy and difficult to eat especially with a wooden spoon. The location is perfect and there's spots to sit outside too. Overall it wasn't the best gyro but the combinations of different vegetables definitely added flavor. The meat was good, but sometimes a bit tough and chewy. When you need a quick bite to eat this is definitely a good spot.

We were a group, and we all ordered the same food. During the payment, we noticed that the guy entered different amounts for each person on the POS device. We did not experience honest staff there.

We've eaten at Sirtaki twice now, and we'll be back when we're in Utrecht. The waitresses are very friendly and attentive, there are no long waits, and the food is delicious. Portions are generous; after the main course, we were so full we didn't order dessert. It's not cheap, but considering the location, it's perfectly fine.

The food was good, but the staff made the experience quite unpleasant. A grumpy, middle-aged man served me and was very rude when I asked if they offered tap water, something quite common in many restaurants. They didn't offer it, which is their right, but very stingy for a restaurant with an average bill of 16-20 euros per dish. They should leave this sad gentleman (who seems to be the owner due to his advanced age and Greek features) in the kitchen or finance department; he clearly doesn't have a knack for dealing with the public. When it came time to pay, I was served by very kind women; it's a shame that one of them didn't take my order and answer my questions about the menu, my experience would surely have been different.

Charming restaurant in the center of Utrecht, with very friendly service. The food was delicious, and the selection on the menu makes it worth coming back! Even during peak hours, drinks and appetizers were served promptly, and the staff was very friendly and patient.

We were told we could get food across the street and sit there, so we ordered accordingly. When we returned, we were suddenly told this wasn't the intention and that they don't offer this service. However, there were several other people eating the same food at the same time, which made it very confusing and unfair. Unfortunately, communication was practically nonexistent, which made for an uncomfortable experience. When we requested a refund, they produced a wad of cash without any explanation and counted it out in front of us. This, even though we had paid by card, felt very awkward and unprofessional.

The chicken and fries were fine, but nothing special. The salad, on the other hand, was absolutely inedible: so incredibly cold. That was a shame, because it was quite filling. Unfortunately, I had to pass on it. The cold made it barely flavorful and even gave me teething problems. The atmosphere and the restaurant itself, on the other hand, were truly fantastic!

Visited the syrtaki with a group of friends, coming from Greece and being a chef myself, my expectations were not high , knowing that I would eat Greek food in the Netherlands! As a result, I was completely disappointed, the food was very tasty, large portions and very good bulk white wine! Continue to highlight our Greek cuisine in Utrecht…🧿

TL:DR You can spend 188Euros to learn a Lesson or you can learn it for Free: Rude staff, feeling you are being hustled, food just OK for Dutch standards. 5 meze dishes, 3 main dishes (Pasta with veal, and a stuffed burger) 3 large glasses of beer, one glass of wine and a small bottle of still water-> 188Euro for 4 persons. The greek staff were unusually rude cracking idiotic rude jokes in Greek. The Non Greek staff were more professional and polite but could not pronounce the food they were serving. Did not know that a meze in Greek culture is served first to be eaten in parallel with the main dish rather than a 1st -2nd course. Food was Ok by Dutch standards but very low by Greek standards. A restaurant not looking for return customers but a tourist trap looking to hustle customers as much as they can for just one time.

This was awful. The chicken (gyros) was dry and the pieces were rough. The fries were awful, and the eggplant mezze was tasteless and way too expensive for what it was. I understand it's an expensive place, but the food could use some love. Don't go to this tourist trap.

Unfortunately, my visit to this restaurant was very disappointing. The staff and management came across as unusually rude and dismissive, which made the overall atmosphere uncomfortable. It felt as though they were relying on the steady foot traffic of the historic center rather than offering respectful or attentive customer service. During our meal, a staff member approached our table and began speaking to us in a lecturing, confrontational way (just because we asked for utensils). The situation escalated to the point where the person became visibly angry, overstepped all the moral and physical boundaries, and ultimately screamed at us to leave. This was a shocking and upsetting experience, especially considering we were simply trying to enjoy our meal as other guests in this cafe. The whole day was ruined. As for the food, it was quite mediocre—certainly not worth the price point. Given the location, I expected better quality and a more welcoming experience. After my visit, I noticed several other reviews echoing similar concerns, particularly regarding the staff’s attitude. Based on my experience, I would recommend choosing another place if possible. There are many nearby restaurants that offer better service and value. I’m personally never going back to this place again!

If I could give less than one star, I would. This place should not be operating in the historic center or anywhere. The owner and staff were shockingly rude, arrogant and completely unable to communicate with customers. Instead of trying to understand a simple misunderstanding, the owner approached us with an aggressive and condescending attitude, lectured us on what we supposedly did wrong and showed absolutely NO respect for physical boundaries, even touching my arm and shoulder! When we tried to explain our side, he became angry and kicked us out, even though we had already paid and were in the middle of eating. This behavior is absolutely unacceptable. Judging by the many other negative reviews, this is clearly an ongoing issue that the management chooses to ignore. AVOID this place at all costs.

One of the worst service experiences ever. They didn't properly explain our options (take away vs. eating at the table) and then acted like we did something wrong when we asked for a plate. A delicious meal for 2 people for €70. However, we couldn't finish it all, even with two adults and an 8-year-old child. Don't expect a lot of vegetables and fries; it's all about the meat. Mmm. The price and quality are excellent! It was very busy, but we still managed to get a table. Unfortunately, sitting by the door is less pleasant when it's colder, as the outside door was open. It was busy, and it's understandable that you can't provide the service you'd so much like, but this was just awful. We had two main people who made it an unpleasant experience, hereinafter referred to as the bossy and the angry one. My girlfriend is half Greek, so she could hear parts of what they were saying. We had ordered tasty appetizers and a large menu for two. As mentioned, it was busy, and the bossy and angry one visibly reacted poorly to the crowd and snapped at the other staff. The appetizer arrived quickly and tasted quite good, while the main course arrived quite a bit later and looked good. The bossy man served us but barely made any contact. When we realized our menu had chicken instead of steak and we asked, he simply said, "No, that's just steak," and quickly walked away. Then he made contact with the angry one. They laughed together, looked at us, and quickly moved on. We thought, never mind, because it tasted fine otherwise... but it was strange. Then our tzatziki was gone, so we tried to order more. We were sitting near the kitchen, and both men frequently walked past us, visibly ignoring us. When we finally sat down clearly and with our hands up, we briefly interacted with the angry man. He looked at us briefly. I indicated that the tzatziki was gone, and he grabbed the container from the table, said nothing but looked strange, and walked to the kitchen. I waited a bit before eating, but the tzatziki didn't arrive. I didn't feel like waiting any longer, as we were almost at the end of our meal. The atmosphere from both men was really unpleasant. When we finished it, my girlfriend went to the bathroom, and I'd had enough of it there. I thought, "I'll pay quickly so we can leave." When I went to pay, I first walked up to the angry man and told him I hadn't received the tzatziki. He immediately printed out the receipt without me even mentioning I wanted to pay, shoved it in my hand, and tried to walk away. The receipt did show extra tzatziki, but I reiterated that I hadn't received it and that I wasn't going to pay for it. He said something, but I don't know what. He made strange hand gestures at me and angrily walked away again. I then went to the cash register and explained to the woman, clearly suffering from the bossy and angry man, that I wanted to pay, but that the extra tzatziki had to be deducted from the receipt. She understood and took care of it. After that, we quickly left. I'll never go to this restaurant again.

We went there to ask for souvlaki. The person that took our order did not even listen to us and at the end gave us a portion of gyros. This person had an attitude throughout our interaction. There are many other places where you can try good Greek food without these unpleasant staff.

I took one coffee take away ( Freddo Espresso). The coffee was Very bad. It was burned and watery. I’m from Greece and I know how a Freddo should taste. The price of it 5.80€. A joke.
