Magoya in Centrum

De tafel was vies. Personeel liep heen en weer met doekje, maar ze kwamen de tafel niet afruimen. Wachten en wachten. Ging zelf naar de kassa, eten bestelen. Maar het eten kwam steeds niet. Personeel spreekt GEEN Nederlands. Zijn Engels was heel slecht.

Ate there with a group and not satisfied! We were in the basement, which has been 'open' since today. Atmosphereless and freezing, so we sat with our coats on. Payment had not yet been made when the lights were literally turned off and the service was not very friendly either.

Sat in an atmosphereless cold basement, the lights were turned off before the bill was even paid. Nothing was cleared in between so our table was full of glasses, plates and other crockery. The staff was very unfriendly and grumpy and there was little trace of friendliness. Afterwards there was nothing to say about this as the staff knew almost nothing about anything and certainly could not speak to us in Dutch. They didn't notice that it was cold, while half of the group spent the entire evening wearing a jacket in the basement, which was incredibly devoid of atmosphere and bleak. Very bad experience, a shame as the food was quite reasonable. But the considerable amount that we spent here with 9 people was absolutely not worth it!!!

Food was 10/10 and service specially Sofia really kind

I went for dinner a couple of days ago with some friends. The food is the best of Groningen and the service was great. There was a waitress called Sofia that made my friends and my day better.

Great food, for about ~€15 per (pretty big) meal. The Dragon Rolls and Pokebowls are especially good. You order by scanning a QR code at your table, which can be confusing, especially to older people.

Waiting extra 20min for your online order that you made in front. Did not get any “sorry”. Goodbye.

I used to enjoy coming to Magoya. However, the quality has deteriorated considerably. Small portions (except for the amount of rice), less tasty and cold side dishes (gyoza). Toilets were dirty and the tap seemed to be almost falling apart.

I had too high expectations for Magoya, but I was very disappointed. Mediocre food and it was even a bit cold. Really nothing special about the food and it is much better to go to the standard Chinese. Hygiene is also hard to find. Especially in the toilet.

Nice sushi and great bowls. Nice atmosphere.

We got the tofu poke bowls. They were great, but sadly there was a whole STONE in the food, that could’ve broken our teeth. It was as big as my whole finger tip. Very unacceptable and dangerous.

A kind of Asian cafeteria. It all tastes a bit factory. Spongy structureless pieces of chicken fillet in Miso, the same cheap sweet sauce for all starters. The noodles in a generous layer of soy sauce. Reasonable portions for a reasonable price and that is why it still has 4 stars, but it all tastes a bit cheap. Friendly staff.

I have been here to try Asian food , I have a real good sizzle dish with beef tenderloin , vegetables and rice , the portion was big really tasty and I can't wait to eat there next time . Strongly recommended. Thank you for delicious food 🥘

The best restaurant in town! The food is outstanding, and the portions are enormous. The atmosphere is very chill, with a lot of tables, and they have a cute small terrace outside as well. The service is super fast,and it is so convenient to order with a tablet. Staff is so nice and welcoming as well!! It was our second time here, and we will definitely come back more often!

Terrible place, the table was dirty, one dish was not delivered even though we waited 30 minutes, the staff did not respond to the request to clarify where the order was!

A cozy place, everything is decorated with flowers, we booked seats in advance. We ordered sushi, of course the choice is small - 5 types, but delicious. Various drinks. Prices are reasonable.

Super nice atmosphere and incredibly delicious food!!

Honestly, I could not imagine ramen being worse than this. It was just tasteless water with some overcooked noodles and 2 pieces of broccoli. Biggest waste of money, can't even call it ramen. And it was even more expensive than other places that actually put effort into their dishes 🥲

Fast service, ordering is a bit impersonal, you order via QR code, but when you get your food the staff has a lot of positive energy. I ordered a pokebowl with salmon, the only downside to the QR-code is that I didn't know how to leave the corn out of my pokebowl (I ended up picking them out one by one with chopsticks).

I had the bimbim bap with crispy chicken and the chicken was really good. Could use more sauce in my opinion but overall a solid dish. The two-person tables by the window and the dim lights make this a cosy restaurant. The waitress was really friendly and helpful. Not fine dining but overall good price-quality ratio.

Magoya is amazing! My friends and I all love the foods here. I super love the Chaomian. Highly recommend here!

Great place to eat very good food

Zoals altijd lekker gegeten. Zoals altijd verbazing over de smerige toiletten. Zo jammer! De WC's worden gewoon tijdens openingstijden niet schoongemaakt.

I had higher expectations… went to dinner with a friend. First we got an order from another table? Then I got my main course after 5/10 minutes of ordering (vegetarian poke bowl, which was okay but an abundance of kewpie mayo?) and then the starters (mini Vega spring rolls from the freezer and Vega gyoza without flavour) plus eating my girlfriend. The restaurant was also very cold, the menu was also not up to date in terms of prices.?? delivery staff walked straight through the restaurant which is a bit strange… It felt like a fast food place with a restaurant twist…

The price is affordable. The beef pokébowl I ordered was very generous and tasted delicious!

Ordering at the table is easy via the website. This minimizes contact with the operator. Food (e.g. Bibimbap, Ramen, Chow mian, Pokebowl, Donburi, Sushi) is tasty, crispy fresh and not expensive. The restaurant just has new owners. The meaning of the restaurant's name remains somewhat unclear: possibly 'sun', ☀️ in Chinese...? Reservations at this restaurant are not possible - arriving on time to get a table is the only option (but there is always room). - Sitting outside is also possible when the weather is nice. There is a savings card system that allows you to save for a free bowl.

The Food came completely split. My girlfriend could finish her food before mine even came. Messed up restaurant

The food was outstanding! However, the service was terrible, waited 45 minutes to get the drinks and 1 hour to get the food. We understand it was rush hour, we raised the issue twice but only the last waiter actually made an effort to have the order delivered to our table. It’s a pity because we would return for the food, but the wait was quite frustrating. We had to rush our meal since it got so late and we had to catch the train home.

Nice restaurant. The food is fine. The last time only my noodles were too soft. Personally, I really don't like that! I didn't send it back. In hindsight I probably should have. The sushi rolls are always a hit with my children.

I always enjoy going to Magoya, because the food is delicious and the owners are very friendly. However, it has been so busy lately that it seems as if the staff can no longer keep up. Waiting 50 minutes for food where it used to take 10-15 minutes. The food is also not served at the same time, so one person has already finished their bowl while another has not yet received anything. Very unpleasant. Everything is chaotic and mixed up.

While I've enjoyed this restaurant in the past and the food has consistently been good, my most recent visit left me feeling conflicted. The experience started well—my partner and I ordered two mains, a starter, and drinks, with the starter arriving within 15 minutes, which felt reasonable. However, things took a turn when our mains took a full hour to arrive. During this time, there was visible confusion about which table should get what, as we were asked twice if our food had already been delivered. Despite ordering at 6 pm, we didn’t receive our mains until 7 pm, and to make matters worse, the food wasn’t served to us at the same time. What added to the frustration was the lack of accountability from the staff, with only one server showing any concern about our delayed meal. I also noticed a backlog of over 10 dishes waiting at the pass, which made me wonder. Overall, the food still delivers, but the service this time around didn’t match the quality. I understand if its busy but for no apology, accountability or proper responsibility its concerning. It’s disappointing to see such inconsistency and confusion, especially since I’ve had better experiences here before.

This is not the first time we’ve eaten it ❤️ everything is very tasty 🤤 the only thing I wish was that they put more ginger 🫚 the rolls are top class, simply incredibly tasty!!

Besides the sushi, I really dont enjoy anything on this menu. The poke bowls are a bit tasteless, and the lettuce is an awful addition as an ingredient. The donburi had the same issue and has to be doused with sauces to taste like anything. The chow mein was so overloaded with sauce that I just felt like I was drinking the sauce straight from the bottle. I also ordered a boba tea, and my god for 5 euros, it was the worst boba I've ever had. The pearls were still rock hard and there were barely any in it. The syrup was just too much, and it did not mix well with the milk at all. Overall pretty bad experience.

This place was alright. The food was good, but it was a bit nosy in the restaurant and it wasn't extraordinarily good food. I think maybe they were busy, because the food didn't taste completely fresh. Bear in mind, it was still a solid meal and we would maybe come back if we wanted a nice selection of noodles.

I ordered ramen with bubble tea and when the ramen was finished I went to pay and only then did it arrive with bubble tea. When I said that I would have liked it during dinner, she thought it was strange and got angry when I didn't want to pay for the drinks. The young people who work here are polite. But that old tart behind the cash register is rude.

The food was delicious, deliciously fresh. And don't be stingy with the fish or meat. fast service.

Wir waren erst zögerlich als wir die relativ bescheidenen Bewertungen auf Tripadvisor gesehen haben. Aber unsere Erfahrung war durchweg positiv: sehr gutes Essen, aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service und die in Groningen ohnehin sehr hohen Preise noch im erträglichen Rahmen.

Ordered a poke bowl. Looks okay, but the rice is hard to find and an extreme amount of lettuce has been added. Not really tasty and it can also be said that they add so much lettuce

Excellent food for a great price. Speaking Dutch is a waste of time, it is also more of a transit port than a cozy restaurant. But I'll definitely be back.

I went to visit this place with my wife for our 5 year marriage. It's a big food place but it is nicely sectioned off so you are not really bothered by others you can hear the screaming childeren though.. Furthermore you can order with your phone by scanning the QR code and they will deliver it to your table then. Your barely see the person who work here. They seemed extreme rushed and almost irritated that I came to pay. It does feel a bit dusty inside, but that is because the building and the equipment is a bit older. They have a good selection of food and the good, nothing amazing but just good. I do like the bubble tea. That is not a common food to have next to a warm lunch. It is a place that is nice to visit for one with your loved on or friend ones. I am not sure if I would come back often though. In short a okay place for a one time visit if you are a couple or a small group of people. Just don't expect to be blow away by anything, also they are not super friendly or so.

I expected a lot from this restaurant. Unfortunately, the veggie gyoza, veggie ramen and veggie spring rolls were just very tasteless and not tasty. This is of course a personal experience and I believe that the rest of the menu is very tasty based on the stories I have heard. But in any case, avoid these 3 dishes! The service and atmosphere were good!

You shouldn't come here for authentic Asian food, this is primarily a food bar. Food was not fresh, tasteless and also cold. Dirty table. The food is served quickly, but then you have to hurry again, otherwise the staff will become irritated.

Delicious food and for little money

Magoya is really the go-to restaurant when we want to have a bite to eat in the city. Not too expensive, good food and a nice atmosphere. Pickup is also always quick. Good addition to the city!

Bad company. After waiting 1.5 hours for my food, they call after delivery time to ask if I would like to come pick it up and that they don't feel like delivering anymore. Then they said you also got a big discount so come and get it. What a joke. Ordered here a few times a week but never again.

Exellent sushi and pokebowls. I have already been a few times and I am never dissapointed. Very nice staff too. It is possible to order with a QR and it is served very fast.

I felt very unwelcome, I mean was waiting for the staff for taking orders or at least cleaning the table bc it was hella dirty but she was obviously ignoring me and my friends I tried to take eye contact with her so she can see that we are ready to order. Nice atmosphere. Unfortunately our drinks weren't brought until after our food. Chicken gyoza is delicious! The chow main with shrimp was unfortunately super bland and the shrimp were not very tasty, even tough. Miso ramen was also quite salty and didn't taste like miso.

The made a mistake and removed it. Table was a little stick and the toilet sink was annoying but food was good and the girl who gave our plates was really nice

Magoya Nice cozy decor and layout. There is almost always a spot for 2 people. We have been here several times. Order via QR code and drinks are delivered quickly. You do not have to pay directly via QR, but you can do so at the cash register after eating. Pokebowl crispy chicken is fine. Food is always delivered quickly, which ensures a fast flow of visitors. In fact, it is not a restaurant for a romantic dinner. Price, speed and (sufficient and reasonable to excellent) food is more the goal.

Had a great meal at Magoya the other day! I had the poke bowl which was fantastic and my friends tried and loved their new Bibimbap and Sizzling! The waitresses are very friendly and overall there is a great atmosphere!! I would definitely go back and recommend to others!

The tonkotsu ramen was excessively salty and did not have anything special in my opinion.. I may not be familiar with the original recipe, but apart from a lot of noodles, i believe there could have been more bamboo pieces, cabbage etc in the serving. Appreciated the spring rolls that were offered for free. Service was fast and easy.

I enjoyed it very much!! The Chowmain is delicious however the new bibimbap are very good! There are QR codes on the table which I didn’t realize at first but I was easily able to wave an server over and ask, they were very helpful and the service is very good. I got my food soon after I ordered. The owner is a very friendly lady and always happy to help accommodate you. I’m never disappointed when I visit them. I have also phoned and ordered takeaway with them and they have it done very quickly so it’s ready when I arrive. The Ramen and chow main are also a must try!! Also a perfect place to go for a birthday or celebration dinner!! Well done Magoya!!!

Ordered a donburi tori katsu but it looked more like breadcrumbs than panko. The inexperienced English-speaking staff is difficult to communicate with, but it turns out fine in the end. Hippy fixed menu place. It's bizarre that they allow smoking here while you're eating

I’ve ordered a tonkotsu ramen but wouldn’t get it here again. I had much better ramens. The taste was ok, but the char siu (pork belly) were huge chunks of greasy meat, really not appetising. It also arrived half cold.

Went here a few days ago and it was incredibly lacklustre. Only recommend this place if you like bland food that has no semblance of authenticity. Not only did I get my food 15 minutes before the person I was with, but when she got her food it was the blandest possible thing. If people have placed an order at the same time it makes sense to get the food at the same time or within a reasonable window. A 15 minute wait for the other person is unacceptable. Not to mention that because you can only order with a QR code you cannot ask for the food without a certain item or for clarification regarding what’s in the food. It was impossible to get the attention of a waiter. Very disappointing.
