Rollingsushi Beethovenstraat in Apollobuurt

A slightly disheveled takeout joint for sushi rolls mostly. Very young employees who do not inspire confidence. Quickly but sloppily made sushi rolls with no character, minimally slung together.... not even sliced, as we discovered back in our hotel room -- how were we supposed to eat them? No extras, not even the usual sliced ginger. We were not offered extra wasabi or soy sauce, and the wasabi was miniscule. We will not return.

We came for the sushi sandwich and it was really delicious. Nice and crispy and well filled. Friendly employees and we were able to sit for a while, it is very small but when we got there it was still quiet. Highly recommended, I would go back for it.

So I thought this was really terrible. Came there ofcourse for the sushi sandwich. When we came in, the girls were very busy doing other things instead of helping customers. I think I had to wait 10 minutes before I was helped, which was strange considering I was the only one in the shop except for 1 woman. Finally helped, had to wait about 5/10 minutes for the sushi sandwich. That's neat. I was quite excited to try it because I already had it at Mr Sushi and I really liked it there. But really what a disappointment this was. The only positive was that the fish was fresh. The rest was dry, the rice almost fried too long, it tasted burnt. No, sorry, but this was really nothing. At one point more people came in even though it is a really small space. Not suitable for people who quickly become overstimulated. Long story short: no, that was 3x nothing and not worth the money.

The food is delicious! And the people are very friendly and have a smile! :) recommended

It takes ages to get your order, the kitchen is ok but i am about to kill myself while watching the young blonde lady’s slooooowness. It literally took 10 min to put the order into the bag. I ended up with cold meal thanks a lot!

Got such a popular crispy sandwich today. Very thin piece of fishy tasting salmon between 2 pieces that were much too oily and fried slices of rice, and that for €10 each.. Staff rude, upon entering we were not greeted and it seemed as if we were not registered, when we finally asked if we could order we were helped with a grumpy face. Too bad for the owner.

I honestly don't understand the hype! What a disgusting sandwich. Very hard baked and so dark in color. Made it on Tuesday and really regret it. I could just tap it on the table as hard as it was. Really hopeless! Got it today from Tanaka in Hoofddorp and judge the difference for yourself. It was so tasty that I was so disappointed that I only got 1. Much larger in size. So don't go to Rollingsushi like a flock of sheep. You get sushi stone instead of sushi sandwich.

Something like this has never happened to me in a restaurant 🤢🤢🤢 November 29th 7:15 p.m. The very young blonde employee at the checkout didn't pay any attention to us at first even though we were standing at the checkout and wanted to order. Instead, she talked very loudly with her private friends and ate herself at the counter. I had to ask myself if I could place the order. She took the order and put on gloves and then continued eating edamames and licking her fingers. No attention is paid to hygiene. She touched the food with her licked gloves. our order and that of others. When I pointed out that I didn't want food touched with her spit, she put on different gloves, wrapped the order in the packaging and cheekily threw it on the counter in my direction. I have never experienced anything so unhygienic and unfriendly in my entire life. People who value hygiene and respect should not eat here. She also kept passing food over to her friends the whole time and was very loud and very unprofessional. I paid for the meal but didn't eat it. The other employees didn't apologize either.

Sushi sandwich was disappointing. Took a really long time too, not worth the hype.

Pokebowl in a deep fried sandwich. Interesting approach to their flagship product. It's nice, but the sandwich was soggy and oily. Didn't try the other products.

Not worth the hype, the sandwich completely fell apart and there was a large thick slice of salmon on it, not finely sliced ​​so it was easier to get a good bite while eating. I expected it to be tastier, but this was not the case. Too little space to eat it, only 2 tables outside and little seating space inside, you can at least expect that if you pay 10 euros that you can sit down and eat it warm! And also about the service of the employees, not customer friendly at all.

It is a shame! We went here every Thursday for a year long. People here recognized us every time and were kind. But recently they have some new products I guess which attract so many people, making the small shop such a busy place during dinner time. I understood and found it good for the shop to do well-business. But the downside of this story is, I had to wait 25 minutes!!!!! For my order!!!! I understood people were getting their food within a couple of minutes as they had some pre-prepared food and mine needs to be freshly prepared. But 25 min waiting time is not acceptable and even without any warning ahead of time! I was in de end one of the few people who were in de shop waiting for their order. And those “few” people just came in the shop a minute ago! If I asked, why it took so long… the poor kitchen was then blamed: the kitchen was occupied for frying rice… … therefore my steamed food couldn’t be prepared… Make sure you have the capacity to prepare a good amount of orders. Otherwise, warn people before hand what they may expect! 25 min waiting is not acceptable! But warn people before hand: if you have not the time, order other food. It is really a shame that we after one whole year weekly visit are having this awful experience. Time to say goodbye.

I was there because of the sushi sandwich. The staff are nice and work hard to clear the crowds. What the rest of the sushi tastes like... no idea. The sushi sandwich is overhyped in my opinion. I ate both the tuna and salmon. Just give me a normal sushi roll. The sandwiches cost rounded per piece €10 Nothing wrong with the business and the staff.

Super sushi sandwich. One isn't enough for you, so you quickly order a second one. Then it is pricey and you cannot sit normally. Definitely recommended!!

Fresh sushi with an extensive choice. The nigiri was particularly tasty

Small tent without seating option. Viral sushi sandwich was ready quickly and tasted great. Not worth the hype, but certainly not bad either. Sushi rolls were also fine. There is certainly better sushi, but if you want to go for the sandwich it's worth a try (for €9.50)

Owner of this place deserves all the props. He delivers and is kind! Never sold out and you get viral sushi sandwich freshly made. Lot of respect bc it must be lot of planning and logistics involved. The neighbourhood isn’t the most vibrant one. Posh, yes! I’m happy there is still some people smiling at each other. Staff is formal and professional. Little smile would top it off. I wouldn’t say it’s a cosy place. But hey, the intention of the owner is to offer affordable sushi; fresh and quick. P.S. there is always garbage left behind around the sitting area…maybe it’s good to take a look to keep it clean for others.

Terrible tent. Staff is not hospitable and normal greetings cannot be avoided. Ladies are very proud. You get aggressively mediocre sushi. Any sushi place is better than this.

Delicious sushi sandwich. When I had to pay, the amount did not match what I ordered. When I asked for the receipt, I said I would get it when it was ready. Only then did we find out that 2 instead of 1 sandwich had been delivered and therefore it was wrong. Because it was very busy we let it go. But if she had given the receipt immediately, we could have responded sooner.

I got 2 of the popular sushi sandwiches yesterday. One of the two had long blonde hair and it was really in the sandwich 🥲 so only 1 person was able to enjoy it. It was super nice and crispy. We had already driven away so going back was out of the question!

Crispy rice sandwich is the bomb. Super tasty, a bit pricey and really worth it.

I came here today and bought Bubble tea. After I drank it I got a stomach ache. Excellent service.

Had the tonkatsu bowl, tonkatsu sandwich and tuna + salmon rolls. Overall pretty solid. The salmon was on point. I feel the balance of the tuna was off because of the spiciness. But the tonkatsu rocked. Star of the show.

Got bubble tea, matcha latte was okay, but the brown sugar did not taste good. The tapioca balls in particular were hard and crumbled with every bite (not cooked properly?) This should be improved. Other than that it looked fine.

Nice concept. Often get sushi with the kids. Excellent price-quality ratio. But definitely go for the katsi sandwich: it's to die for!

This sushi was sooo delicious!!! And Not only the rolls but the other plates were delicious as well. I recommend trying the week,’s special. When I was there, the week's special was curry and being a harsh critic of curry myself, I've got to admit that it was just perfect. I stumbled upon this cute restaurant and the modern hip vibe got me in. The personnel were so heartwarming that I gave it a chance and then I found myself ordering for the next couple of days while I was in town. The salmon was fresh, soft and felt like from a “fancier” restaurant. Highly recommend and will be coming back on my next visit!

The most terrible service I have ever had! I came with 3 kids to eat at the place because they were super hungry. There are 3 tables outside. It looks like a cafe. I sent kids to the toilet room to wash hands before eating as usual. They know where it was because we came to this place many times before. But this time the guy at the counter stoped them and said that the toilet was only available for personnel. When I started to argue that any cafe or restaurant in Amsterdam has to provide a toilet to the clients the “owner” told us to go other place! His toilet requires a special permission from him but we didn’t ask first! He also told us that his place was not a restaurant but a shop. Finally he just refused to serve. So, I had to leave with 3 disappointed kids, 2 of them crying. Do you think it’s acceptable?

The culinary experience was superb. The staff were some of the most kind-hearted people and aimed to make the entire encounter a positive one. Definitely would recommend it.

My partner and I are from Australia and on holidays in Amsterdam and came across Rolling Sushi a few days ago. We are very impressed with the freshness and the quality of the food here and highly recommend them.

Het verbaast me dat je in deze barre tijden nog voor een paar euro sushi kan halen die ook nog eens heerlijk smaakt. Katsi broodje ook een aanrader!

Lekkere sushi, snel gemaakt & je wordt vriendelijk geholpen. Niet heel erg fan van sushi. Maar hier ga ik zeker vaker langs !

Perfecte snack ook als je gezond wilt eten. Verse sushi voor een goede prijs. De bediening is heel aardig en helpt goed bij keuzes maken. Aanrader is de ebi met garnaal en de tatsi. Mijn kinderen zijn dol op de tatsuta met de heerlijke sesamsaus!

Ik heb lang in Azie gewoond en bij Rolling Sushi heb je in ieder geval het idee dat je aziatisch eten eet. Dat is een groot compliment want 90% van de aziatische restaurants in Amsterdam smaakt naar albert heijn en lidl. Ik zou wel aanraden om flink te bestellen want de gerechtjes smaken goed maar zijn relatief klein in vergelijk met de hollandse maag. Prima!

The idea is great, super minimalistic and great food. Who said that delicious sushi has to be expensive? At first I was confused that the rolls weren't cut, but they told me that's the idea. I found it super easy to eat. There are a lot of veggie options. 5/5 Would recommend.

AMAZING!! Arrived in Amsterdam during lockdown and RollingSushi has been my best eating solution. I am a vegetarian and it has really good vegetarian options, OMLI - MUSHI - CUKI. Visited the store the first time because I like to see where my Sushi is coming from and just LOVED the cleanliness and decoration of the place. Made me feel confident to order and re-order later online as well. CONGRATULATIONS!
