Awesome chip shop in Callantsoog. Huge selection of fries, sauces, and snacks. We went there once at the beginning and once at the end of our vacation. Both times it was incredibly delicious and we left satisfied. We'll definitely be back. I highly recommend it!!!

We don't understand the hype around this snack bar. Today we ordered two portions of fries with meat. All we got were broken pieces of fries, and they were rock hard, as if they'd been fried multiple times. There are much better places to go.

It does what it is supposed to do at a high level. The quality is excellent and there is a lot of self-service. In this case, self-service is not a bad thing but actually a good thing; it cannot be compared to a supermarket, of course. Speed ​​and quality go well together. A top entrepreneur I am envious of.

A visit to Wip-In is a must when you're in Callantsoog. The fries are simply amazing!!!

You have to wait at least 45 minutes for your food. It can't be that hard to fry fries.

The food (kibbeling) is very good. However, the staff are very rude and don't even say hello or goodbye.

I think they could teach that employee a thing or two. My mother-in-law was standing with her wallet to pay when she got a slap in the face from an employee standing there. My husband put the slap back, and then she did the same thing again. My husband put it back again. And then she went to tell her story to colleagues, but she didn't say anything; she acted so sadly again.

The fries are absolutely amazing. Made from freshly cut, locally sourced potatoes. You'd be hard-pressed to find better.

Just before closing time, the frying oil was either not hot enough or too old. The kibbeling and fries were soggy and didn't taste fresh. Unfortunately, both ended up in the trash. What a shame…

I wasn't familiar with this fast-food chain before, but it made a very positive impression. You order at the terminal, and a buzzer notifies you when your food is ready. The fries and sauces were delicious, and the veal croquette was also good. The prices are perfectly reasonable, and it's a great place to sit outside when the weather is nice.

It was our first time in Callantsoog, and we ate here right after arriving. We had kibbeling with special fries and a delicious soft-serve ice cream for dessert. Everything was very tasty, the portion was large, and the service was very friendly.

We wanted to order online as we have in previous years. Unfortunately, it's now only possible with a Dutch bank account. Ideal/Wero is the default payment method during the online ordering process and cannot be changed. There's no longer an option to pay by credit card or cash on collection. This makes online ordering impossible for us. Very disappointing 😕

Best fries in Callantsoog! You can sit and enjoy them in the sun. Ordering at the terminal is completely contactless.

Super cool snack bar/restaurant... the chip bags fit into special holes in the tables so they don't fall over... the kibbeling with garlic sauce was incredibly delicious, and the hand-cut fries were really crispy and crunchy... it's supposedly even open 365 days a year... 1 star deducted for ambiance because there's only 1 table inside and the rest of the seating is outside, which is only possible with a jacket in the spring wind :)

The most delicious fries in the area. We're usually in the Callantsoog area every year, and we always head to Wip-In on the first evening of our holiday. The other little things, like the frikandel and kaassoufflet, are simply delicious too.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend the fries – the bag was full of hard and small pieces. We were disappointed. Furthermore, the tables were dirty and the overall atmosphere was quite unpleasant.

Mmm... I've been looking forward to these fries for a whole year! Then, at 10:52 a.m., I actually showed up at the door only to discover, to my horror, that they didn't open until 11:30 a.m. 🙈🙈. BUT the wait was so worth it! The frikandel was amazing! Unfortunately, I didn't get much of the fries; my daughter devoured them! "Best fries ever, Mom!" The holes for the bags in the table are a great idea!! We'll be back!! Again and again!!! We were there again, of course! And what can I say: Best!!

There are only a few seats inside, but there are some tables and chairs outside, so you can enjoy your meal in the sunshine ☀️. We discovered and fell in love with this snack bar during our holidays in Callantsoog. For the past three years, we've been vacationing on Texel instead of Callantsoog, but a visit to Whip's is still a MUST ☝🏻

First off: A CLEAR RECOMMENDATION! The fries, cheese sandwich, and kip nuggets are great. The bami sandwich isn't so good. It's missing a really spicy sauce.

Excellent value for money! Large portions and nice and crispy. Delicious fries! Unfortunately, there are hardly any seats inside, but the outdoor seating is quite good. Takeaway is also available! You can easily order and pay contactlessly at the machine, very convenient.

French fries, meat croquettes, frikandel – the usual chip shop fare. Even when it's busy, they're organized and quick. When you order, you get a pager that signals when your food is ready; there's no table service. There's plenty of seating outside. Unfortunately, there are recurring problems paying with credit cards via Google Wallet.

After a long walk on the beach, the five of us were looking for a kibbeling snack. So we ordered two meals with fries, drinks, and sauces. The price was reasonable, the portions were large and very tasty – both the fries and the kibbeling. Thumbs up! We'll definitely be back next time we're in Callantsoog!

Dec 2025: To be fair, the fries are delicious. At least, that was the case last time. Now I left the restaurant empty-handed. The reason: the staff completely ignores you. They don't look at you, and the employee walks past you three times without any discernible awareness of your presence. I know you're here for the delicious fries, not for an uplifting and positive conversation. But, I think some kind of hospitality is nice. Look people in the eye and say, for example, "I'll be right with you." Simple, right? Feb & Oct 2025: These are what we call "detour fries." Really delicious, homemade, fresh fries. We're from the Achterhoek region and, of course, the beach, and these delicious fresh fries are another reason for us to go to the beach in Callantsoog and end the day at Wip-In.

I actually go there specifically for the homemade fries. I take them with me and eat them later. Unfortunately, the fries aren't tasty again; they seem to have been fried twice, and they're no longer the quality I came for before. Also, the fries were very greasy at some places; they weren't fresh, so they were hard. ...too bad.

Just ate here, definitely not recommended. You're sitting at a table with several people. Order your hamburger without vegetables... you get it with vegetables... then they just take the lettuce off and serve it back to you.

We’ve had fries at Wip In in Callantsoog several times and they are consistently excellent. The staff speak multiple languages and are always friendly. The atmosphere is simple and no-frills, but that’s exactly what you expect and want from a classic snack bar: straightforward, casual and easy. The fries are perfectly crispy and well-seasoned and you can enjoy them right there in the iconic pointed paper cone, or take them to go in a paper bag for a walk by the beach. Portions are generous and the quality is always spot on. It’s a great, reliable place for really good fries whenever you’re in Callantsoog. Would definitely recommend!

I got fries and kibbeling tonight. The fries were excellent. The kibbeling was excellent if you like thin pieces of fish with minimal seasoning and quite limp.

We had our first cheeseburger there and thought it was good. We were already familiar with the fries, and they're always fresh.

If you like fries, this is the place for you. The burgers are attractively priced, but there's still room for improvement in terms of taste. The various sauces for the fries are interesting.

When you order takeout for €32.50, you should be able to rely on the order being executed correctly and the quality being up to scratch. Vanilla milk instead of strawberry milk, fries that taste like fish, a special Frikandel with a thimbleful of "special." A cheeseburger with a chemical aftertaste. I'm actually used to better things from wip. It's a shame, it used to be pretty good.

The three of us as a family ate there three times during our vacation. The star dish is definitely the fries. I could eat them every day. Although we found that one large fries was enough for the three of us. The size M on the menu was much too big, because cold fries just don't taste good. The burgers are okay, but we're just spoiled. The kibbeling were delicious with the garlic sauce. Unfortunately, there are no restrooms and only outdoor seating. The weather wasn't a problem for us. Highly recommended! When we come back, we'll definitely go for fries and kibbeling.

The fries, which were actually good, were too soft. The bottom 4 centimeters of the cone were just hard bits. This is probably because they were scooped from a drip tray. Fresh fries, which they claim to sell, are no longer fresh. There wasn't enough sauce (ketchup), and I even held back on the fries, which were somewhat edible. Eating from a cone is actually completely impossible because it's almost inevitable that every last bit of fries will be eaten. It looks great, but it's completely impractical! If you want a decent fork, order a frikandel speciaal (special frikadel) with it... those wooden forks are a disaster... I was offered a new bag of fries, but I'm not looking forward to a rerun of a bad product. The only positive thing I can mention are the drilled holes in the benches where you can place the fries bag.

They take orders quickly and efficiently, with almost no waiting, despite the crowds. Respect for the staff, who remain friendly. I think when they get home, they'll just plop down and be completely full. And the products are excellent. Fresh and crispy. Yes, the prices are a bit steep, but I completely understand. They're still open late, and that requires a lot of staff. Kudos to the business, definitely recommended. An Amsterdammer.

The fries taste good. I especially like the fact that they served a vegetable croquette. Fries are served in a "zakje," the obligatory fries bag. You place your order at the counter, get a "buzzer," and when it buzzes, you pick up your order at the counter. You can sit outside on wooden benches.

Whenever we're here, a visit to Wip-In is a must. The food is truly delicious, and even when it's very busy, the wait time is perfectly acceptable.

The noodle patty was still cold inside. The frikadelles were too soft. The chicken nuggets were too hard. The fries were hard. They've gotten very expensive.

Delicious fries, homemade, mmmm. The kibbeling (fried fish) was perfect with it. Mayonnaise was sublime. Even better in 2024. 2025: only had ice cream, delicious.
