Great service, generous portions, tasty food. The cheese fondue was just a bit disappointing. They also don't make a fuss about a glass of tap water.

So, we had a lovely meal, but when my friend and his uncle ordered a beer, after bringing the beer, his uncle was mimicked because he stutters. The waiter thought it was a joke; how can you act like that? I’ve learned to respect customers, but this guy still has a lot to learn. Unfortunately, nothing was done; there was just an apology, and his uncle walked away after this incident and definitely didn't want to come back in, and rightly so, because even the chef did nothing!! Would they do this if you were disabled or fat?

After a day out, we wanted to have a nice meal, just like we have done before. So we made a bit of a detour to Soest, and according to the internet, they were supposed to open on August 5, 2026, at 5 PM. Unfortunately, they were closed, so out of sheer bad luck, we ended up having fast food. That was a major disappointment.

For us, this was not a pleasant experience. We came for a nice meal, but were spoken to because we occasionally hugged each other as a couple. We found that unnecessary and uncomfortable. Also, dogs are not welcome. As a result, the atmosphere did not feel warm or welcoming. It is a shame, but for us, it is not a reason to return.

Spontaneously went out for dinner and chose Het Luykje. Had a delicious meal and friendly, good service. We couldn't finish the spareribs, so we sat back the next day to enjoy a delicious feast 👍🏻

Yesterday we had ordered "varkens sateh" but the waitress came back with "chicken sateh". When we said this was not what we ordered she insisted to take the order back and bring the correct one, in spite of us saying we would not mind to eat the chicken sateh. When the varkens sateh came out was great as we are used to. Service was great and the place has a nice ambiance. Mistakes can be made and are not held against the waitress in this case; reason for the 5 stars. Short: a great place where we always like to come.

Fortunately, some things remain the same. It's been at least 40 years since I last came here, but it's still a feast of memories!

I ate spareribs and a 1-meter skewer of meat. The skewer is indeed 1 meter long, but the meat is half a meter long. The flavor was good, but a bit cold. The spareribs were delicious; there were too many, so we took the rest home. Delicious fries, salad, and potatoes. If you just want a good meal at a reasonable price, this is the place. Better than your average cafe, but less than a fine dining restaurant. The food was simply delicious, but the food arrived quickly, so this isn't the place for a night out. According to a colleague, they have the best spareribs in Central Netherlands, and to prove it, he took me out for dinner to try them. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy, a bit like a traditional Dutch pub. Two beers are quickly served, and the service is friendly and attentive to empty glasses, which is always pleasant. For our starters, we choose carpaccio and mushrooms, both delicious. The main course, of course, is the spareribs. They're certainly generous, as you get a seriously full plate. And honestly, my colleague wasn't exaggerating: they're fantastic! Not greasy and perfectly cooked, so the meat falls off the bone. The flavor is also very good. It takes a bit of effort to finish it all, but we manage. The spareribs are highly recommended!

Been going there for years... haven't been there for a while but it's not what it used to be. The service was downright bad. The food wasn't cleared, so I just paid and left. You can hardly hear each other. We were in the back with someone who thought we were in a sports canteen for the first time... no, don't call me again.

Had a delicious meal with my daughter. The spare ribs are definitely recommended, cozy casual atmosphere with friendly and efficient service.

We just wanted a quick bite of fresh sole. But they were frozen, poorly cooked, and thankfully served in a separate container with Picasso (sweet banana and apple?), along with disgusting fries and a small bowl of old, tasteless lettuce. Next time I'll skip this place.

For my appetizer, I chose the mushroom heads. The mushrooms were filled with tartare and served in a creamy Roquefort sauce. We also shared a portion of escargots to try that. Both appetizers were served with bread and tasted very good. So, expectations for the main course were high. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the main course. After a long wait, the main course, "coq au vin," was served. The only similarity it had to coq au vin was the chicken.

Simply good tasty food, but on the pricey side so not for everyone so do something about this because it is getting more expensive every week.

A real Dutch treat at a great local restaurant! This establishment has been here for years and to be honest we don’t go there too often, but we should. We had the spare ribs and chicken sateh and both dishes were fantastic! The ambiance was very relaxed on a warm evening on the outside patio. Service was super! Luc van den Brakel (son of owner Thijs) did a splendid job making us feel very welcome and with his dedicated staff delivered outstanding service! I really hadn't been to 't Luykje for years. Unfortunately I didn't think it was as good as I remembered. Maybe it's because I'm getting older but the flavors were ok, but still missed some things. Cappacio lacked flavor and the salad was also not what it once was. We were a bit disappointed. Too bad, but I don't think we will be going back here anytime soon, for the money there are better restaurants for us.

Had a nice evening with delicious food (meters of skewer!), unfortunately I've also had it before that it wasn't quite great (spare ribs weren't really tender), luckily that was an exception since the spare ribs were really tasty the previous times. The atmosphere is great when you are dining out with a nice group!

Known for its delicious spare ribs and no word is a lie. So delicious every time. Highly recommended, they also have other delicious dishes from the grill. There is something tasty on the menu for everyone. Even if you don't like to mess around. Hier in de afgelopen jaren hier regelmatig wezen eten, het eten is altijd van goede kwaliteit en de sfeer is gemoedelijk en gezellig. Ik vind het knap dat zij dit al jaren volhouden. Daarnaast is het eten ook nog een betaalbaar! Aanrader!

A cozy location with a fairly wide menu choice. Even after ordering, the meal was served quite quickly. Opted for the 2 person mix grill. The downside is that you are not asked in advance how certain meat should be cooked. Very weird isn't for everyone. The amount of fruit on the dish was surprising! Very fresh and super tasty, which is highly recommended. It is indeed a meat restaurant, vegetables are sparingly and are not included as standard. In my opinion, the younger employees could receive more training in language use and service provision. There is no drinks menu, while there is a wine list. Not all employees know the range, so they contradict each other. That is a learning point in my opinion. The desserts are very pricey, which was an unpleasant disappointment. There are only 2 cocktails and these are slightly above the average price. All in all a good experience. It is worth it to have a nice meal there. Reservations in advance are a must to avoid disappointments, especially on weekends. I will definitely come again for the meat!

Great food! It looks a bit brown pub-like. The interior is decorated with old train benches. It almost looks like a ski lodge. The food is fine! Tasty and nicely served. All in all a nice place for a pleasant evening.

Had a delicious meal here with 4 people. Nice relaxed old Dutch atmosphere and friendly service. Very large portions, but luckily they also have some good options for smaller stomachs. I had chosen satay...more than 20 euros...sate was cold...there were 4 people, sending sate back was an option, but then my fellow guests had already finished their food...well then I just had to continue eating...but reported at checkout. .nothing was done with it, too bad ..rack was 225 euros

It's like entering a pigsty and coming out fattened. Hunks of meat, prepared as it was done in 1999 and in an interior where nothing has changed since then. That is the level. But oh how the guests were enjoying themselves. The service was fine, perhaps too fast. There are simply a lot of people who want to be stuffed with cheap meat. One time for me and that's about it.

Was best wel lang geleden dat we hier geweest waren, maar gelukkig hadden we gereserveerd en enorm genoten van de sfeer, bediening en natuurlijk het heerlijke eten. Je krijgt hier nog echt waar voor je geld.

Ik snap de goede beoordelingen. Want hier krijg je waar voor je geld, ga hier met hongerige pubers eten en je hebt een wereldavond! Er staan gerechten op de kaart als 1 meter spies met 500 gram vlees, 800 gram spareribs ! Er zijn geen vegetariërs in het gezelschap, dat scheelt. Bij het opdienen van de gerechten blijkt de tafel te klein, gelukkig zijn er 'hangende' spiezen besteld, die nemen wat minder oppervlak in. Er wordt overdadig geserveerd, voor het oog mooi opgemaakt, maar een halve, gevulde meloen als versiering bij een tweepersoons schotel blijft steevast liggen en ook mooie stukken vlees blijven over. Het is grof eetgeweld en dat is zonde en overbodig. Overigens is alles best lekker en zoals gezegd, goed betaalbaar. Vandaar dan ook de vanzelfsprekende drukte. Met wat kleinere porties kan men nóg betere kwaliteit leveren en houdt men geld over voor andere zaken, bijvoorbeeld voor het verbeteren van het sanitair. Het is er erg rumoerig en donker wat mogelijk een beetje smoezelige indruk achterlaat. Maar dat is dit bruin eetcafé nou eenmaal eigen.
