Swegg in Centrum

This location has been open from 8:00 AM since this week (even on Saturdays, which I found particularly convenient). Highly recommended. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the quality of the products AND the friendly staff/owner.

Really recommend this place - I came here for breakfast every day while I was in Leiden because I liked the food so much. I talked to the owner a bit and it is clear that he really put a lot of thought into the flavours. I had the original, the deluxe and the sunshine and all were great!

You guys, I was at the absolute sweggiest place ever today. The food was delicious. We had the fries and they were about €6.70. There's a super cute little egg at the entrance; it's like a baby🐣🐣🐣🍳🥚. I give it a 10/10!!

Holy crap! I was at this spectacular restaurant, and my mind was blown! Jam with egg? Just fine! 6, 7? Just fine. Because nobody here gives a hoot. They really need to add mango, mango, mango, matcha!

5 out of 5 eggs on the sandwich – Swegg is the king of egg buns 🍔 We were looking for a quick snack in Leiden and ended up at Swegg – and folks, let me tell you: This wasn't a snack, it was a revelation! The brioche buns with egg... a culinary declaration of love to my stomach. You won't find anything like that in Germany – here you not only get a fried egg on top, but also a reason to emigrate to Leiden. 😅 The service? Simply competent and friendly. And the ambiance? Urban, cool, a bit hipster, but in a charming way. 😎 The bottom line: If you're in Leiden and don't try anything at Swegg, you haven't truly experienced Leiden. We'll definitely be back!

First of all: the worker at the counter was an abosolute sweetheart! Super friendly and we had a lovely little chat even though I’m usually quite shy when I’ve never been somewhere before. He really did the most to make it fun and to make the egg sandwich delicious. As for the Jellow egg sandwich, I walked 25 minutes home before I ate it and it was still absolutely delicious! Interesting combination of flavors that was balanced very well. Can only imagine how good it would’ve been if I would’ve eaten it immediately at the store - next time for sure!

With Leiden Station so close, I made a quick stop for the deliciously crispy sweet potato fries with that super tasty topping. 😋

It's not your average breakfast, but a delicious experience you won't soon forget. The "swegg" is a perfect balance of a fluffy egg, the right bread, and surprising extras that make the dish truly special. Everything is fresh, well-seasoned, and prepared with attention to detail. The combination of textures and flavors was just right—not too heavy, but absolutely nutritious and filling.

Delicious sandwich and fries, different from the usual, but exceptionally tasty! Not the usual baguettes with the standard fillings for a change. And definitely good for breakfast and brunch too.

I had a delicious egg wrap – not just any egg, but a true explosion of flavors! The coffee was also excellent. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the price-quality ratio is excellent. A place where you feel welcome. I'll definitely be back!

Enjoyed a delicious burger (crispy) and crispy yet soft hash browns with truffle mayonnaise. It was filling but not heavy on the stomach! There's still plenty on the menu to keep you coming back for more delicious treats.

Really good food. Liked the whole concept of making burgers with just eggs instead of meat patty (you do have the option of adding bacon if you want) which most of the time leaves you too full. But their dishes shall leave you filled but not feeling like you ate too much. Also good variety in the menu. Definitely recommend this place :)

Went there for their original with bacon. Food was great and the coffee was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would visit again next time I’m in Leiden. It is conveniently close to the train station and is walking distance to most attractions.

Something different for a change, you could call it an egg burger. On a nice soft bun, tasty and freshly made. Super clean with a fresh (egg) yellow interior and a friendly owner/staff. The hash brown was also delicious and nicely presented. Maybe open at 10 am instead of 12. I'd suggest taking advantage of breakfast time, as there are several hotels nearby.

Very tasty burgers! The staff recommended the Delux burger and I did not regret it. Very tasty egg, bacon, frosted onions, sriracha sauce! Super! After eating the burger, there was no feeling of heaviness like after MC Donald's burgers. The staff was very kind, smiling and friendly. I recommend it!

We had a truly fantastic sandwich here. The egg was creamy and well-seasoned, the bun was delicious, and the toppings were the perfect finishing touch. It's a great location, conveniently located in the city center. Perfect for grabbing breakfast or lunch on the go. We'll definitely be eating here again.

Physical location newly opened on 01-08-2025. Great concept. Instead of a meatburger patty, you get eggs. Makes the meal much lighter and of course Protein! Due to them just opening, expect to wait a bit as they are still setting up their routine. Worth a try if ur in Leiden as its just outside the station.

Popped in here this weekend for an egg sandwich and coffee—and was really pleasantly surprised. The "Original" was delicious: perfectly cooked egg, a nice balance of flavors, and everything super fresh. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. The coffee was also great! Will definitely be back.

I was pleasantly surprised by how light yet filling the sandwiches were. It didn't feel heavy on my stomach like meat or poultry, which is perfect if you're on the go or want a quick lunch. What I especially appreciated about Swegg was the flexibility in terms of when you can eat it. You can eat the sandwiches for breakfast, lunch or dinner, which means you can have them all day long. I also tried the hash browns and the Sweet 'N Cheesy fries and they were great too! All in all, I would highly recommend Swegg to anyone looking for a unique and delicious dish. It is a great option for people looking for a healthy and tasty meal, without feeling heavy after eating. Definitely recommended!

Bizarrely delicious! Super tasty burger, which besides being rich in taste is also light. Get it if you get the chance! Definitely also a good option for the athletes among us. High in proteins because of the egg (duh.), so the perfect snack after sports. Really recommended.

The sandwiches are truly delicious! We went to pick up several sandwiches during a food festival to take home. Literally everything they sell is super tasty. We look forward to the next food festival where we can eat such a delicious sandwich. Original concept and really worth a try! We hope to have a permanent location soon so that this can become our new regular lunch spot.

Finally something new! The buns are a breath of fresh air in the race for the tastiest burgers. Swegg does it differently and goes for the class apart, egg! And that makes everyone happy, right? Definitely worth a try!!
