4'33 grand café in Oostelijk Havengebied

Ik wil hier vrijdag gaan eten voorafgaand aan het concert. Dus koks en kelners ......zet jullie beste beentjes voor, want de recensies tot nu toe zijn niet al te best!! En de vorige keer, een paar maanden geleden, dat ik hier at was de kwaliteit zeeeer matig. Zo jammer van dit prachtige restaurant!

Jammer dat dit restaurant op deze prachtige plek zit. Salade geitenkaas was meer dan basic. De paté te koud en vrij smakeloos. Hoofdgerechten net okay., maar niks meer dan dat. Te duur voor wat je krijgt. Ik ga er niet meer eten en raad t ook niet aan. Personeel aardig, maar op 1 ober na, erg onhandig en onervaren.

Mwah….. echt wel aardige bediening hoor, maar de Ravioli op de kaart kun je beter op de kaart laten staan, die was vlak van smaak, beetje liefdeloos op het bord “gekwakt” met een pluk rucola erop. Nee, niet hoofdgerechtwaardig. De fransen, die naast ons zaten hadden het ook besteld en waren eveneens niet enthousiast.

La red (pato y los raviolis) eran excelentes. ¡No voy a compartir el entrante la próxima vez! La calidad de la noche (ubicación, servicio y comida) no fue igualado por el precio razonable. Gran valor.

To put it mildly: un-empathetic host. Not allowed to sit inside while it was empty because there was “only service on terrace” in the blazing sun. Not even allowed a drink inside while they were going to put up parasols (which I never saw). Got a sunburn while waiting for the event to start. Drinks were more expensive on terrace:€8,50 for Aparol spritz on the menu, €10 on the terrace in the app! No flexibility, no kindness: unloving experience. Ordered Prosecco took 30 minutes and was warm. Waiting staff was friendly and in-experienced. It’s a great location.

Visited café 4/33 for the first time. Disinterested staff. Upon arrival we were asked what are you doing. Strange reception. Also had to beckon to the waiter several times. No reaction.

The steak was very tender and the tortellini a poem. The prices are in keeping with the times. And I can only recommend it to everyone. Very friendly employees! Small menu but tasty food, nice atmosphere.

The risotto was very good in taste, but it was too mushy. You could no longer detect the rice (used the wrong rice, stood up too long?). When I made a comment about this to the older and stockier waiter, he responded with "Okay!". So I said "Are you okay with that?". He would pass it on to the kitchen. Worthless response of course. Then the cheese board. The younger server could not tell what was on the plate, but he went to the kitchen. Then he came back with the overview showing that there should actually have been five pieces on the board instead of four. But the morbier was gone. You'll have to find that out soon. And if those four pieces were of considerable size, that was not the case. The food, the service (especially the dark waitress) and the atmosphere were all fine (carafe of tap water was not charged: kudos), but in my opinion these were two serious issues that were not handled properly.

Cozy place, surprisingly tasty food. During the evening the waiting staff became slightly less attentive. It was therefore very busy.

Veel te duur voor wat je krijgt! Toetje idioot qua prijs, 11,50 euro voor een piepklein stukje cheesecake! Je moet maar durven hè! Nee, daar ga ik niet meer eten, overtrokken Amsterdams!

Je zit er vorstelijk. Er is van alles te zien. We hebben heerlijk gegeten. Jammer dat 1 van de collega's niet zo goed kan rekenen. Bij het betalen van de rekening voelde ik aan mijn water, hoewel ik cola gedronken had, dat de rekening te hoog was. En jawel hoor. De collega had 10 euro teveel gerekend. Hoe dat kan......ik snap dat niet. U wel?

Matige gerechten en bepald niet goedkoop

Het Grand Café 4/33 (van Dudok aan het IJ & Muziekgebouw) krijgt van mij een 10 voor kwaliteit, het terras met uitzicht op het IJ ook een 10 voor ambiance, maar een 6 voor (de reactiesnelheid van) bediening, dus gemiddeld een 8,6. Zou hoger zijn als de overigens vriendelijke bediening alerter zou reageren én we niet zo lang hadden hoeven wachten op het (heerlijke) dessert. Dat hadden we besteld té kort voor de aanvang van het concert blijkbaar, toen 'iedereen' tegelijk dessert bestelde. Daar raakte de keuken overbelast van. Niet dat het dessert eronder leed. Het verdient dus aanbeveling ruim voor aanvang van het concert te reserveren voor het diner of souper. Wij hadden tafel gereserveerd voor halfzeven, terwijl het concert om kwart over acht begon. Dat bleek dus te krap bemeten toen het drukbezocht was. Minstens 2,5 uur van tevoren reserveren zou ik nu zeggen.

Prachtige plek met fantastisch uitzicht over Amsterdam. Jammer dat het niet mogelijk was een voorgerecht te bestellen niet alle gerechten besteld konden worden en het wel toegezegde dessert uiteindelijk ook niet mogelijk was.

Tolles Café. Schöne Aussicht auf die Maas. Da ich nicht gespeist habe, kann ich keine Bewertung über das Essen abgeben.

It's so uptight and white it makes me feel uncomfortable. And I'm super white.

Leider wird dieses Restaurant dem schönen Ambiente nicht gerecht. Zuerst mussten wir einige Minuten warten und als der Kellner kam, murmelte er in einem für mich nicht direkt verständlichen Englisch, so dass ich nachfragen musste. Nach meiner Nachfrage schaute er mich an und ging. Eine wirklich unfreundliche Art von diesem Kellner. Ich hoffe Sie werden eine bessere Erfahrung machen.

Hier geweest voor een van de terrasconcerten. De zonsondergang op de achtergrond aan het water was erg sfeervol. Eten was me te zout en kon beter gepresenteerd worden.

Louder than you'd expect, not entirely sure John Cage would be happy with this.

I ate the cod fish with Bacon, it was amazing!! Place and vibe are so relaxing and enjoyable as well...

Hardwerkend personeel (overigens veel te weinig) , eten aardig maar niet bijzonder. Locatie geweldig, goed voorafje naar Het Bimhuis

Heerlijk gegeten hier met een prachtig uitzicht over het IJ, alleen jammer van de bediening.

Visited an amazing concert, but bar had a huge line, so we went to the grand cafe for a drink. We were rudely refused and sent away. Blasted, will never ever return there.

prachtige zaak, heerlijke keuken

De zaak was leeg met 4 personen personeel. Ondanks de zon en het terras dat klaar stond werd daar niet geserveerd. Omdat we gereserveerd hadden binnen gegeten. Zeer lang wachten voordat bestelling werd opgenomen. Daarna idem voordat drankjes kwamen. Niemand leek zich ergens over te bekommeren. Nog langer voordat de lunch kwam, die op zich oke was. Daarna in de rij staan om af te rekenen. Meerdere gasten kwamen aan de balie hun bestelling doen maar dat schoot niet op. Man achter bar extreem langzaam. Irritatie over en weer en niet gastvriendelijk. Echt heel jammer dit. De locatie is prima overigens.

Below average food,really high prices for what you get, and no good service. Just dont go there for eating.

Goed plek om iets te gaan eten vóór een concert.

Komen er al lang, ook bij vorige eigenaars. Vaak vooraf concert BIM of Grote zaal beneden. Fijne plek. Overdag licht en prachtig uitzicht over het IJ, avond de lichten van Amsterdam. Eten is er lekker, bediening vlot. Toffe plek. Die Bisque is heerlijk. Van de zomer weer buiten eten?

Good food and service before the music

Prachtige locatie, Bediening was ook prima. Maar het eten zeer matig. Voorgerechten leken uit een bakje uit de supermarkt te komen en de zalm was taai. Nooit eerder de helft van mijn hoofdgerecht laten staan...

Grand Café. De naam komt uit de muziekwereld, leuke puzzel. We werden vlot bediend. We konden ook in het Nederlands bestellen. Het eten was lekker - de paté als voorgerecht was prima, het kaasplateautje als dessert ook. Mijn malse kalfvlees werd o.a. met een fantastisch geroosterd struikje witlof met honing geserveerd. Ambiance licht, luchtig en luid. Uitzicht over het IJ. Gastronomie op een plek waar je dit misschien niet meteen zou verwachten. Al met al een zeer bevredigend diner na het concert. Prijzen niet laag, maar ook niet extreem hoog.

Altijd gezellig zitten en heerlijke lunch!

Voorafgaand aan pianoconcert in dit restaurant een drie gangen diner gegeten. Echt lekker gegeten. Complimenten aan de koks. Vriendelijk personeel. Een aanrader. Wij komen zeker nog een keer terug.

I'm giving two stars because I didn't eat there, and because the view is very nice, but the attention puts the place dawn..! We went to a beautiful concert in Muziekgebouw, and before, we wanted to have a drink at 4 33 Grand Cafe but the staff rejected us in a bland way... There should not be a kinder person at the entrance? in front of the place? At the end of the concert we wanted to eat something, and we returned to 4 33 Grand Cafe ( yeah... I dont know why....) and they turned us away again because we did not have a reservation. However, they could do it in a nicer way or offer something accordingly since there were many tables available...I do not recommend this place... because of the attention that is always essential to me. However, I will not comment on the food since I have not tried it.

Went there for a spontanious visit. Had two starters, drinks and espresso. Its a little bit pricy but the staff is friendly and the food was exceptional. Try the tarte with caramelized onion.

Small menus are often a sign of good food. And this case rings absolutely true. The food was fresh, very tasty and reasonably priced. Service was also very friendly (although we did notice one of the floor managers trying her best to pull her weight around with the staff). Overall this is the perforct spot for a pre-show dinner.

Alles was goed, de bediening, de heerlijke gerechten, het cruiseschip dat vertrok met een ondergaande zon en de sfeer. Top avond.

The Muziekgebouw is one of my favorite concert halls, Great programming, good acoustics, relaxed atmosphere, superb view over Amsterdam. It was the first I had dinner in the 4'33 Grand Cafe and I was a bit wary after some of the reviews. But the evening was a perfect start for a concert. They ask you to come at least 2 hours before the concert, which gives them and you plenty of time to have a three course meal. Nice salads, excellent lamb. Limited choice in dishes and wine, but something for everyone. Service was good, although somewhat inexperienced . Great price/quality level.

I don’t have pictures of the food because the food was so good and the atmosphere is simply perfect with the over water view that I completely forgot to take pictures. This place is fantastic whether you have a concert in BIMHUIS or not.
