Ordered fries & snacks here for delivery. I have truly never in my life eaten such bad fries, and the extremely gross part was that the fries taste like bacon. Apparently, they throw their fries in with the snacks when they fry them; this isn't even allowed! So, so gross.

I didn’t eat even here Im living nearby and this place should be closed because of what it does to neighbourhood. Noise, fights, of these kids who work there or being there all the time is just crazy.

Going especially to Verhage for the vegetable croquettes. Because they are delicious!

For good soft ice cream, this is the place to be.

Just sat for over an hour and a half with a group of 13 people and left because the food arrived in stages, was wrong, and orders didn't arrive at all. Demanded a refund when we had had enough. Received a refund for what we didn't get, and were offered a milkshake and ice cream for this poor state of affairs. This was the first and last time here.

I have had several problems at this Verhage. 1. The staff member is not cheerful at all, and half of them are just standing there for show. I also saw an employee cleaning her nails with a satay stick used for packaging the food. This is, of course, extremely unprofessional and unhygienic. 2. I often have trouble with not receiving items or getting them without sauce. I also asked for a croquette and was charged for a small portion of fries. I find all of this very unfortunate because the food is good, but the experience every time makes it less and less enjoyable.

I came here to eat this week, and I noticed that it is quite hot. I got a terrible headache because it is hot inside, and there were no seats outside. I have eaten here before as well, and I noticed then that the staff were very nice, but due to the heat they looked tired, probably because there was a lot of shouting and there was no fan or air conditioning. The employer or manager did not look happy, and that was evident because the manager treated the staff extremely negatively; this was noticeable because he shouted and made comments like: “it’s not hot enough to make such a fuss”.

Great experience eating on-site. The burger is generously topped and comes with a very large portion of well-fried fries. The order was brought to our table quickly. It is nice that there are several vegetarian options. Taking the order could indeed be done with a bit more interest and/or friendliness.

I can still clearly remember stopping by here in my younger years. Back then, Verhage was synonymous with divinity. I’ve been here a few times recently, and time after time, I was disappointed. Never again from now on. The staff always look grumpy, as if they’re thinking, "Don't bother me, I was just watching a video on my phone!" Especially the blonde young lady who often stands behind the counter looks like she just came from a funeral. At first, I thought she was working alone, until a young man suddenly started cleaning the tables. How is it possible that I didn't recognize him as staff right away? I still doubt whether it was because of his sagging sweatpants and black down jacket, or because he had been staring at his phone the whole time before that. When I entered, I was the only one in the place, yet I still saw several dirty tables with plates/drink cartons on them. Maybe the staff should put their phones away for a change and keep the place a bit clean. The food was mediocre, not very bad but not very good either.

If you don't know anything about deep-fried food, you'd say, "Hmm, what tasty fries." But absolutely not. There, an employee or owner indicates, "Yes, sometimes the supplier provides good fries and sometimes bad ones." Is that a problem for the customer or for you? I used to go there often, but I won't be returning.

Went here because of positive stories, but I think we were just unlucky. Ordering at the counter was a hassle... the girl didn't understand it or just wasn't in the mood. You hear my daughter say she wants a toasted sandwich, but as soon as she walks away, you say that you serve toasted sandwiches until five o'clock. Couldn't you have said that right away? Then the food arrived: wrong sauces and only 3 plates while there were 4 of us. Everything was arranged incorrectly on the plates. I asked for an extra plate, but it didn't come. Swapped the sauces ourselves at the counter. Regarding the food, how can the fries be lukewarm if you eat them inside? The curry was sour and the mayonnaise ice cold, but the cola was warm? Something isn't quite right. 3 portions of "war" sauce, of which only 1 was truly 50/50 mayonnaise and peanut sauce. The other two were 90/10. And the croquette wasn't hot either? Got a stomach ache from the food. I might come here again for an ice cream, but not for food anymore.

What a great snack bar! At Verhage, you are always served in a friendly manner and the quality of the food is truly amazing. The fries are nice and crispy, the snacks are fresh and well prepared, and you can tell that attention is paid to everything they make. The place itself is also neat and clean, which makes it extra pleasant to sit down here for a while or pick up your food. The service is fast and with a smile – you don't see that everywhere anymore! Whether you are in the mood for a quick bite or just want to enjoy some good snacks, this is definitely highly recommended. I will certainly be coming back here more often! 🙌

The managers at Verhage are very friendly; you are greeted with "good afternoon" right from the door. The staff is also friendly.

Eating there is fine, but as soon as you order or pick up, mistakes are always made, time and again. You either get home and half your food is warm and half is cold, or your order is incomplete or defective. I picked up food there today and ordered fries with satay sauce. Once home, I saw that I just got mayonnaise instead of satay sauce. I called them, and 18 minutes later someone shows up with a container of satay sauce, even though I live next door. You should have at least brought warm fries, or did you think I'd want cold ones?

I've been coming here to eat for years and it never disappoints!! Always delicious food and good service, and delivery is quite fast.

Just got a sandwich. The bread was so incredibly hard and dry you could smash a window with it. Seriously, it was so hard and dried out, it was inedible. But then you're already home by the time you find out. This was definitely my last time here... The staff was also disinterested.

Grumpy, unfriendly service. Three menus and two separate dishes. We had to go back eight times to get what we ordered. Bacon was forgotten on the burgers, fries were cold, and sauces were forgotten. The staff were all on their phones and disinterested. Bacon from a microwave, poor-quality beef with chamois in it. Terrible place, terrible service, and dirty tables. I will never come back here again.

It's not what it used to be. We went back for dinner after many years. The food was good, but it was incredibly crowded and messy. Tables weren't clean. Mistakes were being made around us with serving and paying. Chairs were crooked and there was a lot of trash on the floor, instead of everything being neatly cleaned after guests left. The staff didn't seem to be able to handle the crowds well, even though they really did their best and were friendly. We won't be back, which is a shame.

It started right from the moment I ordered. I had questions about the pricing, and after the 14-year-old girl at the counter explained it, I said, "I still don't get it." The answer I got was, "We do." No, okay. Great that you understand, but I find the prices listed very vague (Mexican food with a choice of sauce, but then I still ordered the sauce, etc.). Then we had to wait a really long time for our food, and absolutely nothing about the order was correct. So we returned half of it and waited even longer. I think the food was overcooked three times because the fries were TOO crispy, the croquette was completely black, and the Mexican food was dry from being fried too long. Where you used to get sauce on your snack, snack bars now want to make more money by selling it separately in containers. It's funny, the whole family is sitting there with five half-containers of sauce because now you get so much sauce you can't eat it all. But they're charging almost a euro per container. Good move, but not really. As long as we earn more, that's probably the idea. My daughter ordered a children's menu with a toy. What did she get? A box of sidewalk chalk, which is useless at that moment. Who comes up with this? When we got home, we all smelled like deep fryer. Man, this was a bad decision to eat there. Never again.

Terrible, disinterested staff who bring your order six times. My €5.50 hogweed was barely warm, the onion was still raw! The €8.65 "steak" hamburger needs to be microwaved. Microwaved... not recommended; you're better off going to McDonald's.

Horrible place. Had to wait an hour for our food with three small children, only to discover they hadn't even started yet. The staff responded, "You can see we're busy." Finally, I gave them another 10 minutes, and then I asked for my money back. Nothing but misery and rude staff. We didn't even get to taste the food; we'll never come back.

You're letting online orderers go first, not customers in the store. You're losing customers this way. I stood in line for 15 minutes only to hear the final score that you're no longer taking orders. If you had, you could have just said you weren't taking orders from the start. Now you've lost a customer. I'm never coming back!

Yesterday, August 30th, we ordered with 4 adults and 4 children, and an hour later, still no food. Lines were full of people ordering and receiving their food. We went inside and asked where our food was. The receipt was nowhere to be found, and they kept saying, "We're busy, busy, busy." People behind us and in the store have also been waiting for an hour. If you know your competitor, De Kwalitatia, is closed, make sure you have more staff and don't have 12-year-olds working the cash register when it's so busy. And Mr. Owner, work on your attitude, man. This way, you'll definitely make customers go to your competitor. And make sure you have more and decent staff who don't come across as arrogant as if they don't care that it's busy. In short, with this attitude and this staff, I hope something gets done about this. We'll definitely be out of Verhage after this attitude from these people.

Ordered two evenings in a row. The first evening, it still hadn't arrived an hour after the agreed-upon time, so we went to the store. Apparently, the food was already ready, still warm, meaning it wouldn't be ready on time. Ordered again the second evening, thinking it was just a mistake. It was supposed to arrive at 6:15, and by 7:00, it still hadn't arrived. The first time I called, the only response was "the store is busy." The second time, it took an hour to arrive. I won't be ordering again.

Unbelievably bad service. We had to wait two hours for our food to be delivered. After an hour, we called to ask where it was. "We're on our way," was the answer. After an hour and a half, we called again, and again, "We're on our way," was the answer. They promised it would be delivered within 10 minutes. After two hours, we called again, only to discover the order hadn't even been placed. Apparently, placing the order by phone was too difficult, so we just went to pick it up. Then, they laughed at you behind your back as you walked away. Unbelievable, you should be ashamed of yourselves!

An hour and a half after the agreed delivery time, still nothing received.

We ordered food, and it was supposed to arrive at 6:30 PM. An hour later, it still hadn't arrived. After calling 10 times, someone finally answered and told us to come into the store.

My order never arrived. When I tried to contact them by phone, they didn't answer. No response to emails either.

The food was delicious and we were served quickly. The staff was very friendly, and I'll definitely be back!

Had lunch here. After an hour and a half, we finally got two sandwiches. People after us got their food even earlier. Why they're on a social deal is baffling. There was no fresh juice, no white bread for the toasted sandwich. The staff (two people) couldn't handle it. I'll never come here again.

Yesterday, all the preschoolers in my class and no fewer than 13 parents enjoyed a delicious soft serve ice cream! A warm welcome...we'll be back next school year 😃

Today I handed in a voucher at Verhage. What a delicious lunch we had, friendly staff, cozy atmosphere and very large portions. The lunch was also ready quickly. Recommended!

Good service fries are always good. The owner is nice and even tasted the vegetarian chicken, delicious!

The food is really tasty.. but unfortunately the staff is really unmotivated. They stand there like a bunch of salt bags. The girls would rather look away. Not a smile on their faces. The manager also stands there as if he would rather not be there. It is so unsociable when you enter and there are 3 girls behind the counter and they all look at you..but no one says hello or hello. And this is really not meant to be unkind, because the food is good and tasty. But do something about this. This has been like this for years unfortunately. A friendly smile does half the job. You should see yourselves standing there. So unsociable. And I hesitated for a long time to post this. But after tonight I will.

Since the new owner arrived, the whole place has been turned upside down. Cheap snacks and junk thrown in the microwave. They literally buy frikandels from Lidl and sell them to you!!! Burgers go into the microwave and the employees look at you like you're an alien. If you want a tasty bite in Vathorst, there are better options. Avoid Verhage at all costs!

Neat snack bar for home delivery, pick-up, but you can also eat in the restaurant section. Wide choice on the menu. There was a time when you could place your order via the QR on your table, but the last time we were there on 26-4-'25 you had to place your order at the counter and then you could take a seat in the restaurant. Friendly staff, but it was a bit messy as to which table to bring which order, they then asked if the order was for you. There are 3 different high chairs that have seen their best days, perhaps invest in 3 Ikea high chairs without a top, you can also easily slide them to a table. There is a small play kitchen for children.

Extremely bad cappuccino for a high price. Bowl of milk water for 3 euros 20. Outrageous! It couldn't be worse. 0 stars!!

The service is fine, but we had a hamburger that just had a sickening smell. Dry as cardboard, like trying to eat the sole of a shoe. They recreated this after discussion, during which we found out why the burger was so bad: it was heated in the microwave. Not just defrosted but really completely warmed up. Not to eat.

I ordered home delivery and it arrived 20 minutes later. The chicken burger was very tasty, and it came with a good amount of fries. Delivery person was also very nice, and this way it always works = always satisfied! Chicken fillet burger is highly recommended + it is halal

Had to wait half an hour for my order. Unbelievable, so many people in the kitchen, waiting for each other. Containers of orders were always opened in the kitchen to see what was inside. Other people's orders were completely lost.

Jip smelled rotten, we literally had to wait 30 minutes for chicken nuggets and satay. Service was incredibly bad, the gentleman radiated frustration and asked in an angry tone what we wanted to order when we said that we had already waited 15 minutes to even order. The gentleman did give us extra food and an extra drink because it took so long. Hence 2 stars. I SINCERELY do not recommend the place!

Bad experience at this snack bar – discrimination and long waiting time I recently went to this snack bar and I have to say it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I'm from Ghana and it was very clear that I was treated differently than the other customers. While white customers were served quickly and friendly, I deliberately had to wait much longer, even though I had ordered earlier. The staff barely looked at me and seemed annoyed when I asked how long it would take. Meanwhile, people who came in after me received their orders without any problems. This felt like pure discrimination and made me extremely uncomfortable. Food should bring people together, not divide them based on skin color. If you want to be treated respectfully, I recommend avoiding this snack bar. In any case, I will never come back here again!

Right now I'm 2 waiting for my 2nd cheeseburger. And there was a long hair in my cheeseburger…….. A new cheeseburger was only made for me after I asked for it myself. No apologies or anything like that. I also got the strong impression that I was not being taken seriously. Young giggling ladies behind the counter who didn't take the customer (me) seriously. Very customer unfriendly. Er In addition to the above, it is annoying that it is difficult to hear the music because the giggling ladies were very loud. Not a nice restaurant/snack bar. Food is mediocre, staff is anything but friendly. For a quick bite you're better off going somewhere else. And always those young people hanging around with those fat bikes in front of the door: anything but inviting to come in!

I don't know what happened here, but I won't be coming here anymore. First, it was cold inside; we ate with our coats on. Secondly, we took turns getting our food and there was quite some time in between. We were 5 people. At first you wait for each other, but that took so long that we decided to have dinner. The burgers, well, I make them better at home. Meat with a little mixed lettuce from a bag on top. Staff was slow and the delivery people hung around inside. Too bad, I know it differently.

The staff except the owner are scum. There is an unsafe atmosphere inside and outside. A lot of nuisance from loitering youth. Intimidation is the rule rather than the exception. Staff only cares about themselves and if the owner is not there, customers are treated poorly, if they are attended to at all. This snack bar is destroyed by petty criminals. Quality of food is reasonable.

The staff and service here is truly dramatic. Recently I had to wait 5 minutes for a simple soft ice cream, while three employees were working. There were zero other customers, no "hello", "I'll be right with you" or anything else. Really embarrassing, so we walked away after being ignored for a few minutes. There we saw staff member no. 3 smoking a nice cigarette. In addition, the quality of the food is also mediocre, such as potato chips that were not fried far enough and lukewarm croquettes (how difficult is deep-frying?)

What a great eatery this is! Amersfoort's finest. I had the tzatziki burger, which was delicious. Very friendly staff and very affordable. 👌

I have not received the complete order several times. Sandwiches and sauces that are missing, and when calling the business they don't answer. The food itself is fine, but if parts are missing it is not good.

Eaten here several times. Food tastes good. The staff is just not very customer friendly. They are not very interested in their work and your experience. Also long waiting time. Entire snack bar full of children who clearly don't feel like doing their work. There is clearly someone missing who is in charge because it really didn't make any sense. Ordered iced coffee, it was literally hot coffee with lumps of vanilla ice cream. I don't think this is the intention? Just put an adult in the store or close the doors if you don't have enough staff

The food had been getting cold for more than half an hour before the stated pick-up time, and when you call about it you are called a liar and there is no solution.

First of all, the young staff is very rude and literally laughs at you when you order something and shouts at each other about the orders (a red-haired girl and a girl with color), at first I thought it was a bit crazy but when I got my apple pie it was literally burned and the whipped cream was applied all over the apple pie, making my pie completely soggy and unedible. Maybe took 2 bites and was done with it, unable to eat it.

14 year old children work there and no one knows what to do. It takes an awfully long time. The children have had no training and don't know what is going on.

There are children who are just 13/14 years old working, while they are not allowed to work at this time and the food is cold. There is no system of how you get the food when you eat it there. Also, your food doesn't come at the same time and it's pure chaos. They are not told where the food should go. You can see the panic in their eyes and I really think it's quite bad that an employer thinks it's okay to run a business like this. You can tell that the 13/14 year olds are doing their best but have just been thrown in at the deep end.

The restaurant does not run smoothly, the employees do not know who ordered what and have to ask tables if it is correct. They bring food and drinks to the wrong tables and they forget the cutlery or maybe your sauce or drinks. The employees here all seem young, under legal age, they look 12. We asked for the age and got the answer of 13 and 14 and this was on a Friday evening which is not allowed by law. The children clearly have no experience and have to ask customers for help, it does not seem as if a supervisor is watching. The children try very hard, but it is not a pleasant experience for the customer or for the staff, it is just very sad to watch and you feel enormous pity. This is a restaurant full of child labor.

Lemon drink glass with ice cube to put the beer in. Cold fries with menu, new ones were supposed to come but finally I got them myself, menu almost finished but no fries yet. There are too many staff behind the counter +- 6 people, busier with each other than with customers, snacking on fries. And friends in and around the business. They are otherwise used to other branches where they also neatly take the order at the table, but here I went to the cash register after a while because no one came to answer. And it is not strange if you receive cold food upon delivery. The delivery person is chatting extensively with friends outside while the delivery is on the back of the bicycle. Waste of your money.
