I went with a colleague last Friday, and I had high expectations, especially because of the green star! I think it's fantastic that green stars are awarded, because I was really curious about what chefs can do with vegetables. But what a disappointment! I won't discuss every dish individually here, but we were disappointed with what we were served. The portions were small, especially the pearl barley risotto. Two bites and it was gone, which I thought was a shame because it was the first dish that was truly delicious. We also didn't think the wines matched the dishes, and I think it's important that we work with local products! The price of the bubbles beforehand was completely out of proportion, 22 euros for a glass... We were even more disappointed when we got the bill: 450 euros for a few vegetable bites and bland wines. This is not recommended!

Last Saturday invited by friends. Saturday there is 1 fixed menu consisting of 7 or 5 courses. You can then indicate whether you prefer meat/fish/vegetarian! Unfortunately, there was no mention of 1 person without cheese when making the reservation. But the chef-owner quickly and well picked up on this. In the kitchen, the chefs pulled out all the stops to adjust the menu for this person so that it was also great for him. The dishes were neatly served with a clear explanation of ingredients and origin. That makes it special. The non-cheese eater enjoyed the extra special dishes cooked for him. Can be described as TOP. Definitely worth coming to eat during the week. Please

Dear friends gave me a birthday dinner at Triptyque as a gift. Recently, the time had come and I sat down with two friends at a table to enjoy the Triptyque menu. To complete the experience, we also ordered a wine arrangement. What beautiful dishes! Two-thirds of the way through the menu, one of my friends unfortunately had to leave due to personal circumstances. My other friend and I finished the menu and enjoyed excellent service until the bill. We were very surprised when we were presented with the bill at the end of the evening. Despite the fact that my friend was unable to finish her menu, we still had to pay for it. I understand that a menu was ordered and that it was prepared, but I find it incomprehensible that our friend's remaining dishes were not offered to us. My friend subsequently discussed this by email, where she also indicated that she thought it appropriate that her dishes were at least offered to us, as she is against waste. There was no response from Triptyque, except that they are also against waste. If that is the case, what happened to the dishes that were not consumed? If they had already been prepared? Thrown away? Donated? Consumed yourself? The wine arrangement would have been settled with the coffee set, but the bill was so unclear to us that we could not make that out. Two glasses of wine were supposed to have been deducted from the bill, but they seemed to be on it anyway. And I wonder if two unpaid glasses of wine outweigh four dishes that were not consumed by anyone, but were paid for. The bill was hefty, which you may expect from a star restaurant, but in my opinion you may also expect better service from a star restaurant than this. I was left with such a bitter aftertaste that I decided to write this review two weeks later. A shame, but for me a reason not to come back.

Reception was nice, very friendly staff, facilities are quite nice as well. But the service was not as professional as I expected. Poor explanation of the dishes and they didn't care if one of us was not at the table when the dish was served. We actually had to ask them to please wait for our friend to return from the bathroom before you start explaining the dish twice. Besides that, food was very average and very little for the expensive price you pay. In general I'm very disappointed with the menu course experience. I've been in several menu course restaurant types and this was the first time I came back home very hungry. Taste wise there was nothing special. The bread was the most tasty dish we had which is odd for this kind of experience. We were charged 30 euros for 4 bottles of water that they kept serving without asking if we indeed wanted more. Usually for a 125 euros per person menu the water is not charged. So I was very surprised with this. I do not recommend it and would not go back.

We had such a lovely evening at Triptyque. The food was terrific, the highlight was a tartar made of carrots which had an incredible taste and could have passed for the real thing. The delicate composition of white beetroot and the barley risotto were also terrific. The service was really friendly and Niven, the chef, welcomed everyone personally. Also noteworthy that there is a strong emphasis on locally sourced produce, which extends to wine from the Netherlands. The latter was a really pleasant surprise. A real find, we will be back.

Last week we enjoyed the full tasting menu with accompanying wine arrangement. It was a whole evening of pure enjoyment of great dishes and delicious drinks. The carrot steak tartare is worth a special mention, we couldn't stop talking about it! Moreover, we received a super warm welcome and felt very welcome, partly due to the thoughtful congratulations on my fiancée's birthday. All in all a really great evening!

Special experience. It's nice that well-known dishes are made with different ingredients. Nice extras in terms of preparing at the table or the game of tic tac toe. I wouldn't necessarily consider local wines. But all in all it was a lovely evening. Small point for improvement: we ate with a group of 6. Tables apparently took longer than anticipated, so the wait staff was already standing with their coats on. That was a bit of a downer. Definitely recommended!

There is no reason not to eat at Triptyque. Well okay, if you don't like good food. Then just stay home. But we would prefer to eat at Triptyque every week. What great dishes. Enjoyed it immensely! Also recommended for carnivores (like us), because then you see that meat is not necessary to eat well. And if meat is served with one of the dishes, then that's great too. 10 out of 10. You should go!

A restaurant in Westland awarded a Michelin star is definitely worth a visit. Beautiful dishes with local vegetables, herbs and spices. The brioche, tartare and caramel sea salt dessert were fantastic. The restaurant only serves Dutch wines with the menu, which was also a pleasant surprise. Service was very friendly and made the evening complete!

Second time here after ok first time. Classic case of "One eyed man (tryptique and others) is king in the land of the blind (The Netherlands). Overall; Very expensive (200 EUR incl tip for tasting menu, 2 mixers and a coffee) for what it was. But as mentioned bit of a culinary wasteland in this region so one gets away with it. Decent presentation, nice service but meh food with overall all "cheap" ingredients. Nothing wrong with cheap ingredients but price and meh execution give it a sour after taste - pun intended. Detailed overview of dishes; Pumpkin - decent, nothing memorable Brioche - why is this part of the menu? Decent brioche, nice butter Soup - you get a list of the 28 ingredients in it but it is a vegetable soup folks, a nice one, but a vegetable soup. Moving on Tartar; one of the highlights. Well-seasoned with a lovely vinegary/gherkin dressing - a small win Celeriac; Easy, classic, "cheap" ingredient combo but weirdly cold. Maybe meant to be lukewarm but underwhelming overall Broccoli leaf/potato/Egg yolk; Decent but slightly too lukewarm/cold again Pallet cleanser; again, should not be part of the menu but actually really nice and original. credit where it's due Fancy dutch chicken; really moist chicken but skin was the opposite of crunchy as in gelatinous and just awful. Maybe forgot to panfry finish it? Ok sauce Risotto; One of the few highlights. nice presentation, consistency and taste albeit a tad salty (like this review) Parsnip creme caramel; sooo close! Really nice idea and taste but grainy texture negates it all a bit but again, nice taste Ice-cream; nice. But it's ice cream with a berry compote, nothing to see here folks So overall not a bad meal but when you pay premium you get judged on that basis.

An evening out at Triptyque is a true experience. Starting with the beautiful building in which the restaurant is located. The concept is completely contemporary and fits well with the location in Westland. It's amazing how the kitchen brigade manages to upgrade the pure vegetables from the region with their special preparation methods into dishes of a very high culinary level. The dishes are pure, balanced, incredibly tasty and surprisingly beautifully presented. The service is very attentive and helpful. This amazing culinary experience is not to be missed!

Dinner out because we have been together again for xx years. Looking for something nearby that is worthy of a Michelin star. Came out in Wateringen, at Triptyque. Special anniversary menu, which included amuses, 6 courses, friandeses and accompanying wines/non-alcohol (all in). We started with a tic-tac-toe appetizer, including the game to play together. A fun and playful start to our culinary journey. All mainly vegetarian dishes were great in taste and presentation. They literally make magic at the table, they come and prepare most of the dishes at the table. Which brings a very fun and luxurious game to the table. From a picnic man full of surprises to making shaved ice at the table. They were all flavor explosions and we also discovered many new flavors. And that's why we go out for dinner. She can really do magic with vegetables. Highly recommended if you want to eat something other than quail/fish/beef at a high level.

Had a fantastic meal at Restaurant Niven in 2018. That's why I didn't hesitate to try out the new restaurant Triptyque. My partner and I opted for the Triptyque menu (9 courses) aperitif and a number of glasses of matching wine. Unfortunately, we were not very enthusiastic about the food. The appetizers were very mediocre and there were only a few dishes that stood out in terms of taste: tomato with lime finger, lavender bread and carrot tartare. The fried artichoke, the asparagus with nori (curdled cream at the bottom) and the 4 slices of mini pointed pepper were real downers. The wines were pricey but well selected. In terms of price, we are not easily shocked by the bill, but we are if it does not match expectations.

I was looking forward to going to this restaurant, because the concept of this establishment is close to me, and the interior was also aesthetically pleasing. We ordered a menu consisting of 3 mini appetizers, 2 desserts, and 3 courses. And at the very beginning, when they brought us the amuse-bouche, we caught a hair, this was a compliment from the chef. This was the biggest surprise of the evening. The appetizers were delicious, the desserts too, the carrot tartar had an interesting texture. My favorite was the scallop dish. I didn’t like the eggplant, there was a strong aftertaste of balsamic vinegar. The staff is polite and neat. But the renovation in the toilet is already a bit old. There was also a lack of music. There were a few other minor comments, but I won’t go into all of them here. In general, everything didn’t go as fabulously as I had planned, but a couple of dishes were really tasty, the presentation was beautiful, and the interior was nice.

Had a really delicious lunch a few weeks ago! The carrot steak tartare is so delicious and well made in terms of taste and structure. That's what you'll come back for! We were helped very friendly and the matching wines were also delicious. Some dishes were finished at the table, which was nice, a bit of table entertainment. I only thought it was a shame that it was so quiet for a Saturday lunch, that in combination with the quiet appearance of the restaurant made it a little less atmospheric for me.

We had an excellent evening at Triptyque. Head chef Niven welcomed us in person, and showed us our table. Being back at the location where Niven once started clearly made him feel at home. The young and attentive staff was professional and approachable throughout the night, not too formal, creating a great atmosphere. The food was amazing, and surprising from start to finish. The vegetarian steak tartare is a must-taste! This is one of those restaurants worth the detour. Make it your destination and you won’t be disappointed.

Yesterday was my 4th time eating at Triptyque and once again it was a treat. Insanely delicious food and beautiful surprising vegetable combinations. The langustine, the Westland tomatoes and the carrot tartare are definitely two star dishes. In short, the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is good. I have no doubt that Triptyque will soon get a star and for a large part of the menu it certainly deserves two. See attached photos of dishes I have eaten here in recent years. Heerlijk en verrassend gegeten bij Triptyque. Met een attente kaart bij binnenkomst met felicitaties voor de verjaardag. De service was soepel,: vriendelijk en attent. Verschillende gerechten hebben ons echt verbaasd, o.a. worteltartaar, carpaccio meloen en de pastinaak crème karamel. Alle gerechten waren minimaal heel erg goed en op smaak. Het tempo van de gerechten was uitstekend de avond vloog voorbij. De uitleg aan tafel was deskundig en op bevragen altijd antwoord. Dank team!

Erg lekker gegeten, goed ontvangst, gemotiveerd en vriendelijk personeel, duidelijke uitleg bij gerechten en wijnen, ruim opgezet. Echter wel erg aan de prijs (waarschijnlijk omdat er vrij weinig in de regio is van dit niveau); het gemiddelde sterrenrestaurant is goedkoper en dat niveau haalt Triptyque naar mijn mening nog niet. De gerechten zien er goed uit maar vrij fantasieloos; ze zien eruit zoals op de kaart beschreven, nl een opsomming van de ingredienten. Bij gerechten van deze prijs verwacht je een klein kunststukje, zoals bij de meeste restaurants in deze prijsklasse. Zoals gezegd smaakte alle gerechten goed, maar sprong er niets echt uit. Alle combinaties van ingredienten en smaken waren goed, maar niet veel meer dan dat.

Went in for a birthday dinner with a friend. Personally I opted for the six course vegetarian experience. Warm welcomed, waiters super friendly, placed in the dining hall on a clean table Amuses were really tasty, fresh, local and the brioche bread smelled great with lavender and honey. Surprising mocktail (see vid), tasty! Excellent explanation of the wines. Outstanding eggplant dish and amazing beetroot vinaigrette (I would buy a bottle of this). Unfortunately that’s the only food I found much exiting. The courses were overall relatively salty, the vegetarian dinner was adjusted to the meat dishes (this actually was explained by the waiter this way) instead of the other way around (where they say to be vegetable based this surprised me). Coffee okay, not blown away by the served sweets & chocolate (which not home made). Toilet can be updated, single bathroom for women, smelled like bleach which is really unpleasant in a restaurant like this, saggy frame on the wall, odd placing of towels and disposal of them in a bucket you have to lift the lid up by hand which doesn’t make it feel clean). Overall impression: nice food, but not amazing, very small glasses of wine poured (literally 2 sips for a half glass (when driving there’s a half glass arrangement) when pouring two of the half glasses together they might actually make up half a glass), bill was emailed and back home we saw we were charged for water that wasn’t ordered, mentioned this during dinner twice, but apparently very business minded. Wouldn’t go back. Spent 350 for 6 course dinner two( both a 4 half glass arrangement, coffee and sweets)..

Wij hebben genoten van een fijne avond bij Triptyque. Het diner was goed en verrassend. Maar toch een eerlijke terugkoppeling over een aantal punten. Bubbels als starter is fijn, maar na uitserveren krijg je pas de wijnkaart, waar dit per glas a 22,50 blijkt te worden berekend. Zeer forse prijs in vergelijking met de kostprijs van deze champagne. Misschien toch eerst een wijnkaart overhandigen om gasten dit vooraf te laten weten. Er was nadrukkelijk gezegd dat er geen 2de fles water was gewenst, welke toch is geserveerd (wederom aangegeven) en uiteindelijk ook is gefactureerd. Jammer dat er geen gerecht kan worden gewisseld in het gangen-menu. En dit alleen als extra kan worden toegevoegd. De halve glazen wijn, waren soms zeer karig. Uitleg over de wijnen daarentegen zeer goed. Deze bovenstaande punten gaven ons een iets te commercieel gevoel van deze avond. Terwijl deze commerciële blik beter gericht kan zijn op een terugkerend bezoek. Wat dit gevoel nog extra versterkt is dat er, na een aantal weken, nog geen enkele terugkoppeling is gekomen vanuit Triptyque. Geld is binnen, dag klant! Wel sturen zij nieuwe acties voor rond de feestdagen naar mijn mailbox. Hier gaat iets goed fout.

Fijn personeel, bijzondere gerechten. Stevig geprijsd. De bediening zeer vriendelijk. Jong en vol enthousiasme. Ietwat slordig af en toe. Wijnen heel fijn, maar erg hoog geprijsd als je kijkt naar wat de wijn kost. Ook de champagne eigenlijk te duur. 22.50 voor een klein glas, terwijl de fles 40 euro kost.

Fantastische avond gehad: zeer warm welkom, non-alcoholisch aperitiefje, heerlijk gegeten. Bijzonder smaakvol was de brioche, de snoekbaars en de breiding van alle groentes, die de hoofdmoot zijn. Als verrassing kregen we nog een dessertje ná het dessert, geweldig. Grote complimenten voor de koks en bediening. Aanrader.

Uitstekende lunch in het "nieuwe" restaurant van Niven Kunz. Mooie inrichting maar veel belangrijker: de smaakjes van de gerechten en amuses: heerlijk en een streling van de keel. Prijzig maar dat is het waard.

Heerlijk gegeten, goede sfeer en fijn personeel. Bij dit soort restaurants, is het vaak zo dat het personeel heel serieus en stijf is... dat was hier niet zo. We hebben een 6 gangen diner gekozen we begonnen om 18:00 uur en waren rond 21:00 klaar. De amuses gingen erg snel, de gangen zelf waren op prima tempo. Ze hebben ook goed rekening gehouden met de allergie van mijn vrouw, zonder dat ze echt iets miste. Het kost wat, maar dan krijg je ook wel wat! Zeker een aanrader

Het Oude Raadhuis was zo gevonden maar de ingang aan de rechterzijde van het pand was toch even zoeken. Naast de ingang enkele parkeerplekken, prima. De inrichting is modern en sfeervol met keurig gedekte tafels waaraan comfortabele kuipstoelen. Aan beide zijden ramen met daglicht en leuk dat de deur naar de wijnkamer open stond. We werden begeleid naar een ronde tafel aan het raam, fijn. Als aperitief een Brut Champagne Premier Cru van Cattier, geschonken in een klassieke coupe van geslepen kristal, die uitstekend beviel. Het eerste hapje kwam op een houten standaard. Koekje van Reypenaer xo met venkelzaad, een echte smaakbom. De chef kwam met een picknick mand aangelopen waarin verschillende fingerfoods opgebouwd met ingrediënten uit het Westland. Om te starten een cracker met verschillende zaden waarop paprika relish. Lekker met goede textuur. Tartelette met steak tartaar van rode bospeen, afgewerkt met een toefje bieslookcrème en vers geraspte zomertruffel. Prima textuur en mooie smaken. Mijn favoriet was de pizza courgette afgewerkt met geraspte parmezaan, heerlijk. De eerste begeleider werd uitgebreid met veel achtergrond informatie gepresenteerd door de ervaren sommelier Custoza 2021 van Menegotti, sappig en fris met aangename mineraliteit. Op de kiezelstenen een oester met tartaar van yellowtail kingfish aangemaakt met limoen waarop komkommer rolletjes en dunne plakjes radijs. Heerlijke ziltigheid met aangename bite van de groentjes die werd aangevuld door de zuren van de wijn, prima. (8,75) Een speciale Oostenrijkse wijn was geselecteerd voor bij mijn topper van de middag. Gluegglich 2020 van Loimer, gaat richting natuurwijn maar was zeker niet te uitbundig. In een glazen schaaltje een mooie presentatie. Als basis een zacht gekookt kwarteleitje waaromheen een delicate Noordzeekrabsalade afgedekt met dunne plakjes biet gemarineerd in een sherry vinaigrette (van sherry azijn 20 jaar) afgewerkt met boekweitzaad en quenelle kaviaar. Verfijnde luxe smaken met originele smaakaccenten waarbij de heerlijke wijn keurig in balans was. (9) Uit de Alsace een Gewürztraminer cuvée Stein 2017 van Eckle, rond aroma in de mond duidelijk complexer dan verwacht. Ernaast een hele strakke presentatie in een schaaltje. Als basis chawanmushi gemaakt van dashi getrokken van Nederlands zeewier waarbij eidooiers en soja, erop stukjes gerookte paling, foreleitjes en kleine stukjes bieslook. Volle ziltige smaken waarin de voortreffelijke paling de hoofdrol opeiste. De wijn bleef keurig overeind en vulde het gerecht aan met zijn heerlijke aroma. (8,75) Over naar rood met een elegante Bardolino 2020 van Menegotti. Ernaast een exclusief vegetarisch gerecht geïnspireerd op chef Michel Bras (Laguiole, Frankrijk). Lauwwarm gepresenteerd en opgebouwd uit maar liefst 21 verschillende producten uit de regio. Groentjes, kruiden en bundelzwammen, beetgaar of als crème, afgewerkt met een vinaigrette van peterselie. Een waar genot voor de vegetariër zoals partner maar voor mij is dit veel moeilijker om op waarde te schatten, helaas. Verrassend dat de rodewijn niet overheerste en keurig in balans was, met complimenten voor de keuze. (7,5) Als dessertwijn een Côteaux du Layon 2020 van des Deux Arcs, late oogst Chenin Blanc met subtiele edele rotting, goud geel in het glas, in de mond een vleugje honing en verfijnde zuren. Ernaast een hele mooie presentatie. Een “maiskolf” van chocolademousse waarnaast popcorn en een quenelle bergamot sorbetijs afgedekt met een krokantje waarop een dotje bergamotgel. Een prima smakencombinatie met krachtige zuren, keurig in balans met de wijn. (8,75) Als afsluiter een espresso met een keuze van de friandise box met in alle laatjes lekkernijen. Bediening was uitstekend verzorgd met veel gezelligheid, een hoofdrol voor de sommelier ondersteund door een jongeman en de chef die de meeste gerechten zelf presenteerde, leuk.
