The food was actually quite good and the service friendly. However, during our visit, we saw a mouse in the kitchen and dining area, which is unacceptable. We then spoke to the staff, and they already knew about the infestation. The fact that this restaurant is still open... Hygiene should be the top priority in a restaurant. It's a shame. I hope the problem is resolved quickly.

We ordered a gluten-free pizza for my son, who's celiac. It was OK, but unfortunately right after the meal he started suffering from the usual symptoms, for the first time in many months, and had a belly ache for two days, which rather ruined our stay in the Hague. We strongly suspect the pizza was not indeed gluten-free, or at least contaminated. They should pay more attention, the celiac disease is not a fad, it's indeed a disease for many people.

I went to Vapiano in Utrecht today, and was incredibly disappointed when I waited 30+ minutes for a bowl of bolognese pasta that was cold by the time I had it. The staff were incredibly incompetent and hadn't served my food because they couldn't find my table (mind you the tables are numbered). During that already unpleasant experience the fire alarm went off! We didn't even get informed on why it went off and were sat there whilst the staff ignored it. Completely unpleasant experience, I do not recommend.

You are supposed to order using a qr-code, but the code is difficult to read and the website doesn't work, I had to order at the counter. They have 4 levels of spiciness and I ordered the lowest one, but what came would be considered very spicy in any Italian (-like) restaurant. The pasta was supposed to be al dente but it was in fact uncooked soft pasta, it feels very heavy after eating. And it's too expensive for this kind of fast-food.

Vapiano, what's this? The staff (a short, stout man with dreads) refused to get salt and pepper. He said, "Get it yourself from another table." It turned out... he was still fixated on my table, staring at it. A little later, when my 4-year-old son grabbed fries from his bag, he called inside to tell him it wasn't allowed. If he were to gobble down a whole batch of fries without a second thought, I'd understand, but seriously, a 4-year-old!!! Grabbing fries himself? He's a child, right? He had plenty of energy for that, but you, as a customer, have to get salt and pepper yourself. Leave your food and table unattended. I had the manager wrap my food up for me, because I didn't care if I sat there another 5 minutes. He also knew exactly what he'd done and went outside. Vapiano Buitenhof, you'll never see me again.

This has to be by far the worst Italian food I've ever had, in a setting that makes the average operating room resemble a four-star hotel (even "My Pasta" on Vlamingstraat in The Hague is slightly better). As you sit down at the table, the cold air from the glass facade greets you, which isn't exactly comforting, but oh well. It's autumn, so adjust your restaurant accordingly. We had the pasta carbonara and the lasagna. The pasta carbonara was cold and lukewarm at the same time upon first bite; I have no idea what happened to it. You always have to blow on pasta, because comfort food should be nice and warm. The lasagna had no flavor because it had clearly been frozen (for a long time?) and too much ice water had been added. You could also tell by how extremely watery this oven dish was, which "probably" came from the microwave. Furthermore, the prices for soft drinks are incredibly high, at €4.50. The staff was excellent, although it's a very impersonal restaurant. No, we'll never be back. Welcome back, see you soon! Tip: Get some ideas at "Happy Italy." It's also the McDonald's of Italian food, but at least the food is good.

Bad service!!!! The guy in the kitchen with curly hair was so unprofessional! I pointed out that the pasta I'd had wasn't Alfredo because it didn't have Alfredo sauce! He started arguing with me! As if I don't know what Alfredo sauce tastes like! There was no sauce anywhere!!! It was just made with butter! I'll never come back! You don't even deserve one star!

We used to go 3/4 times per year, but this was the worst and the last. Food quality has been going down, but one thing cannot go any lower was the service. The restaurant was almost empty, but food took ages and arrived randomly, being the children the last to be served. The ordered menus for the children included icecream that we never received because they claimed that they didn't have any, we offered the chance to provide any alternatives but clearly they didn't care to leave unsatisfied customers that will never return to the restaurant with their friends as we've been doing for years now.

The service was horrible, couldn't pay cash from the app so I had to go downstairs to the register where the person had a bad attitude and asked me to go to the table upstairs to get the table number (which is okay) when I went back down I was waiting for 10mins because the person was not there and when they came back they had an even worse attitude. Then the food came in, the pizza was half cooked, so we asked if they can put it in the oven a bit more, but they wouldn't, the pasta was good with very big shrimp. Horrible experience wouldn't go again or recommend it to anyone.

After searching, I only found three pine nuts. The bag of cheese was ridiculous, so little. A real disappointment!

Dear Vapiano Team, I also sent this to you as an email but received no response. I am writing to share feedback from my recent visit to the Vapiano Buitenhof Friday 10th August (approx 18:00). I was there with a friend who is a frequent customer and had recommended Vapiano to me. While the food preparation took a bit longer and I understand that delays can happen, the way my friend who had a question about the waiting time was treated did not sit right with me. About 30 minutes after placing our order, she asked the staff member at the bar if he could give her an estimate on when her food would be ready, as she had to catch a train and wanted to know if takeaway would be possible in case it would take longer. He told her in a quite brash tone that it will take an hour and that she can’t take it away, and when she asked if a refund was possible in that case, he replied “no,” and told her she can try to contact customer service online. In the end, the food arrived, but given my friend’s previous positive experiences with Vapiano, I was surprised by how dismissive this interaction was. The staff member in question did not appear to be particularly busy at the time (other than making a few drinks) and spent much of the period talking to a man in a blue hoodie at the bar. In contrast, our waiter was very friendly which made the difference in attitude stand out even more. I am not writing in expectation of compensation, but rather to bring this to your attention so it can be addressed internally. My friend has always spoken highly of Vapiano, and I hope future visits will reflect the quality of service she is used to.

Worst service ever. I ordered two lattes, two cocktails, and two cakes. The first latte arrived without a spoon. I asked if I could have a spoon, but it didn't arrive. I was given a Red Bull even though I'd ordered a watermelon Red Bull. It went back and arrived 10 minutes later. I should have asked for a ride again. My dessert didn't arrive until 20 minutes later; I had to ask where it was.

We recently visited Vapiano, and while our experience had a bit of a rocky start, it turned out to be a really lovely visit overall. My friend ordered a coffee that unfortunately tasted quite burnt. When she initially asked one of the waitresses if it could be changed, the response she received was a bit unpleasant and left us feeling a little disappointed. However, not long after, another waitress named Ruby came over — and she completely turned the experience around. Ruby was incredibly kind, understanding, and accommodating. She immediately offered to replace the coffee without hesitation and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy throughout the rest of our meal. Her warm attitude truly made a difference and left a lasting impression. The food itself was absolutely delicious — flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. Thanks to Ruby’s attentiveness and the quality of the food, we ended up having a genuinely enjoyable time. We really appreciated the way the situation was handled in the end, and we’d happily return again. Just hoping all the staff can follow Ruby’s example — she’s a star!

Outside tables dirty not maintained QR code did not work- we asked someone to clean the table, and they said they will bring a waiter to take the order, nobody came. After trying to order online 2 times, they apologised and told me to order in person. They could not accommodate the free dessert which comes with ordering online, and they did not give the loyalty points as they are again only for online orders. All in all nobody cared to make up for the poor online system they use and for the inconvenience caused. This experience left me not wanting to come back.

The food was delicious, the lady who served me was cheerful and neat. But the lady who came to water the plants at the tables, she was grumpy. I greeted her with a "good afternoon" and thanked her kindly. But not a word came out of her mouth or a smile on her face. Too bad. Even when you leave the place, they hardly look at you. As if you are just a number. For this reason I actually don't want to go back, customer friendliness is so important in a restaurant. Unfortunately, very disappointing... I've always been a fan of Vapiano and enjoyed going there in various cities. It's deteriorated on several levels over the years: Food: My linguine pomodoro was OK, but nothing more. The pasta stuck together and wouldn't roll up at all. The portion was okay, but to be expected for the high price. My partner had spaghetti, which was a complete disaster. A single pile of super-thin spaghetti that formed into a sticky lump in the mouth – almost inedible. The sauce was OK, too. Service: Virtually nonexistent. Ordering and payment are only possible in advance via the app (so complaints are basically pointless, since the food has already been paid for). Payment is quite complicated; it took us three attempts – in the meantime, no one asked if we needed help. Conclusion: It's becoming more and more of an overpriced fast-food chain. After this experience, I'll never go back.

We were there on Thursday evening, Ascension Day, it was busy. We ordered food. I had a risotto funghi, my husband a calzone. My risotto arrived quite quickly. It was fine. My husband's calzone hadn't arrived yet when I had long since finished eating. After 40 minutes I asked where it was. The waiter went to ask and came back after 10 minutes with the message that it would take another 5 minutes. And although they say we do our best to serve everything at the same time as much as possible, that didn't happen at most tables, but not at ours. Customers who came after us were also served at the same time. Very bad! He finally got his pizza 45 minutes after my meal. Crazy. And when you ask for the manager, an employee says: yes, he's downstairs. No apology, nothing from any employee. The calzone wasn't really filled either. Lots of dough, little filling. A real shame.

The staff was super friendly. They even spoke German. Unlike other Vapiano branches, the food is delivered to your table. We ordered pasta, which was very, very tasty. Definitely recommend it.

The chain is a frequent spot for us on vacation. This time we were there twice a week on holiday. Compared to the previous year, little has changed. What was positive was that the drinks were delivered super quickly after ordering. The children's menu was also great. On the first visit my pizza was better because the dough was very fluffy and not burnt, so my child could decide what she liked to eat and enjoyed the pizza well. Unfortunately, on the second visit the pizza wasn't as good, but I still found it tasty. What was possible through the visits is the comparison of the employees. There was no noticeable difference in the service, but there was in the kitchen. Overall, it's worth a visit.

Terrible service! We tried to find what we wanted to order using the QR code, we couldn't so someone came and took our order. We paid and within 5 minutes they told us that the bruschetta was no longer available. We switched to Caprese salad. Another 5mins and they said that the asparagus is finished so the basil chicken dish will be incomplete. We said ok just add other extra vegetables. The staff walks away and says this is impossible. Fortunately another staff member stopped by and we asked why extra other vegetables were so difficult since there was no more asparagus and she said she could help us get extra spinach instead. We were content... 45mins later, we started wondering why our food was not ready while we watched three tables that came a long while after we ordered being served. After trying to wave down the servers many times to ask what happened to our order my husband's dish finally arrived! Hurrah! Nope, the staff were determined to annoy us I guess. They put in a ridiculous amount of chili!!! *See picture* The dish was basically inedible. Yes, we asked for "hot" like Italian hot! We lived in Thailand for 10 years and we know what "hot and spicy" is...and this was an insane amount of chili for an "Italian" restaurant. We left trying to tell the manager about our difficult experience but she was entirely unapologetic and unsympathetic. We learned our lesson--never again! Be forewarned!

We were given a table right in front of the doorway. Every time people came in you felt a cold gust of wind coming in. Inside it looks cozy and there is plenty of space to sit. Service took a little longer, Pasta Bolognese was slightly overpowering in taste. Decent food, not great.

Terrible! They delivered the wrong pizza. When I called, I returned it. Two hours later, they returned with an old, cold pizza. I called again and explained the situation, but I didn't get a new pizza or a refund. Moreover, the staff weren't friendly. Ordering from here? Absolutely not!

It's a food warehouse! Be careful, they don't pay for the transport of food and temperature-controlled goods! I did the transport for them and I issued the transport invoice, but at the end of the trip I received a fake payment slip! I never received the money! I'm attaching a photo.
