I've often had a nice meal and drinks here. In the summer, however, it's really unbearable due to the lack of air conditioning. The staff did their best, but it was clearly too hot for them.

I found the food really delicious, and the service here was very good! However, it was really ENORMOUSLY hot inside and there was NO fan or air conditioning. It got so hot that we actually left as quickly as possible immediately after dinner, even though we initially still wanted to eat dessert.

It was tasty. I have to say there was nothing wrong with it; it wasn't special in the sense of memorable either. Just good, and that's fine too.

I ate here yesterday with my girlfriend and her children before attending an event at the Jaarbeurs. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The service was slow, and most of the staff spoke English, which made communication difficult. We ordered a 12-hour snack and a vegetarian sandwich. The bread with both dishes was very hard, especially the crust. This made the meal less enjoyable. All in all, it wasn't anything special, and we won't be choosing this restaurant again anytime we attend an event at the Jaarbeurs.

The brown bread was dry and cut way too thick. White bread was only available at the casino (not good if you don't have a grilled cheese sandwich). The croquettes were lukewarm, and I think the toppings came from a jar. Not recommended!

Made a reservation and asked if it was wheelchair accessible. Well, if you need to pee, it's definitely not. There's a ramp to the toilet, but it ends past the door, making it impossible to use independently. The staff were very friendly and wanted to change something, but management refused. Basically, they're telling people with disabilities to pee themselves if they're just eating or drinking. Very disappointing. 🤬

Too bad the plates weren't warm enough for our main courses, so the food was lukewarm. Such a shame! Great place!

I had to wait 45 minutes for my food. I ordered a burger, but I got a veggie burger! They did give me the correct burger, but it was raw inside!

It's a clean restaurant. The atmosphere is nice. I went during lunchtime, and there were only a few empty seats, but it was crowded. The food was inexpensive, and I was very satisfied.

My family and I dined here on Saturday night before the Moulin Rouge performance. There were six of us at a round table. The service was excellent; the vegan pizza was delicious, as was the main course salad with tenderloin wedges. The tiramisu looked like it was served in an empty jam jar. The sorbet was very sweet! The space is lovely; it was easy to chat.

We were here on October 4th. We'd never eaten so badly: raw shrimp, cold food, pepper sauce that was more pepper than sauce and also stone cold, raw mushrooms with the steak, wrong orders, some people didn't eat until everyone else had already finished... At 1:00 PM, we had to tell 17 people what we wanted to eat at 5:30 PM. And everything went wrong. The toilet was filthy, and I saw staff simply throwing lettuce scraps on the floor. It's a shame because the restaurant is quite beautiful.

Very accommodating and my entrecote was lovely. But we won't be coming back, because my friend who ordered the vegan burger went home and was throwing up and miserable the entire night after eating it.

The service is constantly slow. They don't come to ask if you want drinks or anything. They forget to bring the menu. They bring dishes you order simultaneously at long intervals. They leave you sitting with dirty tables and dishes. It takes ages for orders to even arrive. And to top it all off, a dish was forgotten. This restaurant could earn so much more (including from tips) if they paid more attention to service and communication. The food is decent. Nothing special, but okay for what it is.

5+ stars! Upon entering, you are welcomed very friendly despite the crowds and are immediately asked if you have an end time. The service is international and very friendly and attentive. Starter, main course and dessert are on the table within fifteen minutes. And all fantastic. Beautifully presented, incredibly tasty and good quantities. We were ready well in time for our evening plans, which were also really taken into account. Highly recommended!

My area is very beautiful. It is the city of Lyrobe, one of the most beautiful tourist areas. It has all the necessities of life, such as hotels, restaurants, and sports activities.

Had a great meal. I had the camembert from the oven and the uncle Jim Burger. Was very tasty. Also very tasty beers on tap. Really recommended if you go to the Jaarbeurs or the Beatrix Theater.

Nobody came to take our order or speak to us when sitting outside. Warm drinks weren't even in the menu that was on the table there. The hot chocolate and orange juice were mediocre.

The club sandwich was very disappointing - very sparsely filled. There was barely any chicken fillet on it, only a few paper-thin strips, and the rest of the toppings were also sparse. Chaotisch!! Gereserveerde ruimte bleek niet gereserveerd te zijn/ te blijven. Binnen no time was de ruimte door anderen opgevuld. Hapjes en drankjes te laat uitgeserveerd. Deel gasten reeds weg en schalen met hapjes die weggegooid moesten worden. Moest elke keer aangeven dat er sprake is van een arrangement. Aantal gasten werd zo maar opgehoogd, omdat stelde men, ik dit aangegeven zou hebben. Manager totaal niet voor rede vatbaar. Kortom; triest mijn receptie zo te zien vergallen.

Very nice restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. Food is above average, especially considering the attractive prices! Service was friendly, but could be a little better. Sandwich was forgotten to serve beforehand. Halfway through the main course we asked for an extra portion of fries, which was neatly brought after the main course (that was no problem), but plates and cutlery were all taken. So that became old-fashioned with the hands. All in all, certainly no reason NOT to come back. Had a wonderful Valentine's evening!

Leuke sfeer en vriendelijke bediening. Er was wat mis gegaan bij de hoofdgerechten waardoor we langer moesten wachten. Toen we vroegen waar het bleef zeiden ze dat het direct gemaakt zou worden en dat we ter compensatie de hoofdgerechten gratis kregen. Wat een service en had niet gehoeven. Maar echt klantgericht. Eten was prima.

Great place for company drinks.

Hemos sido asiduos del tío Jim durante algún tiempo, un lugar ligeramente ocupado pero en general cálido y auténtico, pensamos. Hasta nuestra última visita. Pedimos un plato sin gluten, para un celíaco. Se sirvió con un bollo de hamburguesa desmenuzado en el plato de arriba. Señalamos esto y explicamos el problema (la comida sin gluten ya no está libre de gluten). La comida fue devuelta a la cocina y tuvimos una conversación desagradable con otra camarera, que intentó encubrirlo bajo su política de que no pueden garantizar rastros de gluten. Esto es normal en una cocina sin gluten, pero no excusa la forma en que se sirvió. Esta actitud muestra una falta de cuidado hacia nuestros requisitos dietéticos, ya que separar el plato libre de gluten de los demás cuando se sirve estaba bien dentro de su control. Nos ofrecieron un plato nuevo, pero cuando se servía era el mismo plato, la salsa ahora cogetal. La porción inapropiada fue un error, no traer un plato nuevo, y mentir sobre ello, es inaceptable. Hablamos con el chef, que no negó que era el mismo plato, y finalmente acordamos que no necesitamos pagar por él, después de cierta resistencia. La falta de respeto y el interés en el bienestar de los clientes fue estremecedora. No regresaremos.

We have been regulars of Uncle Jim’s for some time, a slightly busy but overall warm and authentic place, we thought. Until our last visit. We ordered a gluten free dish, for a coeliac. It was served with a crumbly burger bun on the plate right above. We pointed this out and explained the issue (gluten free meal is no longer gluten free). The meal was returned to the kitchen and we had an unpleasant conversation with another waitress, who attempted to cover it up under their policy that they cannot guarantee no traces of gluten. This is normal in a non-gluten free kitchen, but does not excuse the way it was served. This attitude shows a lack of care toward our dietary requirements, as separating the gluten-free dish from the others when serving was well within their control. They offered us a new dish, but when it was served it was the same dish, the sauce now congealing. The inappropriate serving was a mistake, not bringing a new dish, and lying about it, is unacceptable. We spoke to the chef, who did not deny it was the same dish, and eventually agreed that we needn’t pay for it, after some resistance. The lack of respect and interest in customers’ welfare was jarring. We will not be returning.

The plates, cutlery and glasses were so clean! Really amazing how they were shining so much! Dazzling; the stars on a clear night were nothing... I could see my own reflection in the spoons. The ecstatic head smiling back at me was entirely due to the wonderful person in the reel! Food was also fine; I was just distracted by the status of the glasses. How clear my white wine was flowing into my spotless glass was something to write home about! Hats off to whoever is in the reel! I would love to come back to enjoy the shiny glasses, cutlery and plates again!

We had dinner here with a large group (more than 100 people). The service was excellent. We had many options for decorating, the collaboration was great and the different dietary needs and allergies were taken into account. The food was very tasty and the restaurant has a nice style inside.

Even though it was completely booked for Saturday evening, we still made a place for 4 people. Delicious food in a nice environment. The food was not served too quickly, so you could enjoy the dishes afterwards. It was a very successful dinner

El tío Jim está escondido en una zona de nueva construcción con edificios de gran altura detrás de la estación central de Utrecht. Qué sorpresa tan agradable - en una zona donde se le puede perdonar por esperar rápido - comida, comidas semiprocesadas, etc. El tío Jim brilla con platos de alta calidad, bien preparados y bellos presentados. Y el tío Jim emplea personal con la mezcla adecuada de profesionalidad, informalidad y una actitud acogedora. He probado el mejor Piri de Camarones que he probado, y un trozo muy generoso de filete de bacalao, perfectamente cocinado - la única "queja" que tengo es que estaba demasiado lleno para disfrutar del postre! Los precios son muy razonables, de hecho, teniendo en cuenta los deliciosos platos, las porciones generosas y el ambiente entero. Definitivamente volveré.

We were with a large group. All dishes communicated in advance. Steak tartare as a starter was okay, nothing special. Had their signature hamburger for main course, which was 'murdered' on the grill. Super salty fries. All in all, I expected more from it.

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!I was charged for the food I didn’t eat!and staff don’t care about customers!!!firstly we wait long for the food,then when it was served I got a very salty fish,I love salty food but this was too much for me.when I told the waiter I couldn’t take the salty taste she only reason out about its ingredients etc.i ask for different food but she said it would take long time to prepare for another dish,so I decided to not take another food anymore.when the bill was out they charged me for it they said its not their fault!they didn’t tell me when they remove my plate that I have to pay for the food I didn’t eat!what a scum bags!Ive been to many restaurants and when customers complain for the food they always compensate it.

Delicious food, small menu but good quality, enough variety. Friendly and hospitable staff may just pay a little more attention to contact with guests, when you have a question or want to order something, this is often not noticed. But as said before, the contact was great and I really enjoyed it.

Nice place near Beatrix theater

Leuke eetgelegenheid met vriendelijk personeel. Volledig ingesteld om op tijd in het theater aanwezig te zijn. Kwaliteit van het eten was redelijk waarbij de groenten bij de tournedos nog niet gaar waren. Gevarieerde menukaart met prijzen die gangbaar zijn in deze tijd.

Makkelijk bereikbaar met openbaar vervoer. Bij binnenkomst moesten we door een erg druk restaurant, veel tafeltjes en geluid. We zaten gelukkig bij het raam achter een soort open shot wat minder rumoerig was. De bediening verliep wat rommelig. En kwamen tafelgenoten bij en er moest gevraagd worden of zij ook wat te drinken kregen. Na een drankje kwam de kaart. Ruime keuze voor ieder wat. Het voorgerecht kwam redelijk snel op tafel maar het hoofdgerecht liet op zich wachten. De smaak was redelijk maar sommige gerechten waren niet echt warm, jammer. De wijn en de speciaal bieren waren lekker. Jammer, wij komen hier niet snel terug, ons te rommelig en lawaaierig.

The food is great, really quality. So there are good chef(s). The oysters were gone, which was bad luck. But the reason I give 4 stars is because the ice cream was also gone. How we felt like having an ice cream, a sorbet or something else... all the ice cream was gone and we returned to our hotel. That feels very strange...

Very nice establishment. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and the table was quickly shown to us, indicating that we wanted a quiet table and that was provided. Starter and main course were (apart from miscommunication) of a high standard, drinks were a pleasant temperature and cups/glasses were well filled, certainly 5 stars. Unfortunately, a small miscommunication between kitchen and service, it was stated that they did not want champions with the Burrata, but unfortunately they still wanted champions upon presentation. The dessert left much to be desired (I felt like it was ready-made) - Tiramisu: did the coffee miss the taste, long fingers? Not found and unfortunately too much cream in a jar - Brownie in chocolate sauce: the chocolate sauce was very watery and the brownie itself tasted dry Entrance was a bit of a struggle, but that has its charms

Dat dit mijn eerste bezoek was en dit niet uitnodigde tot een volgend bezoek. Opmerking van de serveerster die afrekende: volgende keer misschien iets anders uitkiezen? After 1 hour and 45 minutes we got our food. Very bad and no apologies. The food was delicious and we did not have to pay for 1 round of drinks at checkout. Nevertheless, I won't go here again. (6:15 PM inside and the food arrived at 8:00 PM.)

Some come for a drink or a company drink and others come for a serious meal. We belonged to the last group and had made a reservation through Social Deal. Although it was extremely busy and everything seemed busy, the atmosphere was good and we (my wife and I) were not bothered by the noisy atmosphere. The food was really great! Uncle Jim's steak tartare is especially recommended. So far I haven't had a tasty variant elsewhere. I wouldn't hesitate to take a detour again just for that. In short, a nice shop that is worth a try!

Erg lekker gegeten met een 3 gangen Social Deal menu. Jim's Burger voor mijn vrouw, lekker dik en uit eigen keuken en dat was te zien en te proeven. Voor mij de steak, perfect gegaard volgens mijn wensen en het een heel erg lekkere jus. Een restaurant om zeker te onthouden bij een volgend bezoek aan Utrecht. Leuk en aardig jong personeel.
