I went there a few times and i really e joyed it every time. The food, especially the shrimp dish for appetizers has always been my go-to dish every time i go there. The service is also good, everyone is very friendly and efficient, but it could be better if the restaurant can be a bit flexible and open in accommodating customer's need. The atmosphere us slways nice and cozy.

The food is an absolute rip-off! A so-called steak (3x4 cm), 7 mushrooms and 3 strands of carrot... and that is 33.-. A bunch of Gooi fools! Hilarious!

Jaimy is our new favorite, what a top-notch host. We felt welcome, we felt at home, we had a great time, we enjoyed ourselves, the food was delicious, everything was top-notch! Especially Jaimy.

What a lovely place! Upon entering, you immediately feel that warm, cozy brown pub vibe, complete with good old classics playing in the background. The staff is incredibly nice, helpful, and hospitable. For instance, we spontaneously received a fresh, still-nice-warm bread board on the house as an appetizer—very thoughtful! The food was truly fantastic from start to finish. The 'soup of the week' (Tom Kha Kai) was unbelievably delicious and full of flavor. For the main course, we had the 'dish of the week': a truffle risotto with incredibly tender steak. Even asking for some extra vegetables was no problem at all. The fries were nice and crispy, and the real truffle mayo finished it off perfectly. An absolute must if you want to enjoy a delicious meal in a relaxed, very pleasant atmosphere. We will 100% definitely be back here!

Waited over 20 minutes on the terrace without being acknowledged while other tables were served. We were a group of 3 Asians and 1 white guest, and the experience honestly felt discriminatory and very unwelcoming. Extremely disappointing service.

Hot chocolate and apple pie for two on a cold winter's day. Decent portions, though the place was a bit cold, and the service was friendly but looked a bit shabby and tired. It wasn't cheap either, but hey, it's Laren.

Not particularly friendly service. Good value for money though. Lots of people. Old building. That adds to the atmosphere, but I didn't feel particularly comfortable with a constant draft around my neck. Next time, I'll try one of the (quite numerous) establishments in the area.

Only had tea. A cozy, old-fashioned cafe. Quite busy, though; for peace and quiet, go elsewhere.

A compact menu with good sandwiches, salads, and a few hot options. The carpaccio sandwich was really well-filled, and the truffle mayonnaise was beautifully balanced. The goat cheese salad had fresh ingredients and a delicious vinaigrette. The terrace is lovely, especially in the summer. Prices are on the higher side, but in keeping with the neighborhood.

Very busy (they can't help it, of course, which is a good sign). The arrogant guy who was upset that they didn't have a preferred seat was, perhaps justifiably, but also very curtly reprimanded. I don't know what preceded that, but perhaps that would explain the hostess's lack of patience. The food is fine, nothing special. It's fast, though. Service is pleasantly quick, even with this crowd. The furniture does need a checkup. The screws in my chair were so loose that I could tighten them a bit by hand.

This cozy cafe is located in the charming town of Laren. Upon entering, we saw it was packed. It was a good thing we'd reserved a table for four for a bite to eat around 6 p.m. We were seated quickly and ordered sasumi and different meat dishes for each of us. Everything was delicious and flavorful. Beer and wine were included. Absolutely fantastic. Friendly service. Highly recommended!

A traditional cafe that's always busy; multifunctional. The food is delicious, but it's also a cafe. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is always great. It's cozy, a bit cluttered, and therefore very relaxed. You can eat both inside and outside on the terrace. The location is also perfect, right on the corner of "de Brink."

Visited this place on a sunny autumn day, mis October. They have a large covered terrace with lots of very affective heaters so was lovely to sit outside. Very good service with drinks being served very quickly, house wines by the glass were very good quality. Lunch menu was good with sandwiches, broodjes, soup, salad, and krokets. A very good experience in the centre of Laren. No onsite parking, but public parking is is close by. Thankfully, there is no playground for children so was only adults when we were there. Easy access for wheelchair users.

Op woensdagmiddag hier op dit gezellig terras iets gaan drinken met een tapasplankje. Zowel de wijn als het tapasplankje lekker was en zijn we zeer vriendelijk ontvangen door Ruben die ons goed heeft bediend. Daarom zijn wij daar de dag nadien s'avonds daar iets gaan eten. Die avond zijn wij ontvangen door die die zeer vriendelijk was en ons zeer goed heeft vediend. Ik heb de steak genomen die zeer lekker was en mijn vrouw heeft een salade riche genomen, het was één van de beste dat ze ooit heeft gegeten. Bij die twee heerlijke gerechten hebben we een lekkere fles rosé wijn gedronken. Als wij daar terug in de buurt zijn gaan wij zeker en vast terug.

Used to be a nice brown pub, now a lunch café. People and cars watching at busy intersection. Nice and friendly staff. Food reasonable. Meat ball with 2 slices of bread for ten euros. For that money you expect 2 thick country browns, but you get 2 thin, cowardly supermarket half-whole wheat sandwiches. Disappoints...

A real Goois restaurant. Jovial and correct customer-oriented service. Went for dinner on a Saturday evening around 6:15 PM. We just had a table inside by the window. The cafe was almost full of young families, which is logical at this time. Waiting time was good, food was nicely served. Taste and baking time was less. For example, my tuff and surf was supposed to be medium, but it was well done. Price-quality is certainly in order.

Een echt Goois restaurant. Joviale en correcte klantgerichte bediening. Op een zaterdagavond rond 18.15 gaan eten. Hadden binnen nog net een tafeltje bij het raam. Cafe zat bijna vol met jonge gezinnen, logisch rond dit tijdstip. Wachttijd was goed, eten was mooi opgediend. Smaak en baktijd was minder. Zo zou mijn tuf en surf medium zijn maar die was doorbakken. Prijs-kwaliteit is zeker in orde

Vele malen gebeld voor het maken van een reservering ; telefoon werd even zovele malen niet beantwoord. Mail gestuurd; geen reactie. Toch maar gegaan; werden zeer ongastvrij bejegend en kregen een tafel toegewezen op het terras “ onder de drup”. Kreeg de indruk dat men zich volledig richt op de locale bevolking en onbekende gasten worden liever buiten de deur gehouden. Na 5 minuten ‘onder de drup’ te hebben gezeten vertrokken en vervolgens heerlijk geluncht bij restaurant tegenover ‘het bonte paard’ ,waar we wél gastvrij werden ontvangen!
