Had a nice meal in a nice Korean fusion restaurant. Combo of Sushi and BBQ. Tasty and good sushi with good meat for the BBQ.

Have been coming here for years and enjoy the quality. Today we once again had a sloppy and mediocre meal here (all you can eat). The pork (belly) for the grill was cut incorrectly and too thick, the Tempura squid was not tender and no longer had the nice cross-cut pieces, the chicken was too thick and irregularly cut, Korean pancakes gave a warmed-up limp impression and the quality of the ribeye is now becoming very poor. The service was also not up to standard. Korean cuisine can be a real pleasure with beautiful ingredients, but you cut corners too much and make me sad because this was the best place for this food in Groningen. Also a cocktail for 14 euros? And then also charge 10 euros for the alcohol-free version? Isn't that just a mixed fruit juice with sparkling? Please stop this, it's starting to irritate.

Food is okay, but waiting times can be quite long here. We had to wait half an hour for the first dish. Moreover, there was a group of young people who seemed to know someone, because one of them rushed into the kitchen after entering to return with all the dishes for their own table. There you are waiting...

Unfortunately, as a guest, my evening unexpectedly ended in a disappointing experience. It is advertised as: “At 5 flavors, we offer all you can eat sushi that will delight your taste buds. With our unlimited sushi options, you can enjoy a wide range of fresh and delicious sushi rolls, sashimi, and nigiri with our Korean BBQ, all for one affordable price. “ With high expectations and enthusiasm we decided to have a bite to eat at 5 Smaken. Enjoy Korean BBQ and Sushi! (At least, that's what we assumed) Dinner started slowly. We ordered the first round but after 20 minutes there was still no food on the table. After 20 minutes we also ordered the second round, including sushi. In the meantime, the service provided a gentle reminder that we have to leave in about 60 minutes. After 30 minutes the food slowly arrived. Dinner could begin. So far nothing negative about the food. The waiter was helpful and went to see where the food was. It was explained that sushi dishes require some extra waiting time today. Fine, as long as we can enjoy the food. The raw meat that had to be fried was not very special and was fine to eat, nothing negative or positive about that. We finally consumed all the meat, fish and vegetables that had to be prepared on the baking tray ourselves. The sushi, on the other hand, was very disappointing. My personal opinion/feedback to you, do with it what you want but please review or taste for yourself the quality of today's sushi. It's personally the worst sushi I've ever consumed. The rice was warm, very sticky and did not consist of loose sushi rice grains, but instead we were served sushi nigiris and makis consisting of a lot of warm, too sour and sticky sticky rice. Despite how the sushi dish was presented/served, we tried to consume it. After tasting we come to the conclusion that the sushi is, in our opinion, nauseating. the grilled dishes have been consumed and the 60 minutes have passed. We decide to pay. The staff indicates that a replacement sushi chef is working today, which has affected the quality of 5 flavors. Nevertheless, to my surprise, an additional tax was still charged on sushi leftovers that were not “completely” consumed. The additional tax has been paid. The evening still leaves me with a sour, nauseating aftertaste, literally and figuratively. Nevertheless, I give the following assessment: Food 3 stars: the Korean BBQ dishes that had to be grilled themselves were below my personal Korean BBQ expectations, but nevertheless the dishes were easy to consume. Sushi was seriously disappointing. Then I can understand that you profile yourself as a Korean BBQ restaurant and include sushi. But today's sushi quality creates negative experiences. Service 2 stars: Didn't ask in the evening if everything was okay. In particular, only seeing runners passing by who puts dishes on the table without explaining what is being put down. Plus point from the runner who, at our request, went into the kitchen to see where the dishes were and came back with an update. Perhaps due to pressure from above, but the additional tax imposed by the cash register employee was a nasty experience. Conclusion of disagreement, “dear customer; rules are rules.” Even if, in your opinion, an additional tax would have been rightly taxed. Feedback: In the future, please at least have your staff explain the concept and the rules to your guests in advance, that is the polite thing to do. Today we only heard that we can place orders via a QR code. Afterwards, when paying, reference is made to conditions stated in a menu, while this menu was not even on our table. Atmosphere in the 3 star restaurant: No details.

The food is tasty, that's about it. We had to wait 45 minutes for the first food to be on the table and after that it took a very long time again. The ladies were friendly, but they didn't ask much if everything was to our liking and when we were finally ready for dessert we had to walk to the counter ourselves. When we got the dessert it was also the wrong order and in the end we had to pay almost 170,- for the 3 of us. This is not a restaurant I would return to anytime soon.

Today we went to 5 Flavors and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, which immediately made the atmosphere nice and hospitable. The decor was cozy and modern, perfect for relaxing. The food was delicious. Grilling yourself at the table made it extra fun. Definitely recommended for a fun evening with friends.

Unfortunately... not worth repeating for us. We arrived at 5:00 PM and after we got our drinks at 5:15 PM we had to wait until 5:50 PM for our first dish. That in itself is not so bad, we saw that there were few staff, but what really bothered us and what really detracted from the restaurant was the group of very noisy young people behind us. Apparently acquaintances of the owner (or other staff), because after they came in later than us, one of the girls immediately walked into the kitchen to fill their table with food and drinks. There you are, neat and hungry, waiting for your food, which takes 45 minutes, while the teenagers behind you use the restaurant as a walking buffet. In addition, I also just scream along to the music, make loud video calls with friends and constantly run back and forth. Dear owners, keep your teenagers under control and make sure your guests don't get the idea that they are not a priority. This is not only very strange for your guests who all have to wait a long time for their food (the people next to us waited more than an hour for their main course!), but it is also very disturbing. The food is otherwise okay, a nice concept. Nice and friendly but very young staff. Unfortunately not for us anymore. If we want to sit among the screaming and running teenagers, we will go to McDonalds; that doesn't cost €40 per person and you get your food on the table faster.

Helaas… voor ons niet voor herhaling vatbaar. We kwamen om 17:00 binnen en nadat we om 17:15 ons drinken kregen hebben we tot 17:50 moeten wachten op ons eerste gerecht. Dat is op zich niet zo erg, we zagen dat er weinig personeel liep, maar waar we ons wel kapot aan stoorden en wat echt enorm afbreuk deed aan het restaurant was het groepje enorm luidruchtige jongeren achter ons. Kennelijk bekenden van de eigenaar (of ander personeel), want nadat ze later binnenkwamen dan wij liep een van de meisjes meteen de keuken in om hun tafel vol te gooien met voedsel en drinken. Daar zit je dan, netjes en hongerig te wachten op je eten wat 3 kwartier duurt, terwijl de pubers achter je het restaurant gebruiken als lopend buffet. Daarnaast ook alleen maar aan het meegillen met de muziek, hardop videobellen met vrienden en constant heen en weer rennen. Lieve eigenaren, houdt je pubers een beetje in bedwang en zorg ervoor dat je gasten niet het idee krijgen dat ze geen prioriteit zijn. Dit staat niet alleen mega vreemd tegenover je gasten die allemaal lang moeten wachten op hun eten (de mensen naast ons ruim een uur op hun hoofdgerecht!), maar is ook heel erg storend. Het eten is verder okay, een leuk concept. Fijn en vriendelijk maar erg jong personeel. Voor ons helaas niet meer. Als we tussen de gillende en rondrennende pubers willen zitten gaan we wel naar de McDonalds; dat kost ook geen €40 p.p. en je hebt sneller je voedsel op tafel.

5 Flavors has become a kind of comfort food for me. If my day is not going well and I need a boost, I order 5 flavors and it has not disappointed me yet! Even when ordering, they are always on time and the food is very tasty! My favorite is the Cheese yangnyeon is my favorite (definitely recommended!)

Here you can eat and drink very tasty food! Service was also fast and accurate, so highly recommended. The atmosphere is also good. We will definitely come back

This isn’t really Korean food. The owners aren’t Korean and the artwork is Vietnamese. The food is at best a hybrid of different places. Ironically the kimchi was good but they asked me if i wanted an egg in my kimchi soup. Oooff. The soup was not fulfilling. Tiny amount of tofu. Cauliflower and mushrooms added in— again these are foods you would never see in korean kimchi soup. I am all for capitalizing on the Korean wave but this restaurant is pushing the envelope a bit far.

The food is tasty. Especially the bibimpab and fried chicken. It’s a bit slower and the Sushi is not as authentic as it would be from a Japanese restaurant, but it was still a solid 4/5 experience! I would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t so expensive. But that’s to be expected from a restaurant in the center!

As a Korean... honestly, this is fake Korean food. It is evaluated as follows. Tailored to Dutch people? I don't know if it's customized, but... It's not real Korean food. How can this be called kimchi stew? How can this be called kimchi pancake?... I am worried that Korean food will be perceived distorted by foreigners...

We had all you can eat menu. Food in general is not bad, sashimi is included in the menu, dim sum, korean sushi, bibimbap are all good. A few dishes are slightly saltier like the marinated meat and meat quality is average. Bubble tea is way too sweet for me. Dinner cadeau gift card is available to use and no limit on the amount of money you wish to use. Services are excellent.

Food was nice and service was also okey, but they refuse to serve tap water to customers drinking alcohol, therefore was pretty frustrating and ruined the experience.

i ordered a poke bowl that came full of mayonnaise without that being on its description or marked as an allergen in the menu. i don't even know if the food tastes good cause i can't have it and the attendant blamed it on me, even though i had in the order observations that i wanted no sauce on it. i wasn't going to leave a review but the way she talked to me wasn't the nicest :/

We ate all you can eat here, but we regretted it afterwards. The courtyard, which functions as a terrace, is very messy and we found it uncomfortable. The food was very disappointing, especially the meat and sushi. Considering the quality of the food, we thought it was very expensive, excluding drinks. The "fifth taste" is the bad aftertaste we got when the bill arrived. Afterwards I also felt quite nauseous. All in all, a waste of money, unfortunately.

If you worked here you will know how terrible the boss is. The boss asked me to pay my working permit application by myself and asked me for two try-days without wages. I was told that the task is to send the dishes to the right table. In the two try-days I worked from 17pm till midnight. I managed to remember all the dishes on the menu, learn to clean the restaurant and to refill. Eventually the boss refused to sign the contract because another staff is coming who is younger and likely to stay longer. Very disappointed literally, the boss should be ashamed of herself. Plus, what she did is also illegal ( letting people work without paying)

An unexpected party in Groningen, worth repeating. 😘

2 stars because the waiters were sweet and friendly. Do not recommend. €40 for 2.5 hours all you can eat however you can order 3 items per person every 10 minutes. Each round took 15-20 minutes to come out so we had already fully put in the second round of orders before we had received any food. The food itself is not very flavourful, tastes like it’s just out of the freezer and into the steamer/fryer/whatever. With the flavour of the food I was even more confused why such simple things would take so long. Also considering that you can only order 3 items per round, and that they take so long to come out, the portions per order seemed so small. For the “poke bowl” I added a photo) the chicken was sliced so thin it was almost funny. We sat on the back terrace and walked through an unpleasant looking storage area that appears to have previously been a dining area but now is piling up with items. The terrace itself was not very clean, I could see pieces of garbage on the floor and dust on the table, so we didn’t use the Korean bbq because I didn’t know how clean it would be. Save your money and go somewhere else unless this restaurant goes into new management or really changes the way they do things. What a pity since it’s in such a nice area.

We had dinner here on 7/15/24, we arrived at 7:00 PM and we were only helped at 7:30 PM. we opted for the all you can eat. the first order was sent around 7:45 pm and the food didn't arrive until 8:15 pm. even if you ordered drinks via the app you had to wait at least half an hour. my wife ordered a juice and literally received 1 squeezed orange in her glass. and we paid almost 4 euros for that. the food was nothing to write home about either. We went home at 9:00 PM and asked for the voucher via the app. and after indicating twice that we wanted to pay, the receipt finally arrived. never again for me

Because me and my boyfriend had six months, we went to 5 flavors because he had wanted to try it for a long time. It was a very nice concept that you really had a kind of BBQ and could do everything yourself. I did think that the tables were a bit too small for the plates next to them (a tip) but you could also get very nice, tasty bobba shakes with those balls. There was nice music and everything was great. The meat was a bit salty at times but that's the only thing about the food. The sushi was also great! 😁

We ordered spare ribs here, these are the worst spare ribs we have ever eaten in our lives. It looks like ready-made spare ribs that you buy in the store and then boil in water. It just made us feel sick.

Delicious food and plenty of choice from sushi, gyoza and of course the Korean barbecue. At the entrance there is a metal shelf for a wheelchair but it seemed very cramped. Complimented the staff, they are very friendly and clean up everything quickly. We will definitely come back again. Delicious cocktails and choice of beer. Delicious desserts made from shaved ice are also available.

The waiter was very kind and accommodating, the Korean friend chicken was ok but the bingsu was really good and I would highly recommend it!!

We had an all you can eat meal here with 2 people. The rule was to order a new round only after finishing the current round. You only get your round after 30/45 minutes. So we were only able to order 4 small rounds. When we raised this, nothing was done about it. An excuse was made while the receipt was slowly pushed towards us. We will never come here again.

It is a very nice place with very friendly and good staff, but you pay almost exclusively for the atmosphere. It takes forever until the food finally reaches you and this in itself is not a problem, but combined with the quality of the meat being three times nothing is not a good omen. The sushi was tasty, and so was the desert, but this does not compare to the meat, which tastes of nothing. TLDR: very beautiful and nice place, but if you want to eat you better go to Taste and Flavor.

Did the all you can eat, everything was delicious except the “veggie dim sum dumplings” tasted alarmingly meaty. When we asked the servers, they informed us that it was vegan meat. I think it would be helpful to put this on the menu somewhere as it can be a bit startling when pure vegetable filling is expected 😔😔

Amazing food! I had the stew kimchi jigae and it was heavenly. The people in my group were also very enthusiastic. The atmosphere is also really nice. Overall a great experience.

The food is really good. Big variety of different meals including starters, main courses and deserts. The best thing is the bbq of course. The service is fantastic. Waiters are always in a good mood, very organised and ready to help. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for dinners with big companies of friends. The price for all you can eat is pretty high, but it is worth it. So don’t complain, save some money and try it. The only thing I don’t like is the absence of tap water. In my opinion, tap water should always be available at least for the all you can eat menu.

Sushi and dishes for the Korean BBQ taste fresh and are very tasty. I ordered their carpaccio multiple times because it was very good and the dumplings are very filling. I whole heartedly recommend and will definitely visit again!

This place is just amazing! I came here with my friends and we absolutely loved the food. There is so much choice and the products are fresh and yummy. Opening hours seems to have changed. We where there on a tuesday and it was closed. No sign telling opening hours.

Ordered something a la carte and the best dish was only mediocre. As a result, everything is way too expensive for what you get. It's a pity to note that I make more refined and balanced food with Gochujang paste at home. Staff is friendly. I won't come here again.

Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Food is fine, but it's a pity that 4 of the 10 orders do not arrive, despite asking several times and being told that it will arrive any moment. As a result, I did not order again several times, even though in retrospect that would have been the better choice. “All you can eat” becomes “All you can wait”. It wasn't even very busy in the restaurant, but home delivery was preferred. Expensive joke for more than 120 euros with 2 people.

Yesterday we came to this restaurant for the first time. We ordered 3 "all you can eat" and paid an amount of 130€. All three of us felt sick, we vomited all night and we still have stomach aches this morning. Really a very bad experience!!

Great Korean BBQ, at a higher price point but with a more homey feel than the other one in town that’s more catered to students. Selection of meat was not bad. The yangnyom chicken tastes exactly like the ones I’ve had in Seoul. Service is not too great but it’s worth it for the food alone.

We ordered two bubble teas. Worst bubble tea we had in our lives. I don't believe they actually contain tea, but very watered down "tea" aroma chemicals at best. The bubbles were unpleasant too. Squishy pockets filled with sour scented liquid, reminding me of air freshener. Big disappointment as we waited almost two hours and paid €20. Makes me wonder how hard it can be to make some bubble tea. For €20 you can get great bubble tea elsewhere. I wouldn't order this again, even if it were free.

Hele mooie aankleding. Super plek om gezellig te eten en korean barbecue te doen.

Wij eten hier regelmatig en maken dan altijd gebruik van het all-you-can eat arrangement. De sushi is oké en er zijn ook andere lekkere gerechten maar wij komen hoofdzakelijk voor de Korean barbecue. Erg lekker vlees (onder andere bulgogi) . De bediening vinden we daarentegen niet altijd top, onpersoonlijk en een enkeling straalt weinig enthousiasme uit. De sfeer in het restaurant vinden we ook niet geweldig, niet heel gezellig en de inrichting spreekt ons ook niet aan. De stoelen zijn zeer eenvoudig en wij vinden de servetten op tafel (een soort wc-rol) erg onaantrekkelijk om te zien. Daarom geef ik geen 5 sterren als beoordeling. Wij komen alleen voor het eten maar als de inrichting wat smaakvoller en gezelliger zou zijn, zouden we waarschijnlijk vaker komen.

Long time since I had dinner here but glad I went back! The vibe was great, the whole place was full and the orders came through fast. Me and my friend ordered the all you can eat menu and a bottle of the white housewine which was very tasty and okay priced. We had sushi (really fresh, love the spicy tuna), steamed dumplings and korean bbq. Especially liked the pork belly! Price for the food maybe a little higher than other all you can eat, but definitely way better quality then other places. Place is a little bit hidden in the Poelenstraat but cosy on the inside. Only feedback would to paint a little bit in the back were the seats were a bit older to freshen it up. Would definitely come back.

Cenamos muy bien. El sistema de pedido es un poco complicado. Pregunta bien. Se supone que cada 10 minutos pides 3 platos. Si somos 2 personas cada 10 minutos pides 6 platos,... Averigua cómo funciona. La cocina está rica. Lo único que no había eran california roll. Pero todo genial. Recomiendo buffet

This used to be one of my upmost favorite places to dine in or order, since a couple of months ago things changed, restaurant is empty, prices are higher and quality of food decreased significantly… how sad. What happened?

Wij hadden een feestelijke reden om uit eten te gaan. Wij kozen voor de all you can eat menu Korian barbecue. De prijs p.p. was al hoog genoeg en de eerste alarmbel ging al toen nergens de prijs van drankjes aangegeven was...hun jackpot en en die prijzen zijn zelfs hoger als in vergelijkbare restaurants De bediening deed rustig aan en de rondjes bestellingen kwamen niet snel of gezamenlijk . De smaak van het eten was zeer mild en zonder pit of het niet door een kok was gemaakt maar leek wel opgewarmde groothandel eten. Sushi uit de supermarkt smaakt beter verschil tussen de ene vis en andere was niet te zien of proeven. Kosten €34, voor eten p.p.en €45 p.p.voor drinken (2à3 p.p.) en zeker niet allemaal alcoholische dranken (kinderen).

Diner comes in two sorts: two and a half hour all you can eat Korean / Asian tapas -- salads, rolls, meat, sushi, fish, vegetarian, dumsum, pokebowls, etc -- for a fixed price, €25 - €31 price depends on the day of the week, or à la carte with price depending on chosen dishes. Drinks are separate. The food is excellent and the traditional Korean BBQ is just great. Waiters / Waitresses speak English. Owners from Macau are more than friendly and are specialized in Korean, Chinese and Japanese food.

Heerlijk eten voor een goede prijs. Dingen als zelfgemaakte kimchi maken de ervaring echt beter dan de meeste koreaanse bbq plekken. Daarnaast was er vriendelijke en tijdige service door aardige mensen.

The food wasn't to my expectation, but the service was very good, they were friendly. It takes 10 minutes to get your food after the first order, and then after each order, it takes 1 minute off, which is nice. They did give the food hot and freshly made.

This Korean restaurant is a hidden gem in Groningen. I would definitely recommend a visit. This restaurant is authentic and provides outstanding service.

Het eten was lekker, maar om mij volstrekt onduidelijke reden zat er een spiegelei bij mijn bibimbap ipv gewoon een rauw ei. Ik vind een gebakken ei op zich wel lekker, maar in zo'n loeihete schaal moet gewoon een rauw eitje. Dan heeft het door elkaar husselen voor het eten (dat wél werd geadviseerd door de bediening) tenminste zin..

Amazing everything. We went here and is our new favourite restaurant in town amazing sushi, bbq etc. Even the unagi was perfect, which is hard to prepare.

Veel keuze aan lekker eten en de service was ook hartstikke goed. Enige jammere is dat wij aan de kant van de bar zaten en het dus heel luid was elke keer als er drankjes werden gemaakt. Kon helaas vaak niet horen wat andere tegen mij zeiden daardoor en het zorgde ook ervoor dat de sfeer minder was. Los daarvan is het weten wel gewoon hartstikke lekker. Beste korean chicken in Groningen! :)

Heerlijk gegeten smaakte erg goed. De kachel stond volgas te branden en het was er heel erg warm dat in combinatie met geen normaal water mogen vond ik wat jammer zeker als je wel gewoon drinken besteld.

Dit restaurant bevindt zich in de binnenstad van Groningen. Aan de buitenkant zie je niet meteen dat het een restaurant is. Een kant lijkt een winkel met etalage en de andere kant lijkt op een bar. Het eten is vooral Koreaans met invloeden van andere Aziatische keukens. Heel vriendelijk personeel, je kan eenvoudig online reserveren en ontvangt meteen een bevestiging. Eten is niet te pittig, je kunt a la Cart of All you can eat menu bestellen. Ook is het mogelijk om aan tafel je eten te bereiden. Ons eten was heerlijk en ik vond de sfeer in het restaurant gezellig. Ik geef 4 sterren, omdat het menu vooral veel vlees/ visgerechten bevat en zeer weinig groenten.

Eerste keer dat we hier hebben gegeten. Nooit eerder koreaans . Het was een verrassende ervaring in een sfeervolle ambiance.

We had kimchi stoofbowl and a dim sum streetfood mix. We did not taste the authentic flavors. Seems Dutchified. The stoofbowl was a very small portion. The dim sum mix had good steamed dim sum but the fried section was akin to a serving at mcDonalds. Still, not bad but also not worth a detour.
