The food is delicious and I ate so fast I didn’t take any photos to post, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is very friendly ( just like back in Greece). I didn’t expect anything less and highly suggest it to anyone passing by!

Beautiful spot canal side for lunch. We ordered the Greek salad which was just perfect for lunch washed down with a glass of wine. Watching the world go by on the canal

Nice Greek restaurant in Utrecht along the channels (Oudegracht). Good food, friendly service. We went on Friday evening and could eat inside without reservation.

Nice atmosphere, tables by the canal. The food is good. Not the best I ever had, but the portions are generous for the price. It is a good place to visit if you are starving. Staff were friendly and did a good job!

Location is really nice, of course, however the food was not great and for the prices paid it felt like a rip off. The mussaka has corn (wt..), and my sister ordered fries which came with a small package of mayo, not the presentation nor food quality you expect for 25 euro dishes. Service was friendly and view of course is top.

Five stars! The location right next to the canal offers a wonderful view and a great atmosphere. The Dagschotel was fresh, tasty, and great value for money. Excellent service as well, will definitely visit again! 😊

What incredibly delicious food at a top location

Very beautiful spot by the canal, which makes up for a lot. The bread with dip was meager for what you pay. The bar snacks were a bit dry and nothing special. The service came across as uninterested and rushed. They sort of threw the dishes on the table. I don't know, I didn't think it was a winner.

Beautiful, atmospheric spot by the water. Had a nice lunch on a Monday at 11:40. Prompt and attentive service. A few tips: -open a few more parasols due to the hot sun at midday. -found the (rather full) plate with gyros, pita bread, fries, and raw onion a bit colorless. Add some tomatoes? But definitely recommended!

Here you can enjoy delicious Greek food, just like you get in Greece at authentic Greek restaurants with wooden tables and wooden chairs with wicker seats. At 25 degrees by the canal, it is also pleasant with the boats sailing by.

I visited this restaurant yesterday without a reservation, as I had heard many positive comments from friends and acquaintances who had dined there before. Although I had to wait a little for a table, the time passed pleasantly at the bar, where the staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always smiling from the very first moment. This positive impression continued throughout the entire evening. The service was attentive and genuinely warm, the food was delicious and of excellent quality, and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. It is one of those places that makes you feel truly welcome. I had a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!!

Bad experience caused by bartender The food was incredibly delicious and the table service was excellent. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was completely ruined by the guy behind the bar. Upon entering, he was already staring at us in a very strange and uncomfortable way, which felt absolutely unwelcoming. Additionally, he spent the entire evening more busy pouring drinks for himself than with his job. Very disruptive and unprofessional. Because of his attitude, we will not be returning here.

Please note that meals are only served from 4 pm onwards. Before that, there's a daily special, and otherwise brunch. However, the terrace is very nice.

Lovely Greek restaurant in a fantastic location, incredibly cozy with all the boats passing by. The food was delicious, with various fresh vegetables, a lovely specials menu, and delicious desserts. There is also a children's menu. Friendly and efficient staff. We ordered wine from the wine list, which is highly recommended: white and red wine from the Mega Spileo Wine Estate in Kalavryta, organic wines from the mountains of the Peloponnese—what a wonderful surprise!!

We had a delicious meal. Fantastic main course and the dessert phenomenal. We will definitely be back!

They brought out half a loaf of bread, totally plain. A bit confused, I asked if they had any butter or oil for it. They charged me 3.50 euro for the small pat of butter 😂😭 such a scam. If you want to come for the vibes, then come for the vibes, but expect nothing else

We ate here with a group (10+). Friendly staff, great service. It's a shame that very loud music was playing and we personally felt it didn't fit the atmosphere – more suited to a beach bar. The coffee comes from a machine, which is disappointing if you are used to high-quality coffee. The ice cream with the dessert was grainy – with a sandy texture.

Decent for a quick bite, but missing the traditional Mediterranean feel ​This restaurant is a good choice for a simple, casual meal. The food is okay for a quick dinner. But if you want a relaxed, authentic Greek meze experience, this is not the right spot. ​For example, they served the meze on huge, unnecessary plates that completely crowded our small table. Also, I prefer to drink my ouzo the traditional way, with water and ice, to sip slowly. Here, it was difficult to even get it in a normal glass instead of a shot glass. This really shows they lack that slow Mediterranean drinking vibe. ​On the positive side, the staff was friendly. The service was a bit slow, but still totally bearable. ​Overall, it is a decent place for a standard dinner, but it caters more to a quick meal than a long, relaxed evening.

We were a party of 11 people, our food arrived not only on time but it was DELICIOUS! The staff were super sweet. Highly recommend for any occasion to be honest, whether it’s for a large party or a small group.

We visited with our work team for a team outing and wanted to eat a bit outside the regular menu. We chose several dishes for shared dining, and the restaurant handled this perfectly. Small plates for everyone, well coordinated, and everything was well taken care of. Having worked in hospitality for 12 years myself, I was very satisfied with how smoothly everything went. Definitely worth repeating.

3.5 We had an early dinner at Taverna, which is conveniently located in the heart of Utrecht by the beautiful canal. The food did not taste bad, but it was not particularly good. The smell of the vegetarian Moussaka was unpleasant. The service was a little slow but very friendly. I enjoyed the atmosphere. With the 30% discount from the Fork, I'd say I'm fine. Would I return? Perhaps just for a drink on a nice spring day at a table by the water.

Very cozy. The staff was very friendly. The food was truly amazing. The only downside was that we had to carry the wheelchair downstairs.

3.5 half stars would actually be my preference. The meat from the mixed grill was perfectly prepared, the rice was okay, the fries mediocre. The salad was okay. Moussaka was tasty but not exceptional, the gyros was tender. We had bread with quite a few different spreads or dips. The desserts were generous portions. It was incredibly hot inside, some of the service was very pleasant, others clumsy. The food was, uh, boring, but decent. Personally, I wouldn't go there again. Unfortunately, it doesn't have anything that would make me come back.

This was a truly excellent social deal! A very friendly welcome, a nicely decorated restaurant, delicious food, and prompt service with time for a friendly chat. I'll definitely be returning to this restaurant. A tiny bowl of tzatziki with the baguette would have made it perfect.

We ate here yesterday with my husband and our three children. We hadn't made a reservation, but fortunately, there was still room for five people. All three children had gyros, and my husband had a mixed grill with three types of meat. The gyros was missing from the mix, which you would actually expect with a mixed grill. Otherwise, the meat was very tender and tasty. I had the salmon myself, which was delicious with a nice sauce. There were a bit few potatoes, but the vegetables were fine. The dessert afterwards was also very tasty. The only downside was a large, noisy group in the restaurant, but that can happen, of course. All in all, the five of us had a nice meal.

I always have a good time here. The food is nice and the staff is even nicer. They work hard and are always smiling and ready to help. I just spent a wonderful Christmas Eve here. Special thanks to Antonia (and the other kind lady who’s name I didn’t catch) 🌸

A cosy greek restaurant situated on the oud gracht in one of the old cellers. Good value dishes, generous portions and service was fast, polite and efficient. Recommend the fish options. A good range of beers and wines. Very popular on a Friday night so would recommend making a reservation. Seating for groups of 2-10.

We had a small table with high stools. The food was good. We hadn't made a reservation, and it was very busy. We really can't complain about the seating. It was 5:30 PM and packed.

What an unforgettable experience we had at Taverna in Utrecht, highly recommended! As soon as we walked in, the unique atmosphere of this Greek establishment felt like a warm blanket wrapped around our hungry bodies. The staff (especially Saliha) sensed our every need, as if we were telepathically connected. The chef's wine expertise and culinary skills are beyond words. We won't soon forget this meal! If you could give more than 5 stars, it would definitely be 11. So, if you're ever in Utrecht, you absolutely must fill your stomach here! ❤️😍

We're from Friesland and were visiting Utrecht. That's how we stumbled upon Taverna. Taverna is an exceptionally good restaurant with excellent service. You can tell it's a family business; you can feel the passion and love that goes into it. You don't see that much these days... If we're ever back in Utrecht, we'll definitely be back.

The menu is very poor. There is absolutely nothing to order. Only the name remains of Greek dishes. It's a shame. Out of respect, I only took a beer and had to look for another place.

Giving high ratings to the food here would be disrespectful to Greek cuisine. It was the first time I saw a Greek taverna that didn’t even know the brand of the ouzo they were selling. We ordered the tapas platter (chef’s selection). Since when did canned tuna become a Greek meze? 😃😃😃 The service staff was friendly. The location is already nice.

The staff were very kind and friendly and the location is very cozy, but unfortunately all of these do not make up for the low quality of the food. We love authentic Greek food and have been in Greece many times, however none of the things we ordered were delicious. The hot and cold appetisers plate wasn’t good, calamari wasn’t crispy as it should be, and the prawns were served along with very watery, poorly cooked vegetables. The prices are very expensive for the food we got.

Is deteriorating, we come here more often but the staff has deteriorated. Why is an order taken in English? She didn't speak Dutch, which was a shame and this also caused miscommunication because we didn't get what we ordered. But we come more often so it is still accepted. Then a table of drunken guests who were very noisy, indicated this to the waiter, but he did little or nothing. Had to look for the manager myself, but by then the tone had already been set and the evening was ruined. It's sad that you are not heard as a customer. The manager did offer another table but this was too late because nothing had been done about it before. Too bad, but as a Utrecht resident we don't come here anymore.

Gaat achteruit, we komen hier vaker maar het personeel is achteruit gegaan.Waarom word er een bestelling in het engels opgenomen?? Ze sprak geen nederlands beetje jammer en hierdoor ook miscommunicatie want we kregen niet wat we besteld hadden. Maar goed we komen vaker dus is nog geaccepteerd. Vervolgens een tafel dronken gasten die enorm luidruchtig waren, dit aangegeven bij de bediening maar deze deed niks tot weinig. Moest zelf de manager zoeken maar toen was de toon al gezet en de avond verpest. Toch triest dat je niet gehoord word als klant. Manager bood wel een andere tafel aan maar dit was al te laat omdat er eerder niks aan gedaan werd. Jammer maar als utrechter komen we hier niet meer.

Vale decir que estuvimos una hora justa para que nos sirvieran, y fue así porque nos quejamos. Vista la cocina a la vista sería improbable que pudieran darle licencia en otro país. The ambience and the food were great. The selection on the menu is poor, but doable. Only the service was unfriendly, listless, unfocused and not very friendly towards tourists.
