Small restaurant, reservations recommended. Beautiful, delicious dishes. Try 2-3 courses for dinner and a delicious dessert afterward. The mocktails are also surprisingly delicious, though a bit pricey.

The service deserves 5 stars. You might like the ambiance and decor, but you don't have to. For my taste, it's an over-the-top attempt to create an Asian flair. If you want Asian food (good or bad), go to an Asian restaurant. Here, you'll get anything but. The food was consistently disappointing.

We had a truly delicious meal. My partner and I were here for the first time, and what a lovely little place this is! It's a nice, small place, and not too crowded inside. The cocktails were delicious and not too pricey. The shared dining experience was also great; we tried everything and even ordered a few dishes a second time because they were simply too good! 🩷 If you want to sit inside, it's recommended to make a reservation, as there are very few tables. We really appreciated this, as it allows you to eat in peace and quiet without it being overcrowded (and also in terms of conversation).

The food is the most savory I've ever had at a restaurant in this country, really. It tastes almost like my mama's food 😋 There are some points to get better though, like the fried things which were extremely oily (probably the oil wasn't in the correct temperature) and the biefstuk which was rare and nobody had asked us our favorite doneness (I find rare meat disgusting, so my husband ate it but he said it was not special), besides that I have nothing to complain about all the rest of the food, just compliments. I wasn't expecting that much flavor at a Dutch restaurant. However I did got disappointed with the presentation of the concept. I thought we'd have food we could share (like it's advertised by them), but the plates weren't mostly really shareable. We asked for soup and we got one portion, in *one bowl*. Not smaller bowls we could all get some soup in, for example. We asked for a plate with bao bun and shrimp, it all came in *one sandwich*. Not in smaller pieces of bao bun, each with one shrimp, for example. Also it's expensive for the amount of food served. We spent €67/person and we weren't satisfied. The table service was acceptable. So.. Drinks and food are really tasty, but it's not a place we'll keep going to.

Where do I begin? It started with a reservation, which I made by phone. I spoke to a very sweet and kind woman on the phone. I began by telling her my wife and I that we had been together for 30 years that day, and we wanted to celebrate there in Hoorn, 193km from my home in Limburg. When we arrived that day, the woman was busy outside on the terrace. She saw us approaching and immediately recognized us as the man and woman who had made the reservation. The welcome and the conversation we had made us feel right at home. What an incredibly beautifully decorated lunchroom, warmly decorated, and top-notch service, and the wonderful thoughts she gave us that day. That's why I was allowed to mention your name, Lillian, if I spelled it correctly. Thank you again for the wonderful hours we spent with you. Decent food, nice desert, but worst service experience in years. Avoid this place if you care about service! First of all, 45 minutes before the kitchen closed, my wife and I entered and asked if we could sit at a window seat. We were refused because it was a table for 4 (actually a 2x2 so the waitress could have separated the tables). There were 3 other tables for 4 (2x2) left empty… So we sat down at a table for two. It’s a shared dining concept so the table got filled with plates. The waitress, allthough passing by several times, did not remove the empty plates. We put one finished plate at the empty table next to ours. The waitress asked us quite rudely and loud if we could not do that again. After that she started discussing this issue with her colleague behind the bar while orher guests and us could hear it. We would recommend a hospitality course for the employees.

Tasty food with plenty of vegan and non-vegan options. Very big menu with mocktails and other drinks.

A great lunch spot with a surprising menu. The okonomiyaki was quite authentic and tasted great. The Hawaiian smoothie is also highly recommended.

We won't be back. The service was friendly, the interior is beautiful, and the outdoor space, right in the middle of the market, is also great. We were looking forward to a ramen, but were unfortunately disappointed. The meat was basically a sliced meatball? It didn't taste bad, but it was far from a good ramen, and unfortunately, the portion was small for €14.50. It's a shame.

We didn't like the food. Tacos filled with something white and unappetizing. Small amount of salmon in it. The tacos were in a small metal holder which looked uninviting. And above all everything was served cold. The noodles were also cold. That all the food was cold, unfortunately the staff had not communicated that in advance.

Not worth the price at all, the food was quite bland and did not have any flavor whatsoever. The beef teriyaki was chewy, meanwhile the salmon tacos tasted simply like oil. I never ever thought that salmon could taste like nothing, but here we are. Baobuns were decent, and the drinks were good.

Everything was good and the desserts were really excellent!

After several cocktails we ask for water from the tap. It is indicated that it is ok. It will be on the receipt later. They indicate that their water is from the tap but is filtered. This is not nice and they should have indicated it right away when we literally asked for it. They indicated that it is in the menu and they are not going to do anything about it. Not good service.

Bamboo restaurant in Hoorn, Netherlands is located in the town square. It is a nice place to eat, you eat Japanese food. This place offers great food, good, fast service and value for money.

Fantastic food, ditto cocktails and a very attractive interior. In particular, the rendang croquettes, the salmon tempura taco and the sticky iberico fingers were truly delicious.

Wandered in and were immediately met with enthusiasm. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. 10/10 would recommend!!!

Nicely decorated, not super spacious but sufficient. Delicious cocktails, ditto food. Even if you are not very hungry, you can get something tasty here for a good price. Friendly fast service!

Super cozy restaurant with good service and delicious food! There were 4 of us, including 1 child of 2.5 years old. The high chair was ready and she even got a small gift to play with. Everything was arranged well and quickly by the friendly service. We really had a wonderful evening dining out, as did our daughter! Lots of choice for vegans, absolutely great! We will definitely come back here.

Yesterday we ate for the first time at the Bamboo Room in Hoorn. Very nice place with a nice atmosphere and very good and fast service. The food (Bao Buns, Peanut Soup and the Chicken Baras) tasted very good! We will definitely come back here!

We had two dishes, which were surprisingly small for the price. The vegan sushi tacos were tasty, the other dish was okish. Lemonades were 150/200 ml for 4€ each. Well, judging from the „friendly“ service this restaurant would like to be more than it actually is, and already priced accordingly.

Service was pretty horrible, the waitress with a smell of arrogance. The portions were quite small and you'd need 2 portions of everything to get full. Atmosphere is okay.

30th of July in the evening I came to the restaurant with my friends. The lady who served told us kitchen is closed we can't order main dishes but we can order snacks. We were very hungry so we ordered snacks and drinks. We were waiting for our drinks and snacks and the lady told us there no snacks because the kitchen is closed. Then I asked her why don't you tell me about it at beginning The lady at the bar refused to serve drinks for us we waited about 20m. She was very very rude. This is was worst experience I had in a restaurant. Very bad customer service.

Cozy place, friendly staff and delicious food! If I may give one tip, our experience was that it took a long time for staff to come to the tables, not just ours, and I noticed that many people had to ask themselves (while it was not very busy). But we will definitely come back!

Great vegan food, the servers are nice and i really enjoyed the food and drinks. If you love gin you really need to try the pink cloud. Cannot wait to go again.

Had a delicious meal here for the 2nd time! I came back for the dessert I had eaten the first time, namely the vegan chocolate caramel carre. This was so good, in addition to the fact that the other dishes were also very good, that I wanted to go there again. The quality of the food is very good and the dishes were all very tasty. The service is very friendly and even though it was busy, the pace was good and I never had to wait long. My friend had the passion fruit cheesecake for dessert, I sometimes eat in a Michelin star restaurant, this dessert was so good that it was on par! Hats off on all levels!

When I talk about soul food, it is more than just the food itself. Both of us have been craving for ramen and saw the bamboo room offers it. Since we're on an errand to Hoorn, we seek out what is delicious homemade yummy soul food. As we travelled more than 2 hours to Hoorn, our first time. A true genuine space, anywhere, is the energy, vibes of the owner and how they create it. We met the owner, full of joy. It's not easy to run a food business as I'd partake helping out in my aunt's hawker food before. Though we can only grab a quick bite, ramen noodles, leaving our stomach, satisfied, comforted, filled our hunger and on with our errands. Keep up your joyful spirit and if we do come by again, we love to try your mock- or cocktail. The lists in the menu just brings me memories of my younger days where I enjoyed with good friends back in my own birth place. 🙏❤️💃🏻

The food is really delicious, nice (and enough) vegan options. However, you have to order quite a few dishes to be able to eat enough, which increases the costs considerably. Two people eat and 2 radler + 1 bitter lemon and you can pay €72.40, this is without dessert.

It's always a pleasure to eat here... No matter how often I eat the Miso pork belly, I can't get enough of it 🫣, unfortunately I have to distance myself from it with the arrival of the new menu. To my dismay, it is no longer there. Of course there are a lot of other great choices, but this was my favorite! The atmosphere is always great and the service is always pleasant and friendly. We'll be back soon! Because it's just super tasty and fun!

Nice location, we ordered drinks & food, after delivering the first dish, my companion had to wait 45 minutes for her dish without any announcement from staff. And that while 2 tables were occupied both inside and outside. Apparently normal?

My first ramen experience, and I'm in love. I didn't know you could taste so many exquisite flavours in one bite! The Pink Pigeon drink was a refreshing curiosity. Great staff and cosy atmosphere to top it off. Thank you, guys

Nice small cozy restaurant with a heated outdoor terrace. With good and delicious food and very friendly staff. And they also have an extensive drinks menu. The restaurant is located in the heart of Hoorn on the Roode Steen, a very cozy and attractive square.

Nice, atmospheric place. Service was fast and friendly. The small varied dishes were very tasty. We even ordered the iberico rib fingers twice! The P**nstar Crème Brûlée is also highly recommended. There are also many vegan options.

Came in on Saturday after lunch but well before dinner time, but managed to get served a heartwarming vegan peanut soup and fried tofu sandwich. Will be coming again (from Amsterdam) to try the dinner menu.

Echt heerlijk gegeten, alles was lekker en ook verrassend. Smaken en texturen van de vegan gerechten waren super. En het dessert met o.a. creme brulee, ijs en een schuim van passievrucht was een van de beste smakencombi's die ik ooit at. Hier komen wij zeker terug!

Fabulous flavorful Asian fusion menu (with a kick!) enhanced by a nice cocktail and wine menu (although I'd love to see a Painkiller on the list!), good service and a big terrace under the trees. We sail quite often to Hoorn and have come to this cute place nearly every time we come. This menu is the best iteration yet. As a Floridian who misses her tiki bars this one scratches that itch. Don't miss it! September 2023 update: still a great place. Excellent tropical cocktails, nice broad menu with creative dishes, big vegan selection, good service, warmed terrace and blankts for the cool autumn nights.

Geweldig gegeten. Heb een glute intolerantie. Dat ik binnen kwam. Zag ik op de allergie kaart 5 gerechten staan. En me man zei. Nou als ze allemaal lekker zijn. Dan zit je goed. Heb 3 gerechten geproefd. En zo lekker. De bediening is fantastisch. Wij komen zeker terug. Groetjes Marco en Anneke

Heerlijk eten, ook voor mijn jongste zoon van 8 jaar. We hebben verschillende gerechten en nagerechten gehad en alles was even lekker! Fijne, rustige bediening en mooi plekje op het terras in het prachtige Hoorn.

Oprecht goed eten voor een leuke prijs. Gerechten zijn goed aangekleed en de smaak is erg goed. Weer eens wat anders dan de "standaard" eetgelegenheden. Een aanrader voor wanneer je eens wat anders wilt. Op de foto de Chicken Bara's. Kruidige surinaamse Bara's met kip massala. Ook veel Vegan keuze.

Leuke plek, mooie locatie en gezellige sfeer. Gerechtjes zijn erg lekker maar wel wat aan de kleine kant. Daarom heb je per persoon wel een aantal gerechten nodig voordat je vol zit. Zelf deden we met een groepje van 4 gerechtjes delen zodat het meer een shared dining concept wordt. Cocktails vielen erg in de smaak. Desserts waren ook erg lekker!

Many vegan options including Surinamese Bruine Bonen and my favorite filled Bara’s as pictured here. Coffee and Chai Latte are also very tasty!

Gewoon erg goed en mooi plekje!

Heerlijk gegeten in een heel gezellig restaurant met super vriendelijk personeel. Als je meerdere rondes bestelt, is het prijzig. De gerechtjes zijn heel fijn van smaak inclusief de toetjes, echt super lekker.

Super vriendelijke bediening. Uiterst behulpzaam en geduldig. We vonden een drinkglas mooi en kregen een kaartje met daarop het merk van het glas en waar je het kunt kopen. We kregen een extra bordje zodat we konden delen.

Op deze zonnige voorjaarsdag zaten de terrassen aan De Roode Steen gezellig vol. Nog een mooi plekje gevonden op het terras van The Bamboo Room. Leuke zaak. Vriendelijke en snelle bediening. Glas wijn wel behoorlijk aan de prijs, zeker omdat er zuinigjes geschonken werd. Heerlijke vega massala kroketjes.

Als je echt vol wilt zitten mag je wel diep in de buidel tasten. De gerechtjes zijn echt klein voor het geld. Heb vaker gegeten bij dit soort tentjes met kleine hapjes, maar dan ligt de gemiddelde prijs rond de 7 a 8 euro, en hier lag de prijs rond de 11 euro. En dan krijg je ook maar 2 spiesjes voor. Voor de taco’s betaal je 12 euro maar die zijn ook heel magertjes gevuld. Je mist wat bijgerechten om het aan te vullen. Wat meer groentes, rijst of patat zou fijn zijn. Als je patatjes wilt bestellen kost dat ook al 6,5 euro. Voor niet een mega grote bak patat. En als er op de kaart bites staat en dishes, verwacht je ook een verschil in portie. Maar dat is er dus niet. Wij zijn achteraf nog naar de mc donalds gegaan.Dus niet voor herhaling vatbaar voor ons. Ik zie ook net op de bon dat een mocktail gewoon even duur is als een cocktail! Ook best wel krom!

Even een hele andere lunch met overheerlijke gerechten.

Fantastisch gegeten! Eten is heerlijk. Fijn voor mensen met een allergie, de kaart is duidelijk en het personeel weet precies wat er in de gerechten zit. Bediening is erg vriendelijk. Aanrader!
