A bakery with a very wide variety of breads, even the croissants were good, being French.

Delicious rolls and sweets, but it is very expensive. I spent €6.80 for 2 muffins!

Original, old-fashioned bakery. Coarse whole wheat bread is my favorite. I happily cycle 7km there and 7km back for it.

I bought apple strudel on Monday. You'd expect it to be fresh at this bakery. It wasn't fresh when I ate it. I think the apple strudel was from Saturday. So, not fresh. Be careful when buying anything there. I read that several people hadn't bought fresh pastries. The gingerbread felt like it came from the freezer or refrigerator...

Delicious products that I return for every now and then. There's a considerable difference in customer service from one staff member to the next; some are incredibly friendly, while others are too arrogant to even look you in the eye. The products are of good quality and delicious.

Today I was at the Frisian bakery and, to my surprise, there was a huge dog walking around. It was a real calf – it reached my waist – and I found that very unpleasant. I immediately reported this to the staff, but they responded that it was the dog of someone I know and that there are so many rules these days that it's "nonsense." Frankly, I find that worrying. According to the rules, dogs are not allowed in bakeries. This is for a reason: there is a risk of hygiene problems, such as dog hair in products or contamination from the dog's paws. They have very good bread here, which is why I usually enjoy coming here, but situations like this don't give me any confidence that hygiene is being taken seriously. I hope this will be addressed better in the future, because I would like to remain a customer.

My father has been coming to Us Bertus for years and is very satisfied. I arrived extra early because I wanted to see everything they sell and have in stock. Bossche Bollen (Dutch Bollen) look so beautiful, and I didn't really know what else I wanted to buy. I've had Frisian puffs from my father so often; they're simply a delicious part of my breakfast year after year. The staff are knowledgeable, patient, and they help you make the right purchase for you. The young man behind the counter didn't mind taking a picture of me, because a good review naturally requires a picture of the customer writing the review. As I write this review, I am very satisfied with the items I purchased. I also highly recommend Us Bertus. My visit was on Friday, June 27, 2025.

Just really great bread, good selection, something for everyone.

Early this morning, I bought three apple pies at Us Bertus on Doezastraat. I asked the saleswoman: "Are they fresh?" Yes, sir. When I got home, I discovered the pies were frozen. So, that was a bummer. I called the store and reported my complaint. The answer: "I'm not responsible for that; my colleague will call you back because we're very busy." So far, no. They called in the afternoon. An apology was offered, probably by the store manager. Long story short: Us Bertus pastries are delivered frozen and not made in-house. So, not as fresh as you'd expect from an expensive bakery. Too bad.

This is a top bakery. The products are good, delicious and so fresh. My favorite are the Sicilian almond cookies 😋

As always.... good and friendly service in a corona test store and most importantly.... the bread is great!

I went to Leiden for a day with a friend, and walked a route that took us along the Groenhazengracht, and I went in there and bought nibble sticks, well I've had quite a few sticks, but never anything as delicious as these. baker, and cracking fresh, I'm jealous that there isn't such a traditional baker in my neighborhood. Great class/craftsmanship, would love to come back again
