Kroast, a well-known restaurant in Amersfoort, has truly fallen to rock bottom. The owner doesn't seem to care anymore; broken benches with blankets to cover them. The meat on the cheeseburger is truly awful. The service takes forever. It's fine if you want to serve me in English, but please politely indicate this instead of coming to your table and assuming the conversation will be in English. The meal itself took forever to prepare, and there was even space between meals. The amount of lettuce in a "salad" was so much that they didn't have room for anything else. Chef and owner, read this carefully: if you get a woman who wants a salad, it doesn't mean they're not hungry; it's a choice because there's nothing else to eat without meat. Could you make a little effort not to give her husband a terrible evening? Come on, man. Fix your business. That play corner was one of the few reasons we still went there, but unfortunately, that's no longer enough.

You can wait a million miles to be served. After 10 minutes, someone came to our table to tell us they wouldn't be back to take our order for another 5 minutes and that it would take a very long time if we ordered anything. It wasn't even busy. There was no one inside, and only about 20 people outside. If you can't handle that, it's better to have fewer tables or let them know in advance that you're not qualified to serve guests with a plate or something similar.

We had a delicious meal, and the atmosphere was great. It's a beautiful location and a cozy restaurant. The food took a little while to arrive, even though we'd already communicated everything in advance due to our group size. The two waitresses were very helpful and friendly. It wasn't a problem to wait a little longer. The two waitresses made a real difference in our enjoyable evening. Be kind to them!

Terrible restaurant. An hour and a half wait for the starter. Bland soup, dry chicken. They also brought the wrong thing and are ridiculously overpriced. I mentioned it was my mother's birthday, and they didn't do anything about it. It's ridiculously expensive for a restaurant with the quality of a football clubhouse!

Cozy atmosphere and open! Delicious food and a lovely indoor patio! I recommend eating here if you enjoy a cozy and quiet meal!

Celebrated our son's birthday, everything was easily arranged with Drew. He was flexible, relaxed, and both young and old had a wonderful afternoon.

It was delicious food; judging by other reviews, they clearly tried their best. I chose carpaccio as a starter, a burger as a main course and finally a stroopwafel ice cream. Only there was only one carpaccio left, so my girlfriend was out of luck.

Recensie van Kroast Onlangs heb ik samen met vrienden en onze kinderen een bezoek gebracht aan Kroast, een restaurant dat zich richt op gezinnen. Helaas viel onze ervaring behoorlijk tegen. Bij aankomst viel op dat er een speelhoek voor de kinderen was, wat een leuk idee is. Echter, het begon meteen al problematisch toen één van de drie kinderen een lolly kreeg, terwijl de andere twee leeghandig achterbleven omdat de lolly's op waren. Het was een lastige situatie om uit te leggen aan de kinderen. Na een lange wachttijd werd onze bestelling eindelijk opgenomen. De menukaart was al niet erg uitgebreid, maar tot onze verbazing was de helft van de voorgerechten niet beschikbaar. Het leek wel een kliekjesdag, wat de verwachtingen niet bepaald verhoogde. Uiteindelijk kregen we ons voorgerecht, maar niet allemaal tegelijk. Bovendien bleef het eten voor de kinderen achter, wat de frustratie alleen maar vergrootte. Na een wederom lange wachttijd arriveerde ons hoofdgerecht, maar tot onze teleurstelling waren de flammkuchen allemaal koud. Dit was echt een grote tegenvaller. Om het goed te maken, kregen we de koffie gratis aangeboden. Dit was een welkome geste, maar het kon de eerdere ongemakken niet goedmaken. De bediening deed hun best om vriendelijk te zijn, maar het was duidelijk dat ze ook met de irritaties van de situatie zaten. Voor ons is het duidelijk: hier komen we nooit meer terug!

Salmon salad. The salmon was not smoked, it was just thick slices of raw salmon. Really dirty. It's incomprehensible that you dare to serve that to your customers.

First of all, according to the website, a nanny would be present here on Friday and Saturday evenings, but an employee said that this has not been the case since she started working at KROAST three/four months ago. According to her, there is a vacancy for that. Fact checking, that is indeed true and there is also a vacancy open for a chef. Unfortunately, we understand why. We were really not pleased with the food If you order a burger with fries twice for €20.50, you expect something from it. When this was served, I was already skeptical by its presentation. It seemed to come from a cheap snack bar. With my first bite of the crispy chicken burger I noticed that it was not crispy chicken and neither was my wife's. After raising the issue, two new pieces of chicken would be made and this was replaced at the table by exchanging the pieces of meat🤦🏽‍♂️ Out of curiosity I asked what we had received and then the answer was a normal chicken burger from the oven and now a crispy, deep-fried chicken burger. The special thing is that this is not even on their menu🧐 The “cook” did not seem knowledgeable at all and had very little work to do, because it was very quiet on this Saturday evening. Hygienic work is also not taken seriously by him, because he was touching various objects outside the kitchen with his blue gloves and did not replace them at any time. The suspected new manager did compensate us by taking 1 burger off the bill, but for what we paid, you would expect a better restaurant. Other things that stood out are that the furniture is really in poor condition and cannot be compared at all to what you see on the website. To come back to very quiet on a Saturday evening, we were there with three families. I understand why, this was a one-off for us too. As Rob Geus would say: “man, man, man” P.S. I wanted to give 2 stars out of decency, but all in all this is really not possible and I am giving my first 1 star review for a restaurant. And not to complain, but to inform others and perhaps let them make a different choice.

We will never come here again! I have read in various places that KROAST is a fun and pleasant place to have dinner with your children. I suspect that this used to be the case, but it is certainly not the case now. It was very quiet for a Saturday evening. The website states that there would be a 'nanny', but according to the staff this has not been the case for at least three months. I quickly noticed that the 'cook' didn't have much to do. Not only because it was quiet but also because there was no actual cooking but food was heated up. The fries did not taste fresh and the crispy chicken burger was not crispy at all. We reported this and received another burger. This was changed at the table! Not the whole sandwich but just the burgers😅. Still not really crispy and he indicated that the first burger came out of the oven. The burger was not very tasty, I put some lettuce, cucumber and red onion on it, added some sauce and that was it. The burgers at the snack bar are tastier and you don't pay 20.50 for them. I didn't eat it. The staff was really friendly and helpful, they did their best but were not knowledgeable at all. I thought it was a big joke!

Such a shame, good memories, but from 2019. Faded glory... especially the service, but it's also all a bit schmutzig. Make a lot of mistakes. Inhospitable. Only after an hour in an almost empty restaurant at a table with a large group do we receive the menu. The salmon was gone, one of the children's soup did not come, it also turned out, all alternatives turned out to be gone, poorly resolved. What we ate was really quite tasty, but unfortunately it wasn't quite there. Pricey, which is a shame because this was the last time.

Lunch here was ok. The menu could have had more variety, the food was reasonable and the staff friendly but not so sharp. It is a beautiful place but it is also starting to flake off a bit here and there. I don't recommend or discourage it.

Several things were no longer there, cheese sticks for example. Bitterballen then, they turn out to be those soft, not crunchy, cheap bitterballen. I give two stars for the children's play area and the fact that they serve Father Linus beer. But the prices? They suggest that you are eating in a good place. This was the last time, unfortunately. Too bad, Kroast!

Este bar cafetería está situado a un poco de la orilla del río. Visitamos para almorzar en lo que resultó ser “El día de la llegada de Sinterklaas”. Esto significa que el café pronto se llenó de niños muy excitantes que más bien abrumaron el espacio. Tomamos una ensalada y un flamkuchen. Ambos estaban bien. Sin embargo, experimentamos un gran problema cuando vinimos a pagar. No se llevaron efectivo ni tarjetas de crédito. Sólo tomaron tarjetas de débito. Tuvimos que explicar que nuestra tarjeta de débito no estaba en euros. Al final, redondeamos la cuenta y aceptaron efectivo.

Great experience and atmosphere! Definitely recommended!

Very noisy, which made it difficult to hear people, the acoustics were poor. Smoked salmon starter contained sparse salmon, lots of arugula and too expensive for the quantity. The chicken schnitzel was a -1 in taste. The satay sauce was not convincing, which also applied to the satay (1 skewer with mediocre quality chicken thigh). The 1/2 chicken was very chewy. The fries were excellent. The chicken stew was good. Unfortunately we ran out of desserts. The espresso was more like coffee and the cappuccino was more like cafe latte.

Extremely bad food. Not much atmosphere and apparently the staff doesn't feel like it. Probably bad or not paid. And the price/quality ratio was bad.

It's nice that there is a large play corner for the children, although the toys themselves are very old and incomplete. The food is very mediocre (few fries, plain hamburger, bad bitterballen and nachos) and the service tries but unfortunately fails.

It's all (just) not there: the staff, the menu, the stock (sorry, the carpacccio is gone), then ordering a soup of the day (tomato soup according to 1 waitress who had to go to the kitchen to ask what the soup is from). the day) and then not getting tomato soup and the flammkuchen that I ordered as a main course was really not tasty. It's just not all that. The waiter tells us that the soup of the day is tomato soup and then serves something else, a Cesar salad with pieces of crispy chicken schnitzel and chicken piri piri, the herbs of which are probably still in the kitchen. Shame.

After the cinema we looked for something nearby to eat and saw that Kroast has a play corner for children. The menu is not super extensive for lunch, but the dishes we received were tasty (flammkuchen and sandwich). We ordered pancakes for the little one. It was quite quiet on a Wednesday afternoon but we enjoyed it.

We had made a reservation at 11:30 am, upon arrival we were told that they were still closed, but we were eventually allowed in. The food was okay, nothing special. The toilets were really dirty, dirty. We had to wait a very long time for service, so after our sandwiches we decided to have a cup of coffee somewhere else to finish off. Finally, the cashier reversed the amount, so we paid 97 instead of 79 and then we had to wait for a charge that had not been paid 7 hours later. Shame!

Er was veel op (geen cocktails, nacho’s, bitterballen), eten matig (vlees van de hamburger taai, brioche broodje was een italiaanse bol, sate niet warm) haar in eten, speelplek leuk voor de kids, maar erg gedateerd, toiletten niet schoon. Bediening was wel vriendelijk.

Gegeten met 7 personen waarvan 3 kids. Cocktails konden niet gemaakt worden omdat niet alles aanwezig was. Bij voorgerecht bestellen bleek dat er geen nacho’s waren dus kids kozen een gezamenlijke borrelplank. Hier waren de bitterballen helaas ook op! (Zaterdags 17:00). Bij de borrelplankj voor kids zat brood maar helaas geen smeersels bijv een simpele kruidenboter. Hamburgers waren erg stug en taai vlees. Ook te lang gebakken en te donker van kleur. Saté was niet warm en een haar in de frites. Dessert dus maar overgeslagen. Bij betaling doorgegeven dat we niet tevreden waren. Hier werd wel naar geluisterd en zelfs iemand uit keuken kwam vragen stellen. Ook werd meteen een deel van gerechten niet in rekening gebracht. Erg netjes!! Er werd zelfs gevraagd om het in een review te delen zodat er wat aan gedaan kon worden. Hopelijk doen ze iets met de kritiek. Restaurant ziet er leuk uit en goede locatie. Maar voor ons geen herhaling!

Helaas een tegenvaller. Ongeduldige bediening, borrelplank miste humus, bitterballen waren zonder overleg vervangen door kaassnack en gemengde noten waren pinda’s. Burger was erg stug en massief. Om 19,30 werd ons gezegd dat ze om 20.00 een besloten gezelschap kregen en ze wilden nu wel voorbereiden. …Toetje moesten we razendsnel opeten en smaakte kant en klaar. Een etentje om de vakantie en een goed rapport te vieren…. Eens maar nooit weer. Tip: COMMUNICATIE!!!

A completely different experience than the last time we had lunch here. It was good before, pleasant service, tasty lunch, but this time much was no longer available to order (it was just before 1 p.m.). The 12 o'clock meal could also not be ordered with other toppings, but you could exchange the shrimp croquettes (which had also run out) for bitterballen. Very special. Pasta voor de kleine was al eerder gekookt, sommige stukjes waren ook heel hard. Het bord kwam zo uit de magnetron en kon je ook niet aanraken. Dit kan je niet serveren aan een kind van 2. Risotto leek ook eerder klaar gemaakt te zijn was heel plakkerig. De porties waren klein terwijl je voor een kinder pasta wel 10,50 betaald. De plek verder is wel ideaal de kleine heeft er heerlijk kunnen spelen.

We hebben de hele avond lekker gegeten en geborreld bij KROAST. Veel keuze, ook fijn dat er zoveel vegetarische opties zijn. We hebben lekker gegeten en ik zou zeker nog eens terugkomen! Aardig personeel, gezellige inrichting met een soort kamertjes, waardoor je voor je gevoel wat verder weg zat van de buren. Ik denk dat het voor gezinnen/kinderen ook echt een leuke plek is.

Had lunch here with our children. She wanted the pancakes with seasonal fruit and the sauce worth €9.50. The children each got 2 small pancakes (I think they were warmed up from the microwave) with 3 strawberries. I think we are in January, so seasonal fruit??? Never saw the raspberries or chocolate sauce. All 3 kids were still hungry when they finished. We both had the sandwich, which you can't even call a sandwich. Both still hungry. Very scandalous the prices that are asked and what you get. Not for us anymore.

This must be a medium burger. We are not complainers and want the best for catering entrepreneurs. But; this is just burnt, well-done and nasty. The waitress asked us what we wanted. I said that I would like the chef to indicate whether the burger was intended that way. Answer: yes, that's how it should be. Fine. If you want to be so stubborn about serving an inedible and burnt piece of meat, then you can expect a bad review. The service kept smiling and remained friendly and attentive, for which kudos. We got a round of drinks and that's thoughtful. Still: this burger should never have been released and that should simply have been admitted.

Very nice service at Kroast Amersfoort! Unfortunately clickbait for vegans, because there is no vegan food, and even the hummus was gone! cucumber snacked from another menu.

Goed eten. Vriendelijk personeel. Aparte ruimte voor kinderen.

Leuke plek, vriendelijke bediening, fijn dat er een nanny is. Menu niet bijzonder verder. Het eten was echt niet lekker. Echt alles was smaakloos zonder liefde bereid. Zelfs brood met aioli was niet lekker. Om die reden bestelde ik een Spanish coffee, daar kan niks mis mee gaan dacht ik. Toch wel, ik kreeg nl. een Irish coffee. Prijs kwaliteit verhouding is echt niet oké. Ik kom hier niet terug.

Wat een leuke en gezellige plek is dit! Wij zaten met een groep lekker buiten. Zowel binnen als buiten is het gezellig. Het eten was erg lekker en de bediening vlot en vriendelijk. Een aanrader als je toevallig in Amersfoort bent.

Hele leuke locatie, met een verrassende binnentuin in een leuke sfeer! Bediening vlot en leuk. Lekkere mosterdsoep, hoofdgerecht was een rumbsteak. Weinig smaak aan. Eten prima, prijs behoorlijk, locatie dikke prima. Toiletten niet schoon, zonde als je aangeeft een kindvriendelijk restaurant te zijn.

Ik heb hier vandaag geluncht met een sandwich hummus / gegrilde courgette die zijn geld niet waard was. Dikke sneden brood die karig belegd waren met hummus en 2 dunne schijfjes courgette en een paar blaadjes sla. Dat voor ruim € 10,00 Wel een sfeervolle binnentuin en vriendelijk personeel.

Lekker, maar niet heel erg indrukwekkend. Kleine porties, niet goedkoop, en we moesten best wel lang wachten. Terras is wel mooi.

Het eten was erg lekker! We waren met een grote groep en alles werd vlot geserveerd. Alleen waren veel items op het menu op. Er was geen sorbet, bepaalde soep en meer dan de helft van de cocktails waren er niet. Beetje gek op een zaterdag Tuintje was erg gezellig om te zitten!

Eten was lekker, echter hadden ze op een zaterdagavond het halve menu niet op voorraad. Meerendeel was op. Beetje raar.

Prima! mosterdsoep absolute aanrader. Zoete aardappelfriet als bijgerecht zou ieder restaurant moeten hebben en bij Kroast staat het op de kaart. Vriendelijk team en goede sfeer, zeker een aanrader.

Dagje Amersfoort en hier de dag begonnen met een bakje koffie en gebak Vriendelijke bediening en de Cheesecake smaakte heerlijk ... wel aan een pittige prijs van 6.90 maar in tijden niet zo'n lekkere verkregen dus was het zijn geld wel waard

Ik ben onlangs naar Kroost Amersfoort geweest en ik kan met volle overtuiging zeggen dat het een fantastische ervaring was. Van begin tot eind werden ik benaderd met uitstekende service, geweldige faciliteiten en een warme en gastvrije sfeer. Bij binnenkomst werden we hartelijk begroet door het vriendelijke personeel, dat altijd klaar stond om te helpen en al onze vragen te beantwoorden. De medewerkers waren duidelijk goed getraind en toegewijd aan het zorgen voor een positieve ervaring Wat me meteen opviel, was de prachtige en schone omgeving. De speelruimtes waren ruim, goed onderhouden en gevuld met een verscheidenheid aan educatief speelgoed en spelletjes die perfect waren afgestemd op de verschillende leeftijdsgroepen. Wat Kroost Amersfoort echt onderscheidt, is de aandacht voor detail en het streven naar kwaliteit. Er waren tal van activiteiten gepland, variërend van creatieve workshops tot sportieve spelletjes, die op een leuke en leerzame manier werden georganiseerd. Het enthousiasme en de betrokkenheid van het personeel bij deze activiteiten was aanstekelijk. Wat me ook opviel, was de gezonde en voedzame maaltijden die werden geserveerd. Kroost Amersfoort hecht duidelijk veel belang aan gezonde voeding en bood een gevarieerd menu aan met verse en biologische ingrediënten. Het was geruststellend. Kroost Amersfoort heeft echt een positieve indruk op mij achtergelaten. Het is een plek waar kinderen kunnen spelen, leren en groeien in een veilige en stimulerende omgeving. Ik kan deze eetgelegenheid ten zeerste aanbevelen aan alle ouders maar zeker ook aan jongeren die op zoek is naar een plek waar je lekker kunt eten

Eten was goed. Hamburger was groot en voldoende patat erbij. Nagerecht viel iets tegen. Terug naar de keuken, omdat er geen ijs bij was. Er staat ook dat je amandelschaafsel krijgt bij de brownie, maar dat is verkruimelde ijshoorn.

Ik was hier voor openening. De eigenaar heeft tussen alle bedrijvigheid voor het openen van de zaak toch koffie geschonken. Super service spontane vent :-) goud. Leuke zaak mooi gedecoreerd zou er zeker terug gaan.

Mooie plek aan de Eem middenin Amersfoort met een fijn buitenterras. Eten is no-nonsense prima. Bediening vlot en vrolijk. Kijk ook eens naar het arrangement met de 105 jaar oude Salonboot Amersfoort

Lekker sfeertje, prima eten en drinken.

Net buiten de binnenstad van Amersfoort, aan de Eem zit restaurant Kroast. Zoals de naam al doet vermoeden is het restaurant redelijk ingesteld op kinderen. Ik zeg redelijk omdat er nog wel over bepaalde dingen nagedacht kan worden. Binnen is een best grote speelplek voor (kleinere) kinderen met een autobaan, treinbaan en ander speelgoed. De kinderen kunnen hier lekker spelen terwijl ouders rustig kunnen lunchen of dineren. Echter kwam mijn zoontje van net 2 jaar ineens terug lopen met een etui vol scharen die hij in de speelhoek had gevonden. “Ja sommige kinderen pakken dingen die ze niet mogen pakken”, was het antwoord van de serveerster toen ik het etui op de bar legde met de uitleg dat dit een beetje gevaarlijk is in een speelhoek waar jonge kinderen spelen. De kaart is redelijk divers, alleen de gerechten voor kinderen vond ik opvallend beperkt. Bij de lunchgerechten stond alleen een tosti kaas. Deze tosti kwam op stevig donkerbruin brood met een flinke portie rauwkost ernaast. Lekker voor een volwassene, maar een peuter kan dit niet op en laat de salade natuurlijk staan. De gerechten voor de volwassenen vond ik trouwens erg lekker. Verder nog een puntje over de verschoonruimte. Die is in t halletje waar ook de wc’s zijn. Als je de verschoontafel uitklapt, kun je eigenlijk de deuren van de wc’s nauwelijks meer open doen. Ook is een poepluier verschonen in een niet afgesloten ruimte niet heel fris natuurlijk. Ik schaamde me een beetje om de luier van mijn zoontje te verschonen daar. Al met al is het zeker een leuke plek om nog eens te lunchen met de kinderen. Maar ik denk wel dat de lunchkaart iets uitgebreider mag voor de kinderen en ook wat meer nadenken over de grootte van de porties. Laten staan is echt heel zonde.
