Wunderbar in Wijk 00 Stad

The name is perfect. Very friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and truly delicious food. We had a schnitzel with cheese and the Wunderbar special; it's highly recommended. Plenty of meat, and very tasty. We also split it for dessert; the cappuccino was even delicious. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Winterswijk.

We ate here last Friday. The food was truly delicious! A lovely atmosphere and decor. An open kitchen. Calm and knowledgeable chef. But what we laughed about most was the Christmas melody that played as soon as the oven was ready. Brilliant! Definitely recommended! Next time, I'll just order a small schnitzel. 300 grams with so much topping was way too much. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that until much later.

It was super cozy! We were there with another couple we didn't know who were also going to René van Meurs. We sat together at a table and had a wonderful meal and conversation. The owner was very friendly, with his son working in the kitchen. We'll definitely come back when we're in Winterswijk! 👍

From the outside, everything looked a bit sleepy. We were turned away because dogs aren't allowed! Unfortunately, we can't rate the food.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my visit. When my meal was served, I found a hair in it. Something like that simply shouldn't happen in a restaurant, as it overshadows the entire experience. While mistakes can happen occasionally, in this case, it wasn't handled professionally – neither a proper apology nor any accommodating attitude from the staff. Hygiene is the most important thing for me in the restaurant industry, and unfortunately, I didn't feel well looked after here.

Delicious schnitzel and cozy atmosphere

Looks like a traditional Dutch pub. Friendly staff. Good food, especially meat, but that's in line with the name. Germans love meat.

I thought it was a fantastic atmosphere, the food was great, the staff was friendly, and my family and I enjoyed the hospitality. I personally think an open kitchen is great because it's honest, no messing around, pure quality. You gave us a wonderful evening, thank you all! 😄

We had a wonderful evening. The owner was very friendly – he set up special parasols, gave the kids art supplies, and gave them ice cream and lollipops for dessert. The food was delicious: the schnitzel, steak, and even the vegetarian carving, as well as the fries and side salad, were all delicious. The ambiance and service are just perfect.

They serve very large schnitzels here. We were given a spot on the terrace, but unfortunately, smoking was allowed there. And that's so disgusting while eating. We should have sat inside.

Very cozy sitting with 4 people, neat fast relaxed service. Just remember taxis and uber are not invented in Winterswijk yet so walked a hell of a way to the hotel. Final conclusion, I would like to see this café in our village, recommended.

Super lekker eten ook echt waar voor je geld, dus genoeg, meestal blijft er nog over! Zeer vriendelijke bediening ook en je wijnglas wordt rijkelijk gevuld! 👌

Yesterday the four of us had a delicious meal at Wunderbar! The food came in large portions, but if you prefer a smaller schnitzel, that is also possible. The food was also certainly tasty. The cafe has a very nice, relaxed atmosphere with a super friendly and hospitable manager. What we also found a plus yesterday was that he came to ask if we were ready for the main course and that we wanted to wait a little longer, great service! We can highly recommend Wunderbar!

Het restaurant ziet er erg gezellig uit en is ook gezellig. Aardige bediening. De muziek is leuk. Je gunt dit bedrijf veel credits. Maar eerlijk is eerlijk, het eten was niet je van het. De schnitzels waren kurkdroog met veel paneermail. Je moet het hebben van de topping op de schnitzel. Broodje is lekker, koffie is goed. Ga niet vlakbij de deur zitten, je bevriest. De eigenaar draaide bij herhaling de thermostaat terug. Wellicht als je steeds heen en weer loopt, dat het warm hebt, maar als je stil zit (naast de deur) zakt de temperatuur snel. We komen niet graag hier terug.

Highly recommended! Cozy eatery. Schnitzels that barely fit on your plate and delicious fries. The other dishes also looked delicious. When we are in the Winterswijk area, we will definitely go there again.

If you are going to start a café and you want to know how an owner should behave, this is the place for you! Here you are not a customer but a guest! And then a nice young chef in the open kitchen who is sure that everything he sends out of the kitchen is correct. We came in for a drink but ended up having a delicious meal and drinks afterwards. Are you going to Winterswijk? Then go to Wunderbar!!

At the campsite and bad weather. So looking for some food. Called and there was room later. When you enter you immediately have a welcoming feeling. The ladies enjoy a schnitzel and we men enjoy the well-known meat board. And what a board. Usually with those combination mix grill dishes, there is always something disappointing. Well not now. Delicious steak perfectly cooked. Delicious chicken thigh fillet satay, delicious schnitzel and fantastic spare ribs. Everything dressed with a wide choice of sauce. And really delicious fries. Staff friendly and welcoming. Very occasionally you still come across it. Old-fashioned hospitality. Real catering tigers. People who understand that catering is about hospitality. That it is hard work and a profession. The team shows that there. Business hospitable. With an eye for detail and personal attention. Your spareribs are really good. Maybe an idea to make shareribs from it for the terrace. Everyone eats from a bowl. Still a small point of criticism. Music could have been a bit quieter for me and checking the sanitary facilities in between wouldn't be a bad idea either. For people who just want to eat good food, who recognize and appreciate hospitality and do not expect a fancy place. Very good. Folks, I say enjoy. Of the people and the food Definitely recommended.

We chose a selection with 8 people: schnitzel, spare ribs, beef steak and satay skewers...all very tasty, the spare ribs were the highlight. The music contributed to a good atmosphere, but we were also in a bit of a party mood. We sat outside and had to move inside due to a thunderstorm, which the staff also took care of very well.

We were at Wunderbar with 10 people on May 25th, 2024. A table reservation for us in the restaurant was confirmed for 6:30 p.m. We were greeted with very loud music, which made it difficult for us to have a conversation throughout our stay. We didn't take advantage of the "all you can eat" offer. We ordered 2x chicken, 2x schnitzel and 6x salmon. The bottled beer we ordered was not properly chilled (i.e. warm), except for the 0% version. The French fries were placed in open wire baskets on the table or on the small hand-knotted carpets that lay on the table, very appetizing. The chicken was very fatty, the salmon was ok. I returned 2/3 of my schnitzel. No matter where I wanted to cut off a piece, a “clean” cut with the knife was not possible. The entire schnitzel was chewy! When I tried to cut it, large pieces of breading came off the meat, revealing the pure meat. After returning the tough piece of meat and a short wait (probably due to an internal cutting test in the kitchen), the chef present apologized to me and offered a replacement. But that didn't happen because our group didn't want to stay there any longer because of the loud music. Alternatively, there was no reduction in my menu price.

Had a great time yesterday on the terrace at Wuderbar. The food and drinks and service fantastic.

Already eaten a few times and it was just great, good and friendly people, highly recommended... and see you again soon.

The first impressions were already not very pleasant. I came to an empty restaurant and sat down for a beer and something to eat. I chose a table for six people because I liked the spot. I was promptly asked to move to a table for two people as I was alone. I was sat down in the middle of the room with entrance door blowing cold air at me and the staff walking around me every two seconds. I stress again, it was an empty restaurant, I don't see why I couldn't have stayed at my preferred spot. I was gone in 50 minutes and the restaurant was still empty by that time. The food is very expensive for what it is. Maybe I didn't choose the popular option but the schnitzel with ham and cheese was OK, not great, not bad. Some of the fries were not cooked properly and were still raw inside. The mayo was quite good. Salad on the side also quite good. For a Pilsner and a small ham and cheese schnitzel I paid around 23 euros which I think for the quality of the food is too steep. Overall I would come again but I wouldn't choose the schnitzel again.

It was super tasty! ! ! We had a platter for 6 people on the recommendation of the employee, which was delicious. TOP. It had everything on it, schnitzel, ribs, beef fillet & sate. Various sauces, salad & fries! 👍👍👍

In a word, Wunderbar. Hospitable, with humor, visible pleasure in their profession and the correct etiquette where necessary. The schnitzel was very tasty, the fries great and mayonnaise instead of fries sauce. With a salad and an egg for €5. 😉 I don't really understand some of the reviews, it's a small tent after all, so yes, it's a matter of trying and measuring. They can't add 4 meters or something. We will definitely come back again!

We hebben met onze Brabantse vriendengroep een topavond gehad bij jullie. Jullie hebben geweldig goed met ons mee gedacht om ons perfect in de watten te leggen. Zeer zeker een aanrader voor iedereen en voor herhaling vatbaar. Zeer gezellig bij jullie. Lekker eten en drinken en gezellige muziek. Een echt feestje. Brabantse gezelligheid in de achter een gevoel zoals thuis.

Afgelopen zomer waren we voor een paar nachtjes in de omgeving van Winterswijk. Wunderbar hadden we gevonden via internet. We hebben daar echt ontzettend lekker gegeten, ruime porties, leuk terras gelegen op de Markt, vriendelijke bediening en heerlijk weer. Wat wil een mens nog meer, zeker nog eens voor herhaling vatbaar!

Heerlijk gegeten en top service. Vader en zoon werken leuk samen. Ziet er na de vakantie weer zeer netjes en fris uit!!

Biertje gedaan hier, aardige mensen. WC's zijn wel een puinhoop. Ook de keuken is erg vies. Bier is er wel lekker!😃

Slecht. Rommelig. Ik zat naast 6 bierfusten. Voorgerechten werden op bierkaartje geschreven. Radler 0.0 was op. Vet van de spare ribs af moeten schrapen.

Heerlijk gegeten bij de Wunderbar. Schnitzel precies zoals ik hem het liefste heb. Recentelijk daar ook gegeten en een biefstuk gegeten. Hartstikke lekker.

Heerlijk gegeten drankje erbij . Bediening goed jesy lacht alleen maar heeft voor iedereen tijd voor een praatje.

Zondag jl mail gestuurd met aanvraag voor reservering voor a.s zaterdag. Woensdag maar eens gebeld omdat ik nog geen bevestiging had ontvangen. Kreeg ik als antwoord: helaas we zitten helemaal vol. Zeer slecht en amateuristisch handelen van Wunderbar. Geen aanrader!

Wat n gezellige tent. Soort bruine kroeg met heerlijke muziek op de achtergrond en een zeer vriendelijke gastheer! Super schnitzel (veel keuzes en alles kan) en zelfs de keuze om n wat kleinere te bestellen!!! Zouden meer restaurants een voorbeeld aan kunnen nemen. Heerlijke sla en frietjes erbij. Wunderbar Winterswijk is inderdaad gastvrij klantvriendelijk en bovendien een toprestaurant.

Wat hebben wij een leuke avond gehad, in de 1e plaats door de heerlijke schnitzels. Daarna raakten we aan de praat met de 2 heren van het restaurant. Bijzonder hartelijke gastheren, waardoor er een heel gezellig gesprek ontstond. Na koffie en thee van het huis en een flesje bier mee voor in de hotelkamer afgerekend en naar ons hotel terug gegaan. Als we weer eens jn Winterswijk of omgeving zijn weten wij wel waar we een hapje gaan eten. Bedankt voor de top avond.

Hier gibt es die besten Schnitzel weit und breit! Absolut empfehlenswert. Auch der Inhaber ist ein echtes Original und sehr freundlich und aufgeschlossen! Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in der Wunderbar! Immer gerne wieder!!!

Lang moeten wachten op het eten, houd daar rekening mee. Wel lekker en meer dan voldoende. Meisje deed erg haar best, pluim. Ze komt er wel. Lekker en voordelig gegeten.

We hebben hier leuk op het terras gezeten. Dit met een heerlijk weizenbier met opluistering van schlagermuziek.

Goed Duits eten in een eenvoudig restaurant. Zeker als de eigenaar zelf in de keuken staat. Hoop dat dit restaurant niet ten onder gaat in zijn eigen suc6.

Zeer goede service. Denken met klant mee. Goed eten voor weinig. Productkennis van het eten wat er wordt geserveerd.
