We ordered a small and a medium portion of fries today. Both were very greasy and overcooked. In the end, all that was left were crumbs that tasted absolutely awful. What a shame: we remembered the fries being better.

At first glance from the outside, it looks inviting, but until you step inside, you are immediately surprised by a strange smell hanging in the chip shop. Ordering is easy via the pole on the wall or at the counter. The wait time wasn't long, but now when you get to the food, they say and advertise that it's fresh fries. You get them like snot in a bag for a hefty price. But now I didn't just have fries, but also snacks. My chicken nuggets were okay until I got to my frikandel. I opened my frikandel and there was a big viasco in my bag, everything covered in mayo, and there were a lot of lumps in the frikandel's mayo. And now, the last thing we ate there was a hamburger. The presentation of the burger gets a 0 from me, though the burger tasted good despite everything.

We initially wanted to go to Döner King, but the reviews were so bad that we went to Wip In instead. It was very tasty and the portions were large for not too much money. We'll be back! :)

The food was quite good, but not exactly cheap. The wait was quite long.

These fries are truly excellent and deserve a special mention. The crunch and flavor are amazing! We could have eaten them every day. The atmosphere at the place itself is okay, but if you just take a 3-minute walk up the beach steps with your fries, you'll find a breathtaking setting – something you shouldn't forget!

Unfortunately, almost all the fries were cooked way too long and were very crispy. The meatball was good, the cheeseburger was just okay.

Simply fantastic! I've eaten here several times, and everything is always super fresh and delicious. I had fries with sauté sauce for the first time, so I'm not entirely convinced yet. I'll have to try it again in October to be sure.

As always when we are in Callantsoog, we get a delicious cone of fries here. It was delicious again, nice and crispy fries. It was ready quickly and we were served by a friendly girl with a smile! That makes a day in Callantsoog complete... until tomorrow, or certainly next year!

Ordered at the kiosk, because that was supposed to be faster. After waiting 25 minutes, we asked where our two milkshakes were. They were then made immediately. Many young people were working who only seemed to get in each other's way. In the end, we had to wait 30 minutes for two milkshakes, the banana milkshake of which tasted very chemical. We will not be coming back here.

When we go to Callantsoog, it is a tradition to get some tasty fries here. We checked on Google and it says open at 11:00 instead of 11:30! Maybe a tip to have this changed.

The payment terminals were slow and ordering was time-consuming. The fries were good, and they offer unsalted portions, for example, for children. The fish and chips and kibbeling were okay, but had an unpleasant deep-fried aftertaste. You can sit outside, but there are certainly nicer places. Overall, the price-performance ratio isn't right.

You can tell it's mass production here, and that's reflected in the quality of the snacks. We've been here several times over the last three years, always with good intentions. Unfortunately, the quality is steadily declining. The prices are comparable to the competition, so even that's not a valid excuse for the lower quality. We also noticed the lack of cleanliness. The trays are in a rather unprofessional state. I hope the owners manage to restore the place to its original, high standard.

I can't understand the good reviews. I received three fried fries, half of which I could have thrown away. The burger tasted completely greasy. First and last time.

Fast food place – I've never had such bad kibbeling. Soggy. The fries were better, but almost cold. Every sauce and mayo costs extra. Drinks come in bottles, and you have to pay a deposit, which you don't get back. You can only throw away the empty bottles or take them to the supermarket.

Phew, this was bad. The kibbeling was absolutely not freshly fried (it was like a sponge in frying oil, so dirty) and the fries were swimming in oil right after coming out of the fryer. We just ate the fries and threw away the rest, including the croquette. Paid 40 euros for a portion that gave us a stomach ache.

We were there a few years ago, and I still fondly remember that wonderful snack bar. It wasn't just a place we went to when we were hungry—we went there because the food was simply incredibly delicious. Over time, visiting it became a regular part of our holidays. We went back every day, sometimes even several times a day. The special atmosphere and the delicious food have stayed with us ever since. It's about time we planned another holiday in the Netherlands and visited this exceptional establishment again.

Very good fries with Joppie sauce, some of the best we've ever had. The ice cream is also very good. Overall, the snack bar is good, and the ordering computers are a great solution. I highly recommend it.

Well, it's a chip shop right by the sea – the fries are homemade and fresh daily! Everything just fits together perfectly.

Today we wanted to have a nice meal at Wip-In. We ordered at the kiosk, which turned out to be set to takeaway instead of eat-in. But we couldn't see that. It was a real shame because we just wanted to enjoy a cone of fries out and about. Instead, we had everything in separate bags instead of a paper cone. Disappointed, we took the order back to the campsite. It's a 5-minute drive from Callantsoog. Upon arriving at the campsite, we wanted to eat and realized two small containers of mayonnaise were missing, even though we had paid 1.70 for them. Also, the portion of battered fish was very soggy. My boyfriend thought the fries tasted a bit fishy. We aren't used to this; normally it's always very tasty. We drive all the way from the campsite, where we can also get fries, to Callantsoog specifically for it. This time, we were very disappointed.

Small, hard-fried pieces of fries, so no more cones of fries for me here.

Fries and kibbeling are very tasty, price is okay, but watch out for predatory seagulls.

The fries here are really not good; half are raw, and the other half are overcooked. The atmosphere is like a prison dining hall. And the price of 5.25 (formerly fries) is on the high side.

The vegetarian selection is limited.

Awesome chip shop in Callantsoog. Huge selection of fries, sauces, and snacks. We went there once at the beginning and once at the end of our vacation. Both times it was incredibly delicious and we left satisfied. We'll definitely be back. I highly recommend it!!!

We don't understand the hype around this snack bar. Today we ordered two portions of fries with meat. All we got were broken pieces of fries, and they were rock hard, as if they'd been fried multiple times. There are much better places to go.

It does what it is supposed to do at a high level. The quality is excellent and there is a lot of self-service. In this case, self-service is not a bad thing but actually a good thing; it cannot be compared to a supermarket, of course. Speed ​​and quality go well together. A top entrepreneur I am envious of.

A visit to Wip-In is a must when you're in Callantsoog. The fries are simply amazing!!!

You have to wait at least 45 minutes for your food. It can't be that hard to fry fries.

The food (kibbeling) is very good. However, the staff are very rude and don't even say hello or goodbye.

I think they could teach that employee a thing or two. My mother-in-law was standing with her wallet to pay when she got a slap in the face from an employee standing there. My husband put the slap back, and then she did the same thing again. My husband put it back again. And then she went to tell her story to colleagues, but she didn't say anything; she acted so sadly again.

The fries are absolutely amazing. Made from freshly cut, locally sourced potatoes. You'd be hard-pressed to find better.

Just before closing time, the frying oil was either not hot enough or too old. The kibbeling and fries were soggy and didn't taste fresh. Unfortunately, both ended up in the trash. What a shame…

I wasn't familiar with this fast-food chain before, but it made a very positive impression. You order at the terminal, and a buzzer notifies you when your food is ready. The fries and sauces were delicious, and the veal croquette was also good. The prices are perfectly reasonable, and it's a great place to sit outside when the weather is nice.

It was our first time in Callantsoog, and we ate here right after arriving. We had kibbeling with special fries and a delicious soft-serve ice cream for dessert. Everything was very tasty, the portion was large, and the service was very friendly.

We wanted to order online as we have in previous years. Unfortunately, it's now only possible with a Dutch bank account. Ideal/Wero is the default payment method during the online ordering process and cannot be changed. There's no longer an option to pay by credit card or cash on collection. This makes online ordering impossible for us. Very disappointing 😕

Super cool snack bar/restaurant... the chip bags fit into special holes in the tables so they don't fall over... the kibbeling with garlic sauce was incredibly delicious, and the hand-cut fries were really crispy and crunchy... it's supposedly even open 365 days a year... 1 star deducted for ambiance because there's only 1 table inside and the rest of the seating is outside, which is only possible with a jacket in the spring wind :)

The most delicious fries in the area. We're usually in the Callantsoog area every year, and we always head to Wip-In on the first evening of our holiday. The other little things, like the frikandel and kaassoufflet, are simply delicious too.

Mmm... I've been looking forward to these fries for a whole year! Then, at 10:52 a.m., I actually showed up at the door only to discover, to my horror, that they didn't open until 11:30 a.m. 🙈🙈. BUT the wait was so worth it! The frikandel was amazing! Unfortunately, I didn't get much of the fries; my daughter devoured them! "Best fries ever, Mom!" The holes for the bags in the table are a great idea!! We'll be back!! Again and again!!! We were there again, of course! And what can I say: Best!!

For the past three years, we've been vacationing on Texel instead of Callantsoog, but a visit to Whip's is still a MUST ☝🏻

French fries, meat croquettes, frikandel – the usual chip shop fare. Even when it's busy, they're organized and quick. When you order, you get a pager that signals when your food is ready; there's no table service. There's plenty of seating outside. Unfortunately, there are recurring problems paying with credit cards via Google Wallet.

Dec 2025: To be fair, the fries are delicious. At least, that was the case last time. Now I left the restaurant empty-handed. The reason: the staff completely ignores you. They don't look at you, and the employee walks past you three times without any discernible awareness of your presence. I know you're here for the delicious fries, not for an uplifting and positive conversation. But, I think some kind of hospitality is nice. Look people in the eye and say, for example, "I'll be right with you." Simple, right? Feb & Oct 2025: These are what we call "detour fries." Really delicious, homemade, fresh fries. We're from the Achterhoek region and, of course, the beach, and these delicious fresh fries are another reason for us to go to the beach in Callantsoog and end the day at Wip-In.

Unfortunately, the fries aren't tasty again; they seem to have been fried twice, and they're no longer the quality I came for before. Also, the fries were very greasy at some places; they weren't fresh, so they were hard. ...too bad.
