Incredibly beautiful location. Delicious food

Had lunch at Villa Westend today for a birthday. Received a friendly welcome. Ordered a club sandwich. Taste was impeccable, but the fries were terrible. Leftover fries that had probably been put through the fryer three times. For that price, downright scandalous.

The food is genuinely tasty BUT it takes too long, man. Today, after 45 minutes, we had to cancel our prank drinks. The waitress didn't seem surprised and didn't apologize either, just that it was busy (it wasn't actually that bad). We've waited 40+ minutes before as well, even at events like Easter where everyone eats pretty much the same thing. It's a shame; it takes the fun out of it for us a bit.

Cozy atmosphere and the food is good.

We had a family lunch for 17 people aged between 0 and 73. We were given a nice spot by the large window overlooking the small lake. The welcome was warm. The service is prompt and professional. And, most importantly, the food is excellent. There are often seasonal specialties. I chose the asparagus (mid-May). Excellent quality and beautifully presented with ham or salmon, an egg, potatoes, and béarnaise sauce. Delicious! Another favorite is the Spaarndam eel toast. The meat or fish sharing platters are also highly recommended. There is plenty of space for children without disturbing the other guests. There is a corner where they can color, or they can go to the small beach. There is ample parking on the grounds of Villa Westend.

Was at the street fair, a waste of time. Expensive junk aimed at the Amsterdam import yuppies. You are forced into a paid parking spot; I even showed the attendant a disabled parking permit, but was allowed to stand at the back anyway, only to find out later that there is simply a free disabled parking space at the restaurant. First and last time.

Always cozy and tasty. Nice atmosphere.

This is also the right place for a delicious cup of coffee with a generous slice of apple pie.

Villa Westend is a hidden gem! I enjoy visiting them for the combination of a business meeting and a walk with my dog. You can park for free right outside and walk straight into the establishment. Inside, the place is beautiful and modern. There is a friendly atmosphere. Outside on the beach and the terrace, you forget that you are just outside Haarlem; it is truly relaxing! Last winter, I was very impressed by the winter experience on the beach. There was an amazing ice rink! Big, cozy, and really fun. You can even go curling. Very unique and very well done!

A very nice restaurant by the lake. The food was very good. Service was quick and reliable. I highly recommend it; the atmosphere is great. However, you should definitely book in advance!

We went here for breakfast yesterday for Mother's Day, but I can only say that it was disappointing. We reserved a table for three people, including a three-year-old child, so we requested a high chair. We were given a high table, and the staff said, "Yes, we can add a high chair." So my child ended up sitting under the table. It was a challenge with a three-year-old on a high chair. Additionally, we asked for the menu multiple times, but we received it 30 minutes after asking. We waited from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM for breakfast. When paying, they asked how it was; we mentioned that it was a disappointing experience, but they didn't bat an eyelid. Apparently, it's all perfectly normal.

The food was good, although you do pay quite a bit for it. We were there on Mother's Day and it was full. Apparently, this was completely underestimated, because we had to wait an hour for our food. The food was served on a plate with a piece missing. It's a shame, but the management really made a misjudgment here. It is strange, though, considering the next table was reserved and they therefore knew how many people were coming.

I've been here a few times to go paddleboarding and once for a drink. Every time I've had a very pleasant experience with friendly people and a nice atmosphere.

We waited by the "wait to be seated" sign. At least five members of staff walked past us without looking at us; we even shouted out loud. All the tables in front of us were empty. No one looked up or around. We walked away.

Far too few staff, some of whom were not very nice (though some were very friendly). Ice cream melted, food not served all at once, ate in stages, that wasn't fun. Overpriced for what you get. Location is nice.

Are you looking for a restaurant where two bone-dry white rolls — supposed to pass for brioche buns — are filled with two shrimp croquettes the size of a bitterball for €19.50? Then you have come to the right place. The service was friendly, by the way. The tuna salad sandwich was decent and gets a six from me.

Every once in a while, our group of friends ends up at Villa Westend not to eat, but to have a drink. With a delicious bitterball, of course. That was the case last Thursday as well. Our waitress still remembered our friend from previous visits! Who says that?

Walking into Vila Westend feels a bit like stepping onto the set of RTL Boulevard — sleek, dark, glossy, and very aware of its own aesthetic. The interior leans heavily into deep tones, gold accents, dramatic lighting, and carefully styled details. From the sculptural lamps to the polished marble tables and curated shelves, everything feels intentional and to a level of VT wonen lovers. It’s the kind of place where you half-expect a camera crew to appear at any moment. That said, this clearly works — and works well — for a large part of the Dutch audience. Vila Westend knows exactly who it’s catering to: guests who enjoy a fashionable, specific atmosphere, a sense of occasion from the drudgery of middle class life, and an environment designed to be seen. Food-wise, things are mostly solid. The BLT does what it should — satisfying and well made. The high tea is very much in line with the Dutch interpretation, starting with savory items like bagels and witte broodjes kroket before moving on to sweets. It’s familiar and very local in character. The drinks, however, were a bit of a letdown. The latte was essentially just a regular coffee with extra milk, the babyccino had so much cocoa on top that our kid didn’t even want to drink it, and the water we ordered arrived lukewarm. Small things, perhaps, but noticeable, especially in a place that puts so much emphasis on presentation. All in all, it simply wasn’t quite our kind of place. The experience leans more toward polished than warm and relaxed. But if you enjoy dinner shows, curling, RTL-style flair, and a touch of André Bourgeois energy — this is very much your spot.

A really lovely place to bring kids. In the summer you can swim and during the winter months there is a lovely ice skating/curling rink for all ages. There is an easy oversight over the rink with all the tables and chairs that are installed in front. Make sure to bring gloves and warm clothes! Food is reasonably priced and service with a smile.

This afternoon, after a funeral, we had lunch with a group of 17 people at Villa Westend. It's a cheerful, vibrant place where you still experience an intimate feeling with a large group. The food and drinks were delicious, and the attentive, hospitable service, sensitive to the occasion, ensured a successful lunch. Thank you for allowing us to conclude our funeral with such a wonderful service.

Tonight I had the Unlimited mussels. Unlimited? After the first X, I ordered another half pan. But after waiting half an hour, I asked where my order was. The answer was that they were "out of"🙄..... Poor communication between us, maybe it's a good idea to tell the customer. Poor communication between us....too bad. They made it easy to choose a dessert.... The tartin🫣 No.......ohhhh no...

Too much money for what you get. The service is also slow. Lower the prices; €5.50 for a tiny portion of fries is ridiculous. The meat price could also be reduced by 20%. The quality of the meat wasn't anything to write home about either.

We first sat on the terrace after a lovely walk. When the weather turned, there was luckily still room inside. And we enjoyed a delicious lunch. A beautiful location, especially on a summer day, but even in wind and rain, it's a pleasure to be here.

A lovely atmosphere, especially outside by the lake, is a great spot when the weather is nice. Plenty of parking, definitely worth a visit. We were here with our company, but it's also a great and cozy place to spend time with your partner.

I've been here several times because I really like it, but the staff is just incredibly rude. If you want to have a good time, I wouldn't go here. I always leave feeling grumpy because of the way I'm treated. Just ask a normal question and they look at you like you're a moron. Especially that burly man with red hair... yuck. Unfortunately, my mother was there yesterday too. She was told a cot costs €10, but she ended up paying €15 per person. Today she called to check and was told, bluntly, "Yes, it is €15," and "If that tenner makes you happy, we can give it back." Instead of trying to find a solution, she just got a rude and ignorant response from the woman on the phone. This place either needs to be closed, or the staff needs to be replaced ASAP. 🤡

Whenever I go there, there's always a friendly, pleasant atmosphere and a wide selection. The beach is also nice, where you can sit and enjoy the company of your children.

Last August, we got married at Villa Westend. We have indoor and outdoor options. The location is beautiful! It's very atmospheric and has a lovely waterfront setting. The staff is very helpful, and practically anything is possible. The food and snacks are luxurious and delicious! We had such a great time; we highly recommend it!

The waiter wasn't very good. We had to wait two hours for our food, pfffff. We did get a discount, but that didn't make up for much.

It's a lovely place to sit on the terrace, and the atmosphere is very good. Inside, it also looks cozy and warm. The price/quality ratio for the food isn't fantastic. Today, we had a rather meager Caesar salad plate for lunch for €20. But then the service. Wow... I walked in and a few girls were hanging around the bar, chatting, no one looked up or around. Finally, I said something myself. There wasn't a single good morning or smile. I was led to our reserved table. From a distance, it was pointed out. No "would you like something to drink?" When we were all there, they took our drink orders, and a little later, our food. Still not exactly welcoming. Our food didn't take too long. Our glasses were empty, but we weren't asked if we wanted another drink. We ended up ordering ourselves and then had to wait fifteen minutes for it. The bill, however, arrived promptly. In short, a great place to sit and eat, but don't expect too much from the service.

The carrot cake was a fluffy dream, exactly as you'd hope: nutty, spicy, and that frosting? Divine. The cheeks cake—well, that was more of a cheeky wink than a flavor explosion, a bit dry, to be honest. Cappuccino? Firm, good foam, no complaints. But that homemade lemonade, oh dear, it was so sour it made my tooth enamel run! The atmosphere is cozy, the service prompt, but that lemonade was a sensation for a place outside of the city.

Since the summer of 2023, we've dined at this beautiful location four times. Unfortunately, we've seen a significant decline in service during that time. From our first visit, we've had a clear preference for a specific round table on the terrace (the northernmost one). We explicitly stated this preference for our second and third online reservations. Initially, this was accommodated without any problems. However, with our third reservation, it turned out this hadn't been taken into account, and we were directed to a table near the playground, exactly where we didn't want to sit. Fortunately, our preferred table wasn't occupied at the time, so we were able to sit there after all. Up until then, the overall experience had been reasonably good, worth an average of about four stars. To be on the safe side, I decided to call to confirm our table preference again for our fourth reservation. That proved quite a challenge, but after some insistence, we were promised that it would be taken into account. (I also indicated that otherwise, we would book elsewhere.) Yesterday's summer weather wasn't exactly inviting: cloudy, but dry. The terrace was only about a fifth occupied. To my surprise, "our" table turned out to be occupied after all. When I mentioned this, a red-haired staff member waved away my comment and directed us to another round table near the playground. I reluctantly agreed, but to my dismay, this table had an overflowing, dirty ashtray. Since no one took action, we removed the ashtray and cleaned the table ourselves. The food was reasonable this time, but certainly not up to the standard we were used to. The fries were of exceptionally poor quality; it seemed as if the last bits from the bag had been used instead of the kitchen trying to crack open a new one. The fries were almost exclusively hard, small pieces. In short: the ladies serving the food are not to blame; they do their job properly. But the arrogant red-haired staff member, who acts like he owns the place and seats us at a dirty table, as well as certain aspects of the kitchen, really should reconsider. In any case, my family and I will not be coming back here.

I stopped by for lunch. The location and the restaurant itself are beautiful. Unfortunately, the service and food experience left much to be desired. The staff is inexperienced, and it shows. I didn't find the price-quality ratio good: I ordered a club sandwich, which was truly disappointing. I left more than half of it and mentioned it, but nobody responded. My advice: it's a very nice place for a cup of coffee or a drink with a snack, but for a good lunch or dinner, I'd choose another place because the food is nothing special.

Villa Westend in Velserbroek is highly recommended. You can go here for a business meeting, a party or to have a delicious meal. The service is friendly and the food is really great. The location is atmospheric and is beautifully situated on the water. Nice that there is also a beach, that makes it extra relaxing and cozy. A versatile place where you like to come back.

Had lunch with colleagues this afternoon, it is a beautiful location. Spacious, nicely decorated, friendly welcome and the girls in the service do their best! The food was delicious, we were regularly asked if it was ready and also asked if we wanted something to drink. BUT a gust of wind came up, so hard that the parasol with base and all blew over, right on my colleague's hand and knee, then on the table and myself. The table tilted and all the glasses full of drinks, rosé beer, beer, wine and soft drinks fell over me! Wet and sticky from my shoulders to my slippers, pants and underwear soaked! Man from another table helped and the staff? Ran to the other parasols to fold them and then... nothing!! I was dumbfounded! A colleague of mine went inside for a cloth to dry me. After that no one came to ask, gosh how annoying do you need something or something. Absolutely nothing! We got the drinks that had been spilled new, after a very long wait, and someone overheard half a conversation whether it was true that everything had been spilled.... I often post reviews and I never set out to put a catering establishment down. But apart from the fact that I thought this was incredibly bad service, I find it inhumanly antisocial that you can't even come and ask if everything is okay! Really a bit bizarre... but anyway the food was tasty and luckily the plates had already been cleared....

Nice atmospheric place. With sunny weather it is great because of the terrace and beach. The food is very tasty. However, the service makes you wait too long for your order and clearing tables also takes too long. They left the dirty plates of the previous people while we got our drinks. It is about too many discs. Everyone has his or her own task. The staff is, with the exception of one person, 'not thinking for themselves', which is a shame.

What a beautiful location! It was truly an honor to DJ at Villa Westend. It was a real blast: the energy was high from the start and the dance floor remained full until the end. In fact, people wanted to continue even longer, always a good sign! 🎉

I had a club sandwich with a cup of tea. Was very tasty! But honestly, found it relatively expensive.

The location is great, but there is one major drawback: the service is absolutely terrible. Want to call ahead to ask something? Forget it — no one ever answers, no matter how many times you call during the day. Want to stop by and ask something? You can easily wait 10-15 minutes at the counter — no one is there and everyone seems to be busy with their own business. The location is great, but the service couldn’t be worse. Shameful.

It all took a bit long, the food was fine, the schnitzel was Mega! The furniture, especially the couch, needs to be renewed, the table edges needed a thorough cleaning. Furthermore, a good location, parking is also fine. You are completely out of it.

Booked in advance, waited a long time to be able to order. Then in 2 seconds bread on the table without explanation what the dips were. Finally waited more than 1 hour for starter after asking when we could expect it. Then still had to wait too long for main course. No big menu, food was good, unfortunately an entrecote with a lot of fat, very unfortunate. Drinks are often requested but unfortunately serving food is not.

Today (Father's Day) we had lunch with six people at Villa Westend. The location is beautiful and the decor chic. Unfortunately it took almost 50 minutes before we were served our lunch. The club sandwich and hamburger were nothing special and the fries consisted mainly of small pieces (leftovers). A beer ordered in between never arrived. The taps at the toilets are mounted so low that you can hardly wash your hands. Afterwards we were offered coffee because of the long waiting time. All in all not a good experience and therefore not recommended.
