Ordered two omelets from the Green Pantje. Tasted delicious, but a small glass of fresh orange juice cost €5.50. It smelled like theft, which unfortunately left the perfect omelet with a bitter aftertaste.

The atmosphere is nice, but very overpriced! A small beer is already around €4 (20cl), and an aioli sandwich for €6 is literally one scoop with two dips. It's nicely decorated and has a great atmosphere.

We needed a place to eat and it was pouring hard that day. Saw this place and we went inside. The interior is so nice and cozy. I bet its a favorite among natives because the inside is packed with families! I ordered soup and it wass sooo gooooddd. Price is very affordable and the food is worth to try. My friends tried the sandwich and it was also good. Crispy outside and flavorfull.

On Sunday, October 26th, I celebrated my 70th birthday with 38 people (friends and family) with high tea at Het Groene Pandje in Zaandam. Each tiered serving was for 6 people. We started with savory snacks: 6 small cups of mustard soup, 6 bitterbals on a piece of baguette, and 12 mini wraps: 6 with meat and 6 with salmon. Then came the sweet portion: 6 scones with 1 jar of jam and 1 jar of whipped cream. On the bottom tier were 3 cream puffs, 3 macarons, and 3 mini cheesecakes. So, we had to decide who wanted a macaron, a cream puff, or the mini cheesecake. Oh, and there were some blueberries and small pieces of strawberry on the tiered serving stand for those who wanted them. Come on! And that for 30 euros per person! Tea was refilled regularly. The service was friendly and quick. Nothing to complain about. No more high tea here!

We walked past it and spontaneously decided to have a cup of coffee and a sandwich. It was delicious. We'll definitely go back. 😋

We had a truly delicious meal and the seating was very comfortable. Definitely worth repeating! A beautiful building in the city center on the water. Apparently, there's also a terrace on the boat in front in the summer. Sounds wonderful. Note: Reservations are definitely recommended.

The sandwich was missing any mayo (which was mentioned in the menu) which made it very dry. Asked for mayo, nobody bothered to bring it, they tried to charge me for the extra mayo at the end. Very disappointing experience.

And the pancakes only came out after I finished my drink... lol What are they trying to do? And there was a spider web hanging from the powdered sugar container. Two people came and ordered two drinks and one pancake, but they only gave me one fork lol When we asked for another fork, they made a shit-eating face and didn't understand the language, so they started sarcastically saying "solo solo" among themselves. When paying, they deliberately didn't speak English but spoke in Dutch. When we didn't understand, the employee behind us snorted and said "English, English" lol The taste, portion size, service, cleanliness... And racism, it's a five-in-one combo... If possible, stop chatting and go eat in Amsterdam. There's nowhere else to eat here... Please...

This place is very nice to sit down with friends. The view of the city is very beautiful, staff are friendly and prices are great. I didn’t eat anything, but next time I go there, I will do. I saw the dishes next to me and smells very good. I recommend going there!

We read all the great reviews and were happy to have lunch on the boat. I ordered the Chickylilly and when I got it, it was very tasty (sauce/dressing) but I couldn't find any chicken. I opened the whole sandwich and there were a few tiny crumbs and no pulled chicken. When we asked the waiter where the chicken was, she pointed to the crumbs and said that's the chicken. I ate the sandwich thinking that was normal and paid our bill, but as we were leaving the next person got the same sandwich and it was filled with lots of chicken (overfilled)! My wife and I were pretty upset and don't know why we didn't get any chicken (not many Americans eating here at the time so we thought we were targeted for being American). We liked the meal but felt very upset when we saw other sandwiches compared to ours. My wife really liked her club sandwich, it was very good and tasty. We don't usually complain but we were furious at how my meal was compared to others

Great fun place for lunch, but if you choose the chicken satay for €23 and you get one chicken stick, that's just annoying compared to the full sandwiches... and the 'potato gratin' is just fries and they thought that was normal, I think it's weird. I had to leave it.

We were there on the first day of Pentecost with a large group. This was possible to reserve. We ate a delicious lunch tower, was well taken care of for young and old and with allergies it was also that something was done. Really recommended.

I just wanted to have a quiet coffee with my baby and my partner, but that was refused because there was apparently no room for the stroller. Seriously? What nonsense! No attempt to think along, zero flexibility. People: this is absolutely not a child-friendly place. And if there is no room for a simple stroller, I sincerely wonder whether people with disabilities are even welcome here. Where is the respect? Where is the inclusion? It is outrageous that young families — and possibly also people with a mobility disability — cannot feel welcome here.

Last week I went to the Groene Pandje for the first time in ages and it was a real disappointment for me! Due to food intolerances / allergies the choice of the menu is extremely limited. My choice eventually fell on the bun with smoked salmon, then without the lettuce, the egg and the cocktail sauce. They don't have an egg-free mayonnaise and so I asked if the chef could put a honey mustard sauce on it. So he can't. They can't make it (while it literally involves mixing mustard, honey, some salt, pepper and dill). What do you get as an option? 1 lousy bag of mustard and 1 lousy packet of honey "to put that on the bun yourself" A dry multigrain bun with smoked salmon with capers thrown on it ... You don't have to go there for sugar-free soft drinks either. I asked for a sugar-free tonic and I was looked at as if I was crazy! That's not so strange, there are definitely brands that also sell sugar-free tonic for the catering industry. But hey, that's still manageable. It's a real shame that you can't really eat anything at the Groene Pandje with a food allergy/intolerance, the vegan selection is very limited to just 2 dishes (for me vegan food is an option because there are virtually no allergens in it for me) and they give the vibe as if you were asking for a vegetarian option in the 80s!! No, this was the very last time I ate there, too bad because in general the food is pretty good there and the price/quality is ok.

This is a gem. The best service and tasteful lunch we had. The menu has a lot of options and the portions are big. I loved the atmosphere and the interior of the shop full of orchids. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Went here for breakfast (reserved) because it looked very cute. It is actually very attractively decorated. However, the food was a bit disappointing - especially for the price. The toast was only very sparsely topped and the croissant with Nutella came with cheap nut nougat cream instead of Nutella. And three eggs for €10 seems unbelievable for a German tourist.

Very good restaurant! The setting is pleasant, especially the terrace on the boat which offers a real plus. The prices are quite reasonable considering the quality of the dishes. The recipes are well thought out and truly excellent. The service is just as good and professional. The only small problem is not being able to have tap water and having to pay more than €7 for a bottle of less than 1 liter....

Very long waiting times and a very noisy environment. we order a pancake and we get a sort of crepe with a tiny package of "Nutella" closed, not even spread. we therefore ask for an additional package and they have the courage to make us pay for it.

‘t Groene Pandje looked super cozy with its ship-shaped external seating in the early spring sun. While the seating can be a little tight, we were not uncomfortable. For once our table was decorated with real flowers and more importantly, our doggy was allowed with us. Their full English breakfast is one of the best we’ve ever had: freshly squeezed orange jus and crispy bacon made my day. Perfection!

I still dream about their bacon burger at night. Something exceptional. Very tasty. It's one of the things I'll never forget about my trip to Amsterdam. High prices, but fair for the quality. Small place and always full. Friendly staff, they made us wait 10 minutes and gave us a table. Everything was really excellent, the only flaw: the price of water was a little excessive.

If only 't Groene Pandje could talk!! A former carpenter's house from 1793 is a popular meeting point where you can enjoy delicious food and drinks. The Club sandwich and delicious coffee are popular. You can see tools on the door handles and inside there is a smuiger and lamps with Zaanse facades. There are historical pen drawings. Since the Gedempte Gracht has undergone a metamorphosis, the city center of Zaandam with its Zaanse houses has attracted many new visitors. The water once came from the canal from the nearby Westzijderveld, which is now completely built up. It used to be a wide street with a canal where people lived and had a front garden. In 1858 the canal was filled in and later became a shopping street. There has been a canal again about ten years ago, but the name Gedempte Gracht remained. In 1981, 't Groene Pandje was purchased and became a catering destination. It was one of the first projects of construction company Somass, which expertly restored dilapidated wooden Zaanse houses. It still keeps up with the times. There are many nice corners where you can meet alone, together or with a group. A glass of water costs money here. The proceeds go to the hospice, a charity that many customers like to contribute to. 't Skip is located in front of the beautiful building. You can sit outside there when the weather is nice. This is so surprising that it is often photographed.

Had a wonderful full English breakfast here… the food was delicious, atmosphere great and most importantly the service provided here was the best we have experience so far among the other restaurants/cafe we have visited in Holland! The attentiveness of the service provided was something we appreciated and a clear standout from the rest 🙂
