I usually avoid "all you can eat" buffet-type places, but this one is worth visiting - especially with a small group. It was like sushi-tapas, with a great selection of rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and lots of cooked options too. It was so much fun to orser with friends and taste a lot of dishes! The only drawback is that to get the "all you can eat", the entire table has to order that option. No exceptions. If your table is ready to eat, the 38€/person is quite reasonable for the food and the fun!

I have been coming to this Sumo branch for several years now, we always order the all you can eat. What strikes me is that we used to be full after 3-4 rounds, but nowadays the portions have been adjusted in such a way that we can easily reach the 5 rounds. It is still enough, but the quantities seem to have been skimped on. The service is okay, you order your dishes via a tablet, unfortunately you cannot order your drinks via the tablet, and it is sometimes difficult to quickly find a server who wants to take an order. I think if they are more alert to this, they can generate more sales. Sitting there for over 2 hours and only 2 drinks, it can and should be better! The quality of the food is okay, to be honest I prefer the grill and bami/rice dishes than the sushi/sashimi. For me, you go to Sumo for easy-to-eat comfort food, but not necessarily for the exceptional flavors.

Disappointing experience at Sumo Den Haag - I will never come here again Last Wednesday I and my group had dinner at Sumo in The Hague. Unfortunately, the experience was anything but positive.​ Quality of the food: The food was dry and tasteless. Even the wait staff noticed that this was wrong when they took it away. In addition, we received spoiled salmon with the sushi, which increased our disappointment. The food was not good on all rounds Service and staff: Despite repeated requests to speak to the manager, he remained absent. Instead the assistant manager came, who behaved unprofessionally. He was rude, raised his voice and refused to listen to our story. Even after we showed photos and indicated to the staff that they would pass this on to the manager, nothing happened. This is absolutely not acceptable in the catering industry Overall impression: Considering the poor quality of the food and the unprofessional attitude of the staff, I will never come here again. I recommend others not to go to this location.

Verschrikkelijk. Service duurde veelste te lang en al het eten was koud. Er zat letterlijk een HAARTJE in de sushi en er werd hier niets mee gedaan. Slechte prijs-kwaliteit verhouding en daarnaast is hun “premium” menu zeker AF TE RADEN! Je krijgt maar enkele opties erbij. Absoluut niet waard voor het geld. We moesten 4 keer vragen om een glas en konden pas na 20 min een iPad krijgen. Verschrikkelijke ervaring en niet herhaling vatbaar!

The food was tasty and fresh, but... Highchair indicated when booking, I had to ask twice upon arrival before I got it. I was shocked by the high bill. They charged €22 for a baby aged 2.5 years (free up to 4 years!), which was a "mistake" so they gave it back. Conclusion; elsewhere you have more choice, and we pay €30 less for 3 guests.

What a disappointment. Today I only had dinner at Sumo Herengracht, I come here often. When the last round is served, the waitress indicates that I have to order a drink, otherwise I have to take it with me, even if it is coffee or tea... I have no need for a drink and ask why this was not indicated at the beginning. Waitress indicates that I am a regular customer and should know this…. However, I was never told this, and I immediately lost my appetite. Then paid immediately and tried to report this story to the manager. A big disappointment, sushi cold and not at the right temperature, dry and cold as if it were leftovers from the afternoon lunch... who knows, I received an order for pieces of chicken that I had not ordered so I had them at my table for 45 minutes until the unprofessional attendant took it from the table and then offered it to the table next to it, which I really don't think is possible!! just unsanitary and shabby ! So that explained why my sushi was dry and cold just not fresh ! so leftovers that have been saved. From that moment on my appetite was over and I barely made it through the 3 rounds, apparently budget cuts have to be made and this way waste is saved in front of the consumer, really a no go, this store is not worth your money, it has deteriorated significantly compared to other years! when it was really enjoyable at Sumo. I'll never come here again!

Unfortunately a disappointing experience at Sumo Herengracht. Despite a reservation, we had to wait half an hour, while guests with later reservations were helped sooner. As a compensation we were given a bottle of water, but the glasses were dirty and cutlery was missing. Orders arrived late, were incomplete or incorrect, even after indicating several times. There were 7 of us, but often we only got 1 portion. When we discussed this among ourselves, an employee inappropriately interfered in our conversation. All this really ruined our evening. Very unfortunate, because previous visits were better.

“Bad experience with customer service” I recently visited this place, but unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. After ordering our food we were forced to buy a drink. When we explained that we did not want this, we were told in a forceful manner that this is in the house rules. However, these house rules were not visible anywhere in the business and could only be found on the website. Because we had made a reservation by telephone, we knew nothing about this. The staff handled our questions in an unpleasant manner, and we felt harassed by their attitude. The place was packed, and instead of offering a solution, another employee even told us they were “not allowed to talk to us anymore.” This felt very unprofessional and created an unpleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this case. Customer friendliness and clear communication are essential, and that was completely lacking here.

I have been to this restaurant several times and have always enjoyed the tasty dishes and friendly atmosphere. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the variety is excellent. What I think is a shame, however, is that the restaurant has reduced the number of rounds from 5 to 4, while the price has increased slightly. I can understand that there are occasional price increases these times, but if you reduce the number of dishes you can order by 20%, you do feel disadvantaged, especially if the prices also increase. Price/quantity ratio is not in balance.

Not my favourite. Here's some of my nit-picks. The Shari (sushi rice) is very dry, hard, dense and very sweet. Some of neta (rice topping) were not fresh. The teriyaki courgettes and mushrooms are boiled and barely touched the teppan. All dishes are overloaded with heavy sauces. Food comes out very fast though.

Really delicious food. The food is ordered via a tablet, 5 times 5 dishes each. If you add it up like that, there are 25 courses in total. Sushi, soup, salad, bowls, everything is included. As a good eater, you will struggle to eat all 25 courses. Costs around €39 per person, but it's definitely worth the money. A large bottle of mineral water costs €7. That's perfectly fine too. The photo shows the first order: two by five dishes. Can simply be recommended. If we are in the area again we will definitely come back.

Good location in the center. Many parking garages around. Central station within walking distance. There is a good atmosphere and the restaurant is beautiful. Staff is very friendly! Good fast service! If you ask for something, it is arranged immediately, even if it is very busy. Good reception and good customer service. Order via a tablet, which is very easy and clear. Sushi is delicious and many variations. Not too much rice and enough other ingredients. Tastes well, looks nice and well made. They have a lot of choice in sushi. The hot dishes were also delicious. We have been threatened by this company, due to their own fault! I will never, ever go here again. I wouldn't recommend that to anyone either. Absolutely antisocial how these people treat (loyal) customers. My partner and I often ordered food here. We also regularly ate in the restaurant. We came here at least twice a month. Until recently, due to their own mistake, we were threatened with charges against us. As usual, we ordered food. This time I did not pay via iDeal but opted for cash. We opened the door, the food was at the door and we saw the delivery person getting back into the elevator. Without us having a chance to pay. I quickly walked to the elevator hoping that it was still open, but alas. Away delivery man. Immediately called the restaurant and we would be called back because it was busy. Ultimately, 3.5 hours later we were called no less than 8 times and received a threatening text message. The delivery person was at the door and according to him we would refuse to pay and not open the door. My mouth literally fell open in amazement. We were no longer at home and back to work. We also didn't expect him to come back 3.5 hours later. Someone from sumo had also called us and immediately threatened to report us because we refused to open the door and did not want to pay. These were all assumptions and the pressure was immediately increased because she made a mistake herself... ridiculous. During my work it was difficult to reach me and therefore I could not make long phone calls. This employee or owner had 0 understanding and was not even willing to listen to our side of the story. Ultimately, I indicated that I wanted to receive a little bit so that I could pay properly. He gave me 0 chance to say anything and kept threatening. I said it through his story and then hung up my phone. Ultimately I received a payment request so that I could complete it properly on my part. However, they immediately lose customers because this disrespectful way of communicating is simply not possible. When we got home, our front door also turned out to have been severely damaged by the delivery person who 'knocked' and kicked on our door. A big disappointment this company. 0 respect for customers and only after money which they want to extract in this disrespectful way. We will never say a positive word about Sumo again. Antisocial people with 0 respect.

Well, economic structure is already really a shame here for an "all you can eat", 2 hours maximum for eating, only 5 small dishes per person per round, with maximum 5 round. That is common in nederlands but really not an all you can eat for the rest of the world.. Secondly after we start eating during 20 min they come to you saying "it is mandatory to pay for 1 drink per person" even if we already went at other Sumo restaurant and never heard this. Oh and also they refuse you tap water (illegal now in netherlands and also totally immoral) because they prefer to sell a 7 euros plastic bottle of water !!! Nice play ! Netherlands talks about ecology and bikes ?? That restaurant is about money and i recommend to avoid them. Hopefully for them my english or my dutch is not good enough to start really complaining. But if i was in my country, i would have start a f****** storm in their restaurant. Definetely NON recommended ...

Ate here for my friend's birthday. What a shame that Sumo has deteriorated so much :(, a real disappointment! Not the best service: we had reserved lunch at 3 o'clock and were told at 3.30 pm that we could order until 4.30 pm for the lunch price... I don't think that is correct Since you can still make a reservation for lunch at 3 p.m.? Containers and saucers are thrown on the table rather than placed, edamame beans and ice cream are only available for an additional charge. There is also no changing area available for a baby, so we could do this on the floor in the toilet. don't do it this time! Next time Tatsu in the mall again, much more value for your money.

Delicious and fresh sushi. Top quality compared to what you get in The Hague. My only negative point is that they would like more clarity about the buy-one-get-one-free deal (you have to order two, otherwise the deal is canceled). Otherwise, very good.

Absolutamente el peor ramen de mi vida. Los pocos trozos de carne gris flotando en el líquido caliente eran poco apetitosos y olían mal y sabían peor. No era comestible. Bebí el agua de soda, comí la gyoza pálida y flácida, pagué los 23€ y me fui con hambre. Al día siguiente caminando con un amigo local pasamos por Momiji Sushi y antes de que pudiera decir nada, se volvió hacia mí y me dijo “Nunca, nunca comas aquí”.
