Stadswaag Leeuwarden in Binnenstad

Tijdens ons verblijf in Leeuwarden hier 2 keer heel gezellig en lekker geborreld, Bediening is vriendelijk en bestellingen werden vlot geserveerd. Het zit in hartje centrum, en heeft een gezellig terras.

My husband and I are visiting from Hobart Tasmania. The service was excellent so friendly and accommodated us with an English menu. We enjoyed the Lewwarder board a mixture of breads and dips along with nachos and some tasty Netherlands fried finger foods. Very tasty and big enough to share. The atmosphere was awesome. Next time we are in Leeuwarden we will definitely be back. Thank you to all staff.

Prachtige locatie, vriendelijke bediening, de koffie was erg goed, de friet en de salade top. De saté was vreselijk. De goedkoopste Chinees is beter.

Service is attentive and generally friendly, although there was a clear difference between the employees. The meatball with bread was quite dry and therefore not worth the price asked. The croquettes were okay but nothing more than that. Terrace with sufficient seating but somewhat close together.

Excellent service. Young age of staff but very respectful. I can absolutely recommend the Beet Waaghals! Delicious blond beer in combination with a tasty lunch! Recommended! Nice shops in the area for those who want to shop and for those who want to sit in the sun, be sure to stay seated!

Very slow service, and many people walked out and were not helped after sitting for a long time. the pastries at 5.50 were really too expensive. They were ridiculous little pieces

It is not known exactly since when Leeuwarden has a weigh house. The oldest mention of a weighing house dates from 1483. The weighing house mentioned in 1483 probably stood just east of the current building. The weighing house that stands today on the Waagplein (Nieuwestad) was built around 1590. The product that predominated at the weigh house in Leeuwarden was dairy, and especially butter. This was supplied in large numbers on the weekly market days. The weighing house in Leeuwarden was therefore known as the ''the butter weighing station''. The weighing house was in use until 1880. From that year onwards, weighing took place in the new stock exchange and weighing building on Beursplein. The public library has been located in this last building since the 1980s. The ''Butter Waag'' now houses the café ''De Stadswaag'' We ate there twice and both times it was more than decent. Very friendly and accommodating staff.

Een leuke locatie met goede maar iets ongeïnteresseerde bediening. Het eten was zeker lekker, maar zowel mijn baguette als de sandwich waren moeilijk om te eten, omwille van de grootte.

Badly made club sandwiches. Just tasted like bread and rabbit food. Chicken and bacon was hard to find. In general just low quality food for the top price. €100 for 5 bad sandwiches goes too far.

Excellent pulled pork sandwich! It’s a pity they only put cheese on the top of the nachos, so you’ll be eating most of it plain.

Op 9 augustus zijn wij gaan lunchen we bestelden een broodje warm vlees en soep.Het broodje vlees zag er niet uit het vlees was veel te hard gebakken zelfs zwarte randen.Heb dit niet geaccepteerd en heb een nieuwe gekregen. De soep werd bereid in de magnetron .Verder had ik goed uitzicht waar het eten werd gemaakt en ik moet u zeggen bijna alles komt uit de magnetron die ook zeer zichtbaar zijn in het restaurant. Van dit restaurant verwacht je wel klasse maaar uit een magnetron is uit ten bose.

We often go especially for Texan apple pie.

The only downside is the lawn in front of the Zwaag, which is used by vagrants and loitering youth in the municipality of Leeuwarden.

We had a cup of coffee here with Texas style apple pie. Different but tasty.

Best toast with pesto, ham, tomato and mozarella i ever had.

Very nice place to put, very good and friendly staff. The food was very tasty, the chicken satay and the salad, but it was too much for seniors. But excellent quality.

Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee at this restaurant on the terrace, which is partly covered with parasols. The employees are very friendly and hospitable.

In the middle of the shopping street with many people passing by, this is a terrace where you can enjoy a nice look.

na 20 minuten wachten was de bestelling nog niet op ons tafel. Binnen werd ik als belachelijk aangekeken, alsof ik stond te liegen. Enorm terleurstellend op een dag als vandaag, hemelsvaartdag. Drukte kunnen ze niet aan!!!

Na vele jaren weer eens terug naar de Stadswaag. Wat een top-plek is dat geworden, chapeau! De sandwiches zijn echt top, ruim belegd, niet te kort! :-))) Leuke bediening, je kunt zien dat ze een hecht team zijn. En niet te vergeten de heerlijke eigen Waaghals bieren, de Tripel is een absolute aanrader!

We hebben gezellig kop koffie/thee gehad. We hebben een heerlijk warm appeltaart met caramel en nootjes en toef slagroom erbij genomen. Deze was erg lekker..... en aanrader👍

Always cozy and a nice atmosphere

A pleasant surprise 🙂. Attracted by this characteristic building in the center of the square and by the beautiful smile of one of the nice girls on the team, I entered and... wow!! A historic and at the same time super welcoming environment that you wouldn't expect from the outside. Food prepared with care and very good. Clean and not noisy place. Pleasant surprise... at the end of lunch I ordered an espresso coffee, already resigned to drinking a pale imitation of our Italian espresso and instead... I found and enjoyed an excellent coffee!!! Congratulations to all the staff. I highly recommend it. It will certainly be one of my favorite destinations during my Sunday walks in Leeuwarden.

The food was delicious, but it could all be a little better. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. Nice sandwich, good thick too. My friend's croquette on bread bread was also very good. Thick and fresh. Nothing to complain about. The garnishes that came with it were slightly less. Leaves...spinach or some type of lettuce that I don't know with tomato pieces that tasted very much like garlic. For a drink I enthusiastically ordered the homemade ice tea. It was more like water with ice and fruit. I didn't taste any tea. The fruit in the ice tea was frozen. I don't know if I meant to eat it...but frozen fruit is difficult to eat and because it's frozen it doesn't add any flavor to the water it's in... So that was a disappointment. For "dessert" I ordered the Cheesecakefactory cheesecake. Man! that was truly a meal in itself. Very thick and powerful. There was no air or space at all. Perhaps I am not familiar with the factory cheesecake...then it is simply that tastes differ. But the pathetic flan filling of strawberries in thick syrup that was served with it was really not tasty. Didn't look appetizing either. There was fresh, good whipped cream, but because the cheesecake itself is so fat, full and rich, there is no need for whipped cream... that's too much of a good thing. Some fresh fruit with a light sweet/sour syrup would have been better. And there was a grease stain on my friend's glass. So it was all fine but could be better. Service was really good by the way. Was fast and friendly!

This afternoon I enjoyed a nice cup of coffee with my elderly parents after a visit to the optician with a delicious home-made apple pie with warm caramel sauce and whipped cream. They enjoyed it!! Highly recommended. 👍

Nice place for lunch! They have super tasty dishes for very good prices. Too bad dinner is not possible here. Location is also great, right in the center of Leeuwarden.
