Cozy place. Definitely try the pitcher of sgroppino. And then there's that cute Amsterdammer who calls it a jug of milk! Great spot after Panama.

Unfortunately the service was bad. It seems they may have been understaffed during a busier time, which resulted in the servers being agitated with us when they got something wrong. This included bringing the wrong dishes, forgetting to put in an order, etc. I thought the food was not bad, but I only had the vegetarian tapas. Overall, I would say it’s best not to go when you think they’ll be busy, as they just get annoyed at you for their issue.

If you need one reason let it be th gambas.

We wanted to describe how rudely we were treated. We regularly come for drinks in the evening, and we usually stay for several drinks. This time, we went for another drink and asked if we could turn on the heater on the patio. It wasn't allowed, because the employee said we weren't going to eat. We explained that we come here often and that this had never been a problem before. The employee responded with, "The boss doesn't allow it." What made it even more strange was that two women were smoking, and their heater was on. This felt unfair and disrespectful.

Taparia is a really great, cozy place to eat. I've eaten there many times and it's always enjoyable. Good food, friendly staff, and a nice atmosphere! Definitely recommended if you love tapas.

We went on a Sunday for lunch. The restaurant was supposed to open at 12:00. We arrived at 12:30, but it was still closed, even though there were people inside. When we asked when the restaurant would open, they told us, “We don’t know, we are not with the restaurant.” But they were inside the restaurant, which made the situation even more confusing. We decided to come back later, hoping they would be open by then. We returned around 13:15, but the restaurant was still closed over an hour after the official opening time. There was no sign on the door, no online update, no information anywhere to indicate that the restaurant would remain closed. It was very frustrating to wait twice and waste our time when we could have gone somewhere else. At the very least, they should put a simple note or sign saying they are not open yet, so customers don’t wait outside or come back for nothing. A small update would already make a huge difference and prevent people from wasting their time and feeling misled. I hope the restaurant management takes this feedback seriously, because this is not a good first impression and it could be avoided so easily.

A wonderful meal with friends. Delicious food and excellent service. A minor issue was quickly resolved. The music was nice, but quite loud. As the evening progressed, the volume unfortunately increased, making group conversations impossible. I definitely recommend the restaurant, but arrive early!

Good food, nice place. Went there for a work related dinner and the staff was very accommodating. Genuinely everything was tasty, would love to return some day.

I used to go there whenever I was in Amsterdam and had an event nearby, usually at Club Panama. Last time, there was a major mistake when I paid the bill. I only realized it later, once I got home, so I emailed the general address explaining the problem and providing evidence. The manager replied that she would look into it. It's now been almost three weeks and I haven't heard anything despite my follow-ups. This is neither professional nor honest towards loyal customers. It's clear I won't be going back. It's a shame because the food is good and the atmosphere is excellent. I admit I expected a bit more consideration from them.

Nice restaurant, delicious food, and not too crowded. It's cozy and the menu isn't overly crowded, which is a plus. The service is very friendly. It's easily accessible by public transport, and there's a parking garage within walking distance.

If you love shared dining, you absolutely must eat here. What a feast, what beautiful dishes, and what delicious sangrias. And lovely people with a passion for their work. Enjoyed it.

We were very disappointed in the food and service. The croquettes were basically potatoes with no flavour, the nachos were a pile of tortilla with very little topping, chicken wings seemed microwaved and when we asked if the prawns were cooked in alcohol we were told it didn't matter if it was because the alcohol would have burned off ! Luckily we were more interested in seeing our friend we hadn't seen for years but having terrible food , service that constantly asked if we wanted anything else then forgot when we did, means we would never recommend this tapas bar.

What a wonderful discovery! Taparia Amsterdam now also has a fantastic lunch menu from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM — perfect for a relaxing afternoon. The sandwiches are super fresh and generously filled (the one with Parma ham is highly recommended!), and the smoothies are wonderfully refreshing. But the absolute highlight? The tomato soup – incredibly delicious! A charming spot with friendly service and top-quality food. Definitely a new favorite for lunch in Amsterdam!

Amazing food, atmosphere, and location. We had 7 or 8 different dishes. Everything was original and very tasty.

No vegan options, or very unclear at least

Curious experience. We arrived and the waiter brought us a paper and a pen that we need to write down our own order. Then we waited for 45 minutes and no one ever came back. Interestingly there were at least 3 waiters and only 5-6 occupied tables. Then we got tired to wait and left. I believe they really expected us not only to write down our order but also bring it to the kitchen and cook 💁‍♂️

Lovely restaurant on the banks of the canal. Lots of alfresco dining with a Mediterranean feel. Service really quick and friendly. Food amazing. Lamb melts in the mouth. Fantastically tasty veggies. Juicy garlic prawns. Best tapas I’ve ever tasted.

Had an aperitif, pleasant location!

After waiting a while and calling out for drinks, you finally order them. You then have to ask them again to order. You order a bread platter, calamari, and hare skewers. You get the calamari and skewers, but no bread. When you try to get something else, no one comes, so we go inside, pay, and are told to leave the bread. Unfortunately, no tip was given.

1 euro for toilet- also for the customers of the bar / restaurant. Unbelievable.

Due to the sail, a modified menu with a few options was offered. Everything cost €7.50, which is certainly nothing special. The worst part was that you had to pay a euro to use the restroom, even though you were actually eating. Disgraceful. Awful place 🏕️

Top location, delicious food and a nice atmosphere!

Delicious food at a waterfront spot in, almost, the heart of Amsterdam. A shared dinner with delicious tapas, great music, and drinks. A must-do!

A very large and varied selection of tapas, perfect for sharing with a larger group. A bit outside of town, but definitely worth it. We had to wait a bit for drinks at times; the Aperol Spritz wasn't that good, but various cocktails are very tasty. The atmosphere is relaxed and has a beach bar feel, and there's even a roof in case of rain. Very good value for money.

Waited more than one hour for a beer, and then staff was surprised and unfriendly that we asked multiple times where our drinks were. I went here quite few times but I am definitely not coming back any time soon!

Typical European restaurant with excessively loud club music. The music is so loud it can be heard high up in the hotel rooms across the street, with the windows closed and a fan going full blast. They are open until 1am and blast this techno music to the very last second, despite the restaurant being a ghost town. Doesn’t fit the vibe of the neighborhood- go elsewhere

Delicious food and a fantastic atmosphere

I’m Spanish and finding proper tapas abroad isn’t always easy — but Taparia is awesome. Not everthing is 100% Spanish (for example they have flammkuechen) but food is super tasty, and Saad, our waiter, is very, very, very friendly and lovely. He always makes you feel at home. Honestly, he’s a big part of why I keep coming back! The other is that…. THEY HAVE ESTRELLA DE GALICIA! ♥️ On top, on fridays usually there is a latin band playing, is a very child friendly place (with room for strollers) also accessible by wheelchair…. I really love this place

Absolutely loved this place! The terrace is fantastic spacious, comfortable, and perfect for enjoying the summer evenings. We had some of the best tapas we’ve eaten in a long time; every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. As the evening went on, the atmosphere became even more cozy and vibrant. The bar offered a great selection of drinks, and the music added just the right touch without being too loud. It’s the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time. What a discovery! Taparia Amsterdam is a hidden gem in the city. From the moment you enter, you feel the warm, relaxed atmosphere. The interior looks super atmospheric, with a cozy terrace where you can sit comfortably. The service is friendly, attentive and really thinks along with you. You feel welcome here. But of course it's all about the food... and that is phenomenal. The tapas are original and perfectly balanced in terms of taste and presentation. We tasted the puga de carne — an absolute must! Every dish is prepared with care and they clearly work with fresh ingredients. The wine list is also excellent, with beautiful combinations with every dish. You notice that love for cooking and hospitality come together here. In short: a cozy hotspot where we will definitely come back often. Perfect for a cozy evening with friends or a romantic dinner. A real must in Amsterdam!

Nice place! The food was very tasty and the staff super friendly. Nice that you can order in rounds here - so you eat just enough and don't waste anything. The pornstar martini was really great. We were there on a Sunday, so free parking was also a bonus. Definitely worth repeating!

Excellent food 100 recommendable

The food was horrible (“nachos” were a small order of chips with some microwaved toppings on the top chips, multiple items we ordered never arrived, we had various people stop at our table but no consistent server - we asked for water multiple times and only got it with the bill, we ordered the white sangria and it was a pitcher of mostly sprite and cava - tasted like an overly sweetened medicine. If the service had been good, we may have overlooked the terrible food and drinks but the entire experience was hugely disappointing. I would highly recommend avoiding this spot!

Really nice food! Family friendly place and excellent location by the water

Nice place in the summer, the food is good but not in proportion to the prices, we have ham order 21.50 euros for a portion where 4 slices on a board with 3 crispy pieces of biscuit, can't, papa's bravas with mayo and a red Sous, 9 euros, can't, and so went the whole evening, you have to spend about 100 euros per person to go home a little happy, too bad,

Food was good, service was fine. But the music was way too loud at one point.

The service is subpar, chaos meets lack of planning. After 10 minutes the drinks were taken, after another 10 they came. The food is way too expensive. Clearing away is a foreign word and you are deliberately ignored. Absolutely not recommended and we actually ended up going to this place twice. The outcome was always the same.

We ordered some tapas. Asked for tap water and they declined to offer it if we did not ask additional drinks. The explanation given “we need to pay the rent”. Let me remind everyone that drinking tap water is usual in amsterdam and NOT expensive. They just lost 5 returning clients.

Food was below average, tasted like it was microwaved and I’ve been to Spain and had tapas this is nothing close. Service was slow and waited 15 minutes for our bill. Also could see both cooks only one had gloves and she was shoving food in her mouth while the other without gloves scratched her head at least 5 times during our meal. Would not recommend as much better places around.

Didn't eat. Had a few glasses of wine. Service is good but a bit businesslike. Assessment of atmosphere is of course somewhat personal. Despite the lights and nice decoration, it also feels a bit businesslike in this area.

Our new favorite place in Amsterdam! Took our three children who are usually picky eaters, however here they were eating everything from steak to cheesecake. Highly recommend this shareable concept!

Muy amable recepción. Estábamos en un apuro para cenar para llegar a un espectáculo en Mezrab (cerca) a tiempo y preguntamos si nos podían servir convenientemente. Que fue exactamente lo que sucedió, nuestras preferencias de dieta vegana se procesan sin problemas sobre la marcha. La cena fue de MUY buen gusto. Dos clientes muy contentos dejaron el acogedor restaurante en solo media hora. Con mucho gusto comeremos allí de nuevo y le recomiendo que vaya allí también.

The food is good even if there are some dishes on the menu that are not exactly Spanish. The portions are a little small. We paid the right amount for the bill considering the location.

Great place to visit for snacks or a meal, large or small.

I once again was reminded why going for dinner in Amsterdam can be disappointing. We went here Thursday before seeing a show at the Panama. We were seated, drink order taken and drinks came quite quick. Then nothing for a while, our waitress sat down to eat (which she probably deserved) but for nearly 25 mins we had to wait to order food and only after several attempts a waiter helped us, the other one kind of ignored us. The food then came quick but items were missing. 2nd round the same - especially the Calamaris was overly salty. We tried each time to mention that but empty plates were removed, no question for further drinks and off the service ran. When we mentioned that we put items on the order the answer was: no, I did not ring it in so you did not order. Dessert as well was not amazing - the food was ok and tasty but for 1 cocktail, 1 soft drink and some Tapas we paid 180€ - in my eyes quality and price were not adding up. For me its clear - it was a one time visit.

It was very cold, a good place, cozy and a fantastic place to eat, brunch, snack...before or after the visit to the van Gogh Museum or the MOCO. Or if you go ice skating... I loved their hot chocolate with cream.

With the occasional lump in my throat next to my son, I had a pleasant evening. Taparia, as the name suggests, has a nice choice of tapas. In a nice atmosphere. Large terrace. Playground. There is also a possibility for private parties in the space above. With many possibilities.

A "wanna be" Spanish restaurant. It fulfills its function. But don't expect too much. Food ok. And with Amsterdam prices (that is, expensive). Please do not compare it with Spain because you will be disappointed.

Their VIP table were extremely loud, but the restaurant’s management didn’t care at all. Billing and taking orders were poor too. Nobody is behind the wheel there. It looks like a Front Business.

Fuimos con amigos para tener una buena cena y ver a nuestro gran amigo tocar música en vivo. La música era genial y la Sangria llegó rápido y era muy bueno. Desafortunadamente, aquí es donde terminó la buena experiencia. El fo 9 d era bueno, pero el servicio era bastante malo. Tuvimos que esperar 1. 5 horas para conseguir nuestra comida. Y cuando nos quejamos, todavía tuvimos que esperar unos 30 minutos hasta que llegó la comida. Por lo tanto, solo un buen lugar para comer y beber si no te importa esperar mucho tiempo.

Overall nice but I wasn’t mind blown. The price is a bit steep for what you get as the portions are quite small.

Tapas were good. Sangria was really delicious. The atmosphere was okay and the staff was friendly. I want to visit once when there is live music.

This place is a scam. The food is way too expensive for what it is, super small portions that still left me hungry afterwards, and not authentic Spanish food at all. Definitely don’t go for the patates bravas or you will be disappointed. One younger waitress was extremely rude (others were rather incompetent). Forced to order a drink even if you just want a bite, and when asking for tap water on top, which we really wanted as the food is salty and greasy, we were rudely denied it as well (this is uncommon in the Netherlands). At least say it in a nice way. Also the toilet is rather disgusting. Also the atmosphere is cosy but also very cheap looking, all fake plastic stuff and just giving very cheap wannabe fancy vibes of a place.

Visité con mi marido y dos adolescentes cuando me alojé en el lugar. Estamos en la terraza, ya que el tiempo era glorioso, y disfrutamos de la música en vivo, así como excelente comida fresca. Lo bueno de las tapas es que hay algo para todos. Pedimos una variedad de platos. La tortilla española estaba deliciosa, a mis adolescentes les encantaron las mini hamburguesas y la pizza era magnífica. Un placer encantador en el primer día de vacaciones.

Good food, it looked like a cozy restaurant, you could easily reserve online,... but the service was not really good. We waited a long time before someone came to serve us. There were quite a few people walking around there, they didn't seem understaffed. Then we ordered various tapas, which arrived quickly, but for example the cheese with marmalade had very little marmalade in it. I asked for something extra, but never received it. At a certain point when all our tapas were finished, the last tapa never came. Before anyone came to help us,... We spoke to someone who was coming, but never came,... Finally someone at the table, she knew immediately that this tapa was no longer available, but they did not tell us that before. The person who came to record it did not know this. I also asked for the bill twice, never received it, had to pay it myself. Pity...

The food is tasty, but pricey and not very special. As part of our food we ordered the 3 lamb chops that were on the menu. To our surprise we only got 2 on a plate. Thinking that this was a mistake, we spoke to the (very friendly) waiter who took the plate to the kitchen. When we returned, there were still 2 chops on it with the message that the chops were heavier and that was why we got 2. Discussion was of no avail, we did not get one more. Sent the dish back and went to eat somewhere else. What deceit and bad service! We'll never go there again.

The pros: beautiful location, tasty food, friendly server, food arrived quickly The cons: high price for small portions. Water is 6.50 euros a bottle which allows 4 people to have a very small glass. What? So even though the food was enjoyable we left having to pay more than we anticipated when we came. Gave 3 stars because of the mixed experience.
