Menú limitado, con opción de menú fijo, aunque todo estaba delicioso. Puede que no funcione para aquellos con un gran apetito, pero después de 3 platos todos nos sentimos cómodamente llenos. El personal era experto y amable.

Een leuke avond uit maar het eten was veel te weinig. Bediening was prima. Maar zelfs voor Pensionado's was het eten veel te weinig.

Tommy's Zuurveen offers a refined menu in a casual and welcoming setting. The menu changes regularly with a focus on seasonal ingredients. You have the option to go for a 3, 4 or 5 course meal for dinner. Since their menu changes frequently it is difficult to recommend a dish, but when we visited them in January the roe deer fillet stood out. It was well marinated with no trace of gaminess at all. The beets, onions and hazelnuts served alongside were also great complements. We were happy to see them make their own fermented foods such as kimchi and saurkraut and use them generously in their dishes. Their wine menu covers some of the classic regions with good producers, and minimal markup. I do wish the menu was bigger though, it would then be better suited to pair with the diverse flavors in their dishes. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, while the cutlery, glassware and tableware are all good quality nothing feels pretentious. It resonates with their goal of providing accessible culinary experience. The staff is helpful and kind, and the service is also very fast, in fact it was so fast at times that we had to ask them to slow down. Overall we really enjoyed our meal at Tommy's and we will be back to try out their new menu!

Wat blijft het een feestje om hier te eten. Echt alles is goed hier! Het eten heerlijk, de bedoening vlot, professioneel en zeer vriendelijk. De acoustic erg goed zodat je elkaar goed kunt verstaan. We gingen ditmaal met Valentijn. Een speciaal menu, elk gerecht een plaatje en zo heerlijk. Amuse, lekkere cocktail en mooie roos bij het verlaten van het restaurant allemaal op kosten van de zaak. Ach wat komen we hier graag 😊 prijs/kwaliteit verhouding erg goed, zeker als je kijkt naar het niveau. Trouwens ook erg goede wijnen hier ☺️

Delicious 3 course menu (+ cheese board) eaten here. The flavors were superb. Non-alcoholic options were very nice, we had a Sparkling Tea as an aperitif which tasted very refreshing and unique. (9.50 per glass, but worth it for once) With the main course I got blueberry juice which also combined very well. Never before had I received such a well-thought-out alternative that actually added something to the menu. The service was casual and cozy, we felt very much at home. For us the ideal level of fine dining. Thank you for the beautiful evening!

Das war eine Überraschung: Es sah so aus, wie viele Restaurants; auf der Karte stand 'Borrell' und 'Bites'. Da wir mitten am Nachmittag dort waren, schien es uns genau das Richtige. Und das war es: Es gibt viele verschiedene Kleinigkeiten to share, auch Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichte. Foie gras in ungewöhnlicher Kombination, ebenso das Steak Tartar. Die Desserts sind MEGA. Toll. Alles sehr modern (Präsentation der Speisen, Inneneinrichtung).

Dining at Tommy's & Zuurveen was a positive and pleasant experience where I had the five course menu. One of the dishes that I liked the most was the tuna and foie gras, an interesting and winning combination! The deer served with hezelnut and beetroot also stood out for its tenderness. The atmosphere is nice, but it should be especially nice to dine outside on a sunny day!

Before ordering I asked the waiter for details of the ingredients, which were not listed on the menu. When I received my order a different and well trained waiter fully described the dish, which unfortunately contained different ingredients from the ones I was told before, among them avocado which I don’t usually eat. I complained to the previous waiter and told him that I would have appreciated to have a detailed description of the dish before ordering it. He said he had asked for allergies and intolerances (tastes not included). He took the plate, not saying a word, no explanations and no apologies to come back after a few minutes with the same plate to which the avocado had been replaced with some pumpkin. Such an unpleasant experience. Not a warm atmosphere in general. Food is average.

One of the worst service experiences I have ever had. Walked in to ask for a table and order a drink, and THREE waiters stood around the bar looking busy, not even acknowledging my existence for almost an entire minute before I eventually left. I was the only person in the room with them! 😂 Actually comical.

Birthday dinner in a large family group. No children's menu. We had the 4 course menu with wine accompaniment. The food actually deserves a star. Very, very tasty 😋, but it also has its price. Dogs not allowed and better reserve a table!

03/01/2025 First dinner of the year and again an amazing experience. The food is amazing. Fair, delicious and more then enough. The staff is very kind and professional. Tommy's & Zuurveen (previously known as Tommy's by Janssen) has our vote :)

Great casual fiber dining option in The Hague. The two course menu is a nice option, when you are not that hungry or do not have much time.

What a fantastic evening we had! We were surprised from start to finish and had a delicious meal. A highlight was the chic third course with turbot, truffle and vin jaune. The service was also excellent: the man who served us (I think one of the owners) clearly enjoys his job. In addition, nothing escaped him and he asked about the pace. We will definitely come back here again!

Wat een fantastische avond hebben we gehad! Van begin tot eind werden we verrast en hebben we heerlijk gegeten. Een hoogtepunt was de chique derde gang met tarbot, truffel en vin jaune. De bediening was ook uitstekend: de man die ons bediende (volgens mij een van de eigenaren) heeft duidelijk veel plezier in zijn vak. Daarnaast ontging hem niets en vroeg hij naar het tempo. Hier komen we zeker nog eens terug!

Excellent, modern menu for Christmas. Good adjustments for less alcohol and for a gluten intolerance. For the most part very expert service, adapted to the table. Not cheap, but worth it!

This was our second time in this restaurant , but I have to admit that at the end we were quite disappointed. The food was not even close to what we tasted when they were in their first location in The Hague. The combination of flavours was not the best.. is like they do too much effort to be unique but at the end the taste of the food is not worth it. I can’t say we “really”enjoyed any plate. Too expensive for what it was. In addition, at nigth, in winter with the door of the restaurant wide open so the wind was constantly in my partner’s back So sad. I don’t think we will come back again.

We dined at 30th June 2024. It was overall a pleasant experience. The service was really good and the waitress was polite and pleasant. Although there are a few points that kind of reduce the overall dining experience. We tried the 5 course dinner for two, but on the 4th course, the whitlof was burnt and bitter and the asparagus was too hard to cut. It tasted bitter too. We didn’t expect this from a highly rated, reputable Gault Miller restaurant. Regarding the atmosphere, the 4 older guests sitting behind us were really loud in their talking and laughter. One guy at their table kept sneezing some where in their conversation (about 10 times and really loud without covering his mouth) and it dampened the whole experience.. The fine dining experience was completely diminished just in that way. It’s a pity as I have expected much more with the price I have paid for me and my guest. Edited: we gave the restaurant a chance and this time, we were treated, to our delight, a very pleasant fine dining experience. The food matches the atmosphere very well and the wine pairing was great! I have changed the review from 1 star to 5 stars.

Zeer leuke ontdekking als Belg in een stad met veel restaurants! Een zeer vriendelijke bediening en service, sympathieke en ervaren mensen. De culinaire gerechten waren, zonder uitzondering, allemaal perfect en overheerlijk! Zeer goede kok.Dit is echt een top gelegenheid. Uitstekend eten. Bediening goed maar komt wat gehaast over. Eniorm veel geluid door pratende gasten en onvoldoende geluiddemping.

Un gran restaurante en Veenkade, sin duda una de las principales direcciones en La Haya. Grandes combinaciones de ingredientes y sabores, por ejemplo, atún con hígado de ganso y pomelo, presentaciones maravillosas y un maridaje de vino perfecto! Y la guinda del pastel es el gran servicio - siempre sonriente, muy bien informado y súper eficiente. Absolutamente recomendable, a pesar de que el nivel de ruido general es relativamente alto.

Excellent restaurant. You can choose from a three, four, or five course menu with or without a respective wine pairing. We had four courses which was perfect in terms of portions size and got a bottle of wine. The food is absolutely delicious, the presentation is excellent and the taste is great. The service was casual and super nice and friendly. We had great chats with the servers and enjoyed ever minute there. We will definitely come back next time we are in the city.

Booked this restaurant with our friends for lunch through Dining with the Stars. The 3 course menu was very surprising and tasty. Extensive wine list. Friendly service with a lot of attention for the guests. We will come back for dinner sometime

Vandaag voor het eerst en zeker niet het laatst ons hier culinair laten verrassen. Het eten was helemaal top, geweldig van smaak en de bediening uitermate gastvrij. Prijs/kwaliteit is echt goed.

Went with 6 people to this restaurant to enjoy a nice 3-course lunch menu. This is a relatively new restaurant in The Hague and by the looks of it not many people have yet found, so it's still a bit of a hidden gem ;-) We loved the food, the nice and helpful service and their patience (we had one guest who came 1 hour later than planned). Keep it up and I am sure this restaurant will earn its deserved place in the list with best bistro-restaurants in The Hague.

Celebrated my birthday here with my wife. We enjoyed the 5 course dinner + wine pairing. The staff wished me a happy birthday’s upon checking in and had a nice handwritten card on the table. The staff explained all courses and wine in great detail and the pairing was on par. Personally recommend the 5 course pairing for the experience.

I’m a true food lover, and let me tell you, this restaurant is on the verge of earning its first Michelin star! Here’s what I ordered: The venison The dark chocolate dessert An IPA The IPA, from "Swinckels," was smooth, not too bitter—super refreshing for an IPA. Highly recommended! The venison was cooked perfectly "saignant." Just right! The sides were outstanding: confit beetroot, perfectly cooked mushrooms and cabbage, all topped with a forest sauce that perfectly complemented the venison. Now, the chocolate dessert was a real masterpiece. A hazelnut sauce, paired with a matching ice cream, a creamy center enclosed in a delicate chocolate shell, all sitting on a thin tart sprinkled with chocolate and speculoos. Mmmhhh... heavenly!

Highly recommend. The food is an absolute explosion of flavours. We had some bites, mains and a dessert. All terrific. It’s not cheap - but truly, it deserves the price tag for the flavours, excellent service and amazing place. Will def go again when I get a chance.

I went there for a solo dinner, hoping to find a nice restaurant to enjoy my meal. OMG! I couldn’t have chosen better. Rody, my waiter, was incredibly friendly and engaging! He gave me the best recommendations. At one point, I even considered ordering more food, but he advised me to order a little less and see how I felt after my dishes arrived—and he was right! Of course 😅 I tried the cabbage, and WOW! I’m speechless. I didn’t expect such incredible flavor and have never tasted anything like it. I’m still dreaming about it! Then, I had the tuna with foie gras—amazing! And the scallops—everything was SOOOO delicious! To finish, I had the pure chocolate dessert, and they even gave me a complimentary liquor to enjoy with it. Thank you for such an amazing dinner! I truly believe that dining out is more about the experience than just the food itself, and at Tommy’s, I really had that experience! Thanks to Rody, the restaurant, and the absolutely stunning work of the chefs!

Perfect and friendly service. When the weather is good “in the boat” - great. Small menu, very good quality food. So it was a great evening, great.

Food was very salty, the sauce on my table companion's plate was spoiled. Very expensive for a night out eating, price quality is really not good in my opinion. Unpleasant lighting, hanging lamp with a large pool of LED light above your table. All waiters speak English, which is not a problem. But it still bothers me that this is supposedly the most normal thing in the world.

We were here thanks to a gift voucher from friends, and will certainly come back ourselves! We really enjoyed the three course tasting menu and wine arrangement. All efforts were taken to make sure that the menu was suitable for allergies and dietary requirements, including a call to confirm this on the day. The dairy free food was not a replacement but an incredible meal in itself! Lovely service. Looking forward to the next time.

The food at Tommy's and Zuurveen is very tasty and the flavors are just right. The service is good and it has a casual atmosphere. Nice with the tables on the boat and inside. We had a 3 course dinner with a number of guests. The composition of the starter and main course was mainly fish-oriented. Although the flavors were really good, the portions were not enough for me and my guests. This made me somewhat disappointed afterwards. This is the first time ever that I've stopped by Mac after eating out because I was still hungry and I don't even like Mac. I hope that with this criticism the balance can be improved by the chef or they can add some sides like "simple" fries or something.

The attitude of the server, especially the female one, was quite rude. First, she didn’t take our order even though she saw us waving multiple times. Then, a male server took our order, but it took them longer than 20 minutes to bring a few canned drinks. We also noticed the female server giving us nasty side-eye. I don't know if they were being racist, but that is in no way acceptable.

Super cool place. On the water. Service is very nice, friendly and professional. I sat on the boat for a while, after a while I couldn't hold on anymore, the other table was of course fine. Had mortadella sandwich with cream cheese and pistachio. It was all very tasty, especially the pistachio, the rest was also enormous. Had IPA Fire and Flame beer, delicious, fruity, exactly what I wanted. Also have Tonic Berries, which in my experience you don't have in many places, also very tasty. Enjoyed it immensely. Will come back soon in the evening ❤️

Been here for dessert. Clearly attention is being paid to this. The only downside is that when I indicated that my aunt was celebrating her birthday, the waiter did not bother to make a gesture. Congratulations could be a gesture. Possibly a one-time miss, but it means that I will not be inclined to have a meal here. Furthermore, a beautiful location!

Toevallig hier beland met twee andere koppels. Vanwege idyllische ligging ah water. We dachten eenvoudige lunch. Maar wat een aangename verrassing!!! Een hoog niveau van smaken- eten- samenstelling bord- etc! Ons dessert was werkelijk een smaakbom

Na de escape tour die we hebben gedaan in Den Haag zijn we heerlijk wezen lunchen bij Tommy’s & Zuurveen. Lekker aan de hoge tafels gezeten. Begonnen met een lekkere bubbel, daarna een 3 gangen lunch met wijnarrangement. Als eerste zeebaars en zeeegel, daarna rogvleugel en een dessert van groene thee. Fantastische lunch komen zeker een keer terug en groeten aan Sophia die mee wil op vakantie :-). Zij is een toppertje.

Tommy’s & Zuurveen is heavenly! The team of international staff are amazing. It didn’t matter who was at our table, they knew what to do; all of them are engaging, knowledgeable and friendly. I cannot praise them enough. Our compliments also go to the kitchen staff who delivered the most delicious and exquisite courses. The bread with butter and the pepper mayo was just delicious; the bread was warm, perfectly crusty on the outside and pillow soft on the inside. We went for the chef’s surprise and wine pairing. Spot on! The starters we had was the beef tartare and the ceviche. Both were not overpowered but complimented by the sauce and accompaniments. The wine had peachy essence. The main was a skate wing which was so tender with a fluffy white wine sauce and a rich carrot sauce for the vegetables - just wow, especially as I had never had skate wings before. The white wine was of an oaky note which could also go with meat. The dessert: a sheet of meringue with matcha ice cream, paired with puffed rice and kiwi was divine! The wine was a dessert wine was sweet with a hint of cognac which lingers beautifully. The atmosphere is relaxed and chill, offering a range of seating from the inside, to the outside space along the wide walkway, to the barge on the canal. I loved my experience today - from the kitchen serving the most glorious food to the most delightful staff. I will definitely be recommending this establishment.

Tommy's & Zuurveen Had dinner for the second time at the new location of Tommy and Zuurveen on the Veenkade in The Hague. And it was great again. Tastefully decorated location. Much larger than the previous version, but the atmosphere has remained. What has also remained is the delicious food. A variety of delicious bites, including oysters, starters such as sea bass and crab were delicious. The main courses such as ray wing and tournedos were very good. Actually, a tournedos comes with a steak knife, maybe I should have asked for it. And…. Why was I, a man, a senior, allowed to taste my red house wine, and my daughter, a young adult, not allowed to taste her white wine? By the way, compliments for the waiter, at the start my partner indicated that he was not allowed to have raw dishes and offal, but when we mistakenly did so, he pointed out our previous comment. Good attention. Top. The lambada strawberry dessert was also super delicious. Everything was very tasty, tasted and looked very tasty. One more question for Tommy or Zuurveen, you don't need a menu with pictures like that for a restaurant of your top quality. We'll be back. Top restaurant, looks like a bistro, just eat a 🌟.

Had a really great experience. Spontaneously called to see if they still had a spot for that same evening, and this was no problem, even with my gluten allergy. The combinations in the dishes were delicious and the service was super good. The food is of high quality. The staff's knowledge of gluten-free food and its preparation was also top-notch.

Very special culinary experience! Our first dishes was the krab and the scallops. Both of them very creative with surprising combination of flavours! As the main dishes the tournedos steak and the iberico pork meat were really flavourful. From the desserts we tried the white choco and the pure choco! The pure choco was the best dish of this dinner! Strong chocolate flavour with nuts , chocolate crumble, banana notes and passion fruit! I will definitely come back again for the winter menu!!!

Nice address if you are in The Hague! It was super tasty, but when you eat à la carte (as we did) the portions are not adjusted. So you get the same portion as in the menu. And that was not enough for à la carte. So when you take the menu, these portions will be sufficiently large. As a newcomer 12/20 in the Dutch Gault & Millau, you expect slightly better service than we received. There are two place settings on the table as standard. When you eat à la carte (only main course and some bites), you expect them to take away the other place settings. The waiter also seemed a bit clumsy when pouring the drinks (spilling and pouring it next to the glass, not placing the aperitif for three people on a platter, but simply in his hand, with the waiter holding the full glasses by the stem,... .). You expect more for a promise from Gault & Millau. Price was super good again. The only comment here is that the basket of bread was charged. Is this typical Dutch? I can't imagine people doing this in Belgium. The decor was also nice, with attention to sufficient light on the table, without disrupting the atmosphere. There was also a nice floating terrace on the water! So it's a bit of a mixed feeling.

The restaurant with the casual section and dinner section. We ordered 4 courses dinner. All dishes were beautifully decorated and delicious. Drinks were good. Would love to give 5 score for food. However the services were not up to the level and tables settings were too close to each other.

Very tasty food! For the first time that I really liked all the dishes at a three-course menu and the wine was also very good, as well as the bread and cappuccino. The service was very nice. We had a nice time outside on the terrace boat. Small tip: some more decoration on the boat with plants, for example. We would love to come back here again!

Had a delicious lunch with two people, took a 3-course menu. Beautiful furnishings, attention paid to the interior and decoration, top!! Very good quality food, possibility of wine arrangement plus wide choice of wines by the glass. A great afternoon for us, but it was a bit of a shame that a very uninterested young lady suddenly appeared in the service, who rushed through everything at the table with a disinterested look (even wanted to take away the plate with dessert while my table companion had not even finished! This was such a contrast to the man who received us and served us in the beginning...But all in all, definitely recommended!!

It was actually a bit disappointing. Good food but not memorable. I also thought it was very pricey in comparison. The feeling is as if you are eating in a large bistro, but the price quality is a bit lacking. Service was friendly but not very knowledgeable. At 10:30 PM the entire restaurant was already empty. We were having our dessert and the kitchen started scrubbing loudly, which I thought was a bit strange. The four of us spent 700 euros for a 6-course menu with wine. It certainly wasn't bad, but we didn't think it was worth it for the money. Extra information: Received a call from the friendly owner who said he would do something with the critical points. I thought this was very neat and will definitely visit this restaurant again!

What a great restaurant, I had eaten there before and now found a spot on the boat outside for drinks. Super place in the sun, nice/professional staff and a delicious menu for both drinks and dinner. See you again soon!

Nice food but hot dishes full of potatoes and bread and could have more protein for the price. Location is very pleasant especially when sunny outside by the canal..

We just had a drink by the water, a relaxing place in the sun. The restaurant appears to be of excellent quality given the dishes at the neighboring table. To be tested given the rating of the establishment 👍

Was originally going elsewhere but it was super busy so dropped in here - glad I did - if you’re ravenous then maybe try elsewhere but for super tasty food, then try here. I had tomato tartare - which was fantastic, followed by a blood sausage - it was more akin to a tasting menu but I was still pretty stuffed after just this (and some lovely bread) - staff were great and so was the atmosphere (pity I was flying solo as it’s great for having a chat with friends/family)

Wonderful setting with a boat on the water to enjoy the first rays of sunshine of the year 🌞 Unfortunately, only one alcohol-free beer in the range, but the Swinckels 0% was tasty. Service was friendly and smooth. We would love to come back again to enjoy the dinner menu!

Fantastic surprise menu and a great restaurant with great staff.

We enjoyed an extensive 5 course lunch. Super tasty and surprising recipes, many flavor variations. Highly recommended, we will definitely come back again
