At Moksi Leiden, the food is delicious. What's also striking is how clean and well-maintained the restaurant is, with a pleasant view of the kitchen. This inspires confidence and contributes to the overall experience. A pleasant place where quality and hygiene visibly come together.

If you eat here, you have to drink 4 liters of water afterward, which is so salty and powdered with vetsin. It's incredibly filthy and a lackluster mess.

I had recently been here before, but this time I was not happy. I got 3 chicken curry sandwiches for a good price, but 2 of the three sandwiches literally contained small pieces of bone. When I discovered this, I immediately threw everything away. It can happen, of course, but I thought it was not nice. I would be happy to pick up new sandwiches for free.

I got Saoto soup and it was inedible, it was made with turmeric and ginger 🤢 not tasty, my stomach was burning.

I picked up some Soato soup, and it tasted like water with curry and ginger! Absolutely NO saoto or anything else that comes with it! Outrageous!!!!

Got €37 worth of food here. The food was inedible. Nasi chicken was completely hard, like old prison rice. Saoto soup was like ditchwater with a bit of ginger and masala. This is outrageous; you can't call it Surinamese food. Don't buy anything here; it's not worth your money.

One of the best in Leiden!!! They have great moksi and friendly staff! I've been going there for five years now, and the food remains consistently good. Always get extra pork belly!!! 😝❤️

We've been here several times. Sometimes to eat in and sometimes to get takeout. We've always found it delicious.

Heard good things so we went here to get roti, but what a disgrace. It shouldn't even be called roti. Green beans instead of long beans, the egg wasn't Telor, everything was drenched in sweet and sour Chinese sauce, the potatoes were too hard, and the meat wasn't as it should be. A real disappointment. If you like it, it's fine, but don't go here for real roti. Only the roti plate was okay. Very disappointed.

For years, we've been coming to Moksi to stock up on supplies for our homes; all the way from Zwolle! What a great price-quality ratio! And everything is so clean... Of course, we always pick up a beef sandwich too... highly recommended!

When Moksi was under the management of the old gentleman, the restaurant won the award for best newcomer. The food was of excellent quality and offered authentic Surinamese flavors that were not found anywhere else. Unfortunately, I have to conclude that the quality, especially of the moksi meti, has now decreased considerably. It seems as if the passion for food and the care for quality have disappeared. Although the beginning is often promising, maintaining consistent quality is the biggest challenge for any restaurant. The moksi meti that is served today no longer meets the standards that I expect, and I would not even feed it to my dogs. It is a shame to see that Moksi has adapted its dishes to the Dutch cuisine, which is increasingly diluting the original Surinamese identity of the dishes. Moreover, every Surinamese food lover knows that you should not order roti from a Chinese, because it is simply not part of their cuisine. "Shoemaker, stick to your last." These adjustments seem to undermine the authentic experience of Moksi. It would be great to see the restaurant return to the roots of its success, but unfortunately, right now the experience is not what it once was.

Terrible.....we live near Zutphen and the Moksi meti was so incredibly tasty that we are now forced to regularly go to Leiden to pick up food from Moksi. Fortunately, Leiden is one of the most beautiful cities in the Netherlands. But anyway, what a delicious meal. Ps......I'm going to ask if they also do home delivery.

It was my first time picking something up from Surinaams and I was pleasantly surprised. The vegetarian food was very tasty and the portions were very generous for the price - they are easily enough for two people. I'd love to come back!

I have a few comments on some part of Moksi. First, the food is reasonably priced. The roti has a Dutch twist and is less spicy but still good to eat. The rice + meat combo tastes good, the liver is made with a light shrimp paste. The sato soup is served with rice, less tasty compared to other restaurants but gives me less fat problems. Secondly, service is reasonable, you get a discount if you bring your own container. I recommend glass containers because you get less aftertaste and cleaning is easier. Third, atmosphere is normal for a small eatery. The area is not really beautiful but very cozy. The devices are probably ten years old and they work normally. In total: 4.2

The only disadvantage is actually also positive, they are open on relatively few days, so I can't pick up something as often as I would like.

We recently ate roti here, I must say that the reviews are very promising, but we as roti lovers who often eat roti found this roti to be the worst we have ever eaten. It tasted more like some kind of Chinese dish, a kind of sweet and sour roti and the chicken fillet was also very dry and cut large. First time trying Surinamese cuisine, and it was incredible! The staff were super friendly and helpful. The taste of the meal was fantastic (even though it might not be particularly aesthetic), the portions very generous and for a good price. Thank you, and I 100% recommend this place.

Ik ben 70 +, nog nooit zo vies gegeten. De pom was net drab, smaakte vies. Roti was prima, was niet zelf gemaak, maar besteld door Moksi , bij een ander verkoper. Massala kip smaakte zo vies was niet te eten. Bonen waren gekookt. Hier moet je nooit roti eten.

THE BEST ROTI!!!! Against my better judgement, I recently got roti somewhere else (i.e. moved to another city), and this was also a big flop... But please DO get your roti here. The beef preferably! This is really very creamy and a true flavor explosion. Compared to other roti houses, the price-quality ratio is okay. The only thing is that they have filled the containers less lately, I understand that everything is becoming more expensive, but I still prefer a slight price increase but keeping the same quantity (: by the way, the staff is always very nice and really great!

Really delicious and good Surinamese food. We had roti chicken spicy, roti lamb, chicken curry and fried cod. Were given a wooden fork and spoon to eat on the go.

Beste Moksi mannen, gisteravond heb ik mogen proeven van uw gerechten. Een vegetarische bak met een broodje Pom erbij. Ik wil even mijn oprechte liefde tonen tegenover het broodje Pom. Wat een heerlijk broodje is dat zeg, alsof een engeltje op je tong pist. Daarnaast waardeerde ik de vriendelijkheid en het praatje die jullie met mij maakte over wat het broodje inhield en wat voor een leuke naam het is. Ik raad iedereen Moksi aan! Groetjes

Zelfs tijdens 3 October Leids ontzet heerlijke roti maaltijd gegeten terwijl het super druk was. De vega roti was heel lekker met verschillende ingrediënten. Nog meer vega opties zou leuk zijn!

I know sharing the photo does not really help here because it has no "insta"-flair. Important is that it is fantastic, flavourful and exceptional when you not living in the Netherlands. Aaaand spicy if you like is. (Hot sauce is extra) (I had the vegetarian roti. It was a lot!)

De beste Surinaamse roti en nasi van Leiden en verre omstreken voor een schappelijke prijs. Het is niet voor niets dat bij deze Toko in Leiden al jarenlang elke dag een lange rij voor de deur staat. En het is het (korte) wachten meer dan waard! Moksi is TOP! Ook de héérlijke vegetarische gerechten zijn aan te bevelen! Wekelijkse kost mmm

De broodjes zijn goed de menu’s zijn goed samengesteld maar zelf samenstellen is ook mogelijk alles is goed bereid rund en kip is daar altijd halal. En in de keuken scheiden ze de kip rund en varkensvlees bereidingswijze gedeelte.

Ik zou elke dag wel daar willen eten. Het eten is altijd goed. Service is goed. Medewerkers vullen elkaar goed aan om bestellingen snel mogelijk samen te stellen. Er heerst ook altijd een fijne sfeer. Aanrader dus.

Het eten van te voren besteld en vanavond opgehaald. Alles was heel netjes ingepakt en we hadden gevraagd of ze op de bakjes konden aangeven of het vega was, wat ze ook netjes hadden gedaan. Het eten smaakte top! Bedankt voor de goeie service, we komen zeker vaker!!
