Our reservation was 6;15 and one of your staff come to us at 7 said this will be your last order , have to give the table back around 7 . Later I said I thought we will have two hours , how can we finish the food just arrive . Later she find out is her or the manager mistake but still no apologies 🤷🏻‍♀️

Had a terrific time and a terrific meal here! The staff is amazingly kind, and were very helpful when we had trouble with a strange passerby. Can for sure recommend visiting ☺️!

My family and I went to this restaurant. After ordering, we waited for over 15 minutes, so I asked again and found out they had forgotten to record my order. Also, my child is only 5 years old, so I asked for children's cutlery, but it was extremely dirty. They claimed it wasn't their fault, but a problem with the cleaning machine. I was extremely disappointed with the service and hygiene of this restaurant. Therefore, I advise everyone not to take children to this restaurant. If you absolutely must go, please think very carefully.

The skewers are the best choice, also the drinks. The rest of menu is OK. But it is a nice place to hang out and drink.

Great food and excellence service. Tasty food some yakitori skewers was mediocre while some were splendid. Tonkatsu sausage way to sweet but fried in a good way and taste wise. 🙂

Absolutely delicious. The preparation of the meat was fantastisc and on point. The staff was very kind as well. It felt like we were back in Japan, even though the yakitori are quite expensive if you have a big appetite and want a full meal out of it.

I ate here recently and it was sooooo delicious!! The service is super good; they are eager to help you and walk around a lot! The food arrived quickly and tasted so flavorful and top quality. The skewers are very tasty to start with and there are plenty of options to choose from! In addition, we ordered the coleslaw, which was nice and fresh and great to have on the side. The eggplant was very tender, the ebi tempura a classic snack that is always tasty, and finally, we had the unagi don with miso soup. The unagi was really delicious with soft, fluffy rice on the side! Normally I don't really like miso soup, but this one was super tasty and really nice to have with it! Finally, we had the matcha pudding, which was really tasty; we were both surprised that we actually liked it, so we definitely recommend it! I actually never write extensive reviews, but we had such a good experience and the food was delicious!! We would love to come back☺️☺️

Wow! Best meal I’ve had in Amsterdam. Very authentic and beats any other restaurant in the area! Ramen was extremely tasty and they are not shy with the portions either. Food was served rapidly and even though I ordered extra chicken after my food had arrived, it turned up within about 2 minutes. Service also very friendly people. Can’t wait to come back for breakfast tomorrow! 🍳

Been here multiple times and thought it was worthwhile leaving a review! Price / quality ratio for Amsterdam is spot on. Variety of freshly made and grilled over charcoal yakitori is great and sides such as the chicken miso kyuri and potato salad are the perfect accompaniments. Really tasty. Atmosphere is similar to yakitori’s I’ve visited in Japan and was packed on Saturday night. Recommend a try before you visit one of the more (in my opinion) overpriced places.

EVERYTHING IS 10/10. I’ve come here twice and let me give you the landscape: 1. Aburi Shime-saba - my first time having mackerel. Absolutely, amazing texture. The flavor was soooo good. I closed my eyes whenever I ate it. 2. Kimchi - best!!! Kimchi!!! I’ve!!! Ever!!! Had!!! So tasty. A bit spicy 10/10 3. Tebasaki Kaarage - Tasty. Very tasty. Not my style to be honest but I still liked it. NOW TO THE STARS OF THE SHOW. This place is Izakhaya style. So this is about skewers and drinking food. 1. Mune - not the best thing on their menu. It’s chicken breast and that’s what you’re getting 2. Norimayo Tsukune - OMG chicken meatballs. I fell in love!!! 3. Shio-Negi Gyu-Harami - beef skewers with leek. AHHHHHH…THIS WAS SOOOOOO GOOOOODDD. I had more than 6! 4. Gyu-Tan - Beef tongue. I grew up having beef tongue and this is very good but rather prefer the other things on this menu 5. Buta-bara- pork belly. Still REALLY tasty but the other things on the menu are so good that it’s kind of overshadowed.

We went for lunch and had a great time, super friendly personnel and fast service. We both had Gyudon with an extra soft boiled egg and I myself had the cheese on top. We really loved it, but the cheese was a bit too much for me, i could have done with half of it. It made me full too fast. But that is personal preference. Other than that we had kimçhi which was delicious and creamy and finally the Miso soup that we had was really, really good. Very refreshing as well. I can highly recommend yakitori Hanabi if you are into Japanese Comfort food.

I usually enjoy your food and service genuinely. But, today in the heat wave, outside was 35 degree and inside of the restaurant was way hotter than outside and humid due to the kitchen. AC was broken according to a server. The environment was not appropriate to have a dinner. Thanks for the refund of the deposit, but I hope you find a solution to serve proper environment in this heat wave.

They only have beef bowls for lunch now, but they're cheap and delicious.

The marinated mackerel was incredibly tasty and had a surprisingly unique flavor. I also loved the kimchi with a little sesame oil – I even ate two portions of it! 😄 When settling the bill, it turned out that there were two extra drinks on the bill that we hadn't ordered. Because we were a large group and paid for the whole table, it was difficult to notice this at the time. Fortunately, the restaurant responded immediately after contacting them and refunded the amount. I really appreciate that. It's nice to see that they take this seriously and resolve it properly! All in all, we had a delicious meal and I would love to come back again.

Really lovely little restaurant, with friendly staff and good food. We composed our own skewers menu and all came warm and delicious. Don't miss the "onion that wanted to be a flower": soft and crispy and hearthy and sweet, it's really a very nice dish. Going back to try some other specialities of the chef.

If you are looking for a great variety of lunch options, you will be disappointed with their new lunch menu. The lunch menu has only two options: beef don and veg croquette don, there’s it. It is a great deal for lunch (€10 for a regular don), however, I miss the previous menu and this is not I was craving for.

The food was authentic and absolutely delicious. You could taste that the food was grilled on charcoal which elevated the experience. Service was excellent, staff was kind and helpful. Would definitely return to this place!

A nice and tasty little Japanese restaurant if you like yakitori. They have a wide selection on the menu. Besides yakitori, they also have other delicious dishes, such as the Chicken Nanban, which was very crispy and flavorful. The rice bowl was also tasty. The desserts were good, but not very special. The restaurant is busy and not very big, so reservations are necessary.

Best yakitori in Amsterdam! The place is on the ground floor of the Hanabi restaurant, and the first floor hosts the sushi place. The energy and staff make you feel like you are in Japan, with Japanese staff, and at that particular day, a large Japanese group dining in as well. The menu has several options to mix and match your preferences, but there are also pre made mixes for one who’s never been to a Japanese BBQ place. Definitely coming back there soon!

I ate here recently, and it must be said that there is a lively, bustling atmosphere. The atmosphere is best described as downright chaotic. This is due to a mix of a hyperactive employee running back and forth through the restaurant and a constant state of communication confusion because the conversation takes place in an unintelligible mix of Japanese and English (ratio 70% / 30%). When the dishes arrive at the table, they are named, yet you still have no clue what you are eating. Regarding the food: we ordered two standard menus, supplemented with a wide variety of additional yakitori dishes, followed by a few dishes from the à la carte menu. This was indicated, but nevertheless, we ordered everything at once in the first round. The result is that all the dishes appear on the table at breakneck speed and simultaneously, only to cool down there if you don't eat quickly. In any case, the variety of the yakitori dishes is disappointing; I had expected much more variety. All in all, there are a number of basic yakitori dishes that can be distinguished from one another by a topping (Cheese or Salted Leek Sauce). As a result, the menu comes across as lazy. Perhaps I had high expectations, but as far as I am concerned, yakitori as a satisfying main component of a visit is not feasible here. And that is strange for a yakitori restaurant. Should I plan a second visit, it will likely be more of a dressed-up drinks session: a drink, a few yakitori on the side ‘just for the fun’, waiting a bit to prevent everything from being put on the table at once, and ordering another rice dish. I might possibly go out for dinner somewhere afterwards.

This is a true hidden gem in Amsterdam! It's close to De Melkweg. The staff are truly typically Japanese, very friendly. They have a fantastic selection of dishes. The price-quality ratio is excellent. I had five different skewers, and every one was delicious. I'll be dragging my boyfriend along next time 😂❤️

This is one of my favorite places in Amsterdam! The staff came to our table was so friendly and nice, also the food was really good like always. Just one thing I realized later the deposit I paid for reservation was not applied when we paid at the restaurant, but it's okay I got the mail about it will refund soon.

Yakitori Night! If you want “khood”quality meal, where you really hitting that raspy G, try Hanabi 🎆 Recommended by my hair dresser (Fuji hair, if you’re in need of a good scissor cut), this place does not disappoint.

The fish is cold and fishy, and the service attitude is perfunctory. Don't eat it. It's too bad. The price is outrageous. The barbecue is either too raw or too sticky. I saw this store taking a detour. After dinner, there was a fishy smell in my mouth, just like putting fish outside at 40 degrees in summer for a week.

We had a reservation for 7 people. We paid a €10 deposit per person. Fine. One person couldn't make it in the end, so only €60 was deducted from the bill. Understandable, if they didn't just give that spot away to other customers. Hey, just leave that table alone. We paid €10 for it. The food was fine, but not that great. Only six locals who could have become regulars, none of whom come here anymore.

Ordered for takeaway, when I arrived to pick it up I was sorry that i didn't just sit down. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing food. Can highly recommend, one of the best places in the area.

The food was delicious with lots of options, and the blooming onion was a highlight! We ordered still water which costs 4euros ++ because they said they don’t serve tap water, but it was served in a plain, unlabelled jug and seemed like regular tap water. Despite that, everything else was great, and the staff were very friendly.

We recently visited this Japanese restaurant, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The food was incredibly delicious — full of authentic flavors and beautifully presented. Having just been to Japan a couple of months ago, we were amazed by how genuine everything felt — it truly brought us back there. The service was also outstanding: attentive, friendly, and professional. Overall, a perfect dining experience that we can’t wait to repeat!

Title: Very disappointing experience – terrible service and average food We had a very disappointing experience at this Yakitori restaurant in Amsterdam. The service was extremely poor. We had to sit at our table for about 15 minutes before anyone even greeted us. When a waitress finally came, the first thing she told us was that we had exactly one hour to order, eat, and pay. When we asked for some advice about the menu, the waitress was completely clueless and not helpful at all. After finally placing our order, we realized we only had about 50 minutes left before we would be asked to leave. Throughout the whole meal, the staff kept rushing us and reminding us about the time. After a long wait, the dishes arrived — but only half of what we ordered. The waitress had forgotten part of our order, so we had to ask again. When we finished eating, we found out that another dish had never even made it to the table because she forgot to pick it up from the kitchen. Exactly one hour and fifteen minutes after we arrived, the waitress brought us the bill without asking if we wanted dessert or coffee. The payment terminal even asked if we wanted to leave a tip — quite ironic given the service we received. The food itself was nothing special, very average at best. Overall, absolutely not recommended. There are many better places in Amsterdam where you can get decent food and respectful service.

Best Japanese restaurant in town!

This is one of my favorite places ever, I come here every week. The food is delicious, healthy and protein packed; so great after a workout! Fantastic people. Can’t give them enough stars.

We went here during lunch and the person who served us was very friendly. The lunch menu seems to be different from the dinner menu and therefore we did not manage to try their Yakitoris. However, the curry Katsu was very delicious, the Katsu was crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The Unagi Don was okay but probably one of the better ones that you can find in the Netherlands. Miso soup was hearty and tasty. We also liked their Kaku highball. The staff are Japanese here. We would definately go back to try the Yakitoris!

Overal we had a nice dinner there. Food was good. Only the Seared Bonito was not that tasty. I had better ones before. I find it very fishy even with the toppings.

The food is decent, you have to pay an advance of 10 euros per person (and that’s fair i understand) and I called to 4-5 hours before to announce that one of my friends was sick and that he wasn’t coming. I still had to pay the 10 euros without deducting it from the bill.

A solid Yakitori spot. One of the best parts of Amsterdam is the food scene. So much good food is hidden around every corner Yakitori Hanabi is no exception and delivered on delicious grilled skewers and cold beer. Nothing better on a rainy day!

All 10 skewers of yakitori were absolutely delicious, and the quality of all the food was high! The atmosphere and food quality were just like those of a Japanese izakaya! The food was of such high quality that you won't find it even in Japan. The staff were also friendly, and I left the restaurant feeling good! I'll definitely go again! By the way, I went right when they opened on Sunday without a reservation, and it was empty!

Had dinner with three people yesterday. It was delicious, with a nice atmosphere, attentive service, and very friendly staff. The salads were delicious, the fries were also super tasty and crispy, and the yakitori chicken nan ban were also fantastic! We'll definitely be back!

Just absolutely fantastic. - Authentic, delicious Japanese kitchen. Everything is fresh, flavours are deep and never bore you. - Getting the 10-piece yakitori set is strongly recommended. - Drinks are great! Get a glass of umeshu with soda, you won't be disappointed. - The matcha pudding is fantastic. Allegedly "the best in Europe" :) - The staff are also very kind and attentive. Don't forget to book a table!

Hanabi Yakitori had a wide selection of skewers, including vegetarian options. We chose the "Yakitori 10-Piece Set." They weren't spectacular, but as expected, they were tasty. We ordered a few more later. The cheese skewers were delicious. The rice dish was also very tasty, well-seasoned and full of flavor. A small but cozy restaurant in the middle of Leidseplein, definitely recommended.

The food is absolutely delicious, especially the skewers. If you're planning to dine there, I recommend getting the skewer set (10 pieces) so you can try a variety of flavors. It's perfect for sharing between two people. The float drinks are also worth trying! The restaurant is a bit small so i recommend to make a resevation especially during weekends.

Coming from Toronto we have a ton of great Japanese options but this restaurant blew me away. The meat quality and flavours were amazing, service is awesome, and overall I felt super satisfied with my meal. Highly suggest coming here and going crazy with the skewers. The Chicken Nanban was unreal.

Overpriced，beef very hard not tender. Yakitori doesnt taste that good in terms of its price
