Friendly staff! Sandwiches were delicious and still warm! You can sit there a bit less comfortably with a child. But recommended! We hope they will be open on Sundays one day. Then we would come more often!

Pleasantly surprised by the good taste and quality of the bread. One of the best breads I have ever had. Definitely recommended. And not to forget the best currant buns, you can wake me up for that

Best cardamom rolls I've had, really excellent. Always has a line of locals waiting as well, but quick service anyway. There's some room to sit but not much.

It's my favourite bakery in Leiden, I really love their bread and buy it there as often as possible. The pastries are also great and the coffee. If you go too late in the day, you might not find much as they run out of everything. On Saturdays, the queues can get long, but still worth the wait.

Freshly baked and ORGANIC bread. Do I need to say more if you know how much rubbish is used in the food industry. So this bakery is a great relief. Friendly staff. Nice industrial interior, from the store you can see the kitchen/bakery where the bread is being baked. Possibility to enjoy coffee with a bun or other pastries 🥐 🥧🍮 Personally liked the cinnamon buns and the pastel de nata a lot! Their whole wheat bread is nice and heavy 👌 Want to try their cardamom buns soon!

The bakery is located in a cute alley and the shop is very cute although rather small. Even with a longer queue, the service is very quick, we didn't wait 5 minutes :) we had a kimchi cheese puff pastry, a cinnamon roll and a cardamom roll as well as two triple chocolate cookies and everything was excellent 😍 and the price was absolutely right

Without a doubt the best bakery in Leiden and it is not even close. From bread to pastries all are recommended and you can also sit down with one of their baking books with a coffee etc.

What a delicious coffee and the pistachio croissant sandwich is fantastic and that delicious bakery smell, then you automatically run into the store to buy something and a nice play area for children is really TOP.

My favourite bakery! Fresh bread, delicious cardamom rolls and pastel de nata. Try the delicacies of the season, always surprisingly delicious.

All the pastries that we tried were really good, and the highlight was the coconut raspberry pain au chocolat (it was amazing 🥲). Unfortunately the guy with tattoos who took our order was not that friendly, and forgot our orders a couple times so we needed to remind him multiple times, maybe not the best person to work with customers tbh 😅. But the food was good, definitely will visit again!

Beautiful, atmospheric location. They are a 'real' bakery that makes their own bread from start to finish, not semi-finished products from the factory that are baked on site. The whole wheat bread is highly recommended, quite expensive but you get a heavy, delicious bread in return that will last you a long time.

The bread is delicious! Quite pricey. The service was very slow. Went to chat with a colleague while she was cutting bread in half. Said little or nothing and already entered the amount into the ATM without asking us if we wanted anything else. We did not feel welcome and paid the amount entered and got rid of it. Too bad, we actually wanted to buy other products.

Yummy! Tasty products! I tried cardamom bun, cheese stick, chocolate croissant and pistachio croissant, and all of them are ultra tasty! Coffee is great too, also a wide range of sodas. Beautiful location in the historic town and kind staff.

Luxury bakery with very friendly staff and a beautiful, delicious filled display case with cookies, large real croissants, buns and pastel de nata. Appearance is professional. This generously filled pistachio croissant was unusually tasty! It has been on my wish list to eat here for some time. He did not disappoint. Such a delicious croissant and with this filling 🥰 That you have come to the right place can be seen from the line inside and just in front of the door.

This bread bakery in the heart of Leiden is as traditional as it can be. Here you can get the most delicious croissants and cookies, among many other products. It is not surprising that there is usually a line of people waiting outside the entrance, given the top quality of the products. Great bakery for sweets, we didn't try their bread but they looked amazing. The pistachio croissant is really nutty and tastes very pistachio. The cinnamon bun was good.

Very nice bread made with sourdough (our favorite is the Licht Volkoren) and pastries. The tompouces that they made for King's Day were excellent.

One of the best bakery in Leiden! You can find really good quality sourdough breads and yummy desserts. I recommend the olive bread and pastel de nata.

This is popular bakery in Leiden, sometimes with a few persons standing in line outside the outlet. Cinnamon bun may be the major option, yet it was often sold out when I visited in afternoon. Then I usually chose Cardamom bun, that has nice texture with the layers. I love the taste.

I think this bakery definitely brings a lot of people to this lovely alley. Kudos to them! Walked past this place a lot and was always half surprised by the queue of people and the price tags. A friend recommended this place and their almond croissants. Today I finally made the first purchase! Maybe I got the wrong product when I asked for the almond croissant. But it was really good. It was a very flaky croissant with kokos on top, with the filling of which I can’t place the ingredients and some chocolate (did not like the chocolate too much). It weighed quite a lot for a croissant if I may add. It was not cheap for a croissant but at same time, it was a big piece of pastry compared to your good old butter croissants. I imagine you could have it for lunch and you are all set after it. Overall, very pleased with this experience.

Honestly? Try everything. All of it. All the breads are natural, dense and flavorful. The pastries aren't artificial, but very flavorful. Best apple cake and chocolate cookies I've ever had. I love love love this place. The sellers are also very friendly and helpful

Nice little place, in the heart of Leiden, with great pastries (pastel de nata being my favorite) and great cappuccino (I have been looking for that for long, after leaving Italy, and finally I have a great one!). Bread also looks great, will try. And will come back again for sure!

Meest heerlijke brood kan je hier halen van Leiden en ook zeker de viennoiserie :) Wees wel op tijd en kom voor de middag al wil je zeker zijn van brood of bestel. Geweldig lekkere koeken. Wij gingen voor het hele assortiment omdat we gewoon niet konden kiezen. Een voor een geweldig !!! Onze favoriet was de croissant met espresso en hazelnoot. Aanrader !!!

I am so happy there is a bakery in Leiden that bakes proper sourdough bread using only water and flour and the starter! It's got a wonderful flavour. The cardamom buns are also lovely. Thank you so much for your pure baking without emulgatoren (emulsifiers) this is so much better for my gut, I've noticed a huge difference since eating your bread.

Kardemombroodjes zijn echt to die for. Echt een aanwinst voor Leiden!

Wir haben diese Bäckerei zufällig entdeckt. Das ansprechende Ambiente war einladend. Man kann sogar einen Blick in die Backstube werfen. Die Kardamom-Schnecke und der Triple-Choc-Cookie waren fantastisch. Wir waren begeistert. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Bezahlung in Cash und per Karte möglich.

Die schönsten Kardamomteilchen, die ich jemals gesehen habe!

Sinds ik deze bakker ontdek heb met een collega, ga ik elke keer als ik in Leiden ben hier een zoet broodje eten, met vaak een espresso of cortado erbij. Het begon met een kardemonbroodje, al snel gevolgd door een kaneelbroodje, waarna gevulde croissants, Pastéis de nata, pain au chocolat en anderen volgden. De keuze is uitgebreid, wisselt af en toe, maar het is altijd heerlijk! Het beste wat ik er op heb? De pain au chocolat. Nog nooit zo'n lekkere gehad, zelfs niet bij de beste bakkers in Frankrijk (en geloof me, ik heb er veel op). Deze heeft een geweldige structuur door de vele lagen bladerdeeg. En het is ook een prima plek voor een koffie. Ze verkopen zelfs hun eigen bonen uit Colombia. Binnen hebben ze een origineel modern interieur, waar je de bakkers aan het werk ziet met het maken van hun goddelijke creaties. Hier staan een aantal krukken met tafels tegen de muur en buitenraam aan. Buiten staan twee bankjes waar je heerlijk zit in een steegje waar aardig wat voetgangers doorheen komen.

Een dijkbrood afgenomen. Geurig.De korst is knapperig en de kleur verloopt van licht naar donkerbruin. Als je klopt klinkt het brood zoals het hoort. Je snijdt het en wat een fraaie structuur: iets grotere gaatjes dan normaal, licht zurige, geurige smaak. Zonder beleg er op een feestje om te eten. Prima

Geweldig! Echt een aanrader voor iedereen die van koffie of ambachtelijk brood en patries houdt.

De winkeldame had helemaal gelijk; het kardemombroodje is met dit warme weer lekkerder dan het kaneelbroodje, maar ook maar nèt! ☺️ Specerijen van The Good Spice maken het helemaal speciaal 👍

Super gezellige bakkerij met heerlijk coffee (La Marzocco machine) van Colombiaanse bonen. Verse croissantjes in een klein steegje in het centrum van Leiden. Met een klein terras met een paar zitplaatsen.

Vanmorgen heerlijke met noten en espresso creme gevulde croissant op. Deze werden aangeraden en zijn hemels. Super vriendelijk personerl.

Quite pricey (€2 for a croissant 🫣) but hands-down the best quality in Leiden.

Vandaag voor de harde werkers van "Herenboeren aan den Drecht" Iets lekkers voor de koffiepauze gehaald: kaneelbroodjes, haverkoeken en chocoladekoeken. Ze vielen goed in de smaak! Ik denk zomaar dat deze zaak er een paar klanten bij heeft 😁.

Amazing pastries, their cinnamon buns and pastel de natas are absolute fire & they also have delicious cookies. Need to come back on a Saturday as they have grilled cheese sandwiches then with kimchi as the weekly special!

Incredible bakery with space to sit in and enjoy a coffee in one of the nicest alleys in Leiden. Only problem I can see is that their cinnamon buns are too good and I have to fight the urge not to have one every day. The kimchi toasty is pretty good too!

Veruit het beste (zuurdesem)brood in Leiden vind je hier. En de prijs is erg schappelijk. Je proeft dat het met liefde en aandacht gemaakt wordt!
