On Thursday evening, September 17th, we wanted to end the late-night shopping with a nice ice cream sundae. Together with my daughter, we found a spot upstairs because downstairs was full. Next to the balustrade with a view of the otherwise beautiful shop. We quickly found what we wanted on the menu. And then... literally nothing happened! At least, not on our end; downstairs there was plenty to do: tapping tea towels between the staff members, seeing who could carry whom on their shoulders, discussing who we liked and who we didn't, occasionally scooping an ice cream for customers at the counter, and then getting back to busy with each other. Didn't they see us? Of course they did; there was even eye contact between us upstairs and them downstairs, but nothing happened. Aren't you serving upstairs? Just say so, and we'll come down, but even communicating was too much to ask, because someone still had to be hit with a tea towel. After half an hour of staring without an ice cream, we left, and here too, nothing was said or said. A pity...

We always come here for ice cream whenever we visit Enschede, the quality is always the same and today we tried tiramisu ice cream and iced coffee they were delicious as expected.

Excellent service, the coffee is great, and thank you for the free ice cream with your coffee purchase. However, I would recommend changing the flavor of the free ice cream since you're already drinking coffee. Coffee ice cream is very strong coffee flavor. I recommend another classic flavor, like vanilla or caramel. But thank you very much! 🫶

A nice environment, but unfriendly staff! She didn't want us to go upstairs and said the upper floor was only for special orders! Even though the ground floor was completely full of customers! She didn't behave properly!

I found it very disappointing. For the price of 2 euros, I expect normal scoops like they do in Hengelo, not half scoops. I had the Lemon Cookie and Cream flavor myself, and there were honestly zero cookies in it. I will go to Hengelo if I want ice cream.

Whether it is cold or warm outside, this ice cream always tastes exquisite. I have also tried an ice cream cake: delicious. For me, visiting Enschede is invariably also a "vanderpoelen" experience.

After a lovely day of shopping in Enschede, I had some time to spare before my train arrived – and ended up at Van der Poel. I had a latte macchiato outside and received very friendly service. The latte was absolutely delicious, and as a little bonus, they gave me a scoop of mocha ice cream – divine! 😋 The ice cream was so amazing that I'll definitely try a large sundae next time. Highly recommended – great atmosphere, excellent service, and pure indulgence! 🍨☕

It's really good. The ice-cream stays in the cone (so it's properly frozen, others locally can be half melted already.) They have many varieties, there's always something exciting to choose, or the usual.

Nice staff, speak German, delicious coffee and ice cream, nice atmosphere and close to the train station.

This branch know how to do it right, they work clean you see that was king they’re hands and never seen anything unhygienic here. Even in summer when it’s really buzzy they don’t reflect any moods at the customers, something I’ve seen in the other branches several times. Here they’re trained to the job and its hygiene routine and the other branches can take an example from them.

It is a busy place, but because there were enough staff, we were helped quickly by a nice boy. Tried concrete ice cream, nice but not my taste. But we are fans of mint ice cream with chocolate pieces. It was delicious here. You can sit in the shop and we met the seller. He thought mint ice cream tasted like toothpaste. Hahaha. 2 scoops on a cone 3.40.
