Great service, superb location. The food was amazing: oysters, Ortiz sardines, sea bass, and chicken skewers with naan bread. They also offer a variety of wines. 😎

If you're looking for a place where the service is downright cynical, arrogant, smart-alecky, and rude, this is it! The food is decent, but way overpriced, of course. And the kitchen staff genuinely couldn't care less about the guests, happily chatting loudly with acquaintances. Customers will come anyway. Well, never again. It's a bit like the atmosphere at The Harbour Club: be glad you're even allowed to dine with us; we decide! Bring your own cutlery.

It was quite busy and there was plenty of space. The food was delicious, though a bit limited (Thai salad). Otherwise, it was a great place to enjoy the good weather and the friendly staff.

I wont be lying if i say that it was one of the best places I have ever been to in my entire life. I randomly turned right while i was driving on A2 and had my breakfast in there. I loved the place to the extent that I went again during the same day for dinner and to watch the Mesmerizing sunset. Service was great, and food was awesome.

We were 6 people, table in the sun with 32 degrees, place was empty because we came earlier. We asked several times to change and different staff members came to talk to us. They couldn't move us to another table because of other reservations. We left the restaurant because we didn't feel comfortable, food seemed nice, atmosphere also good.

Top location, good food, friendly service

The restaurant is beautifully situated. The sun sets in the evening. Unfortunately, the food was a bit disappointing. I also recommend everyone check their bill carefully before paying. There were several dishes on our bill that we hadn't ordered, which made the bill much higher. Unfortunately, we only discovered this at home. All in all, a bit of a disappointment.

We had a wonderful meal yesterday, choosing from small dishes and main courses, or a combination of both. The service was friendly, and the glasses and plates were kept full. The atmosphere was great, both inside and outside. Unfortunately, the weather turned so bad that we would never have arrived back at the car dry if the staff hadn't thought of something! Beautiful spot on the water and delicious food. A little tip... try to eat what you're serving first, using the cutlery you plan to use. Bread under smoked sirloin steak and the steak itself is practically impossible to cut with the rather dull cutlery. A steak knife would save a lot of frustration👍

We just wanted to have a cup of coffee at 11 in the morning but were not helped. We were not allowed to sit on the empty terrace and after waiting for 20 minutes and signaling several times at the front we gave up. By the way, they were standing inside with the three of them doing nothing.

Food and the atmosphere were amazing. Gambas were our favorite dish. Lake view is so nice, great for chilling out and enjoying the moment. Worth to visit again.

Reserved yesterday morning and then an email arrives that starts with the following text: Please note: You are on the waiting list. This means that there is currently no table reserved for you. We will contact you as soon as a table becomes available. If you do not hear from us, then unfortunately no table has become available. Until when are you going to wait? Until the time of reservation? It seems more customer-friendly to always inform the future guest and then for example no later than 4 hours before the reservation time so that you are able to find and book a location elsewhere in time.

Had a lovely lunch today!!!! The atmosphere was very nice, despite the bad weather we had a fantastic afternoon! We ordered 5 dishes from the shared dining and the pizza bread with dips as a starter! With a lovely glass of verdicchio! A beautiful view over the Vinkeveense plassen! Highly recommended!

The main course, sea bass fillet, was so salty it was inedible….

Went there to have a dinner. I sat on a terrace, had to wait for service and attract attention of the waiting staff as they were busy talking. The view is lovely, pleasant music and friendly atmosphere. When I finished eating, had to wave again. I ordered a side salad, which was tasty but full with croutons (beware if you eat gluten free/low carb). My dessert was frozen toffee roll - not home made of course. I hoped it was though. Not bad, inside looks very cozy and the bathroom is very clean.

I expected a chilled beach bar vibe, but it was a bit more standard and interchangeable than that, and had too little connection with the 'water/beach/island feeling'. Not very laid back, but mainly commercial. Good food, also pretty standard, and nice service. But it really lacked a wow-feeling, despite the beautiful location

It looks like it's close to the highway on Google Maps, but it's not; it's located in an oasis of peace. You do have to look for a parking spot if you don't know the area. After that it's a 4 minute walk. Beautiful view over the water and extremely friendly service. The food was fine and above average, the public is quiet and casual, not "Vinkevenerig". That gives a nice unintrusive atmosphere.

Despite the predictions of fresh wind and changeable weather, it was perfect to stay on the outdoor terrace behind glass.

After a short walk you arrive at a very nice place to relax by the water. Everything looks attractive and well maintained. You can sit inside or outside. Ordering is done by QR, so staff only has to bring something. The only downside were the bitterballen: rather limp instead of crispy and mediocre filling. But otherwise: recommended.

Beautiful place and good food, but the service left much to be desired today. We were ignored on the terrace, while others were helped. When we wanted to order, we were told that only reserved tables were served. No reservation, so we ordered via the QR code. Only after intervention of a regular customer were we helped. Felt unpleasant and as if we were less important.

A beautiful and picturesque wooden restaurant in beach style. A beautiful view of the water and the setting sun. They have a spacious parking lot that is clearly indicated from the 'main road'. From there it is a 2-3m walk to the restaurant. You can often share the starters with each other. We had Sardines and Peking duck. These were delicious. As a main course we chose Bavette. This was off the menu. Also delicious again. There is plenty of choice in terms of wine. There are beautiful wines on the menu. Something for everyone. I like it when there is enough choice in different price ranges and countries. Malbec per glass is tasty and soft and goes perfectly with the bavette. The service is friendly and helpful. You do have to ask for attention regularly if you want to order something. But hey, they are young people who do their best.

Very pleasant and friendly employees

This is the first review that really deserves 5 stars in all areas. The staff were really pleasantly friendly. We sat at the bar as all the indoor seating was reserved. In retrospect, that was the best place. We occasionally chatted with the young bartender and laughed together when he had a mishap while mixing drinks. He also offered us delicious samples of his drinks. The fish of the day we ate was the best fish we have ever eaten in Europe. The flavor combined with the spinach, oil, salt and garlic was perfectly balanced. The location is quiet and beautifully located by the lake. In the evening you can watch the beautiful sunset.

What a great spot and what a nice tent! Super nice people, fun and service-oriented in a very natural way. To share dishes are delicious, the atmosphere is relaxing and the view from the terrace over the Lake is phenomenal. Beautiful place that is somewhat hidden, but once you find it, you will keep coming back.

Really nice restaurant/cafe located at the edge of de Vinkeveense plassen. The terrace (with very comfortable seating) faces the lake on the west side so you can enjoy the sun in the afternoon and evening, perfect for a sunny day. The food They serve is delicious and fairly priced for such an upscale restaurant. Service was also very friendly and professional. I highly recommend going here if you want to enjoy a drink or some food while at the lake!

A very nice and romantic place on an island overlooking the water. Super friendly and service-oriented staff. Food tasted delicious, we were allowed to try different red wines and good advice was given. We regularly checked to see if we needed anything (it was a quiet evening, by the way). The restaurant would close at 10 p.m., but we didn't have to rush. We were still able to have a nice dinner. I haven't had such customer-oriented service in the catering industry in the Netherlands for a long time. Keep it up!

New Year's dinner/drinks: discussed/reviewed in advance with the owner. Everything was neat and well arranged. We were with about 55 people... it was great!

We were on our way back from Amsterdam when we came to visit. It is only 4 min. from the highway. Parking is easy at the Winkelpolder. We ate the chef's menu, which was really good. Delicious flavors, beautiful products and well served. This place is nice to visit in the winter. In the summer it is absolutely great so close to the water. I will definitely remember this place for a next time.

Had a great meal tonight, what a top chef was in the kitchen. Very friendly and hospitable service that doesn't make you feel like you have to leave right after dinner, but can still enjoy the lounge area. And don't forget the cozy decor. Top place 👍

Eating with a view! A beautiful view of the turbulent lakes. Had a nice lunch, the decorations for the main courses are a bit poor. A salad or some vegetables with it would have finished it off. The piri piri chicken could have been grilled longer, it was still stuck to the bone.

Although there were only two of us in the restaurant on a rainy Wednesday afternoon, we enjoyed a delicious lunch, the cozy interior, the view and especially the friendly welcome and service. We actually wanted a soup with it, but not a whole portion. Then we'll share a portion, was the suggestion. TOP. And the smoked tomato soup was delicious.

A very busy restaurant where reservations are recommended (even in the off-season). The portions of the main courses were generously sized, very tasty, and visually well-presented. The English menu, accessible via a QR code, was unfortunately somewhat different from the Dutch one, but the waitresses took plenty of time to explain everything to us in detail.

A wonderful place to escape from everyday life. You can go here for lunch and dinner. Wander Island is more than a 'beach club', much more. Wander Island is open all year round! It is a restaurant with fine cuisine, a good wine list and fantastic staff. Recommended!

Great fun afternoon and evening at the Wanders Winter event, ending with a delicious meal in the restaurant. Willem and his team, both in the kitchen and in the service, ensure that you feel welcome and are served perfectly. The food is simply fantastic! The new interior is beautiful and very cozy. Ate here with friends for lunch. Food is tasty. Meal salad was tasty, dressing could have been a little less. Flammkuchen and beet carpaccio delicious. Friendly service. Beautiful decoration and the place is lovely.

Super fresh oysters, flammkuchen, brilliantly prepared and juicy diamond tenderloin, delicious grilled chicken and first-class vegetables. Wine really tasty and the coffee too. yes really - 5 stars for almost everything! Wander Island has always been a special place, from the beginning. But it's only getting better - and with the current chef, things are in perfect order when it comes to food. The service is nice and attentive (your dog will probably want a drink too)! Why then 4 stars for the service - the dog was frequently mentioned by the service (I really like it), but I wonder if the service then hands down. But that's just an assumption on my part. In short; great, super nice tent! Absolutely recommended! Margo

Sunday evening 1-08-2024 we had another delicious meal at Wander Island! We chose from the “to share” dishes; the scallops, prawn pil pil, soft shell tacos, steak tartare, bread and dip. We drank a bottle of sparkling water and a bottle of rosé cava from Cordoniú. As on previous occasions, we were kindly received by the attentive Mason (!), we sat in a great spot with a beautiful view, all dishes were tasty and beautifully presented. On previous occasions we had coffee in the morning with apple pie, carrot cake and cheesecake. Even then everything was delicious and personal and attentive service. When the weather is nice, you can also enjoy a drink on the benches outside the restaurant! Enjoying the view, the people, the snacks and excellent cocktails and wine list! What a treasure island Wander has created here, I hope it remains such a top place for a long time!

Very nice place. The rest deserves some attention. Upon arrival I was told that I was pregnant also because of food. The chicken tacos we ordered looked delicious. Unfortunately there were a few pieces of raw chicken in there. I finally ate without the chicken and when the waitress asked if everything was to my liking I said, "There were a few pieces of raw chicken in there, so that's why I took the chicken out and didn't eat it all." To which the waitress said “okay”. Not really the desired response. Luckily I didn't get sick (because I took out all the chicken pieces) but I still didn't feel good for the rest of the afternoon. Furthermore, we had to wait a long time for everything, ordering, drinks not being accepted and eventually having to fill the dog's water ourselves in the toilet with a bowl we brought ourselves. All in all, if you have time, I recommend that you definitely have a drink there. I won't be back for lunch.

Think of it as a luxury beach tent... very cozy and tasteful We did share dining and there is plenty of choice if you go for the bites and starters, the boneless spare ribs are divine, just like the prawns pil pil This is a fantastic place for a pleasant or romantic evening and you will certainly not be disappointed.

Food (spaghetti) was not warm Waitress couldn't take it because we had supposedly already eaten it. Also the prawns lukewarm? Maybe it all has to wait a while before being served, but that's why it's lukewarm and less okay

Friendly welcome where we indicated that we would like to come for lunch. The menu would arrive shortly, and we could order drinks after a few minutes. We did not yet receive the menu with the drinks, and after 20 minutes of trying to get eye contact (it almost looked like this was being avoided), we approached the staff to order 2 sandwiches (I wish I had looked up the menu online in the meantime). . This came quite quickly and tasted good. A bit of a shame about the long wait for service, even though it was quite quiet.
