The Breakfast Club in Zuidas

Very average coffee at the price of a specialty one. We also found the food quite average and the music was too loud. When we asked the staff to lower the volume to we were told it is not possible and controlled by the office 😆 ... Best to head to another coffee / breakfast place nearby - not recommended except maybe for a beer.

Had a good time, but the eggs were a bit hard and the overall dish was quite dry. Also my coconut matcha was salty for some reason. I think it’s overpriced for the quality.

The food was tasty. Nothing wrong with that! However, the service was really very bad. We sat down and no one came over to take our order on their own. Eventually, we had to walk inside to order after a long time. Even when we wanted to order something else, we had to go inside. No one came to pay either. They also didn't ask if we enjoyed it or anything.

Charming breakfast hub stone throw from zuid station right at the corner of the street, lovely warm decor with ample seating types , the staff are very friendly, and must say in love with their huge chunk of egg scramble , very yummy and perfect soft carrot cake.

Absolutely rude behavior from waitress today. We wanted to have breakfast on the terrace and she asked us to sit where tables for 2 are. We moved but i said it’s very windy from AC there so i asked whether we could move back, and the other waitress confirmed. When we moved back - the first rude waitress came back and kicked us out. Very unfortunate and disgusting behavior.

Unfortunately, everything was overpriced. Many things cost extra, which I haven't experienced in other cafes/restaurants. The service was okay, but nothing more. We had the croissant with scrambled eggs and avocado, but there were only three slices of avocado on it; I expected more.

Everything I tried here was really delicious. I absolutely loved the Pineapple French Toast 😋🫶 The staff is also very friendly and welcoming.

The Egg Benedict and pancake were very tasty. The staff was very friendly. The chef also kept a close eye on whether the orders were being served correctly. Cozy, informal atmosphere and nicely decorated. A bit cramped with a stroller, but a nice place for breakfast/brunch.

We had a brunch at this restaurant and it decent with good portions and a variety of choice , the staff was nice , the vibe was quite good .

On Sunday afternoon, I sat here with family, including 3 small children. The kids were sweet, not screaming, and walked around in circles with supervision (up the stairs and back down). The waitress with black hair who speaks English was already unfriendly and came over to us just before we left to indicate in an unfriendly tone that we had to keep our children with us. The customers were not bothered by us, it was not busy, and the children were cheerful so they weren't screaming. Service a 1, I will never come back here.

The food was the highlight, the prices are good for Amsterdam Zuid. But they serve room temperature prosecco and the smell of the kitchen is really hard to wash off the clothes.

Quick service but thats about it, egg benedict looked good but was cold, the bread under it was also cold and very chewy, coffee as well not so great. Good location but not worth the price.

Great breakfast, lovely quality food, good menu selection and always a nice atmosphere. On this occasion the service was a bit hard work, you needed one of those massive foam hand things to wave about to have any chance of getting the waitresses attention! She was pretty skilled at ignoring people! Otherwise, recommended.

Amazing place for breakfast or brunch, 2 minutes walk from zuid station . Reservation is not available walk in only . Food is great, staff are friendly and speak fluent English. They have English menu too. As it’s very busy staff are somehow slow but their smile and friendly behavior makes you forgive them for the slow service. I usually go for breakfast and have no idea is the service gets better noon time as it is not as busy as the morning. The fresh orange juice is amazing delicious and if you are a coffee drinker it comes hot as it is served in top 5 stars cafes.

Great breakfast (Club Sandwich and Avocado Toast with Bacon), excellent service, and in our case, everything was delivered quickly. The only thing I'd like to avoid is the paper on the plate. You cut it, and if you're not careful, it ends up on your fork.

I’m a regular here and always enjoy coming back. The place is very cozy, the service is great, and the food is outstanding.

I choose the 'have em your way' fried eggs on gluten free bread and a tea. Portion sizes were decent, and I was really happy with the gluten free bread. Edit: Came back for the scrambled eggs with toast, also tasted very good

I come back here regularly. The service is good, but today was at its best! There were three ladies there, all doing their best to be helpful. They were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious too! Today is definitely a reason to come back more often.

Cute place with good coffee, but the service was slow.

The space and atmosphere are nice, but the servers didn’t even come to take our order for about 10-15 minutes after we sat down. The eggs were cold, the muffin was a bit stale, and not only do they not do substitutions, they won’t even change from fried to scrambled eggs, you have to order a completely separate dish. The entire time, the waitress only visited our table twice (the food was brought by a different person.) the food isn’t gross or anything, and if this is your only option it’s alright, but if possible seek out another spot.

I walk through the rain, to get some breakfast for the family, up on arriving, they tell me today we dont want to do take away. ( cause it busy right now while only 50% of the tables where occupied they always do take away normally) i was talking to an employee who gave me a very arrogant attitude and did not care at all. ( blond hair pony tail,zuidas at 1:44, 1 januari. I use to be a regualar client, from this day i will never come there again.

Our experience here was honestly terrible from start to finish. We arrived before another table, yet we watched their order get taken first. Our waitress walked right past us, and my partner had to stop her after she finished taking the other table’s order. If he hadn’t spoken up, I truly believe she would have continued ignoring us. After our order was finally taken, we waited about 15 minutes and then watched table after table (who arrived after us) receive their food first. I understand food comes out based on the kitchen, but we specifically ordered blueberry pancakes and French toast and we watched at least four plates of pancakes and multiple French toasts go to other tables before ours. We tried to give the benefit of the doubt for nearly 30 minutes. When we finally brought it up to the waitress, she brushed it off and blamed the kitchen. When I explained we had seen the exact same dishes going out to other tables, she just shrugged. At that point, I said we would pay for our drinks and leave. When we went downstairs to pay, she bumped into me, hit my purse, and didn’t even acknowledge it no “excuse me,” nothing. Completely disrespectful. Absolutely disgusting service. If I could give this place a negative rating, I would. There are far too many restaurants in Amsterdam with better food, better service, and basic respect for customers. We will never return.

I was very hungry and dizzy and wanted something to go. I was willing to wait. I had a crazy morning. I got rejected because it was too busy. For zuidas this is not acceptable

Asked for a mocha, the staff did not seem to understand but said okay and gave me a matcha. I did not want to waste any energy arguing so just rolled with it. But the matcha wasn't very good either. So that's that! But the blueberry pancakes are decent.

Highly recommended if you're an American feeling a little homesick or wanting some familiar flavors. The New York pancakes were just as good as home (and in some ways better); the cappuccino made me homesick in a way I've never felt before and truly, truly tasted like home to me. Everything about this experience was warm and pleasant, especially on such a rainy day.

Food is very good, but stuff need some improve :) when you ask chicken burger for small child, but stuff don’t say anything about chilli sauce on top of chicken, simple need one word or recommendation to put sauce separate

During our visit to Amsterdam, we had breakfast and brunch here on two days. A reservation wasn't necessary. The atmosphere was pleasant and the servers were friendly.

The chicken was cold inside, and the waffle was too sweet for a chicken waffle. The 2nd floor smelled bad like polluted water. Staff were kind and the service was fast tho.

The menu had such funny combinations that I would never have thought of myself, but it just worked well. I had one with egg and pancake together, thought that was strange, but it was super tasty. The coffee could have been stronger, but otherwise it was nice.

A really great place for breakfast or lunch, with something for everyone on the menu. We had the vegan mango hummus sandwich and the French toast. Welcoming atmosphere and excellent service.

I just ordered two coffees, which was amazing because before I even ordered them, one was already ready for me. It's unbelievable, as if she knew what I wanted before I even ordered it. Of course not, I just got a stale coffee shot with frothed milk that was already there! When I asked if I could have a fresh coffee, she clearly thought it was excessive. Reluctantly, she got to work. When the coffee was ready, she put it on the counter and walked away.

A must-see in Amsterdam for breakfast and lunch..... Great quality and good price!!! ...but...the drinks aren't that cheap (€3.80 for a 200ml bottle of soda). Highly recommended!!

A pleasant experience. The service was impeccable and the staff extremely friendly, especially the waitress Chiara, who was always available, smiling, and attentive to the customers' needs. The food was prepared with great care; every element of the dish had a distinctive flavor and a noticeable freshness! P.S. The place was a bit warm without air conditioning (it was August 12th, and we were seated right by the window).

The brunch/breakfast here is really good! Generous portions and everything tasted great. However, the service could be improved. The waitress told me she’d bring a high chair for my nephew, but it arrived half an hour later — and I could see them from behind the counter. The place wasn’t busy, but she was chatting with her colleagues instead. Not a huge deal, but it didn’t feel very considerate, especially for a kid that needed his seat! So... Come for the food yeah but place is not kids friendly from my point of view.

One of the worst place I’ve been. Horrible service and rude barista. I’ve been there few times. One time I was there nobody came to take my order as they were talking. Second time, I was there. I ask for a cappuccino and the barista was talking with a colleague and my cappuccino was delivered almost after 10 minutes. Today was the worst time. I went there and ask for cappuccino and the girl didn’t even calcolate me. One colleague told here “you have a guest” She reply “I clock out” so is the other person business now. This is the same girl that serve me all the time. It’s horrible service. The owners should really check the people who are serving and working. Very unprofessional and rude staff.

We went today for a brunch and had avo toast and asked for gf bread. It s nice that they had it but the bread was like a piece of chunk, unfortunately, it would be better if they said sorry we dont have gf bread. Avo spread on avo toast was just too little and they have put only 1 egg on 2 slices of bread. The tomato didnt even taste lime a tomato. In general, it had a serious lack of taste. It didnt even look yummy and we paid 13.5 for that plate.

I had a really disappointing experience at The Breakfast Club Zuid. I don’t even mind that my food never arrived—mistakes happen—but the attitude of one staff member completely ruined my visit. I waited for an hour, only to realize my order was never even in the system. In the meantime, I was freezing because the door was open, so I politely asked a kind waitress if it was okay to close it. She agreed and closed it for me. A few minutes later, a male staff member started yelling at her for doing so, saying it was too hot inside. She looked so uncomfortable and ended up asking me to move upstairs, which I did. By the time I realized my food still hadn’t arrived, an hour had passed. When I asked about my order, I found out it hadn’t even been placed. I left both hungry and upset—not just because of the mistake, but because a staff member was treated so poorly in front of customers. I used to be a regular at The Breakfast Club, but this was my first time at the Zuid branch. Safe to say, it will also be my last. I hope management prioritizes not just good service for customers, but also respect among their own staff.

I was excited to order the California Eggs Benedict but was very disappointed with the taste. It was supposed to be an English muffin, but instead there was something more like a thick pancake. It was generally pretty bland and the avocado mash didn't taste as good (like the store bought ones). Otherwise, the service was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. My friend said she enjoyed her banana coconut pancakes.

What a rotten place. Food and drinks are severely overpriced. Moreover, the employees are only concerned with themselves, customers are unfortunately not a priority... Thanks for the waste of time (and money). I'll never come back here again. You're better off going to McDonalds.

Great lunch, until we found a hard piece of plastic in the salmon sandwich. After mentioning it, we were offered one drink, but the sandwich was not taken off the bill. When we made a comment about this, we were told that the sandwich was almost finished when we found the piece of plastic. The waitress was very friendly and clearly couldn't change the situation. But the manager/executive was sitting a few tables further discussing our bill but took no further responsibility and let the waitress solve everything. In short, great place but inadequate service in cases like this.
