We had a fantastic meal! The restaurant has a lovely, authentic atmosphere and the service is relaxed and friendly.

The food was delicious, as always. But this time we enjoyed the anniversary menu. Every course was a treat, accompanied by a lovely bottle of wine, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant. We enjoyed it so much that we immediately made another reservation with our daughter and son-in-law.

A unique restaurant in a unique location. Housed in a former train station, right on the railway line. The interior is simple yet cozy. Friendly service and, above all, excellent food. Italian cuisine as it should be, using the finest ingredients. The dishes are beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. A delicious bottle of Italian wine completes the experience. Highly recommended; we're fans!

We had a fantastic lunch, a 5-course meal with a good balance of flavors and portions. Truly authentic Italian. A very pleasant atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. A fixed menu with truly delicious dishes. There are also some lovely vegetarian options. And the focaccia is truly divine. The service is also top-notch. In short, a big 10.

Went here four years ago and came back with high expectations, which were 100% met. Fantastic fresh food, nothing more or less to say. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the province of Utrecht, highly recommended.

This is a very nice restaurant. That said, the portions are tiny and especially when considering the price. Our party actually went for pizza after eating here because we were all still very hungry. Also, it was not known to us beforehand but there was no menu. The waiter simply gave us two appetizer options and two main course options whereas we were expecting an extensive menu of typical Italian choices (e.g., pasta, meats, fish, salads, etc.) The food was good just not enough of it.

A truly fine Italian restaurant! The concept is homey and irresistible: no menu, but a daily changing four-course meal. For the main course, you choose fish or meat. It's like dining with good friends, who also happen to be wonderful cooks! We had salmon with potato mousseline, followed by crispy fried polenta with ragù; a piece of chicken with stir-fried endive, and dessert: strawberry sabayon. Everything perfectly cooked and flavorful. The location is beautiful: the former Soesterduinen station. The intercity trains to and from Amersfoort thunder past your table, which adds to the ambiance. And the service is calm, professional, and friendly—no wonder the restaurant was packed on a Friday evening. And in good weather, you can sit outside on the terrace among the trees.

We had a wonderful lunch with delicious dishes (starter, entrée, main course, and dessert). We were able to sit outside in the shade in a lovely spot. The service was excellent.

Extremely disinterested service. We arrived as two helmeted cyclists for coffee and pastries and asked for the menu, but they wouldn't accept it. Period. No explanation or hospitality, so I won't be eating there.

We all got food poisoning after the last dinner there

Restaurant is in a beautiful location. Beautiful building. The food was a huge disappointment. We eat vegetarian and vegan and you can indicate that when making a reservation. That gives us good hope! What we got was a bruschetta tomato (on a piece of baguette with burnt spots) pasta pesto and a piece of polenta with broad beans. Very simple dishes and standard and that for €50 per person for just the food. Too bad!

Been here before and it was great yesterday too! Lunch outside, delicious risotto and lamb with broad beans. Then share a tiramisu… really good!

Elegant food, excellent service & good atmosphere. Set menu so you don’t get to choose, the homemade bread (similar to focaccia) with the olive oil went really well with the glass of wine, the beef carpaccio & the pasta with aubergine & parmigiana was delicious & as the main course the skate wing truly delicious! The Tiramisu was also good, a little too sweet for my liking. Overall excellent taste of Italian food. Will definitely go back.

Special gem. The building, the friendly service but certainly also the surprisingly delicious food. No hassle with deciding, but a fun and delicious menu that is prepared for you. The extra dish this time was a delicious truffle and parmesan cheese soup. We were very happy to have added it.

Arrived late due to moving. And what a welcome! In a monumental station building you will be surprised with a weekly menu, adapted to the season. Host has knowledge of his products and takes the time for you. The food is fresh and wonderfully balanced. The restaurant is located along the track, every now and then a train passes by, which gives it a special touch. All in all we enjoyed it exceptionally! Ps. We'll be back for the limoncello

Delicious authentic Italian food! No fixed menu, they tell you which 2 main courses you can choose from the 2- or 3-course lunch. Atmospheric restaurant & friendly service. Delicious focaccia! The train thunders past quickly, but that makes it a special experience. Recommended!

I had an honest meal and the service was top notch

This place you need to go to. Good food, service of a standard one seldom experiences in the Netherlands and an absolutely lovely venue!

The food, the welcome and the service are provided with attention and love for the profession. And all that in a great location. We will definitely come again!

Our group does not eat meat, this was clearly experienced as confusing by the host. Then there was a fairly complicated explanation of the options regarding the number of courses and dishes, which also came across as hasty and pushy. We went for two courses, the portions were extremely small, this did not qualify as a meal at all. The pasta pesto was very salty and very al dente, the polenta was three bites that were otherwise fine. The food arrived very quickly and within 30 minutes it was back outside.

Delicious food, back to Italy. Cozy atmosphere and super tasty food! Our wishes were also taken into account. We will definitely come back!

I had dinner at this restaurant last night and it was a terrible experience. After asking several times, we finally received our main course after 45 minutes. When my husband politely indicated that waiting 45 minutes for a main course was very long, the owner started to apologize. We left it as it was, once we ate the owner of the restaurant came with a receipt in my husband's face to prove how long we had waited, very unprofessional. My husband was completely surprised and said this was really not okay. The owner was so offended, there was no decency that he LITERALLY kicked us out during the main course. Very unfriendly and unwise unprofessional. Not recommended. Never been treated so unfriendly before. Customer is king, they have never heard of this. UPDATE: The owner wanted to make us pay but we didn't want that because you put us out on the street halfway through our meal. And that only because we indicated that the meal arrived very late. So nothing nice, just antisocial.

The food is decent, but not worth the price. The attitude of the owner is really what makes this place one star.

Vitello Tonnato was the start. Well made, but a super small portion. Then Risotto. Unfortunately, I didn't find this one very special. Little taste and not something where you can say that the chef has tried very hard. Then veal cheek with lentils. Unfortunately again a minimal quantity. My expectations were different. I expected Italian exuberance. That is not the case. All in all it was somewhat disappointing, good but not special. It is a pity that the restaurant's response indicates that the guest must ask for more or larger portions. That doesn't seem like desirable behavior to me. It's turning the problem around. The guest is to blame because he doesn't ask for anything.

You no longer have to go to Italy for very tasty Italian food (and the accompanying Italian atmosphere). You will also find that in Soestduinen. Good food, a pleasant host and a nice environment. You can tell that the restaurant building used to be a station, because every now and then you can feel a train passing nearby. The train passengers rushing by may not know what they are missing, but you do know that you should be happy that you can sit in Stazione Pazzo instead of on the train.

Friendly welcome. 1st dish was delicious, coppa with pumpkin and burrata. Between course a simple polenta, tasted fine, but not a culinary masterpiece. As a main course, a delicious veal steak or white fish with spinach and pesto. Dessert was too large a piece of wet tiramisu to make the stomach feel full. The limoncello was offered as if it were on the house, but afterwards it was royally calculated. Wine choice was almost dictated and you had to repeatedly ask for it when pouring. The final feeling was that, apart from the dessert, we had a delicious meal, but that the youthful service was substandard and the bill of €175 was out of proportion.

Price-quality ratio completely lost. The menu: eggplant with fresh tomato puree and burrata + beetroot risotto with piece of gorgonzola + tail piece of halibut with cabbage and mini bacon. I can make this menu for less than 15 euros per person. The starter and primi in particular are dirt cheap to make. And if you choose halibut, don't serve the tail, but a good piece. For dessert a too wet tiramisu. Add two more glasses of wine (could have been 3, but they forgot to bring one wine) and you pay 160 euros. You pay for the 'experience': a pretentious restaurant (that sells cheap food like it's gold).

The restaurant has a beautiful terrace where you can enjoy. And then the ambiance... You really feel like you're abroad! It is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy a delicious Italian meal in an attractive environment. The staff also certainly deserves a special mention. They are incredibly friendly, accommodating and really think along with you. Which makes the atmosphere all the more pleasant. You immediately feel welcome! Definitely recommended.

Ate yesterday. Food and service excellent as always. But a strange location to accommodate 10 Polish workers on the top floor who repeatedly walked across the terrace with half-bare bodies with bottles of drinks and cigarettes to nestle in the bushes directly opposite the terrace as if it were a garden. In any case, this took away a lot of the experience for me. Shame!

After a long working day we were looking for a place to eat nicely and expected a regular Italian restaurant. Well, after being told that there would be just one "Menue of the day" we knew it would be something special, and yes, that it would be somewhat more expensive than a regular Osteria. And we were not disappointed, everything was perfect, the main course was a dream! Service, food, location, (weather), just as it should be. Well, we understood the question for a Limoncello as an invitation "on the house", that was not the case, and, seriously, with that price label for dinner you could afford it!

Last Saturday the four of us had dinner in this attractive restaurant. (for the 1st time) We (including the children) are very enthusiastic about everything! The beautiful building, the beautiful ornaments on the ceiling, the furnishings! We had a delicious meal, truly finger licking good! The welcome was very good, the service very good! The food was fairly rustic, but pleasant. A bit like a good Dutch home-cook making Italian food with supermarket ingredients. In Italy, or with a more ambitious Dutch hobby cook, the quality of the ingredients would be better, which would elevate the fairly simple dishes. I love simple, rustic food, but at 75 euros a person this restaurant should be able to source better ingredients. An example is using supermarket quality San Daniele ham rather than a top grade version made by a small producer. The cooking was fine, but not refined. There were also a few small lapses like the boiled egg served too cold out of the fridge. A positive note is the bread, which was very good. The service had a lot of room for improvement. The ribeye didn't come with a practical cutting knife, for example. The wine offering was problematic. The white was served too cold and wasn't fresh. The red was served too warm. The staff didn't seem to know anything about the wines apart from the main grape. From the young boy that served us initially that is excusable because he was clearly inexperienced and it wasn't his fault that nobody has told him that they don't make wine in Venice (where he said several of the wines were from, possibly mixing it up with the Veneto region). The owner (presumably?) didn't demonstrate much knowledge either. When asked where the wine described as Sangiovese was from he mentioned Chianti. I didn't get to study the bottle, so maybe I was wrong or I just misunderstood him, but this didn't seem to be the case. They don't have a wine list or menu and if the staff also doesn't present the wines clearly this makes things unnecessarily difficult. As with the food, the wine didn't deliver on price/quality. The wines were sold at higher by the glass price than the value of the whole bottle. I'd happily pay upwards of 10-15 euros a glass for a good quality wine or more than a hundred euros for a good bottle in a restaurant, but 7.50 euros a glass for a wine in a category you can buy for 6 euros a bottle and is served at the wrong temperature is a pass for me. Italy has a lot of wines that offer great value for money in the lower and middle price brackets and that a restaurant can get very good margins on, so this isn't snobbery, but a missed opportunity. In summary, they execute at the level of a fairly simple but decent neighborhood restaurant, but because they have priced themselves into the same category as Michelin bib gourmand restaurants it is difficult to be forgiving about the mismatch in quality.

Based on my only experience at this restaurant, I do not recommend it. First of all, the price-quality ratio is not good. In addition, the experience was not as hoped. Few examples: ○Less than 10 minutes after arriving we received the starter on the table: a bit too quickly. ○Appetizer was vitello tonato: a bit corny for an Italian specialty restaurant. ○Wine was poured without any explanation. ○Main course was only meat, without side dish. ○We felt like we were offered a Limoncello on the house, but they were just plain on the bill for €8 each. In the end we had quite a nice meal and drinks. But the bill was very hefty and we didn't think it was worth that amount.

After the 3rd miss (1. tables to the left and right of us immediately received the delicious warm sandwich - while we had actually been assigned a table 10 minutes earlier; 2. the waiting time between the different dishes of our 4-course menu - not a lousy amount say - was many times longer than that of the other guests; 3. my 2nd glass of wine didn't come through while the group next to us was being talked to in detail about their 2nd drink. Sorry! How annoying, I will correct it immediately' expected when we ordered 2 espressos after our dessert. . . were waiting for 5 minutes. . . the neighbors ordered their coffee and . . . 2 seconds later they were served their coffee!!! To the question 'anything you want?' we responded with 'we would also get 2 coffees', the following text came: "No idea whatsoever!". My hospitality background makes it difficult for me to do this. . . so unfortunately - no positive review. I wonder if I will get a correct response to this! What a great restaurant, cozy atmosphere, nice service, delicious food. It is a fixed menu with fish or meat. Since it is the old station, you have to wait for additional trains. Unfortunately no photos of the dishes, but each one is worth it. Highly recommended for a beautiful summer day.

Beautiful location, unique place in the Netherlands. Few Italians I know have such their own style of cooking. The passion and love for food radiates from it. The service is friendly. Keep it up, I'll be back!!

Had a lovely lunch on the terrace. The food is very tasty and looks beautiful. Taste is great and the homemade tiramisu is highly recommended. All in all, the food is on the expensive side, but in my opinion worth it, the wine, on the other hand, is too expensive, which is a shame. If it were priced a little more friendly, we would definitely visit more often. The location is beautiful, right along the track (old station) with a great terrace. Plenty of parking for both bicycles and cars. Service is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Heerlijke plek om te zitten na een lange wandeling. Welkome ontvangst! Dit keer waren we er alleen voor een aperitief, want de keuken was gesloten. We waren behoorlijk teleurgesteld over hoe weinig wijn er werd geschonken in de wijnglazen. Echt opvallend! De 2e ronde hebben we dus maar overgeslagen en we komen hierdoor niet meer terug voor een etentje. Een gemiste kans!

Nice place to be. Not your average Italian (read Pizza restaurant) but refined cuisine. May therefore also be slightly more expensive. Quality excellent and enough attention from the friendly staff. It just gets quite hot and stuffy after a while. A window could be opened. Also quite noisy. The noise level increases as the drink flows. Apart from that, we will definitely come back

Too salty and too expensive for what you get, but nice.

Very nice location, very tastefully decorated, cozy atmosphere/(candle) light, tasteful music at the right volume. Fantastically balanced taste of the starter, the main course and the dessert. Good advice regarding the menu. Very attentive but not intrusive service. My coat was taken away and I was helped back into my coat. Excellent ingredients, very good coffee, tiramisu with mascarpone, as it should be. Excellent focaccia. Portions should not be smaller. Not cheap, but the good ingredients and the excellent overall package are worth the price. Recommended for a cozy gourmet evening at an Italian restaurant!

Vanmiddag geluncht. Eten was prima van smaak en royaal voldoende qua hoeveelheid. Wijn was ook goed. (Helaas wordt je daar, zoals tegenwoordig in vrijwel ieder restaurant, ahw “een poot uitgedraaid”.) Service goed en zeer attent. Punt van aandacht: nu het buiten frisser wordt, graag de kachel aanzetten/wat hoger zetten. Het was, zeker aan het raam waar wij zaten, te koud. Vanavond voor de eerste keer hier gegeten: prima kwaliteit, fijne bediening. Zeldzame klasse!

Kan niet anders zeggen, dit is het beste Italiaanse restaurant wat ik in NL heb ervaren. Voedsel is grandioos. De sfeer met de denderende treinen en gezellige sfeerverlichting is briljant. Alles ademt Italië uit. Ga hier vaker komen.

Bediening ok. Leuk pand. Slechte prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. Gangen waren beetje onduidelijk, we vonden 50€ genoeg voor 3 gangen en kozen 2 gangen met nagerecht. Dit bleek geen goede keus. Complete maaltijd waren paar stukjes rode biet met mozarella (gang 1) en een klein stukje vlees (gang 2). Nagerecht was zeer gemiddeld. Wel 150€ moeten betalen. Wij komen hier niet meer terug.

We have been quite a few times to Stazione Pazzo, but for the first time we were very disappointed. The food was just OK, not at all what we remembered from previous visits. The vegetarian menu was particularly disappointing. The starter for everyone was a simple salad of lettuce, ham and blue cheese. For the vegetarians the large pieces of ham were replaced with a tiny bit of parmesan - not very original. The vegetarian main course was pasta pesto. Nice enough but it was just a very, very small plate of spaghetti with pesto. nothing else. Not even parmesan cheese grated on top, or some veggies. Wasn't really a main course at all, and for the price actually not acceptable. Also the fish main course was ridiculously small, even for fine dining. The cheese course was also not very special. And then what we really missed was good personal service. Everything felt rushed and business-like. We had a very young waitress who poured the wine and ran off without even telling us anything about it. This has not been our experience before at this restaurant which is why it was so disappointing. For €70 per person it really missed the mark, which is such a shame (and I have mixed feelings about even writing this review), as we have had really wonderful evenings here in the past.

Salvatore un oste di altri tempi, Giulio lo chef una cucina molto gustosa e saporita, ci avete veramente accontentati e siamo molto felici di vedere all'estero un ristorante italiano come si vede, sia per come è arredato e sia per quello che abbiamo mangiato, tiramisù molto buono. Bravi e complimenti a tutto lo staff per dare un servizio eccellente.
