Nice and cozy, but the service is so slow... It took way too long before we got our first beer. And not because there wasn't enough staff.

Very cozy (beer) cafe, pleasant atmosphere and delicious food

Great food and drinks. Lots of specialty beers. Delicious desserts. Friendly staff. Unfortunately, I don't have any tasty ice cream on the menu anymore. And the "orphans" were much better years ago. And many of the staff are blinders on. And more and more of the waiters can't speak Dutch.

Really my favorite place on Saturday afternoon. Delicious specialty beers, but also good coffee. This time the de Maere was very well prepared. Really red, as tenderloin should be. We did expressly indicate this when ordering, because it doesn't always go well. The atmosphere is always good here. Very friendly service. Beautiful covered terrace. Yes, we really like coming here.

Here it is apparently not possible for a man to use the sanitary facilities in peace as the men's toilets are full of ladies who are standing almost next to you. Quite uncomfortable. Perhaps an idea to expand the number of ladies' toilets? If I spend more than 60 euros, I can expect to be able to use a toilet in a normal way, I think.

Nice place to spend an evening out with friends and colleagues. Very nice beer list.

Good beer, good service and cozy atmosphere.

Cozy pub with many specialty beers, although they did not have everything on the menu or plate. The prices are gradually becoming ridiculous, almost €10 for 33cl of specialty beer.

One of my favorite beer pubs. I like to drink a craft beer. Unfortunately, the choice has lately been somewhat limited to the large breweries, I prefer the local smaller/new beers.

Had a nice meal with the three of us

Bokbeer afternoon was once on Sunday and never again. Terribly poorly organised. You first stand in line for 40 minutes for the coins. Then half an hour to get beer. Then you have to go to the toilet, you can wait another half hour because there is only 1 unit. Who came up with this? Far too many people in a few square meters, while the music inside causes hearing damage and virtually nothing can be heard outside. Very special. See you never. Unfortunately I have to give 1 star, even that is not worth it.

Decent food, good atmosphere and service. The steak that I had was a bit too fatty and could be hotter and better seasoned.

Though courteous, service was slow. As if they dont want to serve, less to charge.

We sat in Rootie's room on Saturday with a group. The music was so ridiculously loud that you couldn't hear each other. To our question, and also from others, it was said that this was not allowed by the boss (who was not present). This is a great pity, we have been back together as a group for a long time, the indifference of t Pleintje ruined our evening.

Music was way too loud, I couldn't even hear the bill. Nothing was done about this. Shame!! I won't be coming back here again.

Good value for money and pleasant service. However, the waiter smelled strongly of sweat and that is very unappetizing when you are eating out. An annoyingly bright screen above the table in the conservatory detracts significantly from the atmosphere. For my table lady, the sweaty smell is a no-no for next time.

I really had to wait 3 hours for our order then it was cold and it smelled like they cooked in the sewer really bad👎👎👎

Edit: pleintje has contacted personally and offered appropriate compensation. Reserved table for 5 at the square, there was barely room for 4. We were put at rootie, where the music was way too loud. It's like having a drink in a disco at 10 o'clock at night. Moreover, you sit at the back of the store where the staff simply does not come, even though it was quite full. Normally not used to the square that the experience is so bad. Normally we drink and eat more, but because we were not helped, that also lagged behind. Bullying volume of music and hardly any service put a quick end to our evening.

It was a very nice place to spend an evening

I like how very relaxed and cozy the place is. This cafe is always our first choice when we go to Hengelo. Lovely set of music, Friendly servers and tasty food too! The pasta with salmon and prawns is my top favourite.

Orders took a long time to arrive. Food was tasty! Clearing the table every now and then when you bring something would be efficient (tip)

Meestal erg druk maar voldoende bediening. Heerlijke nachos en een ruime bierkeuze.

Sehr schönes Lokal mitten in der Innenstadt

The service is one of the slowest I’ve ever experienced. The nachos were terrible… cold cheese above them and cold, “guacamole” with whole pieces of avocado and not a tomato in sight (I suggest to read the recipe before calling a smash avocado guacamole!), not good for the price. Three stars only because the little “balls” were good and the location is cute.

Goede bier kaart en lekker gegeten

Am ales acest restaurant la întâmplare dar pot sa zic ca arată forte bine și ca personalul foarte pregătit. Spun acest lucru pentru ca ne-am ridicat din alt restaurant anterior care nu putea oferi mancare încă. Mancarea foarte buna pentru toate gusturile. După acesta masa am avut si câteva jocuri de jucat cu fiul meu cel mare pana cealaltă parte a familiei a fost gata cu masa.

Schönes kleines Restaurant mit gemütlichen Wintergarten

Enttäuschend, wir waren Abends essen in Verbindung mit der Fußball WM . Viele Gäste verfolgten das Spiel mit Freude und plötzlich wurde einfach umgeschalten auf Nachfrage einfach nach 50 Minuten ungeschalten wurde nur die plumpe Aussage getroffen im Innenbereich ist ein Tisch mit Gästen die ein anderes Spiel sehen wollen. Auf diese Antwort und mit Verwunderung warum die Bedienung auf einmal kein Englische mehr sprach wurde umgehend gezahlt desweiteren verliesen die anderen Gäste auch das Restaurant. Fakt ist wenn das Spiel ausgestrahlt wird sollte es bis zum Ende auch bleiben . Sorry aber das ist untere Schublade Essen war gut hätte ich aber gewusst das einfach umgeschalten wird wäre kein Nachtisch mehr bestellt worden Wir hatten noch einen schönen Abend im Hotel und konnten dort das Spiel zu Ende schauen

Leuk bruin cafe met goeie eet mogelijkheden. Aardig personeel, heeft ook begrip voor alcohol-vrije wensen. Maar ook bijzondere biertjes voor de liefhebbers. Goed voor vrijdagmiddag-borrel. Ff simpel drankje met zn alle doen? Dan is t pleintje een Aanrader!

Even gezellig een kopje koffie gedronken. Vriendelijk bediening en lekkere koffie.

Door toeval kwamen we erachter dat de prijzen op de rekening hoger zijn dan vermeld op de kaart. De medewerker wees op een (super)klein stickertje met QR-code op (slechts 1 kant van) de bierkaart die je maar moest scannen voor de actuele prijzen. De medewerker die onze klacht in behandeling nam had duidelijk een mediatraining gehad en weigerde enige blijk van begrip.

Het is een gezellige plek, maar wat we wel tegenvalt is de bierkaart. Veel cafés hebben inmiddels meer verschillende soorten op de kaart staan dan het Pleintje. Ook zijn er vaak ineens bieren uit het assortiment terwijl je ze nog wel kan bestellen via de kaart of QR code.

Hier sitzt man am Platz...drinnen fast wie draußen!! Personal super freundlich und auf Zack!! Preis Lieferungs Verhältnis sehr gut!! Zu empfehlen!!

Het echte bistro gevoel. Heel Smakelijk eten en ziet er ook zo uit. Goed verzorgd en netjes op het bord geserveerd

Gezellig café, leuke aankleding, lekkere cheeseburger, maar poh.... wat is het ondoenlijk warm binnen als het buiten wat warmer is. Niet normaal! Ben tijdens de pubquiz zeker 5 keer even naar het toilet gelopen om wat koud water in mn gezicht te gooien.

Super aardig personeel. Mijn broodje met ham, champignons en kaas viel een klein beetje tegen. Broodje kippenlever van mijn partner was top. Je kan er lekker zitten. Zeker als je van speciaalbier houdt

We came here later in the evening and very hungry. At first my friend was disappointed because they said they only served “snacks” and we were hoping for dinner. Turns out the snacks here are massive so we over ordered. Everything tasted fantastic, the service was great. We did our best and didn’t manage to eat everything.
