It's been a long time since I've been here. The appetizer was still just as I remembered—delicious! Friendly staff.

Excellent Indian food with friendly staff, while the decor is dated the food makes up for this they do get busy so the service slows at those times.

The food was fantastic. The service was what you'd expect in a restaurant. Few restaurants can deliver that anymore. Everything was fantastic. The atmosphere was great, delicious, and authentic. A gem of Indian cuisine.

Wow, a perfect example of a hidden gem! We've lived near this restaurant for four years, but had never eaten here—until today. What a cozy atmosphere with an extensive menu (especially fantastic for vegetarians). The service is outstanding, something you rarely see these days. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! We'll definitely be back :).

Good food and drinks, though considerably less tasty than when the previous owner and chef were still there. Service is good but not very fast, and sometimes there's some difficulty with Dutch. The restaurant is suitable for vegetarians as well as meat eaters. Beef is also on the menu. Unfortunately, parking in front of the restaurant is not possible. The entrance is not wheelchair accessible.

Very pleasent experience in this restaurant! Loved the paneer with coconut and the sauces were amazing. Mango Lassi for 3.25€ was phenomenal

The worst Indian restaurant I have ever tasted in my life. The food is very bad, the colors and shapes are tasteless, and the worst thing is that the chicken breast tasted like sugar, and they put boiled eggs in it. The amount was literally two small pieces of chicken, and the rest was boiled eggs and vegetables. The waiter said that the Dutch like it. Okay, we came to an Indian restaurant. We want Indian food, not Indian and Dutch food.

It should radiate some coziness. It is not now, but it was delicious

My family and I had dinner at this restaurant tonight .. Exceptional service and genuine hospitality! The staff made us feel so welcome and their attention to detail really elevated the dining experience. Fantastic food !!! The flavors were authentic and every dish was cooked to perfection.

Not where you want to go for real authentic Indian. Tikka chicken, fluorescent sauce that tastes like nothing. Butter chicken, yuk. Lamb madras, meh. Jalfrezi was ok. Raita that tastes like candy floss. Garic nan was good!

Binnenkomst: een hier en daar beetje versleten ogende inrichting. Wel onmiddellijk welkom geheten door de zeer verkouden eigenaar; uiteraard heel onverstandig en bijna een reden om rechtsomkeert te maken. Anderen namen gelukkig de bediening over. De menukaart is erg uitgebreid. Te uitgebreid: of de bediening of de kok weet dan blijkbaar niet meer wie wat precies heeft besteld en welke ingrediënten er bij horen. Het niet-bestelde gerecht toch aangenomen, opdat we allemaal konden gaan eten. Goed eten. Verse gerechten, mals vlees en smaakvolle sausen - al is dat laatste soms wat overvloedig. Al met al goed gegeten voor een goede prijs. De keuken verdient een frissere aankleding.

Curry base sause is given to customers ..telling them it's Dal soup..or muligarwany. Food was quite okay but the restaurant is only 1 star, dirty, filthy tablecloth with stains, everything is dirty (cobwebs, dirty carpet, worn chairs that don't sit for a meter), waiter in sweatpants. Filthy toilet. In need of renovation and a major cleaning.

I ordered food via their own site and asked if they could bring it at half past six. However, at 6 o'clock the food was still not there. So I called and only then did they prepare and deliver the food, which was more than 1.5 hours later. Unfortunately, this has happened before. I won't order from here again.

Vriendelijke ontvangst en bediening. Zeer uitgebreide kaart met heerlijke gerechten in allerlei soorten en smaken. Last but not least zeer betaalbaar, dat maak je niet zo vaak meer mee in de NL horeca. Dus waar voor je geld, zeker een stop waard. We hebben genoten!!

We aten hier op een zondagavond. Het was niet druk, iets van 6 tafels omgeveer warwn bezet. Het eten (paneer curry, naanbroodjes) was lekker en leuk geprijsd!

Great restaurant. Been more than once over the years. This last time (Dec 2024) we also had a good meal, but unfortunately the service was not good (they only spoke poor English, did not listen well and were not sufficiently service-oriented). The food was good.

My food was really tasty, so was the 7 others, 1 of our group was not satisfied, he thought the meat was tough. My mango lassie was completely forgotten unfortunately. There was also a mistake made with 1 dish, but that was resolved in record time.

The food was okay, but not very special. The service was friendly and attentive, but not exceptional. All in all a reasonable experience, but not one that really stands out. • Butter Chicken: The sauce is quite sweet, and the chicken could have been a bit more tender. • Lamb Massalum: The lamb was mostly on the dry side, with the occasional more tender bit in between. • Garlic Naan: For me personally, the garlic flavor is a bit too strong, but this is highly recommended for real garlic lovers. • Basmati Rice: Flavored with saffron and well prepared.

Mwah niet echt bijzonder, we hadden een menu, het smaakte allemaal erg zoet, niet zoals ik gewend ben van een Indiaas restaurant. Op zich prima gegeten, maar niet echt een aanrader. Voor ons geen 2e keer.

It is always a pleasure to eat at Taj Mahal! The food is fresh, tasty and really of top quality. Every time I am surprised by the delicious dishes. The service is also fantastic – friendly and attentive. This is my regular place to order from and I recommend it to everyone!

Delicious food. Naans were especially very good. Portion sizes are good enough. Only negative for me is poor furniture with chairs being very wobbly. The chairs fell on back thrice while getting up.

I've been here on a number of occasions, the food is always excellent but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Never have I been in a restaurant and when finished all asked to pass empty plates down the table so that the server can collect the empty dishes. In most reasonable restaurants the server stands to your left and collects the dishes from the individual guest.

! It's an Indian restaurant, so the recipes are from India. Certainly not an Indonesian restaurant where the recipes come from Indonesia.

I've had takeout here several times. My favorite, balti gosht chicken tika with rice and naan. Too bad it's a 25 minute drive for me, otherwise I would go more often.

Been coming there for 15 years, but the dishes have tasted different lately. Take the Tindaloo chicken for example: cowardly and tasteless, even watery. In addition to the rice, the quantities are no longer generous. If you order a dahl with egg, it contains half a boiled egg, nothing more. The amounts of curry also seem to be getting smaller. After I asked, the waiter told me that they have a new chef and it is noticeable. The only thing I was very positive about was the naan bread with lamb, but of course people don't go to a restaurant like this to only eat bread. The operation itself was minimal: Designate a place, take your order and then you basically figure it out. Don't ask if everything is to your liking, don't check if drinks can be ordered, don't ask afterwards if we want to order something or if we would like the bill. It used to be better in this restaurant.

Chicken Madras that was sweet, not spicy. Waiting to be served forever despite lots of staff. Ordered a soup and halfway through the main course came, put on heating placeholder with no candles. Never again. PS. I wrote this review before I paid bill and explained food was not what I expected. Apparently I was given other dish which explained mismatch with expectations. Was offered 25% discount as sign of apology. Fair gesture.

Aan een tafel geparkeerd naast de ingang, niet echt sfeervol maar goed... Meest uigebreide menu besteld om van alles eens te proeven. Het was best ok als je geen idiaas gewend bent, maar veel hetzeflde en opvallend zoet. Kortom... mwaah... gemiddeld. Overigens was de Garlic Naan wel erg goed !!!

Great Restaurant for Indian qusiene

Forgot 2x Naan bread for the 3rd time, agreed to send an email and that I would be contacted with a solution. had to wait almost 3 weeks (after I sent a 2nd email). I'm sorry but no longer a customer after 30 years, I hope it was worth the 15 euros. Customer service is below par.

I have visited Taj Mahal with a group of hockey friends in the past. They had been reasonable in food quality and value for money. However, we re-visited Taj Mahal on Saturday 11th May 2024 in a group of 16 matured people of Indian origin. Booking a table on-line was impossible but we were accepted as 'walk-in' customers. The whole menu was in Dutch and none of us can not read or write Dutch. All staff members were useless in explaining the menu even thou we were communicating in Urdu. Menu prices were expensively high and portion sizes were miniature. ZERO value for money. Every dish tasted horrible, perhaps all acceptable by the locals who do not know any better. The manager took our order and even he messed it up. We asked for chilled beers and we ended up paying for 3 off warm Kingfisher Beer bottles as well that were sent back. A proper RIP - OFF. To gain respect, Taj Mahal need to employ good quality professional chefs and waiting staff. Employing any one with Pakistani / Indian origin will fool the locals but not INDIAN people like me who travel the world and enjoy good quality international cuisine. Taj Mahal were well below poor with food quality and service. I and my groups of relatives and friends will never visit Taj Mahal again, unless we get a complimentary invite with the assurance that (at least) they have new quality chefs. Have food delivered to your home. Delivery time was ok. 57 euros worth of food. 3 bowls and 3 naan. Butter chicken and a curry were very sweet. No taste at all. And a mixed grill. The meat was a bit dry and had little flavor. Seems like they don't use salt. First time ordering here, and most likely the last. I wasn't impressed with the naan either.

A major disappointment. Went back again after years. I am a fan of Indian food, and in the past I have had a good meal here, but now it is really disappointing Mussuman paneer sauce much too sweet and tasteless indeterminate sauce, only coconut flavor with sugar or something, the tandori meat was so dry that day it seemed as if it had already been there that day , only the chicken leg was reasonable. The vegetarian biryani was ok, but everything was overcooked.

Bad food there was egg on the butter chicken. Delivery took 2 and a half hours. I will never order from here again!

Ordered to pick up, food smells super good and for 20 euros 3 people can eat. On holiday I always eat curry madras at a Pakistani, much spicier here (I can handle spices very well) but unfortunately after 1 bite I was done :( otherwise super friendly staff!

Delicious spicy and richly spiced vindaloo and tindaloo curries! Lots of choice of authentic Indian dishes and the restaurant is nicely decorated, perhaps a bit dated, but I like that cozy, warm atmosphere. Be sure to order some (garlic) naan bread on the side, super delicious with coriander and garlic!

Mutton balti curry was bland flavour less n less quantity for the price paid, aloo paratha was just bread with no potato filling, thy charged us 6 eur extra for tap water which we confirmed twice was free. Only thing good was chicken biryani, which we asked for spicy.

Tables are a bit small if there are 4 people sitting at them. Food was good, although some variation, when you eat in and/or take away. The taste of the chicken tikka curry is good. The butterchicken is a bit too sweet for me. But you can argue about taste. Great choice of dishes. Price is slightly more expensive than the other Indian in Breda.

Ordered butter chicken which tasted like pumpkin, and was actually really not nice in taste. There were no spices or any nice flavour, the garlic naan was dry and cold. The rice was okay. Do not recommend.

We ordered lamb curry, paneer butter masala and chicken vindaloo. As a Indian I can confirm that the food had no indian flavours and only lots of color and artificial flavours. The paneer butter masala was cooked in a coconut gravy which is a big disappointment, nobody cooks like that. The lamb was alright but lacked spice and flavours as well. Coming to the chicken, it was by far, the worst chicken we have ever had !! Not only was the gravy heavily diluted but was also added with a tea spoon full of spice powder just to make it taste indian which ruined the whole experience. Lastly the starters were a big scam !! They just fried the frozen pakoda and onion Bhanjee when we ordered it. Nothing was prepared freshly even though the restaurant was empty. This is insane :( The service was very good although the food does need a lot of improvement. Would not recommend it someone who would like to experience authentic Indian food.

Disappointing! The butter chicken had nothing to do with butter chicken. It had coconut in it, was very sweet and had egg on it. Nice idea, but come up with another name for it. I expected authentic Indian food but unfortunately this didn't come close. Never again

Super goed eten! Ook een hele pagina vega! Minpunt was de bediening, die was vrij traag, en hij stootte een glas vol drinken om, en we kregen geen nieuw. Het was redelijk druk, en we moesten 40 minuten wachten op her voorgerecht.

I visited Taj Mahal restaurant yesterday, and I must say the service and atmosphere were commendable. The staff was attentive and the ambiance was pleasant. However, I was disappointed with the food itself. The mix grill was overcooked and lacked the expected tenderness. The vegetable dishes were prepared with a monotonous gravy consisting of tomato puree and spices, lacking the desired flavors. Unfortunately, nothing stood out as particularly tasty. Despite the great service and ambiance, the food's quality left much to be desired.

Ondanks dat we niet gereserveerd hadden konden we hier nog terecht op een late tijdstip. Het eten werd vrij snel geserveerd nadat we onze keuze gemaakt hadden en het smaakte heerlijk. Er was een rustige en fijne sfeer.

I liked the beer. The samosas filling was too mushy and mostly potatoes. You can’t get chicken filling. The chutney had too much of a coriander taste for my liking. I had to wait a long time for the main course to come out and there were only three tables. when it came, everything was cold. The naan was kinda stale and I didn’t like the chicken curry. I lacked the Indian spices. I have had much beter Indian food in the Netherlands.
