As is often the case, we left a few things. Everything was fine, except for one employee who was rude, didn't want to speak German, and seemed very arrogant and standoffish. In Renesse, they are always very friendly, even when they're very busy. We were there on September 5th, 2026 at 4:41 pm. The other employee could/wanted to speak German and was very friendly.

Delicious kibbeling and frikandels. We didn't try anything else. Even in the off-season, you should expect relatively long wait times. They're understaffed! But the taste makes it worth the wait. You have to like the atmosphere. It's right next to a road!

Unfriendly service but delicious food

The last two times I've been there, it was a really nasty experience. Staff who don't like each other and interfere way too much. The food really wasn't good; the fries were dry, the cheese soufflé was the same story, and the spring roll wasn't tasty either. A bag that had fallen on the floor was used to put food in. Girls with nails that were way too long and not using gloves. Arrogant towards customers, especially the women. No, you won't see me here again.

August 20. Received particularly unfriendly service from a young lady. The food was fine.

Highly recommended! Delicious food and excellent service. The portions are generous, and there's shaded seating outside. Beautiful beach nearby, and parking is free.

Worthless place! Unfriendly, not hospitable, and even snapping at each other and the guests to the max. I have no idea if the food is good because we were there before 8 pm and didn't get anything left...... sad! And a shame too. In response to your comment: There was a chair with a sign around it at the entrance saying it was closed, just a few minutes before 8 pm, and the (older lady) behind the counter made it clear to us that no one was being served anymore. The last ones were the two gentlemen and after that it was over! There was still a line and we asked if we could please still order because we had walked quite a distance and had a large order, but the answer was NO. That shocked me and I was naturally disappointed for the rest of the children and people I had promised to bring back food to, hence the situation. It is nice that you stand for hospitality because that is what I stand for too, and it might be useful to tackle this together so that you are working towards the same goal as a team :) Good luck with the business!

Long wait…. Over 30 minutes. So very busy. Staff were arguing with each other… but finally got food. Note that you pay 0.50 to pay by card (free over 25 euros?)

We had ordered a kibbeling menu. And the kibbeling was undercooked and completely red inside. My wife took it back and was told that it was cooked, so we threw it away because we don't want to get sick. Regards, Frans

Excellent kibbeling, friendly service who are used to handling many guest orders.

We were here on a Friday evening during the summer holidays and it was very busy with a long queue. So you should bring some patience. The food selection is large, including burgers and soft-serve ice cream. Parking is easy and there's a small slide for children.

Great food, only the fries were sometimes hard and we got the wrong order... but it was resolved... otherwise it was very busy..

Arrival in Renesse - 1. What we've been doing for years is going out for a Frikandel special with fries - it's simply a must, and in over 20 years in the Netherlands, I haven't found a better one in terms of taste.

Hello, we're back in Scharendijke again in July 2026 and had some delicious kibbeling here. The fish was great, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. But these ones in Scharendijke are much tastier. They're perfectly seasoned. And the portion for €6.50 is much bigger than in Nijmegen. The garlic sauce is also incredibly delicious. The best snack bar in the area. Everything is freshly prepared, and we've never been disappointed with the taste. We've been coming here for three years now. The owners are very friendly, and dogs are welcome. The food from the food truck at Brouwersdam is also delicious. Best kibbeling at Brouwersdam!

A lot of fries with the menu, but personally I didn't find them very tasty; I thought it was a waste of money. The kibbeling was delicious, but I didn't like the sauce. Plenty of seating. Very friendly staff.

This is our third year in a row here in Scharendijk. We love getting food from here after a long day at the beach, or even just stopping by for a soft-serve ice cream. We highly recommend this place to anyone driving in the area. Excellent value for money. We're always delighted!

The best kibbeling far and wide

Super neat and clean, very friendly people. We only had an ice cream, but everything looked so well-cared for that next time we are definitely going to eat fries and a snack there.

What a good snack bar, however, today there was an abundance of stress. The owner remained very calm and well-organized, but one of the back-wall employees was so stressed and incompetent that he put everyone in a stressful situation. The tall employee remained calm and the young man also worked very well; both listened well to the owner. However, the small man with glasses and a cap drove everyone crazy due to his incompetence and lashed out at the owner. If he gets fired, everything will work more calmly and in an organized manner, and the employees will enjoy their work again. This young man is unskilled and more of a hindrance than an assistant. Once again, lashing out at your boss like that in front of guests; I would have personally fired him on the spot. I hope for you that things go back to how they used to be; the quality was also a lot lower than normal due to the stress. But yes, it is understandable when there is such an incompetent stress-prone person in the group.

When we go out riding the horses at Burgh-Haamstede, we always stop by 't Koepeltje. The food is delicious! Great value for money 👌. Fast service and friendly staff. We will definitely keep 't Koepeltje on our monthly ride.

Updated without comment, will not be eating here again. Very tasty and inexpensive food. Finally, not burnt kibbeling! It has become our favorite "restaurant." The other dishes were also very tasty.

The prices, especially for the set menus, have increased considerably. It's still just a snack bar, after all.

A really delicious chip shop; the fries are homemade and taste really good, you can eat everything there very well.

No trip to the Netherlands is complete without trying fries. This fry shop is well-equipped, clean, and offers good value for money. You can sit inside or outside. They serve everything you could possibly want to fry.

When we vacation in the Netherlands, our first meal is typically Dutch snacks: fries, croquettes, frikandel, and kipplings. Not healthy, but delicious 😋 't Koepeltje was on the way to Center Parc Port Zelande, and everyone in the family loved it. The soft serve ice cream is also highly recommended.

What we ate was very tasty. The kibbeling had a very thin coating, which we liked. Not at all greasy. The fish was cod. The fries were really crispy on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside.

A must-visit once every vacation. Friendly service, even in the fall it's busy, without compromising on quality.

A diner-style snack bar. There's a counter facing the window where you can sit. The staff are very friendly; one woman speaks German and was able to explain to us what goes into the burgers. The food was incredibly delicious!

In total it's good, but don't buy the Chilli Cheese Fries for 10 €. It's a scam. Double price for minimal sauce. Go for special fries 4 € 👍

Honestly, this is a completely normal snack bar with average quality and slightly higher prices. Vacation spot, yep.

We've been eating there for at least 10 years now. The food has always been delicious. Due to the popularity of the snack bar, it's usually full, and the staff is understandably stressed. So don't be mad if you don't always get a smile. 😀

Typical Dutch fried dishes, super clean, very tasty, and generous portions. The price is perfectly reasonable. Large fries, special fries, special frikandell, and a soft drink are €13. A real bargain considering the current prices at our neighbors. You sit right behind the dunes. Unfortunately, there's a bit of a commotion because beachgoers park right next to the outdoor lights. Only 4 stars for service because you have to pick up your food yourself. But all in all, really good.

We've been going there for 25 years; it's simply delicious. I can also recommend the ice cream; they have a great selection, especially for kids.

There is still room for improvement

In my opinion, the value for money is no longer there, and we've been going there for over two decades. It's become far too expensive. For that price, you could stay in a hotel and at least get breakfast...

I just drove 20km to eat here with friends, and what can I say? Everything's as usual: the best fries in all of Zeeland, super friendly service, and cozy outdoor seating... I love you!

Nice place. Quick coffee and croquette sandwich. I think paying separately for a bag of mustard is special. Coffee not tasty. Croquette sandwich is fine. No entrance to the dike, you have to take a detour. Dixies outside as a toilet.

So, we visited the restaurant based on the reviews and were absolutely disappointed. Bad fries, 2 choices only small break! Meatball special (cold) and a very strange bad taste that cannot be described. The slightly older employee behind the cash register was the unfriendly person in person... for us it was just a pure rip-off... It's a shame, it's a real shame

Beautiful view and it is not unimportant that the food also tasted great. Fries were nice and crispy and the kibbeling was deliciously seasoned. And very good portions. Really tasty 👍🏻
