Great place, beach could be cleaner.

Typical beach bar, beautifully situated on Lake Gooimeer. The service is charming and reasonably attentive. However, serving took far too long. It seemed the kitchen did not have sufficient capacity. The Tom Kha Kai soup was excellent. The chicken satay platter looked festive. Fries, salad, and pickles were fine. The chicken meat was okay, but the satay sauce was a disgrace. It tasted like everything but satay sauce. The cook needs to go back to school.... Unfortunately, not a sufficient score to visit again.

Lovely place to eat and have drinks. Friendly staff and a beautiful view of Almeerderstrand. You can choose to sit at a picnic table on the sand, a small table, or a lounge sofa. Be sure to make a reservation when the weather is nice. It is also very comfortable inside, by the way. It is a nice spot even in the winter. Games are available. Also available for (partial) hire for corporate parties and weddings.

Nice atmosphere and good food. When making a reservation, you can choose between picnic benches, the terrace, or the lounge area. Young staff, a mix of somewhat experienced and inexperienced. It is a shame that smoking is still allowed on the terrace, right next to dining guests.

Nice place for a drink and food

Expect a beach bar, but right here in Almere. A view of the beach, a relaxed atmosphere, super friendly service, and an extensive menu featuring typical beach bar dishes. Prices are reasonable, and the food is very tasty (the satay in this case). Parking is available right next to the restaurant, and the dining experience is ideal in combination with the Vis-a-vis theater, which is just around the corner.

Just had a quick coffee. It took quite a while for it to arrive. In my opinion, a bit too long. It wasn't that busy. Maybe the staff was inexperienced. The coffee wasn't as good as I'm used to. The bike gates weren't very accessible due to sand, bumps, and potholes. Tip: a bit of paving there would make it better.

I visited Poortdok on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and had a wonderful experience overall. The location is absolutely lovely, offering a beautiful beachfront view and a perfect, laid-back atmosphere to sit back and relax. As for the food, the falafel salad was great and very tasty, but in my opinion quite expensive for the amount of food. We also tried the loaded fries with Parmesan and truffle mayonnaise. While they tasted fine, they were thin, French-style fries; in my opinion, thicker Flemish-style fries with the skin still on would have paired much better with that specific premium topping. Unfortunately, the cappuccino was a bit of a letdown as it completely lacked foam, but the service more than made up for it. The staff were absolutely top-notch, and the girls working there were incredibly sweet and welcoming. Despite the minor disappointment with the coffee, the amazing view and fantastic service mean I will definitely be coming back!

Cozy atmosphere, nice service, good food.

Tonight I had dinner with my family at Poort Dok and afterwards went to Vis à Vis. Both are highly recommended! Both the starter and the main course were delicious. For dessert, you can choose from a dessert platter, which is a fun and original concept. A special mention goes to the two waitresses. They really have a helicopter view, ensuring you are served quickly, while at the same time being incredibly friendly and hospitable. Employees like that really make a business stronger. Compliments also to the chef for the delicious dishes. There was also a birthday party present tonight, but it was combined excellently with the restaurant area. It actually created a cozy atmosphere and lively buzz. The combination with Vis à Vis makes it complete. Ideal if you want a full night out: first a delicious meal at Poort Dok and then enjoying a nice show. We had a fantastic evening!

We had already been sitting at the table for half an hour, finished our first drink. Then a waitress put a sign on the table saying our table was reserved in 45 minutes. Reservations take precedence over walk-ins, she said. I have truly never experienced anything like it. It is fine if you let them know in advance, or if you come to report that something went wrong. But according to the staff, this was very clearly our problem. We were told to keep an eye on the terrace ourselves to see if a spot became available. There was already a line stretching from here to Tokyo waiting to get a table. What do you think... Very inhospitable.

I assume the food is good, the service was very fast & friendly in spite of being very busy. It was busy, with kind of loud music, but thst's my problem, not the restaurants. The prices are similar to other beach restaurants in Almere Dune & Harbour. Right on the city beach, the last day of summer so the atmosphere was nice. Walking distance from the Vis A Vis open air theatre.

The food was absolutely delicious! We had burgers and satay skewers with perfectly fried fries. 👌 The house lemonade was also amazing. The Dutch prices were perfectly reasonable. The service was attentive and very friendly. Located right on the beach with a beautiful view of the water. Highly recommended!

We were greeted warmly upon arrival and were able to take a seat on the terrace with the dog who was staying temporarily and our four-year-old. Drinks arrived quickly, and we decided to have something to eat. They have children's menus, which we had to request separately. Prices are reasonable, not excessive. We decided to go for a burger and a steak. The burger is simply good. It's a huge machine that the chef must have a lot of fun making. Unfortunately, the steak was tough and rare, not medium. That would have been fine if it hadn't been so tough. A real shame. The fries were also a bit limp. We reported it, but nothing was done about it. I bet it's not the first time. I hope they try to make amends for the steak and perhaps use a different frying fat for the fries or adjust the cooking method. (Nice to Meat is just around the corner, so getting a good steak shouldn't be a problem.) I would definitely come back for the burger.

Unfortunately my children and I got a stomach flu from the steak menu X 3 was very raw and not tasty, a shame.

The hamburger was great, but a bit expensive.

The food looked better than it tasted. The burgers were frozen, and the fries had been in the fryer too long, which made them hard. The atmosphere was great. The service was not good. The wait times were very long, and the staff often chatted instead of working. Still, the staff were very friendly.

Very nice terrace. Last minute 15 people joined and the staff was still able to find a spot for us and could also kindly accommodate us when a few of us had to leave early. Lovely view, super tasty food. I can highly recommend the homemade strawberry rhubarb lemonade!

Didn't have a nice experience. For everything we wanted to order, the staff indicated that the kitchen was too busy and that if we took a table at the back we might be able to order something. We left.

Overpriced while the food is not particularly special at all. It's rather a nice spot for drinks and snacks. The location is excellent though, right on the beach, with many benches and tables outside.

A bit of nostalgia for me, I think Poortdok has existed the longest on Almere Strand and was also the first place where you could eat and drink. Nice place

1st impression bad when I arrive there with family, there were plenty of tables that were free and no sign saying reserved on them. After 10 minutes someone finally comes to tell us that it had been reserved. Never come here again

We can't say anything about the food. We only stopped there with dogs as there is also a large dog beach there. Very cozy and beautiful even if it looks like a container house. :)

We were a bit unlucky. The kitchen closes at 4:00 PM and opens again at 5:00 PM. Of course we arrived just after 4pm. So I drank the drink and left again.

Service not very cheerful and smooth.

The carpaccio as a starter cost no less than €14. And the meat was so really thin and little. And the tom kha soup. Extremely tasteless and watery. The staff pays more attention to the locals than to the guest who is not from there. As a gesture, the soup was not on the bill.

Overpriced, food quality in no relation with price. We went there yesterday, and ordered a burger, which used to be fairly good, however now we got a burger, which was oversalted, much smaller than it used to be, when the waitress came to clear the dishes, I told her about it, all I got was I tell the cook, we will not go there again, too bad, it used to be a fairly decent place

We have been before and now found the food to be a little less. We had chicken satay but the atjar tasted bland. But the place makes up for a lot!

Nice place on the water with several sitting/lounge areas. Make sure you reserve a spot in advance, otherwise there won't be a spot for you.

Came here for a quick lunch, menu looks good, food looked good but taste was ok. There's no much choice around here so you have to take what's available. In the weekends is incredible crowd. The prices are high for the quality.

What a place, what a staff, what an atmosphere! Ibiza in Almere! P.s. today for the 3rd time. It remains great! This place, the happy employees and the service will make you happy!
