Great place. Nice decor and friendly staff. Good coffee and cake. Kids can play in the play area under the stairs. The only downside is that it closes at 5:00 PM on Fridays.

A different kind of high tea than usual. That was fine. Unfortunately, we weren't asked to leave in a particularly friendly manner...which was a shame.

We had organized a surprise baby shower. Everything was ready when we arrived at 2:30 PM. We did have to light the candles and lights ourselves after waiting 25 minutes for a lighter. The staff was so busy they couldn't serve us; we would have loved to have a drink beforehand. As discussed beforehand, we were allowed to decorate the table and put up balloons ourselves, which was fantastic! We had our own space, which was also fantastic. Our mom-to-be arrived at 3:00 PM, and unfortunately, there was nothing on the table yet, which was a real disappointment. Tea didn't arrive until 3:20 PM, and the food (afternoon tea) arrived shortly after. The tea came in a stainless steel pot, which didn't match the lovely, elegant plates that were used elsewhere. It turned out there were only two beautiful teapots, and they were already in use. But no big deal. The food looked fantastic and was delicious, a nice change from the standard high tea. The service was really bad, although you can't entirely blame a young woman left alone by her team leader; it was especially terrible from the management. We ordered wine, and it turned out to have been taken to another table. After half an hour, it finally arrived. Shortly after, they suddenly announced that they were going to do their last round because the place had to be empty by 5:00 PM. What??? We had a reservation from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM (the standard time for afternoon tea is 2:00 PM). We started late and suddenly had to finish early, which was really strange. Shortly after, they also loudly demanded to pay and asked if we had booked through Social Deal (in front of our guest!). Uh, no? Ridiculous. We followed them and settled the payment at the bar. They didn't know about our deposit, which was also strange, but it was eventually resolved. The young woman who was the only one serving had to handle everything herself, tidy up, and finish up. And to think there were two big baby showers at the house, the restaurant, and the patio. We really felt sorry for her. We definitely wouldn't have another baby shower here; you just can't rely on it being organized properly.

The temperature inside could be a few degrees higher. 🥶 I had a pastrami sandwich, which was overcooked and could have been a bit bigger.

We came in later that day for a nice cup of coffee. Upon arrival, they immediately said (one hour beforehand) that we'd be closing soon. We said that wasn't a problem and that we'd also like a coffee to go. We sat down anyway, and it took almost 15 minutes for her to come to us. The woman who helped us, her tone was arrogant and anything but friendly. In short, not very pleasant communication at all. The coffee wasn't good either; it had a hint of cinnamon in it that we hadn't requested. Never again.

Very nice atmosphere and welcoming team ! There was a little mistake in a meal we ordered but the team replaced it, we really appreciated. We will come back.

We had a fantastic baby shower at Ted's in Maarssen. The location is beautiful, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was wonderful, and we had a wonderful afternoon! Highly recommended!

My daughter had just given birth and really wanted a poached egg again. I was able to pick it up. The staff member had wrapped it well and put a sweet message on the bag. She really enjoyed it. Thank you so much.

I ate potato chips outdoors and they were crispy and delicious. I can't say the scenery is that good. The weather is good today, anything is fine

It's a shame that such a terrace is not swept before guests arrive.

We had a "Dark and Stormy" and a hot chocolate with cream. For together For just under 17 euros we got a cocktail with what felt like 8 ice cubes, which tasted nothing like rum. Just ice cubes, practically no drink. 12 euros for that!!!! The chocolate tasted like water, had a tiny dollop of poor quality cream, but almost all of it had run down the glass, making it a very sticky affair. In the next room, which is actually quite nice, all the tables were full of used dishes and glasses. No one from the service cared about it, even though there were hardly any guests and certainly none of the service ladies (actually quite friendly) overworked themselves. Unfortunately, for the reasons mentioned above, I have to agree with the many bad reviews. Guys, you have a really nice location in a great location in Maarssen. Make something of it and make an effort. In any case it won't work!!!

Lovely mini terrace along De Vecht. Cheerful staff. A real getaway in your own village.

I ordered the Afternoon T together with my sister. Several delicious, surprising, small dishes. And several pots of tea. The young ladies serving are nice and very helpful. It was really a pampering moment.

The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. It's just a bit of a long wait for your food. So don't want to be in a hurry. There is also a surprising menu for the children.

Wonderful place in Maarssen. The service is great, a young and friendly team! Sometimes there is a lack of seniority on the floor, but everyone is friendly and motivated. I don't like the food, fine for a coffee and cake or simple lunch, but don't expect culinary delights. The biggest plus is a cozy terrace on the Vecht side (without kids 😏) and a large terrace at the rear (with kids). In my opinion, a little more attention could be paid to the appearance, the terrace is a bit messy, lots of weeds, tables are crooked and could use a cleaning. All in all, the nicest place in Maarssen to sit, especially with small children because of the play corner and children's dishes.

The food was delicious. Best Philly cheesesteak! Glad they came to Maarssen, we always went to Amsterdam for Teds. Every time! The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff which is always nice. Good atmosphere and place for lunch.

Last week we were going to have a brunch with our witnesses for our wedding at Teds Maarssen. Booked in advance and called with our requests. The table would be beautifully decorated, champagne and all the luxurious snacks would be placed on the table. It was all no problem and it would be arranged. I asked if a deposit had to be made but that was not necessary. Upon arrival nothing had been organized! They said, just choose a table. Nothing set up or arranged. We grabbed the reading table. Nothing had been arranged. No special snacks, no drinks, nothing. The glasses for the champagne were so dirty with stains and deposits. The top edges were cleaned, but she couldn't reach the rest, she said. I asked to put out all the fancy meals. She came back and said we are going to have a high tea. Huh???? I asked for brunch. Poached egg with ham and salmon came to the table. The poached eggs were hard on the inside. Nothing soft like poached eggs should be. Then came slices of bread with bacon and banana. Bread with hummus and peppers. But to top it all off, at half past ten in the morning, fries with parmesan cheese and truffle mayonnaise plus fried chicken snacks on a bagel. No fresh croissant, nothing. A big, dirty, greasy mess!!! And this is your dinner with your witnesses!!! The owner appeared to be present but did not even come by to apologize. Let alone to congratulate us. What a drama this was. Never, ever again. What an unprofessional place this is. If I even inquire by telephone and you say that you arrange everything and dress beautifully and this is your result, how dare you!!

Had to wait a very long time for drinks and food, and food was not served fresh, expensive. Certainly not in terms of price ratio. Food did not taste fresh, probably had been in the kitchen for too long.

Very nice new restaurant in Maarssen! The makeover of this old building was a success, very cozy but also chic. The food is great! French classics are cooked here, but there is also room for Teds' creative brunch dishes. Must visit! P.s. amazing wine list too!

And again it's a hit. If you come with friends to have a drink, you will again find yourself in front of a closed door. Time: 3:45 PM; Sunday afternoon. And this is the umpteenth time. Why are the times stated on the website not adhered to??? Initially we had expressed the hope that Teds would enrich our village. Unfortunately, that has become an illusion. The fact that the clientele has decreased substantially over time, resulting in the closing times being repeatedly reduced is extremely disappointing. The management should think carefully about whether the Maarssen branch still has a right to exist at all. As far as we are concerned, it should be clear what we think about it.

Nice place to sit, but the food is not right in terms of price/quality. 2 pieces of bread with 3 slices of banana and 3 slices of bacon each for €13. The chef was late so we couldn't order food before 11:30. The cakes in the meantime were very tasty. Tip: also put the drinks on the menu, it was now a matter of guessing what was there.

Overall nice place. Have been here 6-7 times now. They have decent coffee but certainly nothing amazing. Nice staff though and the food is pretty good!

One Sunday I decided to drive from Utrecht to Teds in Maarssen, attracted by the opening time of 9am. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a disappointing experience. Upon arrival I was completely ignored by the staff. Although that was already annoying, I decided to ignore it and find a table that wasn't dirty. That turned out to be difficult, because there was not a single clean table available. In the end I just took a seat at a dirty table. When I looked around, it looked like a big party had taken place the night before. There was a strong smell of alcohol and my shoes were stuck to the floor due to all kinds of dirt. This unfortunately seemed to be a standard of Teds. After more than 15 minutes I was finally offered a drink. I was at work, so I could still tolerate this. However, then came the biggest disappointment: the kitchen didn't open until 10:00 am. For someone who came for a breakfast, this was very disappointing. To make matters worse, the sandwich I ultimately ordered was really poorly filled. This seemed to indicate that they are really having a hard time here. What a bad experience. I really wonder how Teds can survive under these conditions. If sales are disappointing, it is no surprise. I wouldn't recommend anyone eat here; your money is better spent at a McDonald's. At least there you get WiFi and a clean workplace. P.S. Nothing to say against the maid who was working, this is clearly a management issue. She was running her lungs out.

The menu is really diverse and has a lot of choice. The site said we were there from 9:00 am on Father's Day on Sunday and it said we were open from 10 am. No problem yet, but there were few people in the restaurant and we still received our coffee late and our food only at about 10.45. Also, eggs, for example, were cold and croquettes were lukewarm, which should have been warm. We saw the food ready for a while on the counter near the kitchen. Actually, if a little more attention and speed were applied, everything would be perfect. Or just extra staff. Perhaps a point of attention in connection with previous reviews. Other than that you're fine. Nice location.

The food is fine, it's just a shame that you always have to wait so long for your food, there is always something out/not available, the staff doesn't always seem to understand it all. It's really a shame, the space inside and outside is nice, but often very quiet and not a cozy atmosphere. We have been/tried there a number of times now, but unfortunately it is disappointing every time.

The food was fine this time. I came for lunch. Last July I got food poisoning during dinner (my first time at this location). So no fun. Also sent an email at the time, never received a response. Now we had to be in that area yesterday, and I thought I'd give it another chance. You notice that the service really leaves much to be desired. I was given a dirty cup with an insect in it, they apologized for that, but then we had to ask for honey twice and there was no honey anywhere. Three tables, and one table in particular, still had glasses and plates from the previous guests upon arrival until almost our departure. It was eventually cleared when someone wanted to sit there. So there are still plenty of points that could be improved.

Unfortunately we did not eat here. The website had very different dishes than what was on the menu in the restaurant. After our drink we went to eat somewhere else. Tip: adjust the website if you change the map!!!

We had reserved high tea via Social deal. The tea came quickly but we had to wait an hour for the food!!! The food that was supposed to be hot was cold and we didn't think it was a tasty combination. Definitely not recommended! Toilet and restaurant were also not really clean, dirty tea cup.

The taste was okay, but we both ordered the same thing and it looked completely different. My sandwich was over-toasted and almost impossible to cut and my friend's was not toasted. Long wait for order to be taken and served. Cutlery is only brought when the food is already on the table. You have to wait a long time for drinks and food. We already heard this from guests when we entered. Our sandwich arrived after half an hour. The people who ordered before us (the same thing) had to wait 40 minutes… The room was not clean, dead insects in the window frame and the floor was as if there had been a party. Too bad, nice place and nice interior!

A simple brunch was a one hour wait after ordering even though the place was almost empty. The food was mediocre at best, so it felt overpriced. The waitress was nice. I wouldn’t recommend and won’t be returning.

We made a reservation for a group of 7 people. The waiter dropped the bottle of water we ordered, glasses and all, from the table so that the shards fell among the gifts in the bag next to the table. A wine was chosen from an extensive wine list that turned out to be unavailable. We chose a new wine that was delivered after 15 minutes and turned out to be white instead of the ordered bottle of red when opened. The music went at disco volume. We immediately asked if this could be made softer, but there was no response. To our repeated request, the response was laconic and not very polite, after which it did indeed become a little softer, although the thump of the bass remained annoying. Partly due to the poor acoustics, we could still barely hear each other. Four people had cod that was way too salty. One of us had a 'daddy burger' that was missing the bacon. The fries were fried for far too long and were therefore hard. The lettuce as a 'side order' was a laughable, unimaginative bowl with bits of greenery. After the food was finished, we quickly asked for the bill and fled home, after quickly buying a dessert at the supermarket to enjoy at home in peace with a delicious cup of coffee. We concluded: eating out at Ted's bistro was once but never again.

I've been here twice now. It is a beautiful, colorful place with lots of space. However, (in my experience) there are not enough staff to serve everyone in a timely manner. Logical, given the distance the service has to travel. The service is very friendly. It takes about 20 minutes for drinks to be absorbed. The food is very tasty, but you eat it next to a table with chewed-up food from guests who have already left. There is no time for the ministry to lash out. The biggest negative for me is the 'large' fresh gravy, which is served in a small soft drink glass for no less than 6 euros ('small' gravy is 4.50 - but call that 'mini').

We ate here with a group. Booked well in advance so they knew we were coming. Unfortunately it took a very long time for the card to arrive. Even longer before the starter arrived (over an hour and a half) We collected the dishes at a certain point because they were not collected (in the meantime the waitress was busy chatting at another table). When setting the table, the napkin was placed next to it and she continued chatting. We had to ask for the wine 4 times. In the end they couldn't find the wine they requested. My colleague missed her crostini with the starter, asked for this twice, but in the end the soup was gone and still no crostini. We asked for Mayonnaise 3 times with the main course. The waitress stood there chatting quietly while we waited. I ended up walking to the kitchen to ask for mayo because the food was almost gone. So we got dessert at McDonalds because we probably still hadn't had it 3 days later. I think you will have a very good and pleasant time as a regular guest. However, as a "normal" visitor you are not sociable enough to pay attention.

So bad it's funny. After waiting far too long, the dishes were incomplete, they could not find the wine they ordered, the fries were rock hard, the most expensive dish was double the receipt. Staff would rather chat than arrange what you have already asked for several times.

On a spontaneously warm May day, my wife and I sat down at a table at the entrance with a view of the Langegracht. Lovely sunny spot. Service (very young people) did not come too quickly, just right, ordered coffee first (fine, could have been a little warmer). Ordered two sandwiches, one with cajun chicken and another with eggs and burrata. Delicious sandwiches, more like a sandwich with toasted slices of sourdough bread. Just not enough for a big eater, but very tasty. The disadvantage is that both sandwiches cost at least €14 each, which for me is really too much for what is offered. Then serve some lettuce or fries (waffle fries). Now it was a bit thin. That's why I had a mediocre apple pie with disappointing (aerosol) whipped cream. That could have been better. We will definitely come back because the location is great.

We wanted to have lunch here, but ordering 2 drinks took quite some time. The chai latte was more latte than chai. Said it needs more chai. Warm milk is not chai. So even though we were sitting in the sun, (Yes, he was there again!) we went for lunch somewhere else. Other people walked away talking about the poor service. People around us also had to wait a long time for a simple drink. Too bad.

Easter breakfast was very good, large portion and delicious dishes. Nice trendy place on the Vecht. Too bad that we had to pay €15 euros for a child of less than 2 years old, who does not yet eat anything!

Ted, get your shop in order. Our experience in food quality, service and price is almost laughable. A sketch, not really, this does not exist and is a repetitive farce from reviews below. There isn't much on the menu, the food arrives incorrectly, we waited 50 minutes for the main course. First drinks come after the starter is on the table (took more than fifteen minutes). We had to ask for the second drink again. Fries were gone (was told at service) and the waffle fries as a replacement were cold and tough. Salad bowl as a side dish gives a lonely view of limp lettuce with curls of parmesan and tastes completely uninspired. This is a lot of money for such a result. Also pay attention to the condition of your toilets during the evening and there was a pungent smell upon entering. When asked, we smoked the cheese fondue. I consciously didn't choose that after that. Sauvignon blanc was also gone, but the Vino Verde was very tasty. The burger was also tasty, but could also be an assessment of hunger at the end of a busy working week and no food at 7.50 pm. No catering entrepreneur can survive from such an experience. I also had a bad lunch experience before. Also everything and careless operation with little job satisfaction. I wish you success, a quartet of good managers, a passionate chef and an improvement plan, because the location can certainly be turned into something beautiful!

Ended up here by chance. Very nice place, attractively decorated and friendly staff. We shared the prawns, steak tartare & salmon tartare together. All very tasty and generous portions. Then we shared the cote du boeuf: large piece of meat, very tender and delicious with fries and lettuce. We are very excited about this location and the food! We will definitely come back :)

I thought the food was still sufficient, unfortunately the service was not good. It took a very long time before someone came to take the drinks, and the setting up was only done when the main course arrived. It seemed like the staff didn't really feel like it.

Excellent meal: Delicious steak and excellent mussels. It was only very cold in the back area. This was resolved well by the staff by offering us a new table in the bar area where it was pleasantly warm.

Today we had a business 'New Year's lunch' (two people). We were looking forward to it! It was cold inside and several guests were sitting with their coats on. We wanted fresh orange juice but the machine was broken. Can happen so we took another juice. Then one of us wanted to order a certain dish, but it was gone. If that happens, we'll take something else. I had the Caesar salad with avocado. The Caesar salad (which was the last one by the way, because my neighbor couldn't order it anymore, just like the next dish he chose) had a lot of dressing (the taste was nice) and the avocado was only served when I asked for it. Can happen, we are not that difficult. We were not asked for a second drink and we had to go to the bar ourselves to pay. Can happen? I normally don't like to give reviews and I say it at the moment itself, but the lady who served us couldn't do much about it. I can imagine that she wasn't doing very well at work. All in all...we were not satisfied. Too bad because it looks so nice in Utrecht and on the socials. Very hip, delicious food and super atmospheric. We didn't experience that this time. I had fish of the day with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. I thought the price was a lot because of 1 carrot and 2 stalks of broccoli leaves that were grilled. A serving spoon of mashed potatoes and a normal portion of cod. We had clearly indicated that we had to leave at 7:15 PM. This would be taken into account. We got our food at 7:10 PM. One dish was not cooked properly, so we had to wait again. A real disappointment.

In itself it is a nice place, but it really depends on where you sit. The food is fine but price/quality is really not good. Very expensive for what you get. A perch for 65 euros with some fries and vegetables. But what is really below par is the service. Not only did we have to wait a long time for absolutely everything, we also had to inquire about everything to see if it was still coming. The fries were not served with the main course but would still come. After 10 minutes I asked again. Also asked for the drinks again. All the empty glasses and bottles remained on the table... And it all seemed too much to ask. At one point a soft drink was also thrown on the table without even asking who this was for. And we had not ordered this either, but because the lady immediately walked away we could not say this either. The wine that came was the wrong one and I could go on and on. And this wasn't the first time. This will be the last time for us.

Made a reservation for dinner with a group on a Sunday. 7 items from the starters and main courses were gone. Staff did their best but were clearly inexperienced and could not come up with alternatives. The food that was there was good (cauliflower main course very sparse)

The service was extremely friendly and attentive. If only the food was of that standard. I was really looking forward to the eggs florentine. The bread underneath was mediocre and the abundant béarnaise sauce very cold and really not tasty. The ambiance depends on where you sit in the establishment. It's nice on the canal side. If you sit further back, the atmosphere is significantly less.

Hmm something is going wrong here. Suddenly you can no longer have brunch before 11am (but it is an 'all-day brunch place'?!) and the food is no longer as well prepared as before - ingredients are missing and it is often cold. Why! I hope it will be resolved soon, such a shame to have such a beautiful tent and then no good food. That's what it's all about in the end. Service is still top notch and the place is beautiful.

Very nice location! Had high tea with bubbles. €25 p.p. Easy parking. I thought the high tea was good, but not special. I thought the chicken donut was a bit strange.

The food was very tasty but the service was quite slow. I'll stop by again when I come to Maarssen.

Lunch. Food was good, nothing to complain about. On the other hand, I have never experienced service so slow before. Ask for a lunch menu at the rose. First get the rosé, 20 minutes later the menu. If you stay sharp, things could turn out to be bad.

It’s expensive for what you get! Also the service is not the nicest, unfortunately. We went to Teds for a date night. We had a starter, main and dessert each. Starters: ceviche was super sour, lacked balancing, prawns - 5 pieces for €13,50 and the intestine was not removed 🥲😭 Mains: pasta vongole was OK, could be less fatty, lams rack - was quite tasty! Desserts: aardbei romanoff and espresso martini - both great! - all very average for such price. Regarding the place - it looks nice, but was better in times of Eendracht. Service - BAD. There was 1 person on the shift who delivered good experience. The rest ignored me just bc I spoke English- they didn’t even look at me anymore - but were directly addressing my Dutch speaking partner. The place is nice with a great location but sadly there is A LOT to improve. I hope next time there will be better!

Food was good/average. Price/quality not in proportion. Staff and service poor. Catering is a host/hostess, little noticed. The difference between a cognac/shot glass is hard to find! Back to (catering) school and know the norms and values.

At the moment: 1 major drama. This is mainly due to the staff/service. There are only (?) young people employed (you don't see people aged 30+) and they do not have the overview and skills to arrange everything properly, both during the day and in the evening. When you enter you are not greeted (not that bad) but they start doing other things. Very annoying. You simply cannot forget guests (inside, front, back, terrace). Service makes your tent. PLEASE resolve this quickly. In addition, the food: excellent, quite tasty. Huge price. A piece of cheesecake (really 1 mini slice, see photos of Carla) for 6.50. To cry. A 'piscine de prosecco' (pool of prosecco) is literally just 1 glass of prosecco. The reason according to the young waiter: there are 'tutorials' behind the bar and we have to stick to them. STOP WITH ME. An apple juice (from a bottle): 4 euros! Espresso Martini: is tasty. 8 euros is a normal price. Glass is okay. Conclusion: you're really annoyed. Where is the Eendracht manager? Can he step in and tighten the place up again in terms of staff? Your staff should not chat at the bar or eat themselves (in view of the guests) when people are waiting. DO SOMETHING. Hopefully it will be better in a few months. Maarssen is ready for a nice, fresh tent. There is potential.

Sandwiches arrived late, starter soup was not received, then the hamburgers arrived and he had placed the soup as a main course, it was Tom kai hai, glass of orange juice half full, small amount of wine in glass. The burgers full of sinews and cold, fries hard and chewy and cold! Service asks me what to do with the soup, or if I wanted it with my hamburger. Of course we didn't want that...he would take the soup off the bill, which was not done when paying...by the way, the checkered black and white floor was extremely dirty, cutlery was under the cleanly laid table.
