Amazing sushi place with a traditional atmosphere and rolls that are worth the money, especially the Crazy Tuna maki was incredible.

One of the best restaurants in Amsterdam to get a really fresh Sushi. 🍣 My recommendation is to try the Baka Salmon roll and the Rainbow dragon maki. Everything is just so fresh ⭐ I'd recommend booking a table in advance.

The matcha latte is so good and authentic like in Japan with strong matcha flavours (unlike the usual European matcha latte) and the matcha tart is so rich But sushi is normal, not very special

Matcha was full of lumps, had a giant fish scale in my otoro. Unagi was mediocre / got what looked like leftover cuts in my donburi. Otherwise tasty sushi however.

Great chef with poor sevrice as always

Sushi was amazing, however the service and restaurant experience leave a lot to be desired. I really wish a place revolving so around sushi would serve some miso soup but that was missing from the menu. Coffee was also not served there. The restaurant is also really really cold now in the winter. It doesn't help that the seating downstairs is located right next to door that is constantly opened for take-away service. It also doesn't help that the seating isn't very comfortable or very accessible. Lastly the staff were friendly but seemed quite aloof, and the phone ordering system is in my opinion a bit gimmicky for the money that you pay. Again the food was great but I will likely not return due to the sub-par restaurant experience. It's unfortunate to see such nice food be held back by a gimmicky restaurant concept.

The sushi was very good and made with fresh fish. The price is fair for the quality that is delivered. It is definitely a place I would visit again.

Food is amazing as always, just a bit complaint about the service. We had to ask three times for cutleries and napkins, cause they either ran out in the drawer or wasn’t provided (for dessert). Would be nice to have them restock in time and provided when serving the food to avoid the waiting time in between.

TL;DR: Some really good, unique menu items, but because of value for money and service won't be going back. They clearly understand good sushi, it's unlike the "westernized" sushi that you see at SUMO or such, but it must be mentioned that the prices definitely match. Unfortunately we received chicken karage that was raw and cold inside and didn't receive any discount/offer for drink on the house or such, just a new dish. Generally very understanding but raw chicken is one where the 'apology' didn't match the 'crime'. It was also a shame to hear the staff talk badly about another customer that left, since it's a pretty quiet atmosphere you can pretty much hear everything.

Really fresh fish with perfectly seasoned sushi rice. Friendly service and casual, easy vibe.

Visited today with a friend of mine. Have to say, it is without doubt, the best sushi you can find in Amsterdam! Great food and even better service. Definitly becoming a sushi fanatic with their sushi being so fantastic😉

I really enjoy the sushi here. While it doesn’t quite compare to what I’ve experienced in Japan, for Amsterdam, this is a very good sushi spot. However, the service leaves much to be desired. I’ve been here at least 9-12 times, and every single time I’ve asked for extra wasabi and ginger, my request was forgotten. I had to repeat myself, and in the end, I was charged for the extra wasabi and ginger. It took me a long time to write this review because I do believe the chefs do an excellent job preparing the sushi. Unfortunately, the service staff often seems unaware of customers and can come across as unfriendly. That being said, on my last visit, a girl (who I believe was a native English speaker) provided great service—she was attentive and friendly, a nice contrast to the rest of the team who never seem ready to offer an excellent customer service experience. Additionally, they never automatically offer tap water—you always have to ask for it! As for pricing, the sushi is reasonably priced, but the drinks are extremely overpriced, which may be linked to the high cost of matcha. Overall, despite its ups and downs, I believe this sushi place offers some of the best sushi in Amsterdam and has become my go-to spot for sushi in the city.

The sushi is completely frozen and pre-made, which is equivalent to the level of Huajiyu sushi. The price is totally not worth it.

The nigiri’s are by far the best I've ever had! the fish is incredibly fresh, and the balance between the fish and rice is just perfect. Every bite was a delight, and you can tell they put real care into the preparation. What also stood out were their matcha drinks and desserts. If you're a fan of matcha, you'll love their selection. The matcha desserts were the perfect sweet finish to an already amazing meal. Great food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. I'll definitely be coming back!

After all the rave reviews we had to try this restaurant! We got a table upstairs at a zataku (low Japanese table), which was a nice authentic experience. However, keep in mind that for taller people, like my friend, it may become a little less comfortable after a while. The staff was friendly, but not very involved, which I missed. You can easily call them via your telephone. The sushi was absolutely fantastic! Every bite was fresh and the fish literally melted in your mouth. Definitely the best sushi I've ever had! Highly recommended: the Baka Salmon. A small disappointment was that at the Nigiri Sushi Moriawase we were not given any explanation about which types of fish were on the nigiri, so we sometimes did not know what we were eating. But all in all a wonderful experience and definitely worth it!

Ordered sushi for €125, more than double the price compared to a delivery chain. If the quality had been like that: completely fine. But it was very mediocre. Absolute quality 3/5: - the tuna maki had soft nori (not fresh) - overcooked rice without bite at the rolls The toro - both the nigiri and the very tuna rolls - is by far the lowest quality fatty tuna we have ever eaten: almost skinny and with membranes that should have been cut away. Instead of a treat to celebrate something, this almost became a gallows meal, as the expensive poor quality dampened our mood. Due to the high price for the mediocre quality a 2.

Delicious Super fresh and authentic For the real sushi lover

We stopped for lunch, the sushi is decent but not the best, it's à la carte so you tend to spend a little, two of us spent €50. Service a little slow. Nice atmosphere but I recommend booking to get a comfortable table.

One of the good sushi’s we have tried so far in the Netherlands / Amsterdam. We came here few times and was not disappointed! If I have to mention something, it would be the service. The waiters were mostly cold and unwelcoming, making the dining experience really uncomfortable. The customer sitting next to us was waiting at the table 15 min+ without any menu, and eventualy we shared our menu with them. It was also dissapoiting that our edamame was served rather undercooked. There is a room for a lot more improvement, but the sushi was exeptional. I hope for future improvement! :)

We were a bigger group who Just wanted to share, But when we asked the staff to put together something for six people they couldn’t so we had to pick and choose. The variety is not that big in Terms of kaburamaki. It’s like they were only specialized in nigiri. Mediocre sushi.

I’ve been a regular of Sushi fanatics for a while now and I’ve continued to come back for the quality of the food. However, I came for late lunch around 3pm today on a Sunday and the service was particularly poor. The current staff working seemed young, inexperienced, and disorganized. The sushi was solid but the service tainted the experience. It’s a pity because I’ve loved coming here in the past, hopefully this was a one off and that the service will improve again

The quality of the sushi was high and I was satisfied. The atmosphere of the shop was also decorated like an old Japanese house, which was nice.

Just good, very expensive and there was a lot of raw tuna in the crazy tuna. A bit overkill.

Absolute 10. The place is cute, the service fast and charming. Premium quality sushi, the best Otoro Tuna Nigiri I have ever tasted. It is located in a very quiet residential neighborhood near a park. Recommended.

One of the best sushi in Amsterdam for price/quality. I order here once per month and it never disappoints. The texture of the fish is as it should be, the rice is not cold but at temperature, the have a lot of different varieties of seafood and the price is very reasonable. I highly recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sushi Fanatics in Amsterdam, and it exceeded my expectations. The sushi is incredibly fresh with an impressive variety on the menu. I ordered several dishes, including the Otoro Nigiri, Hokkaido Scallop Nigiri, Unagi Nigiri, and Baka Salmon Maki, along with a few others, and every single one was outstanding. The presentation was beautiful, the fish-to-rice ratio was spot-on, and the quality was so high that it felt like enjoying sushi straight from Japan. They also have a great selection of Matcha desserts. We tried the Matcha Chocolate Tart, which was rich and flavorful, with high-quality Matcha sourced from Uji. The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant made the experience even better. Though it’s on the smaller side, we sat at the shared table where you remove your shoes. If you love sushi, this is a must-visit spot in Amsterdam!

Fantastic sushi. We were there with three to celebrate friend’s birthday. Everything was fresh and delicious. Probably second best sushi in my life. The sitting upstairs was uncomfortable, but we forgot about it when the food came.

Nice sushi restaurant outside the city center. In a quiet neighborhood, but busy. I arrived without a reservation, but the ladies at the counter looked very quickly and were still able to show me a seat. Everything is affordable and there is a lot of choice. All ordered loose nigiri so I could try everything out. Top! Sushi was fresh. Still recommended for someone else to make a reservation. To be guaranteed food.

Refined and very well prepared cuisine. The food ordering system is convenient. Be careful though to check your dishes carefully when adding them, errors can occur.

Great sushi and a good selection of sake

I had high hopes for this place, but my recent experience was disappointing. After waiting 55 minutes for our food, we had to remind the staff, only to be told “Oh, our booking system broke.” While I understand technical issues can happen, the lack of proactive communication is disappointing. The food, when it finally arrived, was good, but it hardly made up for the poor service. I hope management addresses these issues promptly.

Hot diggity dam this sushi place is gangsta. They know how to make the freshest cleanest sushi, that will make you feel like you've found peace in your soul again. The salmon tasted like it was caught this morning. Beautiful combinations, perfect rice, great presentation. I'll be back.

The seating is really uncomfortable. For the big table upstairs, I had to walk around other customers that were eating and I see downstairs there is a similar problem.

Sushi was nice, certainly one of the best I have tried in Amsterdam. Price for quality is acceptable. There is much more variety of nigiris than I am used to see in Amsterdam restaurants and the flavours were great. Service was kind and pleasant but verrrry basic, which for the price tag is disappointing. We got a sake tasting and the sake was brought to us without any mention of what we were drinking. Whenever we asked for help, we received it right away. Last negative point is that the tables are way too close to each other. Think like 20cm apart. Getting in and out without bothering the guests sitting next to you is impossible for whoever is sitting against the window. Focusing on your conversation is also very difficult. Even though I enjoyed the sushi, I don’t think I’ll return for the overall experience. Maybe a good take out!

Was just refused entrance “by the boss” while there was plenty of space

Really disappointing that they are charging €0.80 for a teeny tiny glass of TAP water. I don’t think there is any need for that. The food is ok, as well as the atmosphere.

I guess the staff had a difficult night because I’ve seen lots of good reviews. But honestly it was really messy and stressful for us. They lost everyone’s order and wouldn’t even know what they were serving us, people had to be guessing and explaining every time. Long waits, a lot of messed orders, and not only for us but all groups in the big table, so ambience wasn’t great. Sadly It wasn’t the best experience even though the food that we were able to get was really good.. A small gesture would have been appreciated, but we only got a “sorry for the waiting when leaving” I’ve never been so anxious while eating

Awesome true sushi 🍣 the only place with true wasabi

At the Japanese and Korean food festival in the Euromast park in Rotterdam I came across the stand of sushifanatics. A very simple stall with only 1 purpose. Delivering fresh and super good quality fish and seafood donburi and sushi. I was lucky to arrive early in the day. The baka salmon roll and the 3 seafood donburi were really of super good quality. The rice was perfect; not too sour and not overcooked. The only downside was that the intestinal tract was still in the black tiger shrimp.

We had a pleasant time at Sushi Fanatics. Sushi is great yum (their tuna + scallop 🤌🏻) and the seating is a whole experience :) Matcha is also super nice.

just so so good. service was super friendly and quick. the quality if the fish was amazing, every roll melted in ur mouth. the nori was also really good. the matcha latte was also really delicious. my only advice for customers would be to skip the side dishes (gyozas etc.) as they do not always match the quality of the nigiri or the rolls.

We could only make a reservation at 8:30 PM which was fine for us. Upon arrival (8:20 PM) we had to report that we were too early (the table was already ready and if we had had to wait that was fine). Food was fine although we were seated right next to the door which was chilly over time. People (takeaway) come and go, so despite the question whether the door could be closed (which was allowed), it resulted in it remaining open. Once again the food was excellent with some less mundane dishes. But at 9:00 PM we were asked if we wanted to order something because the kitchen was closing. Um, we just sat down? I fully respect the fact that you want to close at 10:00 PM but the kitchen then closes at 9:00 PM? And you're still taking reservations at 8:30 PM? That's a bit strange, isn't it? This really detracted from an evening out and we quickly ate our food and paid for it.

Excellent!!! Very tasty sushi spot, very fast service. Absolutely incredible eel nigiri. 🤤 everything we ordered was delightful. Music needs a little love, though, very random, and inconsistent playlist that changes the mood very quickly, and need to figure out a way to make splitting bills possible, it's 2024.

Hands down the best sushi I’ve had in Amsterdam. The service is super friendly, really fast and the food is incredible. I think the prices are really good for the quality of the products, would 100% recommend. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also so nice, it’s very cozy and comfy and I’m looking forward to coming back soon.

the last time i visited was a while ago, but i can tell you that it was a really good experience!! sushi was delicious and they serve amazing matcha 🍵 the atmosphere was amazing, interior is really cute. they have this japanese style vibe to it where they have seats on the ground upstairs. would love to come back again!

Really really worth the long travel. The seatings are a little awkward on the 1st floor, just 1 long table and everyone seated will share the same table. But, let the food talks!!! Highly recommend to buy nigiri set per person, because, why not!!! Desserts are also define!!!

The sushi arrived quickly, you can order through the website, very convenient. The sushi is delicious and so is the dessert. Shrimp fries with truffle mayonnaise are great! Good beer and matcha. Also good wasabi and ginger. The price is a little high, everything else is great!

A bit pricy but sushi was very good

We went to the restaurant first two/three years ago while it was at old address. Went to this new location a couple of times. The food is always a charm service is good usually. But this post is to complain about the service. The staff were busy and did not remember what they need to do. Wrong order (tiny one but still), missing napkins and other small things, did not bring water to table (all other tables have), appointment messed up (phone call guy did not put in the system or system did not work properly), slightly indifferent service. I think the owner should probably train their new staff better. Food and drinks are amazing. Service can certainly be improved, at least I think to match up the food level.

Great reasonable price sushi. Hotate is great 😊👍 ikura is small. however, charging for tab water is not cool. The seating upstairs is also a bit awkward. Recommend to sit downstairs instead

best sushi i’ve had in the netherlands, matcha is good too. been here multiple times but when i went today the two people working seemed so depressed and were kinda rude ish? i walked in and greeted them saying i had a reservation and they ignored me for awhile and then seemed annoyed and finally acknowledged me. i’m not an entitled or bratty person, i don’t expect much but i felt like i was inconveniencing them by being there, just was not a good vibe at all

The sushi is amazing the best one I had in the Netherlands! The quality of the fish is very good. The interior is nothing fancy but the food makes up for it.

I had a great time at this place. The food was amazing, especially the rice—it was so good I didn't fill up as fast as usual. Loved that I had room to try more dishes. The fish was super fresh and the presentation is great too. But upstairs, everyone's sitting at one big table, which felt kinda weird. Maybe it's normal in Japan, but it felt awkward being so close to strangers while trying to have a conversation. Heads up on that! Oh, and major bummer—they don't do the matcha parfait anymore, which was a big reason I came here! Still, I'd totally recommend it despite those little things!

Recently drove from Rotterdam to Amsterdam to try the sushi here. Let me tell you it was worth it! The fish tasted super fresh and the sake was perfect. They serve delicious wasabi with a percentage of 36.7% original wasabi plant. The restaurant is small and the service is a bit less, but we came for quality sushi. Definitely recommended!

Great food, but seriously overpriced

The employees are anything but friendly and helpful, and if you ask something about the menu, they simply don't know. And don't offer to find out either. It could be a bit cleaner. The menu cards are dirty and the tables are also dirty. Shame.
