The Breakfast Club in Zuidas

Our experience here was honestly terrible from start to finish. We arrived before another table, yet we watched their order get taken first. Our waitress walked right past us, and my partner had to stop her after she finished taking the other table’s order. If he hadn’t spoken up, I truly believe she would have continued ignoring us. After our order was finally taken, we waited about 15 minutes and then watched table after table (who arrived after us) receive their food first. I understand food comes out based on the kitchen, but we specifically ordered blueberry pancakes and French toast and we watched at least four plates of pancakes and multiple French toasts go to other tables before ours. We tried to give the benefit of the doubt for nearly 30 minutes. When we finally brought it up to the waitress, she brushed it off and blamed the kitchen. When I explained we had seen the exact same dishes going out to other tables, she just shrugged. At that point, I said we would pay for our drinks and leave. When we went downstairs to pay, she bumped into me, hit my purse, and didn’t even acknowledge it no “excuse me,” nothing. Completely disrespectful. Absolutely disgusting service. If I could give this place a negative rating, I would. There are far too many restaurants in Amsterdam with better food, better service, and basic respect for customers. We will never return.

I was very hungry and dizzy and wanted something to go. I was willing to wait. I had a crazy morning. I got rejected because it was too busy. For zuidas this is not acceptable

Asked for a mocha, the staff did not seem to understand but said okay and gave me a matcha. I did not want to waste any energy arguing so just rolled with it. But the matcha wasn't very good either. So that's that! But the blueberry pancakes are decent.

I can enjoy my meal while taking in the wonderful view. The food is delicious as I expected

Highly recommended if you're an American feeling a little homesick or wanting some familiar flavors. The New York pancakes were just as good as home (and in some ways better); the cappuccino made me homesick in a way I've never felt before and truly, truly tasted like home to me. Everything about this experience was warm and pleasant, especially on such a rainy day.

Food is very good, but stuff need some improve :) when you ask chicken burger for small child, but stuff don’t say anything about chilli sauce on top of chicken, simple need one word or recommendation to put sauce separate

During our visit to Amsterdam, we had breakfast and brunch here on two days. A reservation wasn't necessary. The atmosphere was pleasant and the servers were friendly.

The chicken was cold inside, and the waffle was too sweet for a chicken waffle. The 2nd floor smelled bad like polluted water. Staff were kind and the service was fast tho.

The menu had such funny combinations that I would never have thought of myself, but it just worked well. I had one with egg and pancake together, thought that was strange, but it was super tasty. The coffee could have been stronger, but otherwise it was nice.

A really great place for breakfast or lunch, with something for everyone on the menu. We had the vegan mango hummus sandwich and the French toast. Welcoming atmosphere and excellent service.

I just ordered two coffees, which was amazing because before I even ordered them, one was already ready for me. It's unbelievable, as if she knew what I wanted before I even ordered it. Of course not, I just got a stale coffee shot with frothed milk that was already there! When I asked if I could have a fresh coffee, she clearly thought it was excessive. Reluctantly, she got to work. When the coffee was ready, she put it on the counter and walked away.

A must-see in Amsterdam for breakfast and lunch..... Great quality and good price!!! ...but...the drinks aren't that cheap (€3.80 for a 200ml bottle of soda). Highly recommended!!

This was a wonderful start to our weekend in Amsterdam for my girlfriend and me. A super delicious breakfast and very friendly staff...highly recommended.

A pleasant experience. The service was impeccable and the staff extremely friendly, especially the waitress Chiara, who was always available, smiling, and attentive to the customers' needs. The food was prepared with great care; every element of the dish had a distinctive flavor and a noticeable freshness! P.S. The place was a bit warm without air conditioning (it was August 12th, and we were seated right by the window).

The brunch/breakfast here is really good! Generous portions and everything tasted great. However, the service could be improved. The waitress told me she’d bring a high chair for my nephew, but it arrived half an hour later — and I could see them from behind the counter. The place wasn’t busy, but she was chatting with her colleagues instead. Not a huge deal, but it didn’t feel very considerate, especially for a kid that needed his seat! So... Come for the food yeah but place is not kids friendly from my point of view.

One of the worst place I’ve been. Horrible service and rude barista. I’ve been there few times. One time I was there nobody came to take my order as they were talking. Second time, I was there. I ask for a cappuccino and the barista was talking with a colleague and my cappuccino was delivered almost after 10 minutes. Today was the worst time. I went there and ask for cappuccino and the girl didn’t even calcolate me. One colleague told here “you have a guest” She reply “I clock out” so is the other person business now. This is the same girl that serve me all the time. It’s horrible service. The owners should really check the people who are serving and working. Very unprofessional and rude staff.

We went today for a brunch and had avo toast and asked for gf bread. It s nice that they had it but the bread was like a piece of chunk, unfortunately, it would be better if they said sorry we dont have gf bread. Avo spread on avo toast was just too little and they have put only 1 egg on 2 slices of bread. The tomato didnt even taste lime a tomato. In general, it had a serious lack of taste. It didnt even look yummy and we paid 13.5 for that plate.

I had a really disappointing experience at The Breakfast Club Zuid. I don’t even mind that my food never arrived—mistakes happen—but the attitude of one staff member completely ruined my visit. I waited for an hour, only to realize my order was never even in the system. In the meantime, I was freezing because the door was open, so I politely asked a kind waitress if it was okay to close it. She agreed and closed it for me. A few minutes later, a male staff member started yelling at her for doing so, saying it was too hot inside. She looked so uncomfortable and ended up asking me to move upstairs, which I did. By the time I realized my food still hadn’t arrived, an hour had passed. When I asked about my order, I found out it hadn’t even been placed. I left both hungry and upset—not just because of the mistake, but because a staff member was treated so poorly in front of customers. I used to be a regular at The Breakfast Club, but this was my first time at the Zuid branch. Safe to say, it will also be my last. I hope management prioritizes not just good service for customers, but also respect among their own staff.

Avocado toast with spicy topping was unbelievable. Staff was attentive and quick, even though there was a certain amount of crowd.

I was excited to order the California Eggs Benedict but was very disappointed with the taste. It was supposed to be an English muffin, but instead there was something more like a thick pancake. It was generally pretty bland and the avocado mash didn't taste as good (like the store bought ones). Otherwise, the service was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. My friend said she enjoyed her banana coconut pancakes.

What a rotten place. Food and drinks are severely overpriced. Moreover, the employees are only concerned with themselves, customers are unfortunately not a priority... Thanks for the waste of time (and money). I'll never come back here again. You're better off going to McDonalds.

Great lunch, until we found a hard piece of plastic in the salmon sandwich. After mentioning it, we were offered one drink, but the sandwich was not taken off the bill. When we made a comment about this, we were told that the sandwich was almost finished when we found the piece of plastic. The waitress was very friendly and clearly couldn't change the situation. But the manager/executive was sitting a few tables further discussing our bill but took no further responsibility and let the waitress solve everything. In short, great place but inadequate service in cases like this.

Food is good, homemade lemonade is very disappointing. The hygiene of this restaurant could certainly be improved. When entering the toilet, one encounters a puddle of urine on the floor and a large mouse walking around the toilet in the men's toilet. The employees were discussing that there were more mice walking around the bar. After this event I will not eat here again.

There are also plenty of options for people with specific dietary requirements, such as vegetarian or vegan dishes. The offering is diverse and creative, so there is something for everyone. In addition to the sandwiches, the other dishes on the menu are also worth a try. Think of pancakes, healthy bowls, or an extensive breakfast with eggs. Went for a quick ginger tea to warm up from the stormy day today with my friend. The tea was nothing to note about, but the waitress..wow she was so annoyed that we gave her work to do and she wasnt even trying to hide it. After a while I asked for a coffee and again that look from the waitress, after she brought our coffee I asked her what time they close, and they still had an hour to go so shouldn't be an issue to drink up our coffee. But whenever that waitress passed by we were receiving that annoyed look from her, lastly when my friend wanted to go to the toilet after we paid, she said "no can do" the toilets are wet and again that look: it really felt like she wanted to have us out there asap. So we just went to Limon next door where we received a much warmer service. And as for the waitress: "Even if you are annoyed you need to stay professional". And no we are not coming back here.

The presentation was super appetizing, and the portions were great, but for some reason, my eggs benedict had a weirdly sweet taste… 😅 Overall, it was okay, but I’ve been to so many great spots in Amsterdam that this one didn’t really stand out. 🙃

Waitress in a bad unhelpful mood

Had a mid morning brunch here after arriving from the UK. The food and service were excellent and speedy. They graciously accommodated our luggage during a busy period. Highly recommend the avocado on toast, the London breakfast and eggs Benedict. The iced lattes needed an extra shot of espresso for more SLAP!

Presentation was pretty, taste-wise it lacks seasoning. Portion was okay, but not fitting the price. Service was friendly, a bit slow in my opinion. But it was nice to hang a bit inside despite the cold outside. Hope to see some improvement in the future for there is potential in this place!

Catastrophe! We didn't have a reservation. The entire store was EMPTY! The waitress said there was no space available. We've been sitting at DELICIOUS PANCAKES AMSTERDAM for 45 minutes and the entire Breakfast Club is EMPTY. Lazy service. Absolutely ridiculous. But luckily I get to decide where I spend my money. AMERICAN PANCAKES CLEAR RECOMMENDATION❤️

Was an okay experience, The sandwich bread was so dry it hurt the corner of my lips, also the fruits on my pancake just look sad and old. Service was okay but I don't think they will refill the tap water

If you're looking for a good meal, you might want to consider other options. I recently dined at this Restaurant and, unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. I ordered the avocado toast, but the avocado was on the verge of being overripe, and the overall flavor was not enjoyable. The portion size was also quite small, leaving me unsatisfied. Additionally, I ordered a small orange juice, which was truly tiny. To top it off, the coffee cup I received was not even full, which was quite frustrating. In summary, the food was not horrendous, but it certainly did not live up to the price tag. Given the subpar quality and inadequate portion sizes, I cannot recommend this place. The cost simply does not align with the value of the food offered.

I had the chicken and waffles, with beans and poached eggs. The poached eggs was so small I thought it was sour cream sauce. The chicken in the chicken and waffles were also very small, however, the waffles were tasty. I had a nice hot chocolate and the service was great. Overall not too bad. Would i eat there again? Not likely, small portions not really worth the price. Nice environment though!

It is a great place for breakfast with many options. The staff was great. The location was conveniently my hotel.

The atmosphere is wonderful. But neither the hot drinks nor the breakfast is even an average. Coffee and latte was taste like the ones from a coffee machine. The brie sandwich and the English breakfast was definitely below the average.

I went yesterday for some Benedictines and some Huevos Rancheros, unfortunately I only took photos of the Rancheros. As a Mexican, I'll say don't expect Mexican Huevos Rancheros, it's like a foreign version. However, the Benedictines were very delicious and so was the coffee.

Breakfast Club but doesn't have Uitsmijters. That's like a pub that doesn't serve beer. Friendly staff nevertheless.

You get what you expect from breakfast club. Taste of food is good, however a bit highly priced. Sizes of dishes vary so where one will fill you to the brim, the other will leave you hungry

Very tasty breakfast (we had the London + granola with fruit + an omelet). The only drawback is that the latte macchiato isn't particularly hot, so it's better to drink it straight away. Very nice service staff and a “hip” atmosphere at Zuidas.
