Tom's Cafetaria in Oud-Oost

When we order fries, we always order from Tom. Normally the quality is very consistent, but today the food really disappointed us. We were probably the last order that was delivered with this trip. The entire order was at most lukewarm, the peanut sauce and the fries were really cold and the fries had also become completely mushy and tough. Actually inedible. We put the peanut sauce in the microwave. The snacks were okay, but all in all not what we are used to here. Still a shame with an order of over 40 euros. Still four stars for the service because the order was delivered on time.

Apparently it is very difficult to give a full order here. Or don't drink with it. Yesterday again no saté sauce, for which it is paid. And fries baked so hard that it is just chips. We thought "we'll try it again, maybe it was because it was busy last time"... Well, not so... No more Tom's for us...

Excellent food good service pleasant staff

Apparently there are small children working there who think it's funny to give you a simple burger with nothing instead of the hamburger sandwich you ordered, went back and got a new one, but quite a sad service.

We waited over 1.5 hours for our order. fries lukewarm and limp. Ordered Coke Zero and got regular Coke. snacks also lukewarm and clumped together.

A cafeteria where you can enjoy delicious food. It's very clean. And they are always busy.

Ordered at 5:10 PM and delivered at 7:05 PM! Almost 2 hours further! 5 different snacks in 1 container. Croquette and cheese souflee broken in the container.

Placed an order on Sunday and then you know it is busy. The only thing I don't understand is why more people aren't put in service, but apparently they don't read the review either because I'm not the only one who has to wait a long time for a delivery at Tom's Cafeteria. The email indicates the time, but in practice it takes much longer without you being informed in between. You could at least keep people informed, for example "due to extreme crowds it is taking longer than normal" This review is also not beneficial to you.

Ordered at 6:55 PM, received confirmation stating delivery time as 8:10 PM. Called at 8:14 PM, our food was just in the fryer, it would take a maximum of 15 minutes. Delivery: 20:44. Scandalously bad and therefore not honest on the phone.

You can deliver a little faster

The location is spacious and always tidy, the snacks are well prepared and delicious, the owner and the employee are open to a chat, that's how you want to remember a snack bar visit..

First time eating there and we will be back. So friendly.

Tom's cafeteria has now moved to Cambuurplein. Nice big place with excellent service. Friendly staff and delicious fries 😃👍🏽 Update; There are 6 people in the kitchen, but all they do is chat with their arms folded. My order was taken by a friendly lady. But the gentlemen at the deep fryers do very little. All they get is a numb jaw from chatting. Here they do not get tired of work. And the customer has to wait extra for his order. Service 2 deduction. Too bad Tom.

Normally fine, but not last night. Old frying fat, dull fries.

The food is good, but It said the order is going to take 40-50 min - it took hour and forty five (45) minutes. I called to ask whats up with the order - I was told that they were sorry and that the order is coming in 5 min and that I got “a little gift” in the package for excuse. The order came 15 minutes after the call not 5 and there was no gift in the order. Terrible hospitality. I paid 2.50 for delivery of 1 kilometer for almost 2 hours.

Almost 50 minutes waiting for 2 burgers. Asked several times if it was almost ready. An apology every time, coming soon. The last time they said burgers are now on the plate and will be given in a moment. We then saw that these burgers were being packed for someone else. In the end we left hungry and received no further apologies. Really bad service.. wasted money.

A little more understanding and friendliness towards staff would be an asset to the owner.

The food would taste better if it were taken from the display case with gloves.

Very busy (Cambuur football cup semi-final) but very prompt and friendly service. Plate Burger and snacks on the table quite quickly. Super tender and juicy Burger and excellent fries and salad! Toppers!

I recently ate here during my break from home care. I had an hour break so that should be more than enough. Unfortunately it took about 50 minutes for the food to arrive (so I still had to throw it down in 5 minutes). If it had been busy I would have understood this... but there were at least 6 employees, while 3 customers were in the shop. Staff seemed very unmotivated. Food was tasty by the way.

Rest in peace Tom! Thank you for years of delicious snacking! Really terrible, left for heaven far too young. My condolences to family and friends and lots of strength for this great loss🙏🏽

Ordered from Tom for the second time tonight. I ordered around 6pm for delivery at 8pm. In the comments I let you know that I fully understand that this is one of the busiest days and times for a cafeteria and that I have patience. That was appreciated. I would like to express my understanding and appreciation. The food was delivered promptly at 8 p.m., which was great! The food was super fresh and the rasp fries were even super crispy 😁 The snacks were also super fresh, hot and not greasy at all! The satay sauce was also hot and very tasty. All in all, really top service and good quality and most importantly: delicious food! In any case, I really enjoyed this and Tom, thank you and this will certainly not be the last time I order from you 💕

The pick-up time is a joke, the service is also lacking. At 5:00 PM I placed an order for 2 people. You will then receive an email stating the collection time, 5:50 PM. It will be busy, nice that they at least indicate a time. I arrive 5 minutes in advance and register at the counter. 10 minutes after the original pickup time (6:00 PM) I started to wonder why it was taking so long. I then indicated again that I was waiting for my order. It will be ready soon, she said. I finally received my order 20 minutes after the collection time. Because I paid via IDEAL, I was allowed to take the order with me, if I wanted to grab the cola from the refrigerator myself. At that moment I thought, let me bring some extra mayonnaise. So I ask for a container of mayonnaise. This is wrapped for me and I am then asked if I would like to pay for this bowl of mayo, worth 1 euro, to her colleague. Would I like to go to the back of the queue to be able to use my debit card for this? Really ridiculous.

Wir waren am Sonntag zur Öffnungszeit dort um vor der Abreise aus Holland noch etwas zu Essen. Das einzige was ich zu meinen 5 Sternen sagen kann ist „SCHMACKOFATZ“! Fahrt dort hin und esst euch durch, es ist günstig und lohnt sich. Die Milchshakes sind auch der Hammer!

Mooie locatie, ruime zaak met uitstekend eten en gericht personeel op de klant, viert haar 25 jaar bestaan, kwaliteit en een uitgebreide menukaart aanwezig, kortom een aanrader voor vele!!!

Eten is prima. Ik had in de planning om vandaag eens in de snackbar zelf te eten ipv online te bestellen via de app. Na het bestellen ga ik in het restaurant zitten (niet op de afhaal plaatsen, iets wat ik toch een redelijke hint van de intenties is) en ik krijg gewoon een zak voor afhaal als mijn bestelling klaar is. Nooit een vraag gehad of het afhaal of hier eten is, ook amper kans om te protesteren, want men draait zich al weer om en is met andere dingen bezig. Teleurstellend.

Tom’s was ooit een fantastische snackbar, persoonlijk. Snel en eerlijk, helaas na de groei en verandering van locatie, is de service matig tot niet meer aanwezig. Ruim van te voren bestellen, specifiek een tijd aanvragen. Komen ze uit eindelijk 30 minuten later aan… Nadat ik al 15 minuten had gewacht heb ik een telefoontje gepleegd met een mevrouw van Tom’s, die was uitermate arrogant, on vriendelijke en totaal niet probleem oplossend en wimpelde mij snel af met “dan annuleer ik uw order wel.” Helaas, ik bestel vanaf nu ergens anders.

Heerlijk gegeten super lekkere burgers van de bak plaat. Wonen buiten af maar keurig dubbel verpakt en warm nog. Patat zeker niet vet en klef. Top aanrader! Was slecht weer dus erg druk moesten dus vrij lang wachten denk aan wel een uur maar was zeker de moeite waard en ondanks drukte nog kwaliteit! Wij komen weer

Leuke zaak goede keus geweest om daar heen te gaan ze hebben meer ruimte en eten kan je er ook met meerdere mensen

Lekkere patat, ook raspatat. Vriendelijke mensen, je kan er ook nog fatsoenlijk zitten. Die ene gast is wel cute.
