Friendly and quick help. Delicious pancakes, we are from the older generation, so the pancakes were too full for us. But they tasted great.

You have less space than on the old boat. The food is really good.

The pancakes are still very tasty. You just can't really enjoy it. Unfortunately, the space at the tables has not improved since the move to the Oosterkade. You are squeezed together with 6 large people on a few benches that are much too small. You still cannot make a reservation with fewer than 7 people. Shame.

Exactly what you would expect from a pancake restaurant. We arrived just after 6 p.m., so we had to wait a bit long for the pancakes. Great card.

Very tasty pancakes in many flavors. Highly recommended! The service was also very friendly. Despite the high number of visitors, the order for four people came after about 15 minutes. Only the air conditioning made the guest room a little too cool for my taste. Depending on the topping of the pancakes, the prices are moderately cheap at 12 to 17 EUR.

This pancake place is a hidden gem! The food is absolutely delicious, especially the Greenland and Canadian pancakes. Portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is amazing – it's a pirate-themed restaurant on a ship! So much fun and definitely worth a visit. I can't believe it doesn't have a 5-star rating. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

After a recent visit to Het Pannekoekenschip in Groningen, I can say with great disappointment that my experience was anything but satisfactory. Where shall I begin? The ragu I ordered was icy cold, as if it came straight from the freezer. The lack of a simple cookie with my cappuccino was downright inexcusable - how can a pancake house forget such a basic treat? As if that wasn't enough, I was shocked to find that despite my pre-paid order, there was no amaretto available. The lack of communication and organization in this establishment is truly staggering. The service was downright chaotic; it seemed like the staff had no idea what was going on. And let's talk about that syrup - although delicious in taste, the clumsy spoon provided was an utter disaster. The syrup ended up everywhere but on my pancake, resulting in more sticky fingers than I ever wished for. Plus, there seemed to be more syrup than pancakes on my plate! As if that wasn't enough, when I tried to wash my hands, I was sent to the washroom, where I was then quickly shooed away as if I were an intruder. The lack of decency and respect for the guests is truly distressing. Fortunately, after this disappointing experience, I was able to find solace elsewhere in a delicious ice cream at Toscania. It was the only bright spot in an otherwise disastrous meal. It is clear that Het Pannekoekenschip in Groningen urgently needs improvement in their service, organization and overall quality. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant to my fellow foodies.

Been twice now. The pancakes are very tasty and the price is exactly what you would expect. The service is very friendly and it is nicely decorated for children. The only downside is that I had to wait a long time for the food both times.

Too much salt, meat, and sauce. The pancake base itself was nothing to boast about. The few drinks on the menu were all overpriced. We all got dehydrated from the salt and had diarrhea afterwards.

Very friendly staff. We got a fresh drinking bowl with water for our dog. The order came quickly, the food was hot and very tasty. We'd love to come back. Since we were here for dinner in the afternoon, the ship was quite empty. It is significantly more crowded at peak times.

Went today and experienced something very strange, we always eat here (at least once a month) an apple pancake and a cheese pancake, now the apple pancake suddenly comes with cinnamon and icing sugar. When we eat here, this has never been served with cinnamon and icing sugar, we explain this and the lady takes the pancake with her and apologizes and tells us that a correct pancake will arrive as soon as possible. Then the manager or something comes back with the same pancake and says that this is what we ordered, we repeat that we often eat here and have never received the pancake in this way. The best lady gets angry and just says, well, I've been working here for a long time and I always serve it this way, so this is what you ordered and you just have to pay for it. We can make another one but that has to be paid for too. In the end I just had to finish the pancake completely even though not a bite was eaten. I was astonished by the stiff attitude of this lady and I believe that this is not the way to speak to customers and charge them in full without showing understanding. After years of eating there, we will certainly never go to this place again, which in my opinion is a sinking ship with this unfriendly staff.

This is a spot for the themed enthusiast. It gives pirates of Caribbean vibes. But the service was excellent and made everyone in our party feel that we belong. Now the food was good The selection of pancake dishes was amazing as there was a choice for every single person in our party. As the food came out, the presentation was amazing. The dishes look simple as the pancake fills the whole plate. The food I expressed in the star rating was a four out of five. The food was good. Was presented nicely but, just I've had better.

We had a hearty pancake with salmon and poffertjes (which, unfortunately, are not available anywhere else in Groningen). Everything is freshly made and super tasty, there is even a German menu and the ship is great for children to play on! As adults, we enjoyed the view of the water and watching other boats!

It may have taken a while before it was our turn, but on the other hand that makes sense since the entire ship was full of people and we were the last to arrive. The food was good, not just good. It was enough for 2 people to eat one meal. Or I ordered too much, that is also a possibility. The atmosphere is good, cozy with a candle on the table.

Unfortunately the ship is not designed for sturdy people, the tables and chairs are stuck to the ground and of course when you sail, it is only logical that I felt discriminated against.

How expensive it has become, especially the drinks!

The new boat is a lot lighter and looks more spacious. Service is young but very polite and smooth. Wooden benches were clean. Pancakes as usual just great. :) Within an hour we were outside again with our bellies full. Children had no time to be bored.

Everything was okay except a very bad smell like the smell of something rotting or dead comes out of the kitchen once the door is open as our table is just opposite the door, i shared that with the service workers, but looks no one cares or try to investigate thr matter.

We wanted to eat something typically Dutch and pancakes came to mind. The ship is really great, the service is very friendly and the food tastes amazing. Unfortunately it is quite loud, you should be aware of that. But still highly recommended!

A pancake ship as it should be. Excellent pancake, cozy atmosphere. But as a rule very busy. Please note, you cannot make a reservation, only from 7 people. So on busy days, after 7:00 PM, you will have to wait a while. Turnaround speed is high, so luckily it doesn't take long. Update. Waiting over an hour for a pancake?!?! 4 tables arrived later as we were already eating (or already ready). After asking once we got our food (cold!!!). Everything was dirty and sticky from the syrup! Toilets not clean. Never again for us!

Our first visit after the move was a disappointment. After 20 minutes still no drink or menu. Then we left again.

Disgusting staff!!! We had our little man with us who is 1.5 years old, I saw a few balloons that you apparently got when you left, which I didn't know. I thought, hey, this is how I keep the little one sweet until we can eat. I was so badly criticized by the cook, they only get this when I leave, with an angry face. Not child friendly, we won't eat here anymore. Hygiene is poor, tables are sticky, high chair still contained food remains from I don't know when. And that for 17.50 per pancake. Annemarie pancake!!

Reasonable food, good service, but what a mess in the toilet. Stink of piss and they had only been open for an hour. Shame.

The pancakes are average in taste, the prices are a bit expensive. The atmosphere is nice, it is very enjoyable to eat something on the wooden tables inside the ship! Worth to try. (Please cover the sugar and syrup on the table, it is not hygienic at all.)

Around a week ago I went here again. It's always a satisfying experience and I'd recommend taking everyone here who is from out of town (especially visitors from abroad). They always have a great time and it's an older cosy ship with a great variety of Dutch pancakes. Be aware that they can be very heavy on the stomach, particularly dependent on the topping you use. But don't forget to topp your pancake off with the syrup. Yumm! Tipp: If you want a smaller size pancake than the regular, just ask for it. I did that the last time as I wasn't that hungry and i didn't want to waste any pancake. In my case, it cost around 1.5€ less than the regular pancake I chose. But if you're really hungry then eating the regular pancake is perhaps what you need ;)

The atmosphere is good, it is an unusual place to visit. However the staff did not seem to be able to answer simple questions about the food and the ingredients. The toilets were also smelly. They also did not seem to be well maintained or.

Pfannkuchen sind lecker, aber nichts besonderes. Service war eher unaufmerksam und die Radiomusik hat das Ambiente des schönen Schiffes ziemlich h kaputt gemacht. Viel zu teuer für das was es war. 16€ für einen Pfannkuchen…

Really disappointed in our experience here. We asked for water and were charged more than €6 for two small bottles of still water. Okay, whatever, my bad for not specifying tap water, but a warning from the waitress that the water wasn’t free would have been polite. We then ate the huge, expensive, mediocre pancakes in the (very cool & interesting) boat, but had to try for 15 minutes to flag down the waitress. Finally, we got her attention, but to add insult to injury when we asked for our food to be packed up together we were charged €.25 for a little paper bag to put our pancakes inside! At least we were warned about the charge for the bag. It dissolved on the way home. I’ve been gouged at touristy restaurants in the past, but never so blatantly and unapologetically. I do not recommend this restaurant and would certainly never come back.

bin schon vor 25 jahren hier gewesen und auch heute wieder beeindruckt von ambiente und den fantasievollen pfannkuchengerichten. schmackhaft aber für unsere heutigen essgewohnheiten recht fettig. guter freundlicher service, menuekarte auch in deutsch oder englisch möglich

lekkere pannekoeken. ouderwetse lepels voor suiker en stroop. stoelen zijn een beetje oncomfortabel. middelste rij tafels heeft maar genoeg plek voor 2 mensen dus het hangt er vanaf of je overige plekken kan bemachtigen

Sehr nette location. Service sehr jung, aber super freundlich und schnell. Die Pfannkuchen, wir waren zu viert, alle lecker und für 16,50 € groß und mächtig genug um leicht satt zu werden. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

De pannenkoeken waren heerlijk, de surprises voor de kinderen waren ook echt leuk. De bediening liet echt te wensen over. Lang wachten, (meer dan een kwartier) voordat er überhaupt iemand langs kwam; als je met kleine kinderen bent is dat ronduit vervelend. Onaardig ook, er kon zelfs geen glimlachje af, het leek alsof de bediening met grote tegenzin werd gedaan. Ik geef altijd graag een fooi maar die bleef nu in mijn portemonnee

My son suggested we visit to the Pancake Ship for lunch on Saturday. The last time I had a pancake on the pancake ship in Groningen was about 42 years ago! I remembered enjoying it then, and although it is unlikely to be the same boat/ship/staff, I was excited to be returning. It was a particularly hot day, and there were very few diners in the ship. We were greeted with a warm welcome and seated straight away. Between us we ordered a variety of both sweet and savoury pancakes and my son also ordered some chips. Everything was delicious, we really enjoyed it all. I had a banana pancake with icing sugar, although as there was brown sugar and syrup on the table I could have just had bananas. I also had ice cream with it and ir was delicious. Drinks were reasonably priced and the service was good too. Shame they could not take a credit card. I do not know why this was? Thankfully I had my debit card with me so that was accepted. One thing worth mentioning was that my son realised later that day, that he had left his ruck sack behind, which had an Apple Mac in it. The staff found it and kept it safe for him so we could return for it. Thank you!

Het bestek is bot en ook echt BOT 😳 Bestel een grote cola (€6) hier na een normale (€3) cola giet de inhoud van de normale in het “grote glas” en het is precies het zelfde inhoud (dus groot is niet groot maar normaal) maar je betaalt er wel €3 meer voor De sfeer van de bediening was hier na om te schieten BAH 🤢 Ik spreek de bediening hier op aan , en laat ik het zo zeggen wat een aanfluiting uiteindelijk heb ik behoorlijk moeten discussiëren om de zo genoemde “grote cola” als een “normale” op de rekening te krijgen De sfeer van de bediening was hier na om te schieten BAH 🤢 Het linker glas op de foto is de “normale” glas De rechter glas is de “grote” De algemene ervaring was slecht en duur En ja de bediening rodelen over de klanten Hou niet van trucjes / oplichting

We hebben heerlijk genoten van een pannekoek op t schip. De bediening was ontzettend snel, na het bestellen hadden we binnen 10 min het eten op tafel. Onze vraag of we ergens anders konden zitten werd direct opgepakt. Lieve bediening, heerlijk eten. Kortom: een aanrader!
