The décor is classic and full of character, making it the perfect spot to settle in and unwind. The service here truly sets it apart. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and make sure you feel right at home. They go above and beyond to offer helpful recommendations, and their genuine care for the guest experience is evident in every interaction. As for the food, it was nothing short of amazing. We had the French chicken, bottle of red wine, coffee and cognac.

Visited this place on a sunny autumn day, mis October. They have a large covered terrace with lots of very affective heaters so was lovely to sit outside. Very good service with drinks being served very quickly, house wines by the glass were very good quality. Lunch menu was good with sandwiches, broodjes, soup, salad, and krokets. A very good experience in the centre of Laren. No onsite parking, but public parking is is close by. Thankfully, there is no playground for children so was only adults when we were there. Easy access for wheelchair users.

Had a very tasty lunch for very reasonable prices. Actually everything was good, although the service could have been a little friendlier. The terrace was full, so it may have been because of the crowds.

Op woensdagmiddag hier op dit gezellig terras iets gaan drinken met een tapasplankje. Zowel de wijn als het tapasplankje lekker was en zijn we zeer vriendelijk ontvangen door Ruben die ons goed heeft bediend. Daarom zijn wij daar de dag nadien s'avonds daar iets gaan eten. Die avond zijn wij ontvangen door die die zeer vriendelijk was en ons zeer goed heeft vediend. Ik heb de steak genomen die zeer lekker was en mijn vrouw heeft een salade riche genomen, het was één van de beste dat ze ooit heeft gegeten. Bij die twee heerlijke gerechten hebben we een lekkere fles rosé wijn gedronken. Als wij daar terug in de buurt zijn gaan wij zeker en vast terug.

Used to be a nice brown pub, now a lunch café. People and cars watching at busy intersection. Nice and friendly staff. Food reasonable. Meat ball with 2 slices of bread for ten euros. For that money you expect 2 thick country browns, but you get 2 thin, cowardly supermarket half-whole wheat sandwiches. Disappoints...

Een echt Goois restaurant. Joviale en correcte klantgerichte bediening. Op een zaterdagavond rond 18.15 gaan eten. Hadden binnen nog net een tafeltje bij het raam. Cafe zat bijna vol met jonge gezinnen, logisch rond dit tijdstip. Wachttijd was goed, eten was mooi opgediend. Smaak en baktijd was minder. Zo zou mijn tuf en surf medium zijn maar die was doorbakken. Prijs-kwaliteit is zeker in orde

A real Goois restaurant. Jovial and correct customer-oriented service. Went for dinner on a Saturday evening around 6:15 PM. We just had a table inside by the window. The cafe was almost full of young families, which is logical at this time. Waiting time was good, food was nicely served. Taste and baking time was less. For example, my tuff and surf was supposed to be medium, but it was well done. Price-quality is certainly in order.

Vele malen gebeld voor het maken van een reservering ; telefoon werd even zovele malen niet beantwoord. Mail gestuurd; geen reactie. Toch maar gegaan; werden zeer ongastvrij bejegend en kregen een tafel toegewezen op het terras “ onder de drup”. Kreeg de indruk dat men zich volledig richt op de locale bevolking en onbekende gasten worden liever buiten de deur gehouden. Na 5 minuten ‘onder de drup’ te hebben gezeten vertrokken en vervolgens heerlijk geluncht bij restaurant tegenover ‘het bonte paard’ ,waar we wél gastvrij werden ontvangen!

We recently had the pleasure of visiting 't Bonte Paard in Laren, Netherlands, and it truly left a lasting impression. A vibrant character, sporting disco shoes (clearly a regular), graciously extended an invitation to join their private birthday celebration (Benny’s). Immersing ourselves in the authenticity of a Dutch birthday party was an absolute delight, as everyone embraced us with warmth and hospitality. The live country and rock music further heightened the evening's enjoyment, infusing the atmosphere with energy and liveliness. Overall, 't Bonte Paard exceeded all expectations, offering a charming and welcoming ambiance that I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking a memorable experience in Laren or Hilversum.

Cozy village café at a busy traffic intersection. Interior as you would expect in an old café. Operation smooth and customer friendly. Simple menu. Terrace overlooking traffic.

We came without reservation and place looked fully occupied. However, friendly stuff reassured us that we’ll be seated within ten minutes. That is also what happened. Food and drinks were delicious.

Usually fun, cozy and delicious. Except the club sandwich. I.pv. toasted bread was the fried bread. That is still possible, unless the butter has been absorbed into the bread, making it soggy and greasy like this time. But the cafe is always okay and cozy!

Sat in a nice spot in the corner by the window. Beautiful interior. Friendly service. Nice beer choice. Also helped with lifting a heavy table top. Nice experience. Westmalle Tripel and Duvel are on the menu for €7. That's a bit much for beer that costs €1.95 to €2.50 in the supermarket.

Zeer druk bezocht (eet)café, we moesten aan de bar staan wachten tot er een tafeltje vrij kwam. Bediening houdt het goed in de gaten en als mensen die zitten niks meer bestellen, zorgen ze dat die mensen snel de rekening krijgen zodat we weer een tafeltje vrij komt. Vooral de diverse tosti’s zijn een aanrader. Toiletten zijn buiten (!)

Plek die historie ademt. Dinsdagmiddag propvol, maar gezellig. Eten (tonijnsalade, tosti's, broodje ossenworst, thee) uitstekend. Bediening geroutineerd en vriendelijk.

Een plezierig informele locatie voor een heerlijke lunch. We werden na ons bezoek aan Singer Laren met z'n twaalven prima bediend door alert en vriendelijk personeel.

Gezellig druk, niet duur, gezellige bediening.

Heel gezellig. Wel erg druk en rumoerig waardoor je niet echt een gesprek kunt voeren.

Het was druk en moesten daardoor even wachten en dat werd beloond met goed eten en drinken in een unieke sfeer en interieur.

Gezellige bruine kroeg met een lekker menu

Prachtig oud pand. Als je binnenkomt ruik je het bier van de avonden ervoor. Maar dat mag de pret niet drukken. Het doet aan als een (grote) oude kroeg, maar de kaart en het eten is buitengewoon goed en restaurantwaardig. De kaart is daarbij ook heel verrassend. Mijn tafelgenoot had een Brioche met krabsalade. Daar zat een heerlijk gekookt ei op en sjalotjes. Ik had een ciabatta met carpaccio van de ossenhaas met ruim wat parmezaanse kaas, sla, kappertjes en truffelmayonaise. Het was heerlijk! Wel wat moeilijk eten. Het kapje heb ik lichtelijk overgoten met een hele goede olijfolie die ik heel snel na vragen ontving. De bediening was zeer snel en accuraat! Aanrader!

Sfeervol eetcafé, waar reserveren dringend gewenst is om wachten te voorkomen. Vriendelijke bediening. De menukaart heeft een gevarieerd aanbod van warme en koude lunchgerechten tegen een redelijke prijs.

Populair dorpscafé/restaurant. Beetje rommelige bruin café sfeer. Bediening iha vriendelijk maar soms erg traag. We waren met een groep van 10 en iedereen kreeg zijn bestelde drankje, behalve ik. Kan gebeuren. Vervolgens moest ik bij 4 bedieners opnieuw bestellen en een half uur later kwam eindelijk mijn bier. Opvallend goed eten. Tompouce met krab een kip vooraf om je vingers bij af te likken. De sate van ossenhaas als hoofdgerecht was niet minder goed.

Leuk voor de lunch, borrel of te eten. Altijd goed. Sfeer is niet normaal zo gezellig. Vooral in de avond. Binnen is heerlijk, of voor de deur. Achter is een soort asbak.

Best is the terrace. Unique views in spring and summer. Bar (now a bit more restaurant) breathes ancient times. Staff friendly. Easy mingling and contacts. Also great for a pitstop on a cycling tour as it is close to all kinds of cycling paths. Worth a visit. Highly recommended for people watching and -if you like- car watching. Can be busy especially at Friday/Saturday 6pm-22pm and sunny days. Great place unique visit.

Zeer goeie hotspot 👍🏼eten kan ik niet beoordelen had alleen snacks. Duurde wel lang voordat die kwamen maar het was druk in het diner. Dat was wel begrijpelijk maar blijft wel jammer.

Gezellige plek om even een drankje te doen en wat te eten. De bediening was snel en behulpzaam. De tosti was helaas een beetje verbrand. Het broodje geitenkaas was prima. Over het algemeen een gezellige sfeer, zeer vriendelijk personeel en een leuk uitzicht op het kruispunt.

Weer heel hartelijk dank voor de reservering dat ik voor het publiek oude boeken mocht taxeren. En dat al weer voor de 9e keer. Sinds 2008 kom ik al in 't Bonte Paard. Gezellig en lekker eten ... Ik hoop 21 december 2023 weer terug te komen.

Twee zalige tosti’s gegeten, leuke zaak, perfecte bediening. Een zesde ster als de drankjes in verhouding iets goedkoper zouden zijn, maar daar ben ik tenslotte Hollander voor. Helemaal tevreden

Prachtig zaak, Prof Drabb was daar met Eddy Smit van Magische loge in vergadering bijeen! Al heel gauw werd Prof Drabb verzocht op te treden met handlezen! Geweldig zaak!
