Sanks is and will always be my favorite!!! I always have food delivered, so I can't say much about the atmosphere. I popped in once, and it looked very cozy. The staff is super friendly. The food is always delicious. If there's anything you're not happy with, they take it very seriously and offer a suitable solution. Highly recommended! Greetings, Kim

The first, and definitely the LAST, time I'll order from here. I waited hours for my order. I called the restaurant countless times, but they never answered. I never received my order. This is truly disgustingly unprofessional and incredibly poor service. Never again.

We already had our first order from Sushi Sanks and, although there was a misunderstanding with the order, the team handled it incredibly well. They were quick to respond, very professional, and made sure to make things right. We gave it a second try and the sushi was excellent, fresh, tasty, and beautifully prepared. We’ll definitely order again!

I don't know where to begin. I wouldn't call this sushi myself. The rice wasn't good. The salmon and tuna looked like they were cut by a child. "Sushi" was thrown together very quickly and sloppily. Tasteless and far from sushi quality. This was a delivered order.

I was craving sushi last night we went there at 23:00 they were still open and they had everything it was delicious sushi we did take away! Highly recommend when its night time and if u have guests

I ordered online from Sanks Sushi Amsterdam, and the delivery took a while, but it was still within the expected timeframe. I ordered two poke bowls, and they were fresh, well-prepared, and delicious. Everything looked neat and tidy. The price is reasonable, although I think it's a bit pricey for what you get. All in all, I'll definitely order again if you're looking for a fresh and delicious meal!

We picked up food today, and it was okay, but I expected more. What I found annoying is that when someone asks a question, the first response is something like "Hey." So, customer service needs some work.

I walked in, and it looked super cozy. The service was friendly, and I even had a chat with the cashier, Noah. I would definitely come here again and recommend it to friends and family.

Ordered at 11:30 PM, it said 11:40 PM that my food was on its way, now it's 1:00 AM. I can't reach the store. The food arrived cold and all mixed up. Osdorp isn't far from where I live, so I find it very strange that my food is completely cold and mixed up. I find this so annoying. I also contacted a lady at the counter who also said the delivery person was on the way and she would let me know, but that never happened. It's a shame, people. I would never order from here in my life, nothing but hassle. The date is 4-08-25 00:45. PS: I clearly indicated that the courier should bring change, and the courier simply said: "The cashier didn't give me change. Is it possible to pay by card?" What a stupid question, otherwise I would have already ordered online via the account and opted not to pay in cash, and the courier literally said: "I'm going to call." The owner can't get his employees to fix it.

We placed a pickup order at the restaurant. When we arrived at the agreed-upon time to pick up the order, they couldn't find our food. They spent over ten minutes searching for the order, thinking it had been taken by one of their delivery drivers. They couldn't find it and concluded they'd forgotten to prepare it. We had to wait another 15 minutes for the order. In total, we waited over an hour. I wasn't even offered a drink or any compensation while waiting. This isn't the first time we've had issues with an order. Last time, we had to wait two hours for the order to be delivered to us, which is a two-minute walk from the restaurant. So, we decided to order takeout this time. But that didn't work either. Worst of all, the person who spoke to me didn't bother being friendly or offering any compensation for the situation. Edit: After our review, we were contacted directly by the restaurant. They were eager to improve their service after our experience and even offered us a nice discount code as compensation. That was much appreciated.

Unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience. The food was delivered late, and when it finally arrived, the chicken was cold and sloppily cut. The quality was disappointing, and it seemed like little attention had been paid to the food.

2 hours and 58 minutes later, the delivery driver finally showed up at the door. I received a can of cola as compensation. For days afterward, I tried to reach an agreement with the owner, but he never responded.

I ordered Sushi via UberEsts and it just never arrived. Even the support agent of UberEats was not able to get them on the phone.

I ordered my food more than 2 hours ago. I received an email with the expected delivery time between 22:55 and 23:10. It is now 23:35 and I have not received anything. I try to contact them but there is no answer. Very bad service!!!!! I can understand that it is busy, but at least keep your customer informed.

Order placed on takeaway around 8pm, which was supposed to arrive at 10:20pm. We waited until 12:30am. The restaurant didn't answer the phone + the order was said to be delivered? Unbelievable

Delivery didnt even arrive!! We ordered it at 9:30pm, and waited 2 hours to call the restaurant to be told it was 5 minutes away, we then waited another hour and called about 20 times and every call was ignored. We spent £40 on sushi for it to not even come and be lied to about when it is arriving??? Because of this we missed 2 of our trains and had no food so we went the whole night without eating. Thanks Sanks sushi for your diabolical service and rude, unhelpful staff. I really enjoy spending my money without receiving anything in return and waste my evening calling up your restaurant! I’ve attached the proof of (just some) of the calls to the restaurant that were blatantly ignored. One time throughout these phone calls they actually picked up, only to hear my voice asking where our food was and of course they hung out and continued to ignore the further calls. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. Shame on them. We are still expecting a refund!

i ordered food and the service i received was absolutely ABYSMAL. It took 3 hours to “arrive”… which it didn’t even arrive anyway… I called the staff on multiple occasions( over the 3 hours) to chase up my order and nobody was responding. When I did get a response, I asked the woman how long my food was gonna be and she hung up the phone- never got a response since. I missed TWO trains for food that never even arrived. I’m EXTREMELY disappointed as I spend €35 on NOTHING. Staff were completely incompetent and delivery service was absolutely horrific. Don’t order from here if you actually want to eat some food… you won’t receive it…. Never got a refund either. I don’t even have the words to describe how TERRIBLE this place is

I waited more than 2 hours for my food. Once it arrived. The food was ice cold. Just not edible. Why do I only get 1 soy sauce? When I ordered for 50 euros. I ordered extra sauce. I clearly stated no ginger and no wasabi. I do get that extra but not the soy. Eating sushi that is ice cold without soy. Too bad, waste. Given the reviews you have received in the past few days? Que pasa man… the food is just not tasty. Really too bad… I'm annoyed because I know you can do better. Craving food is gone also because it took so long.

Order sushi for take away on a Sunday night, definitely DONT RECOMMEND!! Delivery took almost 3 hours!!!! Just insane, and when finally we got the food honestly we were quite disappointed sushi was just quite average, definitely not ordering ever again!

I placed an order for a nice evening with the two of us. After an hour I only got half. Then I contacted them. They admitted that they had made a mistake and would send it later. I received nothing and I have not had any contact. Too bad, because we often order here. There were some points for improvement before, but now it seems to be going downhill. So definitely not recommended at the moment.

After the experience below I went back for a second chance. This time there was different staff at the counter taking the orders. Had to wait a long time for my order. But the sushi was delicious. The cream cheese with one of the sushis was generously topped. Got diarrhea again a few hours later. Even though I had different sushi this time, that could have been a hygiene issue (frying oil that is not good?) or that I have become allergic to something. ======== Got sushi here again. The sushi was good in terms of size, lots of garnish. I am not satisfied with this visit. But when I tell why, Google blocks my review. I got sick from the fish there. I think something to do with hygiene. I will come back soon for a second chance. For now I will take off a star. ====== Just ordered sushi here. Walked into the store at 5:00 PM. Had to wait 5 minutes before I could order because the order taker was busy with something else. My order would take 30 minutes to make. In the meantime, 4 customers came and left because they had to wait so long. Sushi cook was sweating, still putting together 3 orders for me on his own. Finally got the sushi. Sushi was fresh and tasted good. Points for improvement: - if you know that there are busy times, play along so that the waiting time per customer is shorter. Make a distinction between orders via the internet and orders in the store. - The nigiri sushi was a large ball of rice with a large piece of fish. I have been to Japan and ate sushi at a sushi emperor. Good sushi has a small ball of rice and a large piece of fish. - If you are one person and you want to try different sushi, you have to order a lot. Some sushi comes in sets of 8.

Perfect. Didn't have to wait long and could eat inside. The fried shrimp was unexpectedly amazing, but my favourite, the unagi maki, was also really good.

Very good sushi and poke bowls, the cashiers are very nice and you notice that they take their work very seriously.

Fresh and generous portions of sushi rolls. The combination of the good sticky rice and the fish is delicious!!! The crunchy version is super crispy and arrived nice and warm too! There is friendly contact every time and the delivery people are always cheerful and friendly, which is really pleasant. I order regularly and the order is delivered within an hour. Wonderful, we are happy. Thank you!

Update 3 years later: Last time I wrote a review was 3 years ago (see below). Now I write it again: I am still very satisfied and happy. Only place where I order sushi when I'm hungry again. The savings program also keeps me as a customer and I like that. Thank you. I have ordered from Sanks Sushi 4 times now. That means I am very satisfied with their food, delivery and service. It is also very nice that you can order directly from the website and they do not charge delivery costs! But I also live nearby.
