i was served raw chicken, and when i told them and they cooked it again, the outside was burnt and the inside was still raw. their excuse; “that's the marinade”. i cook chicken with marinade regularly and i can guarantee you that no marinade makes the chicken that pink on the inside. it was raw. then admit it because this is simply unsafe for food.

The location is a side street of the Grote Markt but don't let that stop you from visiting this gem. Sweet and correct service and the food is delicious.

If you are looking for an unforgettable dining experience, Thaicoon is definitely recommended. Where else do you get the chance to find a staple in your food and almost put it in your mouth? An extra crunchy surprise, especially for the adventurous eater! The service? Sublimely bad. A half-baked "sorry" was apparently sufficient, because I did not have to expect any leniency. No, just pay full price for a dish that seemed to have been prepared on an office floor rather than in a kitchen. And if you still want to settle after this experience, prepare for a financial obstacle course. Pin? No, that's for the weak. Here you can pay either in cash or with a QR code. Handy if you happen to be stuck in the year 2015. In short: highly recommended if you want to ruin your evening and lose your confidence in the catering industry forever. Enjoy your meal! 🤡

I went with my family for an occasion with reservation, yet they did not honor the reservation. They just gave a blatant sorry, embarrassing us. All they had to say was "you are misinformed". Then why would you send me the reservation confirmation. This is extremely unprofessional and mismanagement.

Had dinner yesterday with a friend. I worked in a Thai restaurant for years and realized in this restaurant how much I missed that. The food was really delicious! I'm not a fan of the (red) lighting in the restaurant, but the rest was perfect. Nice nice service, good food and everything was clean (both restaurant and toilets). I hardly ever come to Almere, but I do know that if I am in Almere again I will come back here.

I have never actually eaten in the restaurant here, but always order takeout. The only annoying thing is that you can't use PIN or Paypal. As a result, I cannot order for business purposes if we work overtime again. But their food is 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 their fish cakes are really the best!

Very pleasant service, we were with someone who had a stomach reduction and she made no problem of anything, took a combined starter and then she ate with us for a bit. Really delicious food, it was very quiet so a little less atmosphere. The toilets are neat, spotless and very attractive, all in all a great highlight. We will definitely come back!!

Food poisoning Although we have often enjoyed and enjoyed delicious meals at Thaicoon, my wife suffered food poisoning there last Friday. I had meat that night. She a mixed seafood dish. It's annoying that it happens, but we found Thaicoon's response very disappointing. At first it was not understood, then it was said to be a shellfish allergy, then others had eaten the same thing and had no problems, and then it was said to have been something different that day, because it could not have been Thaicoon's fault. Our daughter is a GP and she diagnosed classic food poisoning. After about 3 or 4 hours of eating there, she started vomiting and then progressed to diarrhea. In the days that followed, the vomiting/diarrhea was gone, but she still had the aftermath. As a restaurant you have a responsibility to your customers. Thaicoon was called three times and not once was she asked how she was. Thaicoon denies that she could have contracted the food poisoning there, but still refunded € 21.90 for the fish dish (out of a total bill of € 77). We believe that you should take such a report seriously and that returning the entire bill for a failed dinner is the least necessary. We have reported it to the NVWA.

Best Thai in Almere. The green curry tastes exactly like we ate in Thailand.

Update 25-03-2024. Picked up a few times now. The food is so delicious. The containers are packed with quantities. The employees are also super nice. Believe me, you have to go to this restaurant for delicious Thai food. We (normally) come here regularly. The food is simply delicious. The service is very friendly. Strange that it is not much busier here because it is one of the best Thai restaurants in the Netherlands that I know.

March 21 on Thursday evening we had a delicious meal with 3 elderly women, you could choose sweet or spicy food, only main dishes, it was enough and tasty. Nice and friendly service. Highly recommended, a cozy and quiet dining opportunity.

Very friendly and responsive staff, who were able to accurately estimate how many dishes we needed. The food was delicious. Authentic and well priced for the nice portions. I'll come again when I'm in the area.

Sadly I cannot rate the food. We booked some days in advance and when we arrived there (on time) they did not have our table. They said it was their mistake but offered no solution other than coming later (30 minutes at least but no assurance) and take our chances. Very disappointed.

We had a delicious meal here! We only took a main course. The portions are large, so enough to enjoy. The service was very friendly and we received good help here. It is nicely decorated, but not very attractive. We had missed the sign (which is clearly stated upon entry) that you cannot pay by card here. So that's good to take into account! You can transfer the money.

Heerlijk gegeten. Aardig personeel. Veel verschillende gerechten. Houd rekening dat je niet kan pinnen.

Hier twee weken geleden gegeten met vijf mensen onderweg naar Amsterdam. Daar we op tijd zaten, kozen we slechts voor een hoofdgerecht. De gerechten zagen er kleurrijk en smakelijk uit. Ik had wel het idee dat alle schotels bijna opelkaar leken. De smaak was oké, de bekende Thaise geuren en specerijen deden ons genieten van het eten. Het is echter niet het allerlekkerste Thais eten wat ik ooit heb gegeten. De bediening was vriendelijk. Wij hadden doorgegeven dat wij haast hadden, onze gerechten kwamen dan ook vrij vlot op tafel. In dit restaurant kon toen niet gepind worden. Niet vanwege een storing, ze hadden gewoon geen pinappaart. Het verschuldigde bedrag moest via een tikkie overgemaakt worden. Een beetje vreemd voor een restaurant. Als vegetariër heb je hier niet veel keuze. Vrijwel alle gerechten zijn op basis van vlees of vis. Er staat ook nergens op het menukaart vermeld dat eventueel vegetarische opties mogelijk zijn.

Sowieso beste Thaise restaurant van Almere, maar ook de beste van Nederland !! Zeer fijne smaken en altijd verrassend. Zeer vriendelijke keuken en bediening Hier eten voelt altijd als een warm bad.

Eten is smaakvol, grote porties en absurd goedkoop. 2 porties voldoende voor 3-4 personen. Geweldige bediening. Wij komen volgende week weer 🍀

Heerlijke "Thai" Almere boft hiermee! Zit alleen een beetje 'uit de loop' van t centrum, maar dit is misschien wel gunstig....

Eten was echt niet lekker. Gebakken rijst was echt heel plakkerig. Ik had vis in zoet zure saus, de vis was echt te zout. Ik zou hier zelf niet nog een keer komen helaas. De bediening was wel heel goed.

Wir waren schon dreimal im Taicoon essen und immer sehr zufrieden.Das Essen ist superlecker, die Portionen haben eine angenehme Größe, und es wird auf Sonderwünsche (Schärfe) eingegangen.Der Service ist sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und schnell.Wir hatten Penang Koong und Srimps mit Cashew Nüssen und können es nur empfehlen.

Geniaal bedacht☺️ Het was even een gok, want niet iedereen van ons gezelschap houdt van pittig eten en dat is natuurlijk wel waar de Thaise keuken om bekend staat. Maar ze hadden pech, het was immers mijn verjaardag dus ik mocht kiezen. Op de kaart wordt met pepertjes duidelijk gemaakt hoe pittig het gerecht is. Heel handig voor iedereen die niet bekend is met de gerechten. We hebben er allemaal heerlijk gegeten en de bediening was geweldig. Het waren grote porties en niet iedereen kreeg dat op. We kregen direct het aanbod om wat er over was gebleven mee naar huis te nemen. Zeker een plek om weer eens terug te komen om wat anders te proberen.

Beste Thaise restaurant ever !! Hele fijne smaken, echt heel erg lekker, en geef vooral aan wat je lekker vind qua spicy .. ze passen het graag voor je aan. Hele vriendelijke bediening, alles draait om een hele fijne eetbeleving. Aan meerdere vrienden aangeraden, en ze zijn allemaal vaste klant geworden.

Super goed eten met een range van mild tot zeer scherp. Heerlijk, vers en rijk aan smaak. Betalen contant of per bank.

Met ze 3tjes gegeten. Mooi restaurant, 5 tafels bezet nog 45 min moeten wachten op ons eten. Weinig smaak in de gerechten, zag er wel mooi uit. Is niet echt wat we gewend zijn van een thai. 2 van de 3 hebben last van buikkrampen. (Geen probleem met het spicy food) Helaas 1 x en niet meer.

Even het vakantiegevoel terughalen van de reis van vorig jaar. Heerlijke Pad Krapauw gegeten, extra pittig gevraagd en dit was zeker het geval. Smaak, bediening, het klopte allemaal.

Hele mooie locatie. Goeie service. Aardige mensen, en het belangrijkste: Heerlijk eten! Smaakt zoals in Thailand.
