The food is just okay. Mediocre quality and often served lukewarm. Not my thing.

Very cozy and tasty restaurant. So many delicious dishes on the menu that choosing is hard!! The service was super friendly, every single one of us! We were really waited on hand and foot! All orders were quickly delivered to our table. The place is really packed! Even the wait staff could barely pass by. We were lucky that the ladies at the table next to us would rather sit outside than be squeezed in, because the place was truly overflowing!! Next to us was a table with 6 chairs on one side and 8 (eight!!!!) people on the bench on the other side. It really felt a bit like being packed in a can with sardines. And you can certainly hear that from the buzz of such a full room. But still, if you can handle a bit of a crowd, highly recommended!!!!

Beautifully decorated restaurant. The service was polite and you didn't have to wait long for the dishes. However, it was very hot inside. It was a day when it was 22 degrees outside. It is actually unbearable inside when it is hot summer weather!

The food was okay; we were with a large group (17 people), so it was a bit chaotic. It was super hot inside though, although it was around 34 degrees outside, and it felt like it was inside too. But anyway, otherwise it wasn't unpleasant.

The food was tasty, though not everything on the menu was entirely to our liking and some things could have been a bit warmer. Something went wrong with our order (swapped with another table) but they resolved this well. Overall, we had a good and pleasant evening for a good price.

What slow service. We were there at 6:00 PM and I just passed on dessert because there was too much time between courses every time, even though we had the menus ready well in advance.

Super friendly staff and nice ambiance. Food was good but sometimes a bit dry or simple. Toilets were not really clean. The toilet rolls don't fit properly in the holders, making unrolling difficult.

Bizarrely bad service. You have to grab your own drinks and food; they are too lazy to even walk around to clear plates, you have to ask yourself. Everything was piled up on the table. We constantly had to ask if drinks were coming yet; it took half an hour before the tray was taken away for the next round. We had 4 rounds from 17:30 to 22:00. And the wait staff says, "Yes, we have 2 hands." I get that, but then you should accept fewer reservations if you don't have any staff. Ice cream is served on warm plates; how is this possible? No, never again for that price.

We went with a group of 8, the service was terrible, we had to get the food and drinks ourselves, waited a long time for drinks, had to ask twice and got the answer "I only have 2 legs", the manager should be deeply ashamed.

We opted for the Burgundian experience for 2 people. You pay just under €50 p.p., excluding drinks. For each round, you receive a slip of paper allowing you to choose 2 small dishes and 1 side dish per person. The food tasted good and the staff was friendly with quick service. We will definitely be back. It's a nice concept if you don't immediately know what you're in the mood for. There is no parking on site. You can park nearby in an above-ground car park (next to Albert Heijn), about a 5-minute walk away.

After being very sick and taking a long break, I ate at Zusje again. It was my greatest wish. The food was delicious... everything fresh and on time. Thanks to the lovely, attentive Belgian waiter... definitely worth repeating.

Very disappointing experience at ’t Zusje Breda. The concept is nice, but we didn't notice much of that because we had to wait about 40 minutes for the next dishes every time. As a result, the evening was mostly one long wait rather than a pleasant dining experience. When we pointed this out, the manager came by. His reaction was: “You’re getting a free drink, because I don’t want to read anything about this.” Remarkably, we never actually received that free drink. Apparently, it was more important to avoid a negative review than to actually offer a solution. Long wait times can happen, but be honest about it and keep your promises. An empty promise only makes the experience worse. For us, this was absolutely not a visit to repeat.

We had a nice meal, but the service was (except for our host!) terrible. We had to take the food ourselves, and we were interrupted in the middle of a conversation because we had to hand something over so she could clear it away. Mind you: it was a round table that the wait staff could easily walk around. These people clearly do not belong in the hospitality industry; they say practically nothing and have absolutely no sense of customer friendliness or service!

The atmosphere is fantastic, the service and food are very good; if we are in Breda again, we will definitely eat here again.

The food is good; however, as time goes by, they take longer to collect your orders. We were seated with 8 people in a separate section. The order was often incorrect. Sometimes we received items we hadn't ordered, and other dishes were not served.

We arrived early. The atmosphere was cozy and the decor was nice. Only 3 tables were occupied. I thought the food took a long time to arrive and some of the appetizers were cold. The soup was sent back... that is a real shame. In the end, we had 3 rounds and, in comparison, I found it way too expensive. I don't think I will go back. The staff were very friendly, though.

It's a shame the menu has been changed; everything I like to eat is no longer on it. The Bastogne parfais didn't taste like usual either. It was as if there wasn't enough speculaas in it. When all your favorite dishes suddenly disappear from the menu, it is quite a disappointment.

Nice place to go out for dinner if you want a quiet, long evening. I sat there with a friend from 18:30 to 22:15 and we really enjoyed ourselves with all kinds of tasty snacks.

We sat for 3 hours for 4 rounds, and then when paying the bill we were told that this is normal. And that the kitchen has 20 minutes after receiving our order to put the dishes on the table. But the receipts weren't collected; we had to ask for them ourselves, which meant there were still 45 minutes between our rounds. Tables around us had the same problem.

We enjoyed a wonderful Burgundian evening at ’t Zusje in Breda. The dishes were tasty and the concept makes for a cozy, relaxed evening. However, we did notice that the service was quite slow; we sometimes had to wait quite a long time for a new round. Since there were only two of us, this wasn't very bothersome, but it did mean we spent the entire evening on six rounds. We also found the wine somewhat disappointing in relation to the price, which was on par with restaurants offering better wine quality. Otherwise, we certainly had a lovely evening and the staff clearly did their best.

A disappointment. It was a beautiful day and it is nicely situated in the center of Breda. We were there just before 12 for lunch, but it felt like we weren't welcome. The service was very absent and we had to wait at least five minutes before we could finally pay. We received all our dishes at the same time. Couldn't they have waited a little longer with the ice cream and the warm brownie? Unfortunately, the dishes themselves were not particularly tasty and did not meet expectations. A shame, because we had quite a bit to celebrate...

't Zusje Breda has restored my faith in their concept, as I had several disappointing experiences at other branches. We had a delicious meal this time; the service was good, friendly, and fast. All in all, we had a fantastic evening.

The food was mostly good, only the gnocchi was like a brick and the short rib bone dry. I mentioned this to the wait staff and received an immediate apology.

We wanted to have a nice lunch here on the sunny terrace. It looked cozy, so expectations were high. Unfortunately, that's all. The service was downright terrible. Unfriendly, it took a very long time to order, and when the food finally arrived, it turned out that half of the order hadn't even been placed. The solution? A warning that it would probably take a very long time for the second course to arrive. So, the two of us ate the dish for one. We ordered the "power lunch": five very small appetizers that together wouldn't even be enough as a starter. The flavor of some of the dishes was fine, but that didn't make up for much. We ended up paying €45 for this half-lunch. It's remarkable how you can still leave hungry for that price. That's quite an achievement.

Beautiful location, friendly staff. The food is excellent for the price you pay, though they sometimes use rather fancy names, which makes it taste a little less special than you'd expect. It was busy and noisy, and the space we had was somewhat limited by a door that kept opening. Because we were in Breda this Friday, we called last minute to see if they had any space: they didn't, they were fully booked (and understandably so!). But on this beautiful day, the weather allowed us to sit outside under a parasol with a heater. And it was fantastic! A relaxed place, even though it was incredibly busy inside. And we found the staff very friendly! Outgoing young guests constantly came over to ask if we were enjoying ourselves and if we needed anything else. The service was quick too. And delicious, tasty food... definitely worth a visit!

Ate here with family, everything was delicious. Dishes arrived quickly, as did the drinks. The staff was friendly, and nothing was too much trouble, even in a packed restaurant. And all that for ONLY €42 per person. If I had a starter and main course elsewhere, it would easily cost €50 per person, but here you can eat as much as you like from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Highly recommended! Hats off 👌

What should have been a pleasant evening unfortunately turned into a dramatic experience at Het Zusje Breda. We had made a reservation a month in advance and, upon arrival, were given a spot on the corner of a backless sofa. Due to back issues, we asked several times if we could switch. Although it was listed as ‘full,’ the restaurant was not physically fully occupied, and tables could easily have been swapped. However, there was absolutely no willingness to cooperate, and not a single alternative was offered. The response was simply: “Too bad, I can’t do anything about it.” That felt anything but hospitable. Additionally, we had to wait an average of 45 minutes per round. Throughout the evening, several dishes ran out (including tuna carpaccio, borrek, hot dog, fries, cod, and nachos), causing the choice to become increasingly limited and even side dishes could no longer be ordered. We were barely asked if we wanted anything to drink; we had to actively approach staff ourselves. Tables around us were not cleared, and the toilets were dirty, without toilet paper. Upon departure, there was a line of guests standing with the manager to complain. When settling the bill, we were not asked how our evening was; we could simply pay by card and leave. We sat for 4.5 hours without being able to order the number of rounds you would expect from this concept. Several tables around us shared the same negative experience. For €42 per person, you really should expect better. Very disappointing. Update: one of us became ill shortly after the visit with symptoms consistent with food poisoning (severe nausea and vomiting).

Yesterday was the first time it wasn't good. One dish after another was gone. By 8:00 PM, six dishes were no longer available for ordering because they were sold out. Luckily, we were there early, but people who came after us weren't so happy. It's a shame. We come regularly and hope this was a one-off. When we asked why, the answer was "it's busy." Sorry, but I find this unacceptable.

The 3 stars go to the friendly staff who repeatedly had to tell them another dish was gone. It must have been a frustrating evening for them. The food wasn't great...completely incorrect purchasing, meaning several dishes couldn't be ordered, including the fries. What was served was often cold or tasteless. Such a shame, we were really looking forward to it. It feels a bit like we've been ripped off...

What a disgusting place. After reading the reviews, we thought we were in for a nice meal... but no. From the start, everything went wrong. We asked five different employees for new order forms, but no one ever returned with what was promised. Result: after 45 minutes, still nothing. The food itself was seriously subpar. The tenderloin? It was more like steak trying to be tenderloin: tough, hard, tasteless, the worst tenderloin I've ever eaten (if this is actually tenderloin). The service and organization are simply nonexistent. We asked for help five times, and five times we were ignored. I seriously don't understand the positive reviews. We'll never go back, absolutely not recommended.

The food is delicious! Only, we had to wait almost an hour for our food. The host kept walking right past us; we had to call someone over or they wouldn't come. And when we asked where our food was, they were at the table within five minutes. The food was also cold!

The food was delicious, but in such a place, you'd expect well-trained and friendly staff. They didn't really look at you, had to pass drinks themselves, didn't say "please" and just walked away. The restaurant and atmosphere were absolutely fantastic. I usually go to the Rotterdam branch, and for good reason, because Rotterdam is much better. The service in Breda is a nightmare. Our order was forgotten several times, so even ordering drinks was a struggle. The food took an incredibly long time. 60 minutes for two dishes, and that meant you're sitting at the table for almost four hours... We left in a huff and went elsewhere, and other guests complained furiously too!

We had a wonderful (Christmas) evening. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful. There were so many delicious dishes on the menu that it was a bit hard to choose from all the delicious options. The service was also excellent, and the icing on the cake was that we were spoiled with all sorts of lovely surprises.

When I read the reviews, I read that the service was rude and the food wasn't good, but that's not the case at all. We were there very early, so there was hardly anyone there, but as the evening progressed, it became increasingly noisy.

We recently dined here on a Sunday with friends. The food was delicious, as we've come to expect from 't Zusje, but the service was disappointing. Our table was forgotten about for drinks, and after the third round of food, we had to wait a very long time each time. We also ordered Winter tea, but the glass had a large crack in it. After pointing this out, we received a new one. We then ordered another, but it arrived in the exact same glass with the large crack, so unfortunately, nothing was done about it. We mentioned this to the staff at checkout, but they were again quick to address it. Staff at the table were sometimes difficult to understand due to their soft voices.

It's a nice place, but the speed and service are truly awful. The service itself is really nice, but the system simply doesn't work here. We've visited several of their sister restaurants, but this one is much worse than the others. Edit: After complaining, a "manager?" came and offered us a suitable solution. This doesn't change the fact that the quality remains poor, BUT... the solution offered was polite and accepted!👌. For now I'll leave this one up, come back another time, and if it's good then I'll praise you to the skies and remove it 😄✌️

Shit, being served a measly snack every 45 minutes. And then, when you're fed up and leaving, they dare to ask for the full price. After complaining about it, they knocked 30 euros off the price. I had to go to McDonald's to avoid driving home hungry. NEVER AGAIN.
