I went to get a coffee using a loyalty points system. I did not know though that this particular store was a franchise, and not a branch, so they can not accepts these points. I had already activated it, and so lost the points (as it has to be used in a particular amount of time). I was not angry at the baristas or manager, but I was a bit disappointed. In came Laura. Let’s just say, she sorted me out and I didn’t even ask for anything. What a freaking star. I don’t live here, but if I did, I would return every time just for her. Thanks Laura.

She argued about my order (a latte with heavy cream) until another employee confirmed it was available, then made the drink incorrectly. Completely unprofessional behavior..not what I expect from Starbucks. Management should seriously address this.

Last week, there was a disruption at the Dutch Railways (NS), which left me stuck at the station for over an hour. I went to work at your cafe and bought a coffee. Then you gave me a discount ticket for another drink. When I came back today, it turned out that the ticket was not only three months out of date, but your colleague gaslighted me by saying you never gave it to me. So, I said it's fine, but I'm only here because of the discount you literally gave me last week. And that woman just laughed at me. A truly unparalleled level of disrespect.

I had a truly appalling experience at this Starbucks. I wanted to grab a quick drink before my train last night, but what I encountered was absolutely outrageous. A customer was treated rudely by an employee named Zoë, and instead of responding professionally, she, another girl, and another woman who I believe was the manager, stood there laughing and scrolling on their phones. Extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. I ordered a Mango Dragonfruit Refresher—I always order one—but this time, I didn't even get any fruit with it. It's supposed to have fruit in it; I've worked at Starbucks myself, so I know exactly how it's supposed to be. A traveling couple who ordered two drinks were also ignored. The employee made no effort to properly serve their drinks or even audibly call out for them, even though it wasn't busy at all. Then the manager suddenly yelled loudly, startling them, and you could just see them laughing at them afterward. Truly ridiculous and disrespectful behavior from the staff. I hope this is taken seriously, because this kind of staff ruins your entire brand. Not recommended.

I just got a matcha venti today and told her they need 5 pumps of vanilla ice cream and that I'd like it without ice. I paid almost €8 for it, and then she first gave me a matcha with ice cream. I then told her I asked for no ice, and then she gave me a half-full cup without any vanilla ice cream. She tried to explain that I paid €8 for a half-full cup and that it's normal. I asked if I could get a refund, and she said no and gave me a full stamp card for a free drink. Yeah, ridiculous. I hope she gets fired.

I find the service very bad. I came there twice in a row, but there was no matcha frappe . The staff said the blender was broken. I told them to drink regular, hot matcha with milk. According to the staff, they didn't have any. And he told me to go to another store. I solved the problem and said I wanted caramel macchiato. After I ordered, I saw that another customer got hot matcha with milk. I don't know if there was a miscommunication or if he just didn't want to listen.

The staff works incredibly hard and is kind in every manner. The manager, however, is a complete opposite story. When your team isn't performing how you'd like, one should come forward and help them. You motivate them to do things you find important. Every job has a learning curve, and as a manager, you have to show a little patience. Instead, this hell of a manager decided to yell at her staff (which was doing a great job, by the way) with plenty of customers present in the store. It almost makes you reconsider if you want to spend your money at such a store. Regardless of her experience within the chain, you don't treat people this way. Poor management, appalling to the customers. The staff, however, work great and deliver the drinks effectively and fast. What a shame.

I understand where some of the reviews are coming from, although I personally don't think they're necessarily rude. They were a bit dry and didn't mask maybe, but not unkind. They treated me ok and made my drink exactly how I wanted, and I like my Starbucks order personalized ALWAYS. Not every interaction with a service industry worker needs to be a highly acted scene from a romantic comedy. People want drinks, they make the people their drinks. That's my opinion.

Rude appalling customer service by a female Indian/South Asian barista who refused to give her name and looked like she hated her job and hated serving customers. I was treated begrudgingly and snapped at for no reason. When I raised my concern with her attitude she return with a rude: What’s your problem? I was simply startled and shocked with this level of customer service from Starbucks which I never experienced before and I visited so many Starbucks branded at more than 50++ countries! I had a great experience at Starbucks today! I ordered a latte with oat milk, but I realized my girlfriend doesn’t like oat milk after the fact. I went back to the counter to place a new order with regular milk, and the barista was so kind—she offered to remake the drink without charging me for a new one. It was a thoughtful gesture, and now my girlfriend is happy with her drink! Excellent customer service, and I really appreciate the friendly staff. Thank you, Starbucks! 😊

Almost a year later and still the same story. Staff talking all the time. I came in, the lady looks at me and continues her conversation. I say: can I be helped? Madam: oh yes! I then give my order, and I have to wait another 2 minutes before she takes my order because she still has to talk to a colleague who has finished work. And that colleague also does not say: hey, help the customer first, but continues to talk calmly. I work night shifts and only have a short period of time to get to the train. You work at a station so this unprofessional behavior is really unprecedented. I find it strange that you don't do anything about this despite the many bad reviews. Time: between 8:45 PM - 8:50 PM

Bad experience, unfriendly service My last visit to Starbucks was a complete disappointment. I ordered a large (L) hot chocolate with whipped cream, but got a small (S) without whipped cream. In addition, I gave my name, but my order was called up under a completely different name. Because of this, I didn't know that my order was ready and I kept waiting, thinking that it was still being worked on. Finally, the barista called for another hot chocolate, and when I indicated that this could not be my order (because the size and whipped cream were wrong), he responded in a smart-alecky and unfriendly manner. He then refused to add whipped cream, despite my having clearly ordered it. Never coming back.

This morning at 6am we were at the door for a cup of coffee, they would open at 6am, it said online and on the window. There were 2 ladies in the Starbucks, 1 of whom leisurely put the chairs on the floor and the other was messing around behind the bar. When we tapped on the window at 6:05 am the girl behind the bar looked at us angrily, tapped her watch and shouted that she was opening in a few minutes when she should have been open for 5 minutes. Because we had to catch our train, we left and got a delicious cup of coffee at Julia's. When we left there, the Starbucks was still closed... Bad service, too bad.

Ordered a java chip frappuccino in the morning. The employee who took my order spoke like an NPC and felt very robotic. The person after me heard the same text in the same monotone voice. A smile was also hard to find. Must say that it was fast and efficient (even though there were only a few people inside). Can't say I agree AT ALL with the bad reviews regarding bad service or unfriendly staff. Well, I just treat people with respect and kindness and get that in return. Went to the SB quickly today (30-8 20:45) and Esam is really a sweetheart! Super friendly and helpful. Evi from the drinks was also fast and friendly. And if you think it's overrated or overpriced you should just get your drinks elsewhere. SB has NEVER been cheap in any country. Also a tip: just treat service staff how you want to be treated and then you will see that you will get 100% back!

It’s leveraging the name of the brand and the locations they’re able to rent for the shops but the quality they once had is gone (at least in the Netherlands). One of the lesser Starbucks locations. Especially for a branch at the station, it leaves much to be desired. Not all staff are fast enough. Which is really desirable at the station. They are very attentive and friendly. The coffee still tastes good, but it really doesn't look like what I'm used to from other locations and how the marketing presents it. The price is also no longer suitable. Today I walked to the station at 8 o'clock and it was still closed. So vague. It was also closed a few weeks ago due to circumstances.

Unfortunately, not customer friendly place. Twice, the staff was asked by clients to help with phone charging. The plugs that are available under the seats don't work, and ppl were denied access to a working plug. Especially since this place is at the train station, consider helping the customers with this. People have train tickets and wallets on the phones. If for some reason you don't like charging ppls phones inside the bar, then fixing the plugs under the seats is the way to go. Then your work doesn't have to be interrupted with requests/complaints and customers are able to have the entire Starbucks experience.

The good old days are gone. Recently I went to Starbucks for my Frappuccino and I received the sad news. The new legislation stipulates that both hot and cold drinks must be in a paper cup without a lid. There goes the whole aesthetic and the idea that the eye wants something too. The experience of the delicious frappuccino and the beautiful cup in which you can see the frappuccino with whipped cream and drizzle is over. I will never have coffee in the spring again, even though I have been in love since the first time I tasted one in Florida America. This was long before Starbucks existed in the Netherlands. I think it's downright ridiculous. The presentation is no longer equal to the price. You now have to hold the drink extra firmly, otherwise it will slip out of the cup. I'll see you again in October for my pumpkin spice latte. Too bad this Starbucks is very unfortunate. I think you will regret this as many people will no longer spend their money on your overpriced drinks that are now so poorly presented. Just take a good look at these beautiful pictures people because this is over. The last photo is the weak infusion of a frappuccino my friend and I got.

I went with a colleague to get some coffee at around 1 PM on 18 September 2025 (Thursday). There were at least three baristas behind the counter and only two people ahead of us, yet we had to wait nearly 10 minutes to be served. When we finally ordered, we were informed that there was no more tiramisu latte or cold brew, so I just ordered an iced Americano. After getting my order, I went over to the self-service station to add some syrup to it, as that's usually where customers can get sugar, syrup and serviettes. Upon seeing that there was no syrup there, I went back to the counter to ask for it. This was the conversation that ensued between me and one of the female baristas working at the time: Me: "Can I get some syrup added to my drink please?" SLCBarista: "Then you have to pay." Me: "Okay, I will pay." SLCBarista: "No, pay for another drink." Me: "But...why? You can't just add some syrup to this drink?" SLCBarista: "NO BUT THEN WE LOSE MONEY." Appalling service all around.

This morning I got a steak tartare sandwich for the second time. For €5.25 (!), you'd expect a tasty, well-filled sandwich. Unfortunately, the steak tartare was already a very meager, thin layer, and the white baguette wasn't fresh but tough. I go here almost daily, but I won't be getting a sandwich again. It's a shame, as there are few alternatives in the area.

Great Starbucks. Located at Rotterdam/The Hague Airport. You really need a plane ticket to get in. The staff is incredibly friendly and fast. The coffee and food are simply excellent, Starbucks-level, and the prices are too. Since it's an airport, it can get very busy at times and then become incredibly quiet the next moment. The tables can sometimes be a bit messy and dirty, but when it's quieter, they're quickly cleaned up. We always come back here when we fly from Rotterdam Airport. Highly recommended.
