Me and my girlfriend used to visit Zithoek regularly when we lived in the area. It’s a very cute local coffee place with delicious coffee and cinnamon rolls. The owner is also very nice and has an eye for details (whether that be design or way of serving the coffee) :)

Stumbled across this spontaneously. Very nice place with a very nice owner who has a really nice conversation with you. Would recommend this place to everyone. Plus nice newspapers and a quiet reading spot!

Popped in today on our way to Skatepark Noord. Really lovely warm welcome, really really great coffee. Got my loyalty card stamped, not sure when I will get it filled, but I'll be back.

Don't get me wrong, this place has great coffee and the service is very friendly, but I do have to say the cinnamon roll was very disappointing. The problem with it was that it was extremely dense (probably because it did not rise enough) and lacked sweetness, next to that portion wise it was more like a 'mini cinnamon roll'. I also have to say that the prices here are quite high, especially for this area of Amsterdam. Overall I would still recommend trying their coffee.

The coffee was delicious! Probably the best Flat White I've had in the city. Took home a bag of their Community Blend, which they happily grinded for me as well.

I haven't drunk coffee in over 30 years. That being said, I had a lovely cup of ginger tea and some wonderful blueberry crumble here.

A bit hidden, but a great place to be discovered: Best cappuccino, the cinnamon rolls smell wonderful and mega nice hosts! A tiny café worth to be discovered. We stumbled in eventually and got rewarded with the best coffee you can get. The smell of cinnamon rolls is tempting and the barista is just a nice guy to talk to. Absolutely recommended!

We went here on our final day in Amsterdam and it was the best coffee we had our whole trip. Such a lovely little cafe with the most warm and kind barista. The sitting area was so comforting and cozy. If I didn’t have a flight to catch I would of stayed for hours. I wish I was a local just so I could visit here every day!

I wanted to have a coffee and check my email. That is strongly discouraged here. So I'll move on.

This was such a cute little place that we stumbled upon by accident! Loved their iced latte and flat white accompanied with their home made brownies. The barista was the loveliest lady and welcomed everybody as if she were welcoming us into her home. Huiselijke vibes, warm and cozy. Yum!

The few times I went in the guy behind the counter appeared pretty apathetic to(wards) me; Their prices are a bit high for the neighborhood, meaning it`s not that gentrified as they seem to want it to be.. Which is all not necessarily note worthy for a review I feel, but once had a take away coffee and a few moments later I spilled a bit on myself and I literally got a blister that turned into a big wound later from how boiling hot the coffee was... Coffee is never supposed to be boiling hot. So I haven`t been back since, which was the summer of 2022; Meaning this could have all resolved in the meantime. Since I was very surprised to see ``highly rated`` as I was searching for something completely different on maps; Which created this unstoppable urge to leave a slightly different review from my entirely different experiences than most. To be honest, a part of me felt I was intentionally given the boiling hot coffee, that`s how welcomed I had felt every time I came in and the one time I decided to sit there for a bit.

Zamówiłam kawę americano i ciastko cynamonowe. Bardzo smaczne. Wystawiłabym maksimum, ale ... Rozumiem, że jest zalecane by nie używać laptopów, ale dlaczego jest to zabronione? Byłam sama i nikogo obok. Z kim miałam się łączyć? Poza tym, gdy przyszłam, to była tam kobieta, która cały czas korzystała z telefonu, a potem przyszedł chłopak z IPadem. Czym różni się telefon czy IPad od laptopa? Tylko wielkością. Fakt, że zwrócono mi uwagę, że nie wolno używać tam laptopów, gdy zostałam sama zostawił we mnie niesmak. Może źle zrobiłam, że wybrałam to miejsce, bo czytałam o tym, że laptopy nie są mile widziane. Niemniej jednak, okoliczności wydawały mi się sprzyjające.

Sie haben sehr gute Backwaren mit begrenzter Auswahl. Das Personal scheint jedoch unfreundlich und gestresst. An einem Regentag solltest du die Bäckerei lieber nicht besuchen, denn drinnen gibt es kaum genug Plätze.

The ZITHOEK couldn't be named anything else. It is a cute corner where you can sit and chat, inside and out, with an incredible cup of coffee made especially for you. Michael is hands down one of the best baristas I've come across in my coffee-soaked 37 years. He speaks to the pride of coffee snobs like me as well as the simplicity of those just looking for the idea of a caffeine hit. And as a local, it's priceless and essential to have such a gem less than 5mins walk away. [edit] It’s been three years since I wrote this review and nothing has changed except that we miss it very much (we no longer live in Holland). During the lockdowns, the zithoek community became a haven and micheal bent over backwards to keep this alive. And we in turn let him. 😂☺️

Ondanks dat de Zithoek aan een druk kruispunt ligt, is het een van m'n favoriete koffie tenten in Amsterdam. Dat komt door de heerlijke koffie, zelfgemaakte gebakjes (tip: kaneelbroodje!) en vriendelijkheid door het personeel. Ook dat het geen onderdeel is van een grote keten spreekt mij zeer aan

Wir haben in diesem kleinen Ecklokal mit hausgemachtem Gebäck und einem hervorragenden Kaffee gefrühstückt und sind gleich am nächsten Tag wiedergekommen. Ausgesprochen freundliche, multilinguale Bedienung. Alles einfach und unkompliziert, auch die Einrichtung. Authentische, gelassene und kosmopolitische Wohlfühlatmosphäre. Aufgeschlossene, gesprächsbereite und unterhaltsame Gäste von denen die meisten sich in verschiedenen Sprachen unterhalten können. Nichts für Frühstücksbuffet-Liebhaber mit Wunsch nach gehobenen Service.
