What a great experience at The Ottoman! The service is friendly and welcoming and the food is truly delicious. The yaprak doner, in particular, is highly recommended: wonderfully tender, well-seasoned, and tastes like real quality. The portions are good, the prices are reasonable, and the value for money is excellent. You really get good and fresh food here. And the mezes were also delicious. We will definitely be back!

This was the first time it was disappointing. I've been many times, but this one at the beginning of the season was a real letdown. People who arrived later ate earlier. There were six of us; two ate, the rest waited. In the end, one person couldn't eat because it still wasn't ready, but the match was starting 30 minutes later. A shame.

The meat was okay, but you could tell by the fries that they weren't freshly fried and had been sitting there for a while... the meat was clearly still warm and the fries lukewarm and soggy. For those prices, you should expect the fries to be freshly fried with every platter and not scooped from a warming tray. The quantity of fries was also very disappointing. If you dare to charge nearly 25 euros for a large platter, then make a good, large platter. That is really much, much better organized at other kebab places. Unfortunately, no value for money here.

After seeing a lot of promo on Instagram, we thought it was time to go eat at The Ottoman ourselves. The entrance is a bit dull and messy, but if you walk further inside, you find seating with luxurious-looking furniture. We chose a round table quite far forward by the construction wall (because renovations are still ongoing). Fine. It was just a shame that the armrests of the chairs were sticky. That doesn't feel fresh, but it can be easily fixed. We were given the menu and our drinks order was taken. The drinks arrived quite quickly. We were also supposed to get mezes, because 'after all, you can't wait at an empty table,' as proclaimed on Instagram. What a beautiful motto. Only... unfortunately, the mezes didn't arrive. It wasn't busy, so the food we ordered (chicken salad and the Iskender Yaprak Kebab) arrived nice and fast. The salad was nice and fresh with fresh parsley, red onion, and tomato. The chicken wasn't very hot, but tasted fine. It was a bit of an awkward bowl to eat from with a knife and fork, though, but that is a matter of choice. The price-quality ratio is okay. The Yaprak is supposed to be very tender (according to their own statements in multiple reviews), but it was quite dry and rather on the salty side. All in all, in our opinion, not worth the €23.50. Because we didn't see any staff, my husband went looking for someone to settle the bill himself. The amount of €47.00 was mentioned. No receipt or anything, so we just paid. Later we thought, Isn't that a bit much? That would mean we paid 10 euros for 2 drinks (small bottles). Conclusion: we had expected more, but unfortunately, it is not worth repeating.

I ordered from this place twice, giving it a second chance, but in my opinion, it's a complete failure. I ordered lahmacun (Turkish pizza), and I asked them to send it plain, saying the salad inside would be soggy. They said okay, but the order came with salad wrapped in a wrap. 👎 I ordered something else, and it came wrong. I said I wanted to pay in cash, but the delivery person had neither cash nor a PIN card. In my first order, they called me an hour later saying they didn't have what I ordered, forcing me to change it. Then they called again, saying that wasn't available either, and I spent two hours trying to get food, and that was always wrong too. In my opinion, definitely don't order food from them. The staff are very unenthusiastic and don't know how to speak to customers. It's a complete disappointment. Zero points for me. 👎

Over the past year, we have ordered 2 beyti platters almost twice a month. Delicious! However, unfortunately, today we suddenly received only half the food (instead of 2 skewers, only 1). Additionally, it seems as if the meat and yogurt are different. The meat no longer has that smoky flavor, and the yogurt is really different. Unfortunately, it is no longer worth €27.50 per platter. After complaining, we received a refund – however, we were told that these are the new portions from now on. A month ago, this would have been a 5-star review. Very disappointing, we will not be ordering this again :(

Many downsides lately, mainly regarding the service; The ordering screen is often just for show; navigation is not smooth, checkout sometimes fails, and when you order something on it, the order is sometimes not passed on, meaning you are still asked what you ordered while waiting for your order. You often wait too long, even apart from the previous instance, and desserts are also almost always forgotten to be served after the meal. I have also seen a number of staff faces that come across as very incompetent. For a place where you pay nearly 30 euros for a not-too-large mixed platter, you really should turn on the air conditioning during a heatwave of nearly 40 degrees. You just sweat yourself to death inside; it is truly scandalous for a renovated establishment like this. I have been coming to this place for well over 15-20 years and have never experienced problems on this scale with the service. The quality of the food and the interior design remain excellent, but otherwise, I would have considered not coming back here.

Today, for €93, I ordered 4 yaprak dürüm, 1 yaprak with rice, fries for two, and a separate container of rice. The fries for two came in a normal container and weren't even properly filled. Just enough for one person. Charcoal-grilled döner sounds nice and tasty, but the fact that there are literally pieces of charcoal in your meat is a bit too over the top for me. Moreover, it wasn't very appetizing. As long as this place doesn't work on their quality and preparation, we won't be coming back anytime soon and we won't be ordering here again. A shame. On top of that, the service was awful. Also, the smell in the restaurant was strange—like raw meat or something not fresh. The food itself lacked any real seasoning, despite how known Turkish cuisine is for being tasty, juicy, and delicious. This was truly unexpected on every level.

After half an hour we received food for 3 people, then 10 tokens later we received food for 1 portion, and after another 10 tokens we received food for a 5th portion, but the food was cold and we didn't order dragons on time either. We asked 5 times and only then received dragons. It wasn't busy either. We went around 4 PM and there wasn't a single customer. It wasn't normal. Never go there, and neither does my acquaintance; actually, they don't deserve a damn thing.

No one in their right mind would pay €10.50 for a doner kebab; I'd rather go eat a leaf doner kebab and get an ayran for €3. Have some mercy!

And all that for €13.50 per sandwich. I already thought it was ridiculous that you pay €3 extra for cheddar cheese instead of regular cheese at a Kapsalon. I thought I'd try a sandwich once, but I'll never order/get one from here again. These guys should be ashamed of themselves. And this isn't just a one-time order; I've ordered/taken one from here many times. So, if you want a good meal, absolutely don't order anything from here. Be warned, folks.

I used to come here weekly for the delicious beyti. The portions were large, well-seasoned, and always more than enough. Unfortunately, that's changed considerably since the restaurant moved or renovated. I tried it again last week, but I got super-thin slices of beyti with barely any meat. The flavor was barely there, and the portion was suddenly so small that I finished it in a few bites, whereas before, I could barely finish it. It seems like they've cut back on ingredients and portions since the new place opened. It's a shame, because this was my regular spot for years. But with these changes, I unfortunately see no reason to return.

Bad experience with delivery. I was waiting 2 hours almost and when I called them to cancel my order they told me is not possible because I ordered from Thuisbezorg. And in the app was say only the store could cancel the order because they handle the delivery. If you can't handle such amount of orders just don't accept more orders that day.
