Generous portion, but lukewarm and the meat slightly burnt. Very busy. Attentive service. Restrooms are very small and chaotic due to the passageway to the kitchen. But the terrace is in a beautiful location. Except for the review: the Vismarkt was a gathering place for all kinds of motorized traffic today. The noise made conversation difficult. Lots of exhaust fumes. The municipality should address this as soon as possible.

We had a trio of fish, which to our surprise was a winner. If it continues like this, we will definitely return. A small comment: a larger piece of bread would have been nice, as it is delicious with the herb butter.

The restaurant is beautifully situated and beautifully decorated, both inside and on the terrace. The location exudes a real atmosphere and invites you to sit down. Unfortunately, that's where our positive experience largely ends. The staff is sloppy, and taking orders takes a very long time. Furthermore, the prices are on the high side. My 10-year-old son chose the €11 children's pizza. We expected a slightly smaller, child-friendly pizza (for example, in the shape of a rabbit), but received a mini pizza of about 8 cm in diameter, which he finished in six bites. For this price, we found this truly disappointing. The regular pizza costs €19, but here too, the portions are on the small side. The food itself was unfortunately disappointing, and the menu is very limited: only two desserts, four unfamiliar pizzas, and four main courses. To make matters worse, the children's pizza was served far too early—along with the bread board—while the other dishes arrived 45 minutes later. Beautiful place, but unfortunately not good value for money at all. We won't be back anytime soon.

Lovely terrace and delicious beer and white wine. The meatballs (bitterballen) were delicious. We've never had to pay 50 cents for a small glass of tap water. Such a shame!

We were sitting outside on the pleasant terrace, until our baby was startled awake by a parade of passing motorcycles. Because he was quite upset, they put the food in a container for us to take away. Great service, and ultimately, a delicious meal!

The owners of this lovely restaurant are incredibly friendly. They'll make sure your afternoon is perfect. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. A top location in beautiful Heusden!

Ordered a fish salad and burger on the terrace in nice weather. The salad was nicely prepared and well filled. The burger was also tasty (light pink on the inside is basically not possible with minced meat) with a delicious special beer.

Rude service personnel! Really fraustrated with the behavior and approach! This is not a place for foreigners at all! Did not expect this low attitude from Dutch!

Ordered a fish trio but it cannot be called a trio. There was a bit of salmon and tuna in it, yes, but they forgot or out of stock NR 3 fried shrimp??? I said something about it but it doesn't seem to bother them. Quite pricey too! Oh well, not a second time!!!! And laughing is also allowed on a beautiful sunny day.

Het weer werkte mee, de terrassen zaten vol en de sfeer leek veelbelovend. Toch viel er op het gebied van gastvrijheid het nodige op. Veel tafels waren al vroeg op de dag voorzien van “gereserveerd”-bordjes. Begrijpelijk voor het avondpubliek, maar voor dagjesmensen die graag spontaan willen neerstrijken voor een drankje, een gemiste kans. Zeker op drukke dagen kan hier winst worden behaald – zowel qua service als omzet. De drankjes kwamen wat karig over: het was onduidelijk of je voor een 20cl of 30cl glas bier bestelde de prijs deed blijken voor de 30 cl variant , en ook de wijn werd voorzichtig geschonken. De borrelhapjes daarentegen waren goed verzorgd. Qua bediening oogde het rommelig: er was geen duidelijke aansturing, de serveersters liepen wat doelloos rond en discussieerden zichtbaar met elkaar in het bijzijn van gasten. Klanten moesten actief zwaaien om aandacht te krijgen, en de wachttijd liep op. Er leek geen leidinggevende aanwezig te zijn om structuur aan te brengen – iets wat op zo’n topdag echt verschil kan maken. Op de gevel hing een bord met de waarschuwing dat het “wel even kan duren”. Eerlijk? Ja. Gastvrij? Niet bepaald. Met drie goed ingespeelde serveersters en een afwasser in de keuken zou dit terras juist kunnen excelleren in snelheid én beleving. Kortom: locatie top, potentie groot, maar de uitvoering verdient meer aandacht. Een gastvrij terras is méér dan een mooi uitzicht – het begint bij structuur, aansturing en echte aandacht voor de bezoeker. Hopelijk pakt het team deze signalen op, want de basis is er absoluut. Wanted to eat something, the girl wanted to take me to the table, but the lady took over and said "unfortunately we no longer have room for you." It was busy but there were free tables. Very unfortunate.

I drove by with my family members, we ordered food and got it quite quickly. When I went inside to ask if they had alcohol, the manager of the pub started getting angry and, knowing that I didn't fully understand the language, started insulting us and turned his back and commented loudly. I was very disappointed because the waiters were very nice, I wanted to leave them a tip, but the boss's behavior encouraged me to leave the pub.

Tasty food for a reasonable price

Heerlijk terras midden in de bedrijvigheid. Vlotte bediening, heerlijk eten en diverse biertjes van de tap. De kaart is maar klein maar er staat voor ieder wat wils op.

We ordered lunch with a nice drink. There was a dead fly in the filling of my wife's sandwich. Reported this to the owner, but he didn't really care. She did not eat this piece of bread again. This can happen, but a nicer response from the owner would have been appropriate.

Had a nice lunch at the Heusden coat of arms. Delicious tomato soup and delicious croquettes on delicious bread! And a lemon in a Coke always makes me happy. (normally a rarity in Germany in the Netherlands) super👍🏻

Sunny evening, friendly service. Starter Tortelloni Ricotta e Spinaci with, according to us, tomato puree as sauce, little taste. Unfortunately a long hair in the main course and a salad without dressing. Dressing requested, dirty bowl. This is stated twice together, simply pay the bill in full. No more 2nd time.

We hadden een plaatsje binnen gereserveerd, maar ze waren ook zo attent om buiten een plaats te reserveren. Hierdoor hebben we lekker buiten geluncht. Bediening netjes en vriendelijk. Leuke uitgebreide lunchkaart. Prijs/ kwaliteit prima.

Great place to relax and have something tasty to eat and drink. View of the square. Service ; helped by 3 different people (staff), which apparently made it difficult to prepare the bill. Tip ; have one person do the same table, that keeps things organized. 4 stars because it is otherwise a fine establishment

Nice place located on the Vismarkt. Close to the harbour. Friendly service and delicious food. For meat lovers, the Bolwerkhamburger with fries is highly recommended! You can park on the square in front of the business. However, only 1 hour.

It's just not all that. And the drink price is exorbitant

The shrimp in filo pastry were out of the ordinary, unlike the shrimp in a pastry pillow, too few shrimp, too much dough! The ham was very tasty and juicy. The chef's dessert is highly recommended.

We were passing through here and had a delicious and good dinner. The pizza was homemade, had a wonderful thin dough as it should be, and the schnitzel was tasty and tender. The service girls are always very attentive and make sure everything is OK. All in all it was really great

Shrimp croquette. Very poor quality. Bound fish stock in a crispy jacket. Cut open the second croquette and still found 2 shrimps. Shame. It's also a shame that the otherwise excellent service, after reporting it to the kitchen, does nothing further with it. Or may do. Perhaps mass tourism means a new audience every day, so who cares?? I got that feeling... Shame.

heel jammer. De producten die ze hebben allemaal prima, maar de bediening is en blijft vreselijk, en na regelmatig bezoek, moet ik constateren dat er ook geen enkele progressie in zit. De meiden kijken rond maar helaas, ze zien niks. Lange wachttijd voordat je geholpen wordt wordt, gezien dat klanten het terras maar weer verlaten. Niet erg want het personeel valt het niet eens op. Tafels waar mensen geluncht hebben blijven lang vol staan, zelfs als er al is afgerekend en nieuwe gasten zitten. Misschien kleine opvoed tip, : “ niet terug naar binnen met lege handen” met als bijkomend voordeel dat je ook echt leert kijken. Wees ook eens wat gastvrijer, ook al kom je hier iedere week, je krijgt altijd het gevoel dat je er voor het eerst bent, niet goed. (Ben overigens benieuwd wat hier de reactie weer op zal zijn: mooi weer, heel erg druk of we waren even bezig u had geen geduld, lees de reacties maar op de slecht TripAdvisor en google reviews. Het ligt overal aan , maar niet aan de werknemers)

Nice location on the market from where you can enjoy people watching. It is located in two beautiful old buildings and looks beautiful inside with a beautiful terrace in front. The owners work hard and are very pleasant. Delicious food, everything fresh. I've had lunch here a few times now and can't find anything negative at all.

After a walk in Heusden, we had a coffee and cake in this busy lunchroom. It is a bit dated. It has a brown cafe appearance. The tables are a bit close together, so you have to make some effort not to have to follow the neighbor's conversation. The espresso was not good, little crema and not that tasty. The apple pie and red velvet pastry was delicious.

Onaardige eigenaar, zeer lomp tegen gasten

Een goede keuken, afgaande van de salade met zalm. Alleen jammer dat door een onderbezetting van de bediening er geen tijd voor de klant was. Waarschijnlijk waren daarom ook een aantal tafels 'gereserveerd' waardoor het personeel het allemaal net redde.

Todas las veces que fuimos, que fueran varias, tanto la comida como la bebida fueron buenas PERO este lugar tiene un problema similar al de muchos lugares en Paises Bajos que es la pobre calidad de la atención al cliente. Las mozas ni te miran y nunca están atentas. Servicio extremadamente lento!

Heerlijk eten en een goede service, maar de porties waren wat mager. Na een uurtje wachten kregen we de fish and chips (18 eur)… Hierna nog langs de Mac Donalds gegaan om het maagje aan te vullen. :)
