It was truly a disgrace! Soup, two sandwiches! A few tiny pastries and scones, and four cups of tea! And it took way too long between courses! Outrageous for that price.

Perfect place, I enjoy mostly here accept all de lier. Recommend for everyone, including foreigners .

You can sit there really nicely along the water on a beautiful terrace. You can't see that from the front, so definitely walk to the back. The staff is not the friendliest, the portions are unfortunately a bit on the small side and the prices are high. I think they call that shrinkflation :)

Very nice place for a nice lunch. Today my sister and I treated our mother to a delicious lunch at theetuin de bongaard. I eat gluten-free myself, which is no problem at all at the bongaard. Enjoyed the lunch sandwiches. Delicious fresh mint tea with a coconut cookie. Mothers enjoying a delicious white wine. Went here in the summer last year. Then you can sit outside on the terrace by the water. We will definitely come back here.

We recently went here for a High Tea, which was, in a word, delicious. Also a super cozy tent. Be careful if you want to go there because they are in an alley.

In June during lunch we were made aware of the dinner (5 or 6) courses that we had enjoyed yesterday. What a feast! Delicious dishes with matching wines served by super friendly and motivated staff. Definitely worth repeating.

A quiet place in the center of De Lier. When the weather is nice you can sit by the water. We sat inside the attractively decorated restaurant. The high tea was great. Several treats that exceeded my expectations! Highly recommended!

Unfortunately I had a very bad experience with high tea. Very special things at high tea without reporting this in advance. Sweet snacks were not tasty. Very antisocial treatment by the staff. It's a shame that it's no longer what it used to be.

Arranged a baby shower at the bongaard for my daughter. High tea was discussed and this would be a slightly different high tea than we were normally used to at the bongaard. We were open to that, it all sounded fun. Until we were sitting with the whole group and we got very special things such as mustard soup and a grilled cheese sandwich with blue cheese! Serving such daring things without question at a baby shower with a pregnant woman and a large group. Nobody liked the high tea. The sweet snacks were also very disappointing. Tea was lukewarm. As if that wasn't bad enough, we were helped by a girl with brown hair who was incredibly antisocial. She didn't explain anything and was very negative and curt. When we wanted to order a drink after high tea, we were turned away, to say the least. I have honestly never been treated so unkindly. The whole company felt this. We discussed this with the owner 2 days later. Unfortunately, he was very defensive and did not want to apologize about the strange things that were served at high tea without consultation. We only received an apology for her colleague's behavior, and that was what we had to do. We ourselves are not difficult people at all, and we would have left it with a sincere apology and warm-hearted conversation, but the way we were spoken to was once again antisocial. It's a shame how this turned out, you don't do justice to the name bongaard!

Enjoyed a super high tea with 4 people. A delicious variety of food and different types of tea. Very surprising and anything but standard. They make everything themselves and we tasted that. Recommended.

Been to the Bongaard several times. Lunch, drinks and the special chef dinners, everything is great. The chef is skilled and ensures that I eat products that I would normally NEVER try. The service is always friendly, even to children of any age. And plenty of options for the children too. I am honestly very happy that their menu is different from a standard farmer's omelet on bread or fries and chicken nuggets. Choosing something from their menu is difficult because everything is surprising and delicious. This place is an absolute must

This afternoon we had a lovely high tea at De Bongaard with our padel club. We were given a table by the extremely friendly young lady Irene in the beautiful conservatory with a view of the old carpentry yard and De Lee. The high tea at De Bongaard was more than a pleasant afternoon with tea and snacks, it was a culinary journey that exceeded every expectation. The harmony between atmosphere, service, and food was perfectly balanced, creating a relaxing and luxurious experience. Whether you come for a special occasion or just a pleasant afternoon, De Bongaard is highly recommended!

Very nice high tea today with friends! First we were received by a nice waitress who had a nice table on the terrace. We had nice weather so we were very happy with this. Then came the tea and the (sweet and savory) snacks. Our pregnant friend was also with us and luckily Mike also took this into account! In short, delicious high tea and great service! Will definitely come back.

This was my second time here, but the first time was for the High Tea. The location remains enjoyable, small and cozy and wonderfully on the water. The high tea was beyond expectations! 4 different types of tea with a nice explanation. The variety in food was also very nice, from savory to sweet. The staff is super friendly and really wants to make you happy, something you don't often see anymore. Had a wonderful afternoon!

Had reserved High Tea & 2 people High Beer for 2 people, of which 1 person High Beer 0.0 Friendly employees, started inside the Conservatory, but were able to go outside after our coffee because the weather was so nice. Enjoyed 4 courses of delicious snacks in the sun on the terrace, including a delicious soup and 4 different teas and beers. It was different than what we were used to at the Bongaard before (hadn't been for a long time), but certainly no less tasty and cozy, worth repeating, my husband and I enjoyed a pleasant afternoon with our friends.

Vandaag een heerlijke gezellige high tea gehad die bestond uit 4 gangen, heel goed bedacht omdat we er lang over konden doen. Heerlijke gerechten, vriendelijke bediening. Kleine verbeterpuntjes: schone bordjes bij elk gerecht; schone theeglazen bij een nieuwe thee; thee allemaal op dezelfde temperatuur serveren.

Delicious food. Staff with a hospitable attitude, you don't often find them like that anymore. As far as we are concerned, a gem that we would like to get into the car for in Schiedam.

This afternoon we returned to the Bongaard again from The Hague. This time we had a sandwich. The taste was really great. The dishes were all home-made, except for a single cake. This place deserves a big compliment... and... No We are not family, neighbors or friends. We just like to come here because it is class, for a very reasonable price.

You can enjoy delicious food and drinks at De Bongaard. When the weather is nice, the kids can play in the play corner. We love to have a coffee here, have lunch or have a drink on the terrace. Highly recommended!

Really delicious food with honest ingredients, good taste, nice and friendly couple who have taken over the bongaerd a year ago. Highly recommended! And of course an idyllic spot.

Booked high tea and high wine today because of father's bday. I had searched extensively beforehand and due to the photos on the site, I chose this cozy spot. Because oh oh, it looked so good and beautiful and festive in the photos. I had asked in advance by email whether it was as shown in the photos, but only other questions were answered. What we were served... completely different! Taste was good, but the presentation was really bad! Sorry for the expression. Friendly staff, yes, but when I shared my experience when paying, all that came out was that they took over the store a year ago and wanted to do it completely differently. Everyone has shelves with all kinds of goodies and regular sandwiches and they didn't want that! Fine, but then update your site with recent photos. So here are...photos as it was and how it is now and then you can decide for yourself whether you think this is a high tea that you are willing to pay 25 euros for. If I had had the choice, I would have gone to a traditional high tea on the Euromast or something for that money.

Since the new owner has taken over, the food has deteriorated considerably. We always liked coming here and it was always full, but not anymore. Almost 11 euros for a tuna salad sandwich is really too expensive and not enough in quantity for an average adult. Tip for the owner, get started with the lunch menu and ensure sufficient portions and more different dishes. You can only get toasted sandwiches and sandwiches with toppings at an average climbing forest. The location itself is really cozy and the service is also great, so there is plenty of potential! So cheer up, you can do much better than this :)

Leuk ingericht met heel vriendelijk personeel en een lekker glaasje sauvignon-blanc! Tot gauw!!!

We hebben heerlijk buiten in de tuin aan het water geluncht. De boterham met buikspek in combinatie met de rode bieten en paling was echt super wat een geniale combinatie.

Restaurant onder nieuw management? Wij waren meer fan van de oude styling. De kaart is ook aangepast. Het eten is lekker maar duurde erg lang voor we het op tafel hadden.

Super leuk café op een bijzondere historische plek. We zaten er te eten terwijl het keihard aan het regenen was, maar dat maakte het alleen maar meer gezellig. Mooi interieur en hele toffe serre - kom hier graag een keer terug wanneer het mooi weer is. Ook vriendelijke bediening. Bedankt!

Vandaag met 3 buurvrouwen een High Tea gehad.Echt genoten. Het leuke was dat het geen high tea was met de gebruikelijke gerechtjes maar met allemaal gerechtjes die we geen van allen eerder hadden gegeten.Ze waren allemaal ontzettend lekker.Ook de de uitleg die we steeds bij een nieuwe ronde thee en hapjes kregen van de ontzettend aardige bediening was top. Echt een aanrader!

Was benieuwd naar het nieuwe plaatje, de smaken zijn goed, de locatie blijft geweldig. Maar toch een beetje een bloedend hart doordat de vroegere charme en kneuterigheid totaal verloren is gegaan, dit was juist wat de Bongaard uniek maakte.

Deze theetuin is overgenomen door nieuwe eigenaren. Vroeger was het heel anders dan het nu is. De soep was erg pittig. Mijn vriendin nodigde mij uit voor een high tea. Je krijgt 4 theeglazen met thee die je niet zelf kan kiezen. De thee was op zich wel lekker. Je krijgt 4 gangen high tea: soep, hartig, zoet, dessert

Afgelopen zondag een verjaardagsfeest gevierd van mijn schoonvader in de Bongaard. De service was fantastisch. Het eten heerlijk en daardoor de sfeer goed. De locatie is mooi geworden n.a.v. de verbouwing.

Even wat spullen afgegeven voor de trouwerij van onze dochter morgen (16-6), zeer sfeervol.

Met mijn dochter een high tea gedaan. Het was heerlijk. Zeer vriendelijke bediening en heerlijke hapjes. We komen zeker nog eens terug.

We hebben genoten van een heerlijk goed verzorgde lunch. Het eigenaarsechtpaar (kok en gastvrouw) verdienen een dikke 10. Vlak voor de corona epidemie gestart in “het Tramhuisje” in Naaldwijk. En in 2023 de overstap gemaakt naar “de Bongaard” in De Lier. Dan heb je het ondernemersbloed in je!!

Het twee jarig bestaan van mijn bedrijf heb ik gevierd in de vorm van een lunch verzorgd door de Bongaard. Voor 48 man zijn verschillende soorten broodjes en soep aangeboden. Ik heb niet anders dan vele positieve reacties gekregen over het eten, gezond, gevarieerd, unieke combinaties, erg smaakvol en voor ieder wat wils. Vandaar mijn welverdiende vijf sterren review. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Super leuke locatie en heeft er een eigenaar wisseling plaatsgevonden. Weer heel anders en zeker niet minder goed.Leuke mensen en bekend in het Westland. Heerlijke gerechten en waren wij er voor de lunch met meerdere personen. Grote boterhammen met allerlei lekkers - je krijgt dus 1 geroosterde dikke boterham met whatever you like. De smaak is voortreffelijk en ziet eruit als een plaatje. Alleen zou een scherp mes op zijn plaats zijn - het is nu een gevecht met die dikke - getoaste boterham. Maar....ik heb hem stuk gekregen. Had er 1 met Pulled Chicken - erg lekker. Gastvrouwen zijn zeer hartelijk. We komen zeker terug.

Super gezellig en een heerlijk broodje....ziet er sfeervol uit nu met de nieuwe eigenaar...hij heeft het dik voor elkaar! Top

Op hemelvaarts dag met mijn dochters een high tea genoten.

Nieuwe eigenaar sinds maart, ook andere menukaart. Veel gerechten met brood en tosti's. Ik eet geen brood dus nam een cesar salade voor 13,95. Slechts 1 soort sla, geen tomaat geen komkommer en veeeel spek, kip en saus. Bleeeh, voldeed niet aan verwachting. Verder geen andere keus voor iemand die geen brood eet. Wel vriendelijke bediening maar ik kom er niet meer.

Een heerlijke en gezellige high tea gehad. Fijne bediening, met veel uitleg. 4 gangen met ruimte ertussen zodat het een leuke middagvulling is. Heerlijke in de serre gezeten. Geen alledaagse hapjes maar alles even lekker en afwisselend. En veel! We hadden 1 persoon die glutenvrij moet eten, die heeft ook heerlijke dingen gegeten. Dank jullie wel voor de gezellige (verjaardags)middag

Vanuit het Tramhuisje naar deze mooie plek, zoals Irene zei...een pareltje aan het water in De Lier. De gerechten door Mike smaken niet alleen fantastisch maar zien er ook nog eens onwijs mooi uit. Een genot voor oog en tong.

De bediening is heel vriendelijk/vrolijk. En het eten is heerlijk. De omgeving is ook heel mooi je kan er zelfs vissen en wij hebben ook nog een vis gevangen. Helemaal top dus zeker en aanrader

We hebben lekker geluncht bij de Bongaard. Het personeel was heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De lunch en koffie en taart waren heerlijk en er was een ruime keus uit vegetarische opties. Ook met allergieën kan rekening worden gehouden.

Overgenomen maar de prijzen zijn enorm gestegen

Ook met de nieuwe eigenaren nog steeds een van de leukste plekjes van het Westland voor koffie of lunch. Lekkere lunchgerechten, goede koffie en glutenvrij was geen probleem!

Ik werd meegenomen voor mijn verjaardag voor een hightea. Maanden eerder was het al gereserveerd. Helaas was 1 van het gezelschap op het laatste moment verhinderd. Nou dat hebben wij geweten. Er kwam iemand naar ons toe. 'Klopt dat de tiener niet komt?' Dat moesten we inderdaad bevestigen. Haar reactie? 'Maar het is allemaal al voorbereid. En dat kost ons geld. Wat moeten we er nu mee doen dan? Weggooien?' Meerdere keren werd genoemd dat het hen geld kost. Het voelde echt als een aanval en de toon van de middag was gezet. Ondanks dat ze haar baas /vader er per se zelf bij wilde halen was het niet echt meer recht te krijgen. Alle begrip dat we moeten betalen hadden we. En we zouden het ook mee naar huis krijgen. Wij hoefden van de baas slechts de helft te betalen, omdat die persoon er niet bij was. Zie foto van wat wij mee kregen. 8.75 voor betaald, normale prijs dus het dubbele?!!! Mag hopen dat het niet alles was, maar aan de andere kant ook wel omdat die andere persoon zo verschrikkelijk emotioneel was over de moeite die er in zat en dat het niet weggegooid mag worden (mee eens!!)...maar is dit alles dan? Jammer, leuke locatie en smakelijke hightea. Maar dit gaat het nooit meer worden en zullen het dus ook niet aanraden aan anderen. Stel je voor dat je ziek wordt ....dan is het advies: sleep jezelf er toch maar naar toe om haar niet teleur te stellen!

Afgelopen zaterdag (4juni 2022) voor het eerst naar Theetuin de Bongaard. Wij hadden voor 4 personen een high tea gereserveerd, maar 1 persoon viel af door omstandigheden. Dit bij aankomst doorgegeven. Hebben een tafel toegewezen gekregen en de tafel werd gedekt. Toen kwam er iemand van het personeel aan en letterlijk zei: Klopt het dat er een persoon is afgevallen, alles is al klaargemaakt. Dat kost ons geld. Door deze manier van communiceren stond ik de eerste paar seconden perplex. Hierna gaf ik haar duidelijk aan dat wij hier voor het eerst komen en als zij op deze manier met ons omgaat dat ik meteen weg zou gaan. Ik voelde mij absoluut niet welkom. Ze kwam zelf niet met een compromis of iets. Kreeg meerdere malen te horen dat het geld kost. Waarop ik zei ik betaal het wel. Ik kreeg de reactie: ik ga mijn baas erbij halen. Terwijl ze wegliep hoorde ik haar zeggen: Pap kan je even komen. Meneer bij ons aan tafel communiceerde op een veel klantgerichtere manier. Helaas was voor mij de toon al gezet. Eten was lekker. Maar door dit voorval kom ik hier niet meer terug.

Het was een geweldig samen zijn met 15 vriendinnen,onder het genot van vele heerlijke hapjes,teveel om op te noemen,de mooie tuin en ambiance en vriendelijk personeel.Een plaats om nog eens terug te komen

Een high wine is her neit alleen een streling voor je tong, maar zeker ook een feestje voor je ogen! Prachtig opgemaakte high wine, met veel oog voor detail en alles was vers en smaakte meer dan goed!!! Dit alles kan je van genieten op een prachtige plek! Een beetje verstopt, maar wat hebben wij heerlijk gezeten aan het water in de zon!!
