The place is nice, food was great, staff was knowledgeable and friendly. It would be nice if they played some music, it was very quiet when we went.

I think you might be missing a screw from some equipment - good news, I found it. Unfortunately, it was in my biryani. 😅 Food was actually tasty, but metal definitely wasn’t one of the toppings I ordered. Hopefully this helps you find where it came from and prevent it happening again.

Unfamiliar with Indian cuisine beforehand, but received an excellent explanation from the host. A wonderful introduction to this tasty cuisine.

This is truly a vegetarian heaven. We had a delicious meal here! We will definitely be back.

Delicious food and great service!

Been a regular to this place, visited after long and noticed that menu has completely changed with many starters now part of thali. Was disappointed that the kids item like wedges are also removed. The items like kachori did not taste fresh like before, the best hit was the tandoori sizzler. Lassi was also watery. Will suggest to restore the essence and run the restaurant with smile perhaps.

We had a delicious meal! We were looking for a vegetarian restaurant for Grandma because the vegetarian choices at other restaurants had been disappointing in the past. The food here was so flavorful and the service was very friendly.

DO NOT visit this restaurant if you are looking for authentic Indian food. I went reading good reviews and high ratings but I realised it later that people who rated high were generally non Indians and do not understand the real flavours or taste of every dish. Food is absolutely bland n tasteless. Staff does not inform any ingredient changes or menu also does not mention it. I ordered mango lassi which i had to return back since it did not had yogurt or any familiar flavour , the owners later said it was made of coconut milk which I will never imagine mango lassi will be having it unless they mention it somewhere. Rest curries were all frozen tasteless n flavourless. Litti was uncooked doughball from inside. Only mix veg n bhatura was fine chole, kofta, dum alu all very disappointing. I literally wasted my mood and weekend eating this , don’t want this to happen with anyone else. Updating my review: As mentioned above , if an original dish is tweaked with innovation, it should be mentioned in the menu. Secondly whatever innovated dish you serve should hv taste in it. I repeat be it traditional or innovative, it should hv taste , u can’t serve an half cooked dough ball in the name of litti. The chola you served with bhatura lacked basic spiciness or tanginess.

Can only say positive things about the food and the service! I am not from India, but spent a few months there and one of my favorite parts of the experience was the amazing food. It left me noticing the difference between traditional Indian and "Dutch-ified" Indian, and here I definitely felt the flavors were familiar to what I had in South India. You can tell the traditional spices are used and there were unique flavors in the Thali and the Starter mix that I never had before, very fun experience for the tastebuds! Of course something like a lassi will taste different here, since dairy products are avoided on the full menu - which was awesome for me as a vegan! :)

We had an amazing experience. Food was delicious, staff was incredibly friendly and they really looked like they are doing everything they do with lots of love. Us being tourists was also no problem at all. I would love to come back some time because we had such a great time!

Friendly owner that explained us how to eat some of the food during pickup. The food itsself tasted amazing and generous amounts, I just had the remainder as my lunch the day after. I highly recommend giving this a try and I will order again

Overpriced ann overrated! The ambience is a bit wierd and felt a bit odd for a restaurant. We hoped for a place in the corner but were forced to take the seat in the centre while the restaurant was almost empty with many free tables. The food quantities are less and priced very high. The quality and taste of the food was just okay. There were some mix ups with the food that we ordered but that wasn’t something we complain since they responded well by acknowledging their mistake. In the middle of the dinner there was some loud noise that went on for 10-15min which ruined the evening even more for us, as if the bad food and poor ambience was not enough. Overall had a pretty bad experience and the high rating is not at all justified based on what we experienced.

We ordered food through uber eats...firstly we recieved our order in almost 3hrs and it was not at all satisfactory. Haryali tandoori platter was having 3 pieces of paneer with raw vegetables(brocolli, cauliflower) with almost zero flavour. Litti choka was not the same which it happened to be earlier in terms of both quantity and quality. €21.50 is surely overpriced for such normal food. We have been there customer since long but now I can say it's not worth at all.

As a vegan, I had a very good meal here. There was plenty of choice, and various dietary requirements were clearly taken into account. The dishes were flavorful and carefully prepared. What I appreciated was that the contents of each dish were calmly explained. The staff really took the time for this, which made the experience personal. You can tell that attention is paid to both the food and the guests.

One of my friends booked this restaurant for my birthday and I will say hands-down it is the best service I have ever experienced at a restaurant in the Netherlands, with a real homely and family vibe. The staff really made me and my guests feel treated and cared for. I am vegan so finding a restaurant that was exclusively vegan and Vegetarian options was incredible. They ended up bringing out an entirely vegan cake with Indian inspired flavors, such as saffron and cardamom, and it was one of the best vegan cakes that I have tasted. They also mentioned that they can make cakes according to any dietary requirements for example gluten-free or lactose free. In terms of starters, I would highly recommend trying their pani puris. They turned it into even more of an experience than eating pani puri already is, the presentation was incredible. Their no chicken butter Chicken was also among the better vegan butter chickens I’ve tried in my life. Hands down will go back!

A random restaurant I ran into on a business trip. Lovely informal family atmosphere with friendly people and lots of exciting dishes to choose from. Highly recommended.

Delicious food, friendly service!

We arrived at opening time 4 pm yesterday. The restaurant's vibe is nice, but not enough to give above 1 star for the following reasons: 1- The food was very expensive, perhaps we could've looked for another restaurant after seeing the menu, but it was in a very remote area far from other restaurants, so going to another place is another 30-45 mins of not having food. 30.5 euros for their dishes designed for 1 person is quite a lot. Their curries range between 21 to 25 euros, in comparison to Maharani in the centre per example within the same price range which has a much cosier vibe, Maharani has a cheaper range of prices but still give 3 complimentary dishes + chutneys, which justifies the prices. 2- The Tikka Masala was flavourful but the salt was extremely overpowering. The Banarasi Bhoj Thali was very expensive but included interesting flavours, 3 out of the many small items on the tray stood out, the rest were average, the salad was below average. 3- No tap water for guests is always a negative, and will always leave a bad feeling with guests. Sure a restaurant is a business to make money, but part of that is taking care of clients. If your dishes are already that expensive, I don't think this justifies the need. 4- The menu says there are complimentary chutneys which are pretty standard in Indian restaurants. These were never served, when asked about them, the waiter (possibly owner) said that they were not prepared yet cause we arrived early (which was opening time, so not early). I would understand that if this is not ready the least you could do in this case is to compensate with tap water or anything really. Overall based on the remote location, the high prices, and the below average service, we do not recommend this restaurant based on our experience, we do note that the restaurant is well reviewed by others and it may be the time we chose. It doesn't justify necessarily since it's within opening hours.

Much cozier than I thought! And the food is really fantastic. It doesn't matter if you're not a vegetarian! Enjoy!

This is the place to get Indian food in The Hague! The depth of flavor is insane. As a vegetarian I also appreciate having so many options to choose from. I don’t often leave reviews, but this place deserves high praise.

Update 2026 : As usual , we made our dinner stop at Veggiesaurus when we travelled westwards. The vibe and ambience is upgraded and the taste of food is as authentic as ever. My husband got the thali and I had kachori chat. They let us try the new desserts in the menu- vegan profiteroles and cupcakes . The cream is so light and perfectly sweetened and the texture is just crunchy enough is that it melts in your mouth . Must try for your next visit! I was there for the 'Holi Thali' of 2023. There were 56 different items presented on this special occassion. It was a week ago and I still miss the taste of mirchi bhajji, Shrikhand, Churma, Baingan Bhartha, Alu Palak, turmeric curry, cactus curry... the list can go on! You can easily tell that the chef is very passionate about food and cooking. I have been there on non-thali days and the samosa chaat is outstanding!

We always come back to Veggiesaurus! The food is original and tasty and the owner is always very considerate and sweet. Children are also welcome. We went there with our toddler who didn't want to eat anything. So the owner got him his favourite: a bell pepper! He let him play and do his thing, which is rare in restaurants. We were very happy to see that he made us feel so comfortable. The only star that is missing is because it was a quiet day. But for the rest: one of our favourite places to go!

Delicious indian food, tastes like ‘in India’. Restaurant setting has a nice welcoming atmosphere; and form the dishes can really recommend the Kachoti Chaad as starter. The host is really interested to make sure you have an enjoyable dinner to your liking.

An experience for me to remember even if I have never been to India I still felt in a beautiful and welcoming environment

We recently hosted a baby shower at this restaurant for dinner, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and clearly prepared with care. Additionally, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the atmosphere even more pleasant. The owner actively helped us with our wishes, which was greatly appreciated. As the icing on the cake, they had prepared a separate dessert table for us, which added a really nice and personal touch to the evening. All in all, a very successful experience and highly recommended!

We had a fantastic evening at Veggiesaurus. As vegetarians, it is always nice to be able to choose from the entire menu. Moreover, we were served the best Indian food we have eaten outside of India. Everything was prepared with flavor and beautifully presented. The service was very attentive and incredibly friendly. And our dog was welcome too. We will definitely be back! That was absolutely terrible! Ordered 27 euros for a chef's meal. A small bowl of mush, no idea what it is? And no rice with it for that price. Just sauce????? Just to be clear, we also paid an extra 5 euros for naan bread (see receipt)! Thick, tasteless dough. I threw it straight into the trash. A total waste of my money; I'm still hungry now, so I'll just order something else. This is the first time I've received something this bad. You can see in the photo how small it is. I am mega disappointed, but also with your response because you are now stating that I chose naan instead of rice. As you can see on the receipt yourselves, that is what I paid for. Apart from the amount, it just really wasn't tasty. See the photos for yourself.

Very friendly staff who will patiently explain the menu. Good portions and good food. It can be very spicy if you are not used to it.

We ate here for the first time today and had the Veggiesaurus Signature Thali with a choice of three different curries, rice, various breads, and other snacks. It was delicious and a great way to sample different flavors. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant, despite the somewhat remote location.

Food was mediocre at best and quite overpriced. This place serves water for 6.85€, even though the menu says 2.75€. The host was rude and unwelcoming. (When I confronted the host about being overcharged for the water, he said it’s for a big bottle, but then why don’t you put it on the menu? This is a scam)

The food is perfectly spiced and very flavorful. We would recommend both dishes we ordered: the vegetable biryani and the palak paneer. The atmosphere is chill and the service pleasant and attentive. The food seems overpriced, especially since the restaurant is located in the lobby of a budget hotel and there are no meats or alcoholic drinks on the menu. For 2 people, our bill was nearly 60 €. The biryani was over 30 €! And even a small bottle of sparkling water was over 3 €. To be fair, the biryani was large enough for two people to share it, so that’s what we will do if we come here again. (And we will get takeout and have our drinks at home ;) ) Edit: my mistake, the biryani is 23 €. I do think that the restaurant (which has often stood empty when I have walked by during the dinner hour) would be more popular if it were less expensive, given the location. Or maybe that’s not it? Maybe there just aren’t that many vegetarians here? Either way, the dishes we tried were delicious!

There's always a very cozy and welcoming atmosphere where you immediately feel welcome. The decor is always seasonal, which is fantastic! Vegan food is delicious and clearly prepared with great care and love. The flavors are surprising, and the dishes are beautifully presented. The staff is incredibly friendly and really takes their time with you, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. It's a lovely place where I often love to return for good food and a relaxing moment.

A nice, quiet place for vegetarian food. Authentic Indian food. Spicy, yes. You can also ask for it to be reduced. Pani puri is highly recommended.

I am adding a my comment here because the owner below has mentioned that they havent found any record of my visit. I was not asked my name when we walked in. The restaurant was very cold. My starter was cold (khaman) just out from the refrigerator. i ordered samosa chaat and the portion of the chaat was very small. My main course was ok but I expected a better Thali which I can easily find in other indian restaurants in The Hague.

A really lovely restaurant! The waiter was incredibly friendly and very helpful in helping us decide what to order. When he realized we couldn't decide, he recommended the thali – we highly recommend it too! The appetizer platter was also simply amazing! Be warned about the "spicy" – by European standards, it's very, very spicy; you need to be used to spicy food. The restaurant itself is very inviting, however, we were both quite cold – hence the one-star deduction for ambiance.
